Rand Paul: ‘We’re all in’ for a long campaign

Despite disappointing polling numbers this summer, U.S. Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., the libertarian-minded presidential candidate, said organizing continues in all 50 states, and he’s “all in” for a campaign long past the highly watched early voting states.

Paul’s comments came Thursday afternoon in a phone interview with the Iowa State Daily. He said frontrunner Donald Trump’s popularity is solely based on his “celebrity” status and completely dismissed polling showing him well behind the frontrunner.

“I think there is some celebrity distortion in the polls, but still when you ask people in most of these polls, ‘Have you decided who you’re voting for?’ two-thirds of people say no,” Paul said. “Then they ask you to go ahead and pick, even though you’re [undecided]. It’s really kind of a poll of leaners, and it’s really influenced greatly by celebrity.”

Are you sure you didn't mean $180.00? Wink
Either that or the 'classy' hooker price will go up via hypernutflation at some point coming up here. I'd hate to think of what the true (female) Cheesy whore price will be at that point. You can speculate the rest about the fine sluts amongst us.

Already most of people here recognise XT like danger for bicoin, whatdo you want from bitcoin core, everything was going in right direction, maybe slow  but right way.And now XT developers are trying to say that thay came to rescue btc from crash, lies.lies, lies

"maybe slow"?? Bullshit! This is the fucking Internet. We want big ass blocks and we want them now!  . We don't have time too wait.  It is not certain that there will be ANY block size increase and there won't be certainty until it actually happens.  If they at least implemented Garzik's 2MB blocks while we continued to work on a more permanent solution THEN I would be convinced that there is some assurance that a solution will come before the network gets jammed like the I5 in Los Angeles during rush hour.

If the debate is about scalability vs. decentralization or scalability vs. security (and youy damn well know it is), then there is NO commitment from a critical mass of core devs to increase blocksize with minimal impact on the other characteristics.  It's till a very much "IF" debate and not a "when and by how much" debate.  That is not progress.  That is unacceptable.

Maybe you could sell them some block space? What if we all chip in?
BJA has been emotional and/or logical for quite some time now about this whole blocksize debate so it'll be interesting to see what comes out of this .CA session that is upcoming. This bullcrap needs to be finalized so folks know whether to spec or dip. PM me the details if this shit is revealed overnight at some point. Ultimately bullish, tho.
924  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin= 1M$ tomorrow. What you will do? on: September 11, 2015, 02:32:35 AM
Firstly, i'll convert 3/4 of my bitcoin to fiat and will buy some acers of land, a scorpio car, and some other things Grin rest of those moneys will give to my sibling and my parents. Smiley
You won't need to convert by then and this will never be an overnight transition which I'm sure everyone knows at this point in the low 2 huns. That said, I'll tell my bosses and customers (some of them), that piss me off, to go fuck themselves and then buy the best bottle of cognac and take it to the face while contemplating my next move in a drunken fashion - and maybe source out a jib (joint) just for the hell of it. Is this a wish upon a star moment? It's like the lottery question that probably won't happen...until 10k and the hun-k is heard loud and clear.

Rand Paul plans to run TV ad during next GOP debate

The Kentucky senator's campaign has reserved almost $10,000 on CNN in both coveted early primary states during the Sept. 16 debate, according to an ad-tracking source. The first GOP debate, which aired on Fox News Channel, earned record-high ratings.

The spending move comes as Paul tries to stay competitive despite lackluster polling in both states. Recent NBC News/Marist polls in Iowa and New Hampshire showed Paul at just 5 percent in each state, trailing a number of his rivals for the nomination.

Paul isn't the only one hoping to capitalize on the expected high viewership for the debate. In his home state of Kentucky, a group backed by the Republican Governors Association has reserved airtime on CNN to boost Matt Bevin, the GOP candidate in this year's gubernatorial race.

