What's time frame?
The coin is drowning, there is no other exchange, where it is listed except sharexcoin.com. As 175mlj coins are not destroyed, the distribution is assumed not finished yet. Coin destroying isn't very hard and time consuming action, so why postpone it for days. Price now is back to 3 sats. Sadly... I don't know if price will go up after destroying, but the promised actions should be done to earn trust in FREEB. |

Hi, Regarding this issue I would like to discuss with everyone the possibilities before we do something we can't undo. First of all, when anyone issues the command getinfo it will be presented a variable called "moneysupply" which shows the amount of existing coins. Right now it is 501029874.12035203. This information will not be reduced by 175000000 after we destroy the coin. If this is what we are expecting it might be another options, but I sincerely don't think this is required. There are a few ways to make these coins unavailable: 1. Come up with an address that passes the basic sanity checks but is internally invalid. We can know for sure that no key could possibly match this address. 2) Put strings of characters in the address that are way beyond what anyone could generate in a vanity address. For example, if the address has "FreebiesThatWereGoneForever" in it, it's clearly beyond anyone's capability to find a corresponding private key. 3) Use a public key that's obviously made up, such as one that consists only of zero bytes or that contains all consecutive digits of Pi. It's clearly beyond anyone's capability to find a corresponding private key. (For this one to work, we need to disclose the public key.) 4) Use a hash of the public key that's obviously made up. This works the same as the option above, but the difficulty would be in even finding a public key with such a hash, much less finding the corresponding private key. I would like to hear what you guys think about it before we proceed. P.S.: Most of this text was extracted from https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=144158.0 and if we decide to go on this path I can generate the address as it is shown there and make public the math used to generate that address (the same way it is described there, but with our details) I will wait for comments and concerns for some time (not sure yet how long, maybe till Friday?) Thanks Adriano I think that you should use exactly the same method NVC used as it has been used before and we can be sure that it works. The best method is the method that's proved itself. Btw, I suggest to destroy the coins as soon as possible and then switch to further development. |

As I said before in one of my posts that we should be highly thankful for such a dev like joel and other board members, of course. I feel bad that I gave my critics at the time when those dumps happened at Mintpal. I have seen so much scam around that I just could not stand and started get overstressed. I have learned not to say anything on fire. It's better to take three deep breaths and watch for things being settled down. Stress-screaming in many cases are addressed to wrong people. |

no one will dump I assure you that, the wallets will be distributted into 3 wallets and will be held by 3 trusted board members, like everyone else here we will promise not to dump, maybe sign an agreement with Joel etc...
So a decentralized currency designed to enable commerce without the need for a trusted third party which needs the implicit and absolute trust in third parties? Im SOOO close to walking away after comments like this....What do you suggest then? People keep all their money on exchanges that don't stake, and other people complain that the stake interest is too high. I cant please everyone. I have a full time job and I am at my tipping point. I hope it was and I hope we don't hear it again. There are people waiting for the dust to clear here with serious money waiting to invest based on what we have been saying about this coin's potential and the dev team's dedication and this sort of thing is not going to fill them with confidence. People must pay bills, Financially support family. What are you angry at? Joel came up with his announcement that he is finishing up a code in a very short time after attack. But... I am still worried about my coins that I sent to Bter in a moment, when they disabled market. Those coins are not credited to my account. What should I do to prove the things as Bter person stated that dev must accept my address?

we are waiting on cryptock, lets see when and how will this happen! I am waiting for some promotion before destroying the coins so that people can grab all the low sell orders before we destroyed 175m coins. Thereby making FREEB more rare. The promotion should happen short after the destroying happen. Noone hooks up for promises nowadays. After actual fact happen the real buy pressure will kick in. In other words, coins should be destroyed as soon as possible and documented how it is done with proof. Price rise is guaranteed, because people like honesty. |

Buy support tries to provoke dump of the coin. I've bought 6.6mlj, that's exactly how much I could spend BTC to support sell orders. I didn't get free stake, btw.

I dont want to rush things, but it is not healthy to have the exchanges off for a long period of time.
When can we expect the start of the transition?
Personally I would prefer the team to take their time this time and get everything right. I'm a long term holder and would not be fazed if this transition takes several weeks. They took around 2 weeks to make the last transition, now they know how to do it i dont see why wouldnt they be able to do it even faster this time. The problem isnt with the code it was with securing the network. So its another copy paste and were set to start the swaping. This shouldnt take too long people have had enough of these transitions i think. nope they did it within 6 days. there were some stragglers for a couple weeks though. when i say that it was from the time of the attack to the creation of the pos and the distribution. might be 7 days. Well then its even faster then i though i dont see why this should take longer. Pausing the trades for 1 whole week is more then enough already. Let's wait what Joel says. Will new coin be based on current code or there will be taken a pure PoS coin source to adapt... I think the last option is desirable. |
