17461  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Women's EURO 2017 Discussion and Prediction Thread on: August 03, 2017, 09:44:28 AM
This evening's matches: Denmark - Austria. Impossible for me to decide as both knocked out giants to reach this stage. But I'll go with the Vikings as they're stronger and odds reflect that at 1.47. Netherlands - England, everyone is expecting NL to finally fall but I like the way they've been playing and a Dutch win at 2.3 looks very tasty.
17462  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How can I redeem my Bitcoin Cash in Electrum ? on: August 03, 2017, 06:58:38 AM
Wrote a guide with pictures, you can read from my blog at: https://josephyap.me/spend-bitcoin-cash-private-key/
Hope it helps  Wink

Simple enough guide using the electron cash wallet, nice! Also, we've traded before on LBC, didn't realise you were a user here. Smiley

I'm also checking on all the exchanges to see which others besides Via is already ready with a wallet. Strange they didn't have this up earlier.
17463  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-08-02] Why a Bitcoin Fork Is Not a 'Stock Split' on: August 02, 2017, 04:22:10 PM
It's probably a natural progression for language that has been transferring between crypto and traditional finance. This is especially evident in trading, with a lot of TA analysis barely recognisable from forex. Headlines still use "Bitcoin boss" to describe CEOs of exchanges, and crypto uses "arbitrage" and "assets" more readily.
17464  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Russian trader searching for btc-e alternative for fiat withdraw/deposit on: August 02, 2017, 03:44:40 PM
Hi there. A few months back I participated in a campaign for Paybis, you can find their thread here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1818021.msg18109711#msg18109711

As far as I can remember and tell from feedback, it was a good if new service. They also have a LBC account with good feedback, I'm sure you can work out a way to use them.

Yobit also allows RUB deposits/withdraws, I use them every now and then to liquidate some of those "exotic" alts. Support was slightly ineffective but they were determined to help me when some issues came out so my own experience was good. But you may want to do your own research.
17465  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Polo's updated Terms of Use and Privacy Policy effective 1 Aug 2017 on: August 02, 2017, 11:24:35 AM
I remember they had an update of their ToU not long ago, maybe a year or less. As far as i remember those points you mention (1 and 2) were already in the text then, so it's not like they added it only now. What exactly they did change i don't know. I would like to see a side by side comparison between the current ToU and the previous version so we could see the exact changes they made.

You're right about point 1 actually now that I looked at a 19 June snapshot of the site. Point 3 (can only file from Massachusetts) is new though, as is the specific addition on the very first line: "binding arbitration clause and class action waiver". Basically, they've strengthened arbitration clause and class action waiver.

17466  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why is the price of BTC still so high eventhough BCH is going up on: August 02, 2017, 11:16:30 AM
Everything can be made sense of... even if there is little sound techs underlying that sense. Maybe one could argue that BTC should be $300 more than it is now, if not for BCC/H. It's still early days. Wait until BCC is in proper circulation and price settles.
17467  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have we all been entertained? Can we finally have business as usual? on: August 02, 2017, 07:56:08 AM
Well it was scant value in terms of entertainment, but I suppose we're all breathing a bit easier now. I was most curious about LBC and other exchanges in my country who almost completely ignored this period - but they also appear to have made it across the line without glitches. Business as usual indeed.
17468  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: FreeBitcoins.com will allow users to easily convert their BitcoinCash to Bitcoin on: August 02, 2017, 06:44:11 AM
Well, they announced that we users of freebitco. In would be able to withdraw our BCH and (if they have any value) to convert them into BTC in our balance. Conversion from BCH to BTC depends on the BCH's value.

Apparently, there's some value to this free money from Ver and co. I didn't withdraw my freebitco balance earnings of... about 100k satoshi so i should expect to convert BCC into 15k satoshi or more. Hooray for me.

Now we get a small break from tennis and try our luck in MLB

San Francisco Giants v Oakland Athletics
Game: Oakland Athletics  @ 1.761

Betslip

Ah, it finally had to end at MLB. Was a heavy defeat by SF Giants too, but well worth the significant odds anyway. I might deposit into a sportsbook earlier than expected actually, now that this 1 Aug thing looks done and dusted.
17470  Economy / Exchanges / Re: WARNING - Poloniex(POLO) deposit and support issues - you may lose your money on: August 02, 2017, 06:24:04 AM
I made several deposits and withdrawals at Poloniex this Spring without any trouble, but those last few days were different. Many people moved their coins to some safe storage because of the SegWit roll-out. This isn't over, yet. I would suggest to wait a few days before making any transaction. If thousands of people want to withdraw their coins at the same time, with thousands asking for support, well, there might be delays...

Yeah, I moved out of exchanges, Polo and Bittrex mid July even, just to be safe. Glad I missed the busy period. Hopefully, Polo's delays are just because of pre-SegWit blues, although the rumours and their puzzling update to ToS yesterday are bound to cause even more distress. Exchanges really need to learn to invest in PR.
17471  Economy / Exchanges / Polo's updated Terms of Use and Privacy Policy effective 1 Aug 2017 on: August 01, 2017, 02:53:51 PM
https://poloniex.com/terms/

After proceedings against MtGox and now BTC-e, looks like Polo got their legal team together to cover their asses. In summary, if they ever go down or lose funds due to hacks:

1. You can't hold them responsible.
2. You waive your legal rights to class action lawsuits. So no MtGox style claims. You're on your own.
2. You may only file legal claims from Massachusetts.
17472  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: BCC on Bitfinex on: August 01, 2017, 02:40:34 PM
The BCC on Bitfinex is a 'chain split token'...

