White box? Refurbished from Newegg? Do they have warranties?

yep, these pictured are OEM white box.  newegg claims they are new, but many of them show signs of use despite being "sealed"
it's pretty YMMV with a chance of the card being DOA/unusable for mining/etc., but for a good price it's a risk worth taking.
just FYI, the warranty is pretty useless.  they don't respond to RMA inquiries and you have to wait 2 hours on the phone to get a rep.

Whatever.

I opened 2 boxes (of 12 I purchased) for my own use, and the cards are pristine.  If they are used, it is the best refurb/scam I have ever seen.

Moreover, they work flawlessly thusfar....delivering 350 MH/s per core without a single hitch yet.

Anyway, I am shipping one to Inaba tomorrow.....he can either verify this, or tell you all I am full of shit.

UPDATE ON JAN 24th  We are making initial preparations for public listing on GLBSE!  Our ticker symbol is BMC (Bitcorp Mining Company).  Interested parties are welcome to purchase shares through GLBSE.  Current shareholders will continue to recieve dividends as promised, and need to contact us to transfer shares to GLBSE if desired.

At this point, we are simply playing around with the beta version of GLBSE 2.0.....but plan on going live soon.

Is this plan moving forward?

Still waiting on the verion 2.0 to go live.  Once it does, I will be contacting all current shareholders with instructions on how to transfer shares to GLBSE for trading.

Even downclocked there won't be a contest.  5970 holds its own downclocked against a 7970.  A 7950 is going to be 25% to 33% weaker.

You think?  I'm really curious to see benchmarks come in as people start getting their hands on them.  Now I realize the 7950 has a lower shader count than the 7970, but that can be compensated for by increasing the core a little bit which shouldn't increase power consumption too much.  I like the "550 MH/s" benchmark since it's a number that can be easily hit by the 5970 and, ostensibly, all 79XX cards.  Dial the settings all the way down til each card hits 550 MH/s stably, then measure power consumption.

BTW, are you in the Death and Taxes WoW guild?

I think you are expecting way to much out of the 7950.  To even hit 550 MH/s, you are going to have to overclock the shit out of it, and power consumption is going to spike accordingly.

Conversly, with the 5970, you are going to have to dial it back to hit 550 MH/s.

Regardless, in my case where power expense is nearly a non issue, I am much more interested in hashing density.  In that regard, it is not even a contest as the 5970 will crush the 7950 hands down.  AND it is much better in terms of MH/$.

Dividends were paid to shareholders of record thismorning.

Financials will be updated once we tally all the numbers.....we just recently switched pools to avoid fees, which should help in the long run, but hurt us a little during the transition.

There is a lot of resentment for smart business sense on this forum.
That was true a few days ago, but maintaining your asking price in the wake of the 7950s @ $450 probably isn't a wise move.

I am not sure I would even begin to compare a 7950 to a 5970.......Not really in the same league in terms of hashing power.

I had to do it.....I'm sorry......
Bad yochdog! That line is reserved for use by RandyFold's god-like presence (TM) only.

I wish I could "like" this.

Anyone have tracking numbers or the singles in hand yet? I am anxious awaiting to hear about this, if it is legit I am going to buy.

The lack of response suggests "no".  Sad

As far as I know, you can.  I've never used Diablominer, but I'm pretty sure at least a few people are.

Yes, I have used it to connect.

I'd be interested in getting one of these cards HD7970 (or HD7990 when its out).Only issue is the cost and that additional cost for upgrading my PSU.In UK both are expensive.
I saw was this: http://www.kikatek.com/product_info.php?products_id=241798&strAction=NoStock for £416.I noticed also that in UK a lot of these cards are out of stock.Could there be a high demand in UK for mining/gaming?

The hashrate (600MHash) is much better than my heavily OC'd HD6950 (which gives ~400Mhash/s stable as PSU can't seem to cope above this).Lets see,my HD6950 only cost me £177.50 whereas HD7970 costs £416 for a 200Mhash/s boost. So in UK,I'd be paying (£416 - £177.50) £238.50 extra just for a boost in 200Mhash/s so not a really good path for me yet.

In my case, you'd also have to factor an upgrade in PSU and the lesser value you'd get from my old one (current PSU is 5yrs old+) so that would add to costs even more.

I just wish that these HD7970s were much cheaper so I could get my hands on one.I wonder why it won't work with GUIMiner (thats the only mining app I can use as the others are too complex/cumbersome for me) ?

I'm happy to know that I can get 0.6GHash/s (600M/hashs) from 1 GPU.

Its all about density for me now.....MH/dollar is secondary.  Thus, I am basically down to only using 7970's and 5970's where they are able to fit.

agreed....HOWEVER it is very hard to pull out a 2.1G 5870 rig that is only pulling 925watts and been running for months without problems.

I hear ya.....but at some point, that becomes the ONLY option to increase hashing speed (excluding the Bitforce miracle, or course).

Are you getting out, or did you move to the 7xxx?

Moving up!

Donation rate below 0.5% again? Come on guys Sad

But yes, these 9 hour + blocks are deadly

Killing me.  I chose the wrong time to leave Deepbit.  There is something to be said for low variance.
So join a lower fee PPS pool, or maybe even use GPUMAX, then you have the same zero variance and still a better payout.

I have debated it.  Gonna stick with Eclipse for now.  The maths tell me the luck should equal out over time.... Wink
