1781  Other / Politics & Society / TSA Fails DHS Security Test, Allows Weapons/Bombs to Breach Security 95% of Time on: June 02, 2015, 12:49:15 AM
The Transportation Security Administration abysmally failed an internal investigation into its ability to stop undercover Department of Homeland Security agents’ attempts to breach security with potential weapons or bombs, according to an explosive new report revealed by ABC News. The report notes that the test exposed the fact that TSA officers at “dozens” of US airports failed to catch DHS “red team” members armed with potential weapons or bombs in 95% of 70 attempts.

One such agent made it through security with a fake bomb strapped to his back despite setting off a magnetometer and enduring a subsequent pat-down.

“We know that the adversary innovates and we have to push ourselves to capacity in order to remain one step ahead.
  • ur testers often make these covert tests as difficult as possible,” read a 2013 TSA blog cited by ABC News describing the methods used by covert DHS red team agents, who attempt to blend in with passengers and sneak weapons through security to test the TSA’s capabilities.

Yep, this whole situation is blowing up in the faces of these neocons that run the foreign policy of the US. Either that or it was figured that the Iraqi army would fold eventually and this stuff would end up in bad hands which would restart another conflict all over again.

Rand Paul hails expiration of key parts of Patriot Act on the Today Show which is seen by many of those that don't get their news on payed cable shows like Fox, MSNBC et al. Good clip tho there are some digs in there which should seem obvious to the average boob out there.

"...most Republicans I meet across the country don’t want this president to have access to all their phone records."
Maybe it's time to tell the Fox News talking heads how "most Republicans across the country" view this issue, or perhaps they are trained to not pay attention?
And the ones that do are being lied to and fear mongered by Fox 24/7 it seems. I mean, all these folks were beside themselves when the IRS was targeting conservative groups but then this is somehow supposed to be a different thing..? I'm glad that Rand is calling these pyschos out in such a large way.

American socialism’s day in the sun
Popularity of the more radical Democrat Sanders is dragging Clinton to left in presidential race

Leftwing politicians are in electoral retreat across most of the western world. The one exception is the United States. At 15 per cent in the Democratic polls, Bernie Sanders, the senator from Vermont, is riding higher than any US socialist since Eugene Debs ran for the White House a century ago.

The fact that Mr Sanders has very little chance of unseating Hillary Clinton is beside the point. His popularity is dragging her leftward. If he flames out, other left-wingers, such as Martin O’Malley, the former governor of Maryland who entered the race at the weekend, are ready to pick up the baton. Elizabeth Warren, the populist Massachusetts senator, will continue to prod Mrs Clinton from outside the field. The more Mrs Clinton adopts their language, the harder it will be for her to reclaim the centre ground next year. Yet she is only following the crowd. A surprisingly large chunk of Democrats are happy to break the US taboo against socialism.

To most students of US politics, the phrase American socialism is an oxymoron — like clean coal or the Bolivian navy. A century ago, Werner Sombart, a German scholar, asked “Why is there no socialism in America?” It was a question that confounded Marxists. As the most advanced capitalistic society, the US was most ripe for a proletarian revolution, according to their teleology.

Taxpayers clipped $21k for Clinton Foundation meeting in Morocco

Bill Clinton, no stranger to controversy, raised eyebrows again with a Clinton Global Initiative gathering last month, as ABC News put it, "at a five-star luxury hotel in Morocco [hosted] by one of the world's most controversial mining companies, criticized for 'serious human rights violations' by the Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice." And as is the case with every trip a former president takes (and President Clinton takes a lot of trips), the U.S. taxpayer is on the hook for security expenses.

For the Morocco trip, the hotel costs alone for the Secret Service came to $21,165.

Other expenses related to the Morocco trip could not be located on the government spending website, but vehicle expenses likely ran into the thousands of dollars. Last Christmas/New Years, as THE WEEKLY STANDARD reported, a vacation for the Clintons in the Dominican Republic cost the taxpayers over $104,000 in hotel costs alone for the Secret Service. Three contracts discovered after that article was published show that vehicles for the Secret Service for the Clintons' Dominican vacation cost almost $20,000.

