Edison was a thief who stole Tesla's ideas, reneged on their contract & lied to the world to protect his own self-interest. He also did public displays of electrocuting animals in the streets to scare the world away from alternating current. Which we all use today. Why would you have this jackass on your coin? Have you done no research at all ? Best of Luck.

Edison was chosen specifically because of him being an advocate for monetary reform in the U.S., I think Edison would have supported cryptocurrencies as well.
Views on money
Thomas Edison was an advocate for monetary reform in the United States. He was ardently opposed to the gold standard and debt-based money. Famously, he was quoted in the New York Times stating "Gold is a relic of Julius Caesar, and interest is an invention of Satan."[92]

In the same article, he expounded upon the absurdity of a monetary system in which the taxpayer of the United States, in need of a loan, be compelled to pay in return perhaps double the principal, or even greater sums, due to interest. His basic point was that if the Government can produce debt-based money, it could equally as well produce money that was a credit to the taxpayer.[92]

He thought at length about the subject of money over 1921 and 1922. In May 1922, he published a proposal, entitled "A Proposed Amendment to the Federal Reserve Banking System".[93] In it, he detailed an explanation of a commodity-backed currency, in which the Federal Reserve would issue interest-free currency to farmers, based on the value of commodities they produced. During a publicity tour that he took with friend and fellow inventor, Henry Ford, he spoke publicly about his desire for monetary reform. For insight, he corresponded with prominent academic and banking professionals. In the end, however, Edison's proposals failed to find support, and were eventually abandoned.
Please cite a reputable source to back up your claims, at least get your facts straight before you disort them at your leisure.

what a shit coin
the description is full of lies

why would anyone even mine this? why did u mine this?

I agree, please go mine doge and don't mine NUD, more importantly don't hoard NUD with it being an experimental technology. Hoarding it without even donating to development makes about as much sense as hoarding testnet BTC at this point.

UPDATE 0.0.0.2 has been released, PLEASE UPDATE IMMEDIATELY, the network will hardfork within 24 hours.

Nice.  What changes have you made?

Off topic, but ocminer, your pool has these audible alerts that drive me crazy because I don't know what the hell they signify.  What are they for?

Interesting coin.  I'd like to see how this can expand on what slimcoin has done and push proof of burn further.

Hi !

You're all good ZyTReX Wink
The practice will be easier than reading the theoretical part.

Kibwee.com is now live !

We are entering in the 2nd step of the pre-launch.

You can now connect to kibwee.com and use all the functionality and start to discover the console.
The website is live, but the coin isn't release yet, so no Rolls will happens.

If you won the free Shares giveaway, you must register before the coin launch, so I'll credit your account. Same for peoples with bounties pending (I'll contact you all by PM).
Else you can create an account right now.

It's up to you to buy Shares to be ready for the coin source code release. As soon as the Miners will start to work on the PoW, the PoC will follow the move naturally.
Don't forget to Activate the Contribution, it's disabled by default (you'll lose no Shares as no Rolls will happen).

What will happen on the Coin release ?

The first Roll will occur on block 280 only.
It's because the Coins need to reach the Maturity (220 blocks) and because the first sending happen on block 60.
After the block 280, we will have 1 Roll every 60 blocks during the 8 months of distribution.

The pages are updating by themselves, so you can stay online on "Account" and watch the progression.

If you have any questions, it's maybe better for you to ask them before the coin release !

Very impressive so far.

There are the nodes I have, but didn't the dev say to quit mining?

No new patches, dev has no idea whats going on, difficulty lower than 24h after launch, bter trading suspended.

I am out. Good luck guys, hope the traders earn back what they lost.

Agree.
Shame on dev. This coin was perspective, but dev is slow.

Shame on you! You want stuff faster? Do it yourself!
You want a fulltime dev? Donate him! Or gtfo here and grab youself some scamcoin at ipo

Dev's doing a great job, all bugs so far have been fixed in time (<48 hours). He asks for debugs to fix the sync issue.. SEND THEM instead of complaining!

Suggest you update logo

I know its just a template, but there could be a logo contest.