Good interview by Rand as he talks about the "Iran Deal so-called rally" coming up where he talks about wanting a peaceful deal but doesn't set up the right structure for appropriate oversight over it and then the KY clerk that is in jail over her refusal to sign off on gay marriage per the latest SC ruling. Enjoy

Rand going on Colbert's New Late Show sometime soon

The Late Show with Stephen Colbert has not even premiered on CBS and it has already become the go-to destination for 2016 presidential candidates. Tonight’s premiere features an interview with Jeb Bush and next week Stephen Colbert will sit down with Bernie Sanders. Vice President Joe Biden could even use the show to break some news on Thursday.

Now, according to a new report from the National Journal, Senators Ted Cruz and Rand Paul are jumping on board the Colbert train. Cruz is already on the schedule to appear on Monday, September 21. Paul doesn’t have a date set yet, but his staff is reportedly working to arrange a time “in the near future.”

Three Vermont Lawmakers Endorse Rand Paul

Sen. Rand Paul’s recent appearance at a Vermont GOP fundraiser has resulted in the Kentucky senator’s endorsement by three Vermont state representatives, making him the first Republican presidential hopeful to gain support from elected officials in the state.

“Rand Paul is the only Republican out there who thinks that we need to actually compete in blue states like Vermont,” said Rep. Tom Burditt (R-West Rutland) in a news release. “And he’s the only candidate who is winning support from Democrats without giving up his conservative principles.”

Along with Burditt, Janssen Willhoit (R-St. Johnsbury) and Paul Dame (R-Essex Junction) also endorsed Paul after seeing him speak at the GOP fundraiser last week.

“I sat at a table with six high school kids who are supporting Rand Paul,” Dame said in the release. “When was the last time you saw six high school kids at a Republican fundraiser?”

In his Vermont speech, Paul placed importance on protecting the Bill of Rights, and said his stance on protecting privacy and civil liberties could cross partisan lines.

Rand Paul to tailgate at Iowa-Iowa State game Saturday

Republican presidential candidate Rand Paul returns to Iowa for the first time in more than a month this week, with five events scheduled for Friday and Saturday.

Paul, a U.S. senator from Kentucky, will appear in Indianola and Ames on Friday, and then hold events in Marshalltown and Nevada on Saturday morning before tailgating at the Iowa-Iowa State football game in Ames that afternoon.

The latest Des Moines Register/Bloomberg Political Iowa Poll shows Paul tied for eighth place in the crowded Republican field, as the top choice for just 4 percent of likely caucusgoers.

The “Liberty” movement that propelled his father, Ron Paul, to third place in the 2012 Iowa caucuses does not appear to be as organized or unified in 2015, while Rand Paul himself has barely campaigned here, spending just 10 days here so far this year.

I think that if he ever win the election he´ll become just like the other politicians, without any ideals and beliefs of his own, and even if he has some, his politics won´t be leaden by them. But I think he´ll remain not much more than a curiosity.
Your supposition would only ring true if he got elected and then feared for his and his family's lives and folded like a lawn chair on liberty issues. However, I say he catches fire after the Trump joke falls to the wayside and Rand becomes the true, legit anti-establishment candidate amongst the fools' march inside of the GOP primary season.

The problem in the LP community is the purists vs the pragmatists, the latter whom are often vilified as not worth their LP salt. I've been there (and) in the LP community as both a Pure and Prag in mindset but have shifted back to the GOP thanks to the Paul name as it's obvious that 3rd parties aren't going anywhere anytime soon thanks to ballot access laws. The squabbling in the LP is a waste but it makes the personalities in said party feel some meaning but the major parties go on. The LP is only a protest party and shouldn't be taken seriously at all and especially in the major party primary season.

I can be sent half of the reward at this address. - Just be cool and send it to a party that is part of the next wave of people that is interested in bitcoin or a charity. Or, just keep it for yourself and that's what I'd hope for. Smiley
936  Other / Politics & Society / Ron Paul: The Real Refugee Problem – And How To Solve It on: September 08, 2015, 05:16:20 AM
Last week Europe saw one of its worst crises in decades. Tens of thousands of migrants entered the European Union via Hungary, demanding passage to their hoped-for final destination, Germany.