HILLARY CLINTON’S “GRASSROOTS CAMPAIGN” SETS $1,000 MINIMUM FOR A “CONVERSATION”

An Intercept reader forwarded me the following invitation from Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign, asking him to join the candidate for a series of events in Massachusetts. To take part in a “Conversation with Hillary” at a home in Chestnut Hill on June 10, three days before the Clinton campaign’s official launch in New York, attendees are asked to pay $2,700 per person. For the “Conversation with Hillary” earlier that day in Boston, a “Friend” of the campaign can attend for as little s $1,000.

The private events are described in the invitation as part of Clinton’s “grassroots campaign.”

The Clinton campaign website lists other upcoming fundraisers, including one on June 17 with McGuireWoods, a lobbying firm that represents ExxonMobil, the Washington Redskins and America’s Natural Gas Alliance, a trade group for fracking companies.

The Clintons' go-to historical reference: The Roosevelts

Hillary Clinton’s official campaign kickoff event on June 13 at Roosevelt Island in New York will not be the first time that the former secretary of state—or her husband, for that matter—has invoked the famous family in a political setting.

The island, named after President Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1971, was previously known as Welfare Island, among other names. Native Americans called it Minnahanonck; it was Varkens Eylandt to the Dutch. And it was Blackwell’s Island for more than two centuries before it was sold to the city.

Perfect place for her to start her ruse of a campaign, welfare island and trying to unmuddy her name a la the Roosevelts. Not saying I liked any of the Roosevelt's but the Clintons are fascists on steroids compared to the former way back when.

Dude. this^ is virtually the same thing that went on under Bill's regime when he had a chinese dude (DNC fundraiser type person) at the head of the commerce dept and the Chinese communist Army/govt was sending money to Bill's campaign in exchange for export waivers that allowed companies like Loral Technologies and Hughes Communications to sell encrypted missile guidance systems and the like to the Chi-coms. http://www.jonathanpollard.org/1998/040798b.htm There are more links but this is the first I rustled up. The John Birch Society was covering this treason and bribery back in the 90s but the impeachment hearings refused to bring this stuff up. Go figure that in recent times the Clintons' would do the same thing but on a larger scale thus showing their entitlement and traitor status once again using govt to pad their books.

No surprise here other than why they just don't conduct the survey or whatever themselves rather than pay MSU, who by the way, I no longer root for over UM. The left gets in power and targets groups that don't support them (this and IRS incident) and the Bush folks did the same to the so-called antiwar people back then that apparently just vanished the day Obama got in.

EXCLUSIVE — RAND PAUL SLAMS ESTABLISHMENT REPUBLICANS, DECLARES VICTORY OVER NSA, THANKS MATT DRUDGE AS BULK COLLECTION SHUTS DOWN

Late Sunday the National Security Agency (NSA) shut down its bulk data collection program as the PATRIOT Act expired thanks to Paul’s efforts. He tells Breitbart News exclusively that “we’re excited by the fact that the battle has been won.”

“The president has been told in no uncertain terms—and by the end of the week this will be in writing—that he can no longer illegally collect all of Americans’ phone records and keep them in Utah,” Paul said.

I think this is a big rebuke for the president. The courts told him it was illegal and he just kept doing it anyway. I think most Americans, particularly Republicans, don’t trust this president. This is the same president who went after Tea Party groups and went after religious liberty and religious groups. I don’t understand why some of the big government Republicans up here don’t get it because most Republicans I meet across the country don’t want this president to have access to all their phone records.

Paul criticized—without naming names—GOP senators including Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) of Florida, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) of Arizona and Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) of South Carolina and other Republicans like Jeb Bush for failing to listen to voters about their concerns with the NSA program.

ANALYST'S PROBE IMPLICATES HILLARY IN FOUNDATION FRAUD

NEW YORK – Although Hillary Clinton was appointed to the board of directors of the Clinton Foundation in 2013, after she had resigned as secretary of state, Wall Street analyst and investor Charles Ortel contends she is complicit in what he has described as systematic financial fraud warranting a criminal investigation.

fter months of tedious investigation, Ortel has concluded the foundation has filed financial and tax forms that were materially misleading, incomplete and in error with the goal of enriching the Clintons and their close associates.