https://www.bitfinex.com/posts/195

Somehow it's just spiked to nearly $4k!

https://cryptowat.ch/bitfinex/bccusd

Can't say that I really understand how it works to be honest.
that happens when people spreading FUD that BCC on finex is Bitcoin Cash... (and then people saw it is worth 2900$ while they expected 100$, so they thoght it might not be that bad -> buy)

Haha! I knew this was bound to happen when they chose to use BCC. Confused newbies, confused veterans and careless traders are bound to mistake coins like BitConnect. The other BCCs must be enjoying some unintended volume.
17473  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin fees reduced thanks to BCC/BCH fork? on: August 01, 2017, 02:02:25 PM
Actually, the past weeks/months have seen mempool return to more realistic, reasonable levels. Fees have corresponded with that. I've been seeing >10 sats/byte enough to get confirmed within 10 hours for a long time now. BCC has built a lot on the premise of low fees, so they should be even cheaper. Perhaps even... 1 "cashtoshi"?
17474  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How can Electrum users access BCC? on: August 01, 2017, 01:51:50 PM
I think there should be a tutorial on this issue of moving to BCC in the event that the fork happens which is few minutes from now because all this process seems confusing to someone like me who is not any where been a techie to understand how it works even the statement release by Electrum does not help matter. Is there no way where you generate address on a wallet then send your BTC to which will then divide it into BCC and BTC and from there you choose which one you want to spend. Or in the case of electrum, it just show the break down of both BCC and BTC just like having two wallets in one identifier.

Just wait for theymos to post a guide after the all-clear. Estimated to happen over the next 24 hours, but I would just relax and check after a day or two to avoid any unexpected messing up. Watch the announcements section for it:

17475  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2017-07-31 Cointelegraph.com Bitcoin Price is Likely to Surpass $3,000 After Seg on: August 01, 2017, 10:41:34 AM
By definition, BCC will be an altcoin. Just as ETH would always have been an alt even if it were ever to displace BTC in whatever aspect. More importantly, few people in the minority sphere (where I live in SE Asia) won't even consider BCC as useful. Exchanges deem it unworthy of being listed at any exchange. Even if in theory, all BTC exchanges will have more than enough BCC to shoot off a side-business.

It's not so much what's said against BCC that is telling but the silence.
17476  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: CarlesPuyol Sports picks and reviews. 486W - 103L. Join the winning team on: August 01, 2017, 10:03:12 AM
Looks like your winning run's started again Carles. I see Dutra's already won the first easily but is falling behind in his second. I see him climbing into the top 50 if he continues his from. BTW, telegram not getting updates anymore?
17477  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [BREAKING NEWS]: It Is Now 1st August 00:00 UTC on: August 01, 2017, 09:02:26 AM
Nothing really happen, bitcoin will go strongly from there, BCC is just a small altcoin style fork, I am pretty happen with it. I dumped at Yobit and I gained some BTCs, good job!

This is insane. Right now the exchange rate in Yobit is 1 BCC = BTC0.1410

This almost 14 times higher than the value which I thought BCC would be listing. The trends will be clear only after approx. 10 hours, when the BCC distribution will actually happen. But if the exchange rates in Yobit are anywhere closer to the actual exchange rates, then expect complete chaos.
The question is how long will this last? I because the amount of sellers is waaaay higher than the amount of buyers. So essentially the price should drop to 10-20$.

And we're finally seeing the expected drop off. From 2890 2 hours ago to just above 2700 now. 3 hours away from the fork, so the last-minute BTC buyers are the only ones left causing this inflation blip. Gonna ping pong for a bit today.
17478  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: No fork detected--> Segwit is now active UASF is active! WE did it! on: August 01, 2017, 08:52:10 AM
BitmainCash is completely unrelated to bitcoin.

How so?

My understanding is if miners try to make a non segwit block now a fork would happen; it could happen at any moment but so far so good.

As far as BitmainCash thats just an altcoin. That has nothing to do with the Bitcoin network upgrade.

So regardless of what happens with BitmainCash in about 5 hours we have already succeeded in upgrading the network.

To be fair, this "alt" has a lot to do with the "network upgrade". Hate to say it, but in an objective view, BBC weren't wrong to refer to them as Bitcoin rebels. Plus, they had to make good on their threats or people would take them even less seriously then they already are.
17479  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Women's EURO 2017 Discussion and Prediction Thread on: August 01, 2017, 06:51:53 AM
Lol mate this makes my day. hahaha. People here are just posting just for the hell of it without reading what they are posting. I even saw one posting about football in a NBA thread. Lol.
Such a bummer indeed because its my first time to beat in Women's League and I lost my first bet. Anyway, they are so ecstatic with the victory:

Theresa Nielsen, player of the match

“To beat Germany is so amazing. It was a tough start, though. I can’t describe the feelings because it’s so huge. Somebody cried in the dressing room, a few in fact. I will cry later because it’s so amazing.”

I really want to report these people, but every time I look at their post history there's enough to make me think they could have made an honest mistake...

This was also my first time betting on Women's football, even if I only put it down on earlier matches. Finals came at fork timing so I am all out of bets for a week.

Hope women's football comes into its own again. Did you know they used to have more supporters coming to matches in England than men's?

awesome u got it

will upgrade you to a full founder member free for life Smiley

Sweetness. Feeling so special all of a sudden. I'll be dropping by every now and then to check on the site. It's definitely got potential... but the same can be said of many. Few who make good on early promise, so let's see what you got =)