While the media focuses on the human tragedy of so many people uprooted and traveling in dangerous circumstances, there is very little attention given to the events that led them to leave their countries. Certainly we all feel for the displaced people, especially the children, but let’s not forget that this is a man-made crisis and it is a government-made crisis.

The reason so many are fleeing places like Syria, Libya, Afghanistan, and Iraq is that US and European interventionist foreign policy has left these countries destabilized with no hopes of economic recovery. This mass migration from the Middle East and beyond is a direct result of the neocon foreign policy of regime change, invasion, and pushing “democracy” at the barrel of a gun.

Even when they successfully change the regime, as in Iraq, what is left behind is an almost uninhabitable country. It reminds me of the saying attributed to a US major in the Vietnam War, discussing the bombing of Ben Tre: “It became necessary to destroy the town in order to save it.”

The Europeans share a good deal of blame as well. France and the UK were enthusiastic supporters of the attack on Libya and they were early backers of the “Assad must go” policy. Assad may not be a nice guy, but the forces that have been unleashed to overthrow him seem to be much worse and far more dangerous. No wonder people are so desperate to leave Syria.

Most of us have seen the heartbreaking photo of the young Syrian boy lying drowned on a Turkish beach. While the interventionists are exploiting this tragedy to call for direct US attacks on the Syrian government, in fact the little boy was from a Kurdish family fleeing ISIS in Kobane. And as we know there was no ISIS in either Iraq or Syria before the 2003 US invasion of Iraq.

As often happens when there is blowback from bad foreign policy, the same people who created the problem think they have a right to tell us how to fix it – while never admitting their fault in the first place.

Thus we see the disgraced General David Petraeus in the news last week offering his solution to the problem in Syria: make an alliance with al-Qaeda against ISIS! Petraeus was head of the CIA when the US launched its covert regime-change policy in Syria, and he was in charge of the “surge” in Iraq that contributed to the creation of al-Qaeda and ISIS in Iraq and Syria. The idea that the US can salvage its disastrous Syria policy by making an alliance with al-Qaeda is horrific. Does anyone think the refugee problem in Syria will not be worse if either al-Qaeda or ISIS takes over the country?

Here is the real solution to the refugee problem: stop meddling in the affairs of other countries. Embrace the prosperity that comes with a peaceful foreign policy, not the poverty that goes with running an empire. End the Empire!

Still long from $226. Market is in reaccumulation right now; I can't see it coming down from here unless demand completely dries up over the next few days. In that case stops are set to keep a slight profit.

A horizontal point and figure count of the sidways area from 8/18 to 9/2 shows that enough force of accumulation has been built up to advance the price about $40, so $260-$270 is the next stop medium term. At that point the market should show us at least one tall green bar on the daily chart on good volume (a sign of strength) to confirm that the rally has gained enough of a following to push above the $26x resistance area.

Unless of course, this is just an Ashley Madison pump.

It is time to say "time to accumulate" after failed prediction.
That could be the case here or there but could be another epic dump which would hurt for a while. Choose your poison. I say dump cuz the Ashley Madison crowd is feasting on bitcoin payments atm which will end soon and then back down the toobs. However, the chinese litecoin crowd may prosper but I sold yesterday, it's up to you.

Another big move for the week, Rand starting a physicians network.

"This network will allow physicians to get involved, participate in the campaign, and become part of the solution."

This is a great move if you ask me. People don't know this man is a doctor. This is what the "doctor ordered" in my opinion (pun intended.) We need to raise favor-ability ratings and this is something I have been wanting to see.

Poll: Rand tied for 4th in Iowa

Meanwhile, in the Republican presidential race, Donald Trump now holds a seven-point lead in Iowa and a 16-point one in New Hampshire.

In the Hawkeye State, Trump gets the support from 29 percent of potential GOP caucus-goers, while Ben Carson receives 22 percent. There's a steep drop off after that: Jeb Bush gets 6 percent; Carly Fiorina, Rand Paul and Scott Walker get 5 percent; and Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio and Bobby Jindal are at 4 percent.

In July, Walker was ahead of the Iowa Republican field at 19 percent, Trump was second at 17 percent and Bush was third at 12 percent.