Ortel alleges Hillary Clinton advanced an “inurement” scheme – enriching oneself through a nonprofit organization – in complicity with her husband by positioning various key associates within the Clinton Foundation structure while she served as U.S. senator from New York and subsequently as secretary of state under President Obama.

“Ongoing analysis of legally required public disclosures reveals that while Mrs. Clinton served as director, the Clinton Foundation and its principal constituent elements, filed false and materially misleading tax returns with the IRS and with other governmental authorities, for multiple years,” Ortel charges in his second report on alleged Clinton Foundation mismanagement.

Clinton AIDS charity was shut down in Massachusetts

NEW YORK – Why does the Clinton Health Access Initiative Inc., registered as an Arkansas non-profit corporation, continue to list its principal business address in Massachusetts, where its registration was revoked under a previous name, the Clinton Foundation HIV/AIDS Initiative?

While the foundation has provided no explanation, after meticulous examination, Wall Street financial analyst and investor Charles Ortel believes he can demonstrate material irregularities in the state registrations and federal filings of what today is known as the Clinton Health Access Initiative Inc., or CHAI.

“These irregularities are of sufficient magnitude that if any of the 50 state attorneys general should present the evidence to a federal district judge, I believe an injunction would be ordered, shutting down the Clinton Foundation and placing the organization in receivership,” he said.

Ortel has documented the Clinton Foundation used the initial IRS tax-exempt determination letter that was limited to raising funds for the Clinton presidential library to actively solicit tax-exempt charitable donations to combat HIV/AIDS for some eight years before applying for and receiving authorization for the new purpose

Rand Paul Takes On ‘Eye Roll’ Caucus to Oppose Data Gathering in Patriot Act

WASHINGTON — With his presidential campaign flagging, Senator Rand Paul, the Kentucky Republican known for a strong libertarian bent and a penchant for dramatics, understood on Sunday that he had to make good on his “Stand With Rand” sloganeering.

He needed to block a vote on the Senate floor to extend the vast surveillance authority the government has used since the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. It was a task he performed with relish, and he succeeded, at least temporarily.

The week leading up to the clash on the Senate floor was not good for Mr. Paul. The Republican establishment seemingly rose as one in umbrage after he faulted Republican hawks for the birth of the radical Islamic State, or ISIS. C-Span cameras caught one of those hawks, Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, rolling his eyes mockingly on the Senate floor as Mr. Paul denounced the post-9/11 national security state.

GOP senators tear into Paul

The Rand Paul pile-on session began a few hours before sunset Sunday evening.

Behind closed doors in the Senate’s Strom Thurmond Room, Republican senators lashed out at the junior Kentucky Republican’s defiant stance to force the expiration of the PATRIOT Act, a law virtually all of them support. Indiana Sen. Dan Coats’ criticism was perhaps the most biting: He accused the senator of “lying” about the matter in order to raise money for his presidential campaign, according to three people who attended the meeting.

The message may have gotten through to Paul except for one thing: The libertarian-minded senator skipped the hour-long meeting. That only infuriated his colleagues more.

“Anything that goes against anything he believes, he never comes,” Coats said in an interview. “It’s always helpful if you’re in there working to have your position understood, and we all learn a lot and we all try to come to a much better understanding of what we’re trying to do.”

Rand Paul has defeated the Patriot act! Freedom act is next!

Rand Paul has done it! He has forced the sunset of the Patriot act. In a couple hours, legally the NSA will not have the authority to access your call records, they will anyways however… This is a major triumph and I commend Senator Paul for his efforts and a shout out to his friend from the other side Senator Wydon.

ITS NOT OVER!

The fight has just begun. We need to defeat the freedom act as well! This will be voted on in the coming days. Lets not waste time, you need to call your representatives and tell them to sunset all variations of the patriot act and not pass the freedom act! We must join Senator Paul and continue to fight and protect our fourth amendment rights!
