1761  Economy / Lending / Re: LoyceV's Legendary Little Lightning Loans on: July 02, 2019, 08:52:31 PM
@LoyceV it looks like that the problem of too high closing and opening fee has been addressed by Lightning Labs team. Users will be able to use either RBF or CPFP if the fee is too low. I will prepare a detailed post on the latest LND update tomorrow. Eclair Mobile is powered by Eclair's implementation of the Lightning Network so it won't be available for you anytime soon Sad

1763  Local / Polski / Re: O co chodzi z Yobit? on: July 02, 2019, 06:22:13 PM

1766  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: The Lightning Network FAQ on: July 01, 2019, 06:28:20 PM
Did That Mean The 1 Satoshi (Rounded Down Satoshi) Is Left Behind On The Multisig Wallet?

Firstly, you wouldn't be able to open such a small channel due to dust limit. Let's assume that numbers are much higher (5000.1 sat and 4999.9 sat). Leaving 1 satoshi would not make any sense (dust limit) so the only reasonable answer is that it would be added to the fee.

What If The Channel Opener [X] Had So Little Balance That Will Not Enough To Pay For Fee? Did [Y] Must Give [X] Some BTC So He Can Pay For The Closing Fee?

By default, the funder [X] is obligated to cover all fees. The fee rate is negotiated before funding a channel and it can be changed anytime if both parties agree. [Y] won't be obligated to cover the closing fee. If the fee is too low then the channel MAY fail. Last commitment transaction will be used in such case.

BTW I See That There's A Minimum Time Limit Before A Party Can Close A Channel(A Party Can't Close A Channel Before XX/XX/XXXX). Did That Achieved By Timelock or by The Lightning Protocol Itself?

I have never heard of such limitation. One should be able to close a channel even before the funding transaction gets confirmed.
1767  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: New to Bitcoin got a few questions. on: July 01, 2019, 09:13:44 AM
Point is I am planning to Buy a Ledger Nano S instead of the X as what someone Posted in a thread somewhere it's just "storage capacity is bigger for the Ledger Nano X".

Not only does it have more storage capacity but also allows user to connect with another device using Bluetooth. For some people, it is a clear security hole. If you don't intent to move your hardware wallet around and don't mind uninstalling apps (it's not a real issue if you are not interested in altcoins) then go for the older model.
1768  Other / Off-topic / Re: Is Windows Defender a good standalone solution? on: June 30, 2019, 09:11:38 PM
I had used Windows Defender for a long time and I had never been infected. However, I am really cautious when it comes to downloading files from the Internet. I have recently switched to Malwarebytes Premium and I am satisfied with its real time protection, especially the web one.

Raspberry Pi 4's CPU is much faster than 3B+'s. 1 GB version seems to be priced the same as the third model, at least in my country. If I were you, I would buy 2 GB or 4GB model of Raspberry Pi 4 and HDD rather than 3B+ and SSD. The fourth model has USB 3.0 and gigabit Ethernet unlike previous models. Buy a small SD card only for the OS, either 8 GB or 16 GB one.

@Farul I will answer your post tomorrow once I have more time to explain it.

Would I be able to run a dual node on the raspberry? (BTC+LN)

Yes, see the last answer for more details.

I understand that to run a node you don't need to have an open channel; am I right?

What node are you reffering to? Bitcoin Core? If so, then the answer is yes. Lightning Network node? You don't have to open channels but then such node doesn't do anything. In order to route payments, you have to open quite a lot of channels.

I'm planing on using a Raspberry PI 3 Model B+ plugged straight to the router, and with a 256gb flash card for the OS (Raspbian).

Raspberry Pi 3B+ is enough to handle Bitcoin Core and Lightning Network node (LND recommended). However, I would recommend you to synchronise with the Bitcoin network on your computer and then copy blockchain data to an external hard drive. Don't use 256 GB memory card. Most of such cards are not designed to handle constant reads and writes. If you haven't bought that model of Raspberry Pi yet then consider buying the latest model (4B) with some extra RAM.
1771  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Is Lightning network suitable for Altcoin blockchain based on Bitcoin core? on: June 30, 2019, 06:39:14 PM
You should be able to get Lightning Network running easily on every Bitcoin fork which supports SegWit. If you make a fork of Bitcoin Core 0.18 then there shouldn't be any problems.

Why don't you open a channel with LNchat's node? Wink I reboot the server manually once a week so the downtime is negligible.

I guess it's in anticipation of the funds going out that they are "parked" elsewhere.

Coins are locked in a multi-signature address which is in control of both parties.

I'd say the funds don't go to miners, but to the "nodes" carrying the signal.  I might investigate seeing if I can keep a couple of connections open.