You could use this prime-sieve program as a logo:

Code:
000100011001100101000110100
 000000101100000100100010101
 11110111          101001000
 11010000          111001101
 000000000010110111001110011
 11111011110000000011111001
 10111000
 00010110
0000110110

That would be pretty cool if it were fancied up a touch.

About the eco-system, as of right now there is no evidence that the eco-system is even in development, there is no whitepaper, we are just relying on faith that there really is such a thing. So i would like to know when we can see some evidence of its development/existence.

That is very real concern... All I can say is . . .
. . .buy more Silkcoin. Apparently that's the panacea for every problem raised in this thread.

Which is what concerns me the most. When there is so much hype about promised technologies and the coin thread consists of page after page after page of the dev team telling people to buy more coins and to vote them onto more exchanges. It starts to make things look very much like many of the other vapourware projects that have blown up in recent weeks.

Something of substance is needed here. You don't have to expose any of your supposedly top-secret super-duper soon-to-be-revealed groundbreaking tech, just put up something of substance that can demonstrate that there is actually some meat in this dish.

Well, we've at least established that silkcoin is the first multi-stage pow/pos/pow coin that has performed flawlessly so far.

Dev, you should give a 25% stake of the foundation to whoever can create the snake game as part of the wallet.  That would put this motherfuckin snake on a motherfuckin plane.

Are you saying the dev foresaw the unprofitabillity of the coin and therefore low difficulty when designing block reward and total cap? Fucking coin is broken beyond repair.

No, I'm saying it might balance itself out and that that was the intention.  I don't know, but when I make an investment, I don't trash it, its creator, and other investors for no apparent reason.  It seems counterproductive.
1794  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Slimcoin : Proof of Burn NEW BLOCK GEN, Mineable by low power computer! on: June 11, 2014, 12:17:34 AM
Difficulty of 3-5 is to be expected if the coin picks up. What would the PoW reward be than, 2SLM?
Assuming that's a thing..
3: 4.75
5: 4.18

1. Name one other coin with such low reward.
2. In how many centuries are we going to hit the total cap of 250,000,000 coins? Obviously never because the reward system is broken.

You are ignoring market forces though.  People are only going to mine it if it's profitable.1. Name one other coin with such low reward.

It's probably best to at least wait for tonight's update before attempting to get on an exchange.

i rented nicehash and should have scored but thanks to the asshole that kept outbidding me all the way up to 20btc i only got 1000 since my rig was idle most of the time while i kept increasing my bid. nicehash really needs to figure out a way to make it fair because increasing your bid every 30 seconds isnt doing anybody any good. fucking bullshit. done with nicehash and their 20btc for an hour of mining nonsense.

What if you were the asshole outbidding the other guy?

Sorry, I'm not seeing a variable for nEffectiveBurnCoins and don't have time to dig through the code right now.

Calculate PoW then.

I'm getting 50, so either I'm doing something wrong, or the psuedocode is wrong.  It's probably me.  What do you get?
1798  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Slimcoin : Proof of Burn NEW BLOCK GEN, Mineable by low power computer! on: June 10, 2014, 09:59:44 PM
Here is the pseudocode:
Code:
maxreward = 50 // or 250 for PoB
lower = 0.01
upper = maxreward
while(lower + 0.01 <= upper)  //  this is a loop, so the stuff in the brackets below will be executed over and over until the condition in the parenthesis is no longer met
{
    mid = (lower + upper)/2
    if(mid > maxreward/(diff^(1/4)))
        upper = mid
    else
        lower = mid
}
reward = upper
reward = (reward/100)*100 // cut off decimals below 1 cent

the rest is pretty self explanatory

Entertain me and calculate the PoW reward at difficulty 0.93650019 and PoB reward at the same dif. (as if it matters) and 912,000 burned coins.
Sorry, I'm not seeing a variable for nEffectiveBurnCoins and don't have time to dig through the code right now.

Wouldn't a decreasing reward system as hashrate rises promote stability?  I'm certainly no economist.  Seems like it would keep the hashrate at a nice, consistent middle ground.