The Lightning Network is an off-chain scaling solution so that's why miners don't participate in payments (except when closing and opening a channel). It works thanks to Hash Time Locked Contracts.

Plus there doesn't seem to be any actual way to send my funds out, I have to wait for a funds request to come in.

That's a known problem which has been already addressed. Sphinx solves it but it's available only to nodes which update to a specific branch.
1773  Economy / Lending / Re: LoyceV's Legendary Little Lightning Loans on: June 29, 2019, 05:24:39 PM
No. No. No. Thank you for the suggestion, but no.  I thought we were just testing out the lightning network.

If you want to test it out without touching your mainnet coins then install Eclair Mobile Testnet, grab some free testnet coins and buy yourself a coffee via the Lightning Network.
1774  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: The Lightning Network FAQ on: June 29, 2019, 05:08:49 PM
How Is Milisatoshi In A Channel Is Shared When The Channel Closed?

The amount is rounded down when the channel is closed. 1 msat = 1/1000 sat. For example, if you have 900 msat then you will get 0 satoshi on channel closure.

And Who Pay For The Channel Closing Transaction Fee? Is It Shared Equally Between 2 Party? And What If One Party Has No Balance?

The person who opened the channel covers the closing fee. Note that it's not possible to use up all funds that are locked up in the channel.
1775  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: [ESHOP launched] Trezor: Bitcoin hardware wallet on: June 28, 2019, 06:09:21 PM
How much time do updates take to go from Beta to the official wallet? I've seen a blog article in December 2018 about supporting Ethereum without using MEW, and apparently, that's still not available?

There is no fixed time. I wouldn't be surprised if they wanted to move all coins to their new wallet, which is currently used by XRP and ETH, before pushing changes to the normal branch.

Later today I am going to update all my Trezors so I will report back the update time.

He asked about something different. Software updates don't take much time, especially on Trezor T which has a faster CPU than the previous model.

That's an overkill for a simple Lightning Network node. By default, one have 24 hours to bring back one's node online before forced channel closure (old channel state might be broadcast to the network).

Coś jakieś fatum mamy z tym merit source? - odkąd BitCryptex został merit source to mam wrażenie, że jego aktywność  na naszym localu (na forum?)

To nieszczęsne fatum sprowadziło na mnie remont. Wróciłem 2 dni temu i zacząłem nadrabiać zaległości związane z moją aktywnością w tematach o Lightning Network. Postaram się przeglądnąć posty z przed kilku dni. Muszę wymyślić jeszcze zasady konkursu, w którym chcę nagrodzić kogoś Trezorem One. Szkoda by było nic nie dać za 2 i 3 miejsce.
1778  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: The Lightning Network FAQ on: June 28, 2019, 04:56:29 PM
I would however recommend running Raid 0 and 2 new drives, with APC.

Wouldn't RAID 1 be better in such case? On-chain funds can be easily recovered using a seed but it won't restore the file which keeps channel state. Once you lose it, you have to depend on the other party. They might attempt to cheat. Using an old backup will be treated as a cheat attempt.
1779  Other / Meta / Re: Requesting clarification regarding Self-Moderated Threads vs. Non Self-Moderated on: June 28, 2019, 10:36:57 AM
When you say Moderator, do you mean if I didn't check the Self-Moderated option, that only someone like mprep on the altcoin announcement forum can delete anyone's post? Or when you say Moderator, do you mean that if I didn't check the Self Moderated option that I can delete anyone's post? My bad I'm just still a little confused.

If you didn't check that option then only mprep (local moderator) and global moderators would be able to delete posts. If you want to be able to delete posts then check self-moderation option.
1780  Other / Meta / Re: Requesting clarification regarding Self-Moderated Threads vs. Non Self-Moderated on: June 28, 2019, 10:24:30 AM
Since I'm very sure I checked Self-Moderated in the Additional Options, I'm guessing now that it means that any person who posts on a thread can delete their own post, whereas, if I didn't click that option, as the thread-starter, I would have been able to remove any post on the thread, correct?

Correct. Only moderators are able to remove posts in non self-moderated threads.

I'm sure I clicked the Self-Moderated option but I've been wondering why I've been unable to see any option to delete anyone's post.

I'm assuming I made a mistake, and now my question is, is it possible delete the thread I already started so I can start a new one where I can delete anyone's post? In order to do that, I should leave the Self-Moderated option UN-checked, correct?

If you checked the correct box then you should see 'Delete' button next to 'Quote'. You might have not checked the box by an accident. Re-create the thread with self-moderation option checked. If you can't delete the first post then lock the topic (bottom left corner).
