Please bear with me as this is the busiest time in my businesses short history.

Hopefully your business history will remain short, thanks to this thread and the other about your scam.

I think the impact of the 'goings on' on this forum is less than you think.  While it is not insignificant to people like Giga... He does have to worry about forces outside of this bubble intervening in the not-so-far future.

Breaching an existing contract is not an acceptable response to the GLBSE fiasco. The original debt should have been discharged and new contract terms drawn up if James was uncomfortable. Using the GLBSE fiasco as an excuse to unilaterally rewrite an existing contract is no better than what Nefario did or pirate did.
1782  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL - Update 3/4 on: March 06, 2013, 01:59:55 AM
It's funny Smiley. That i am newbie in this forum does nothing to what i am and what i can Smiley. It is not right for me as a company onwer to say that but as far as i know BFL sales  mining equipment since 2011 and they even dont have any prototype yet, and they will ship thausends of them in any moment, very funny. There are some pictures of ASIC miners  like  PCB's and boxes, but no VIDEO that shows  it actualy working! If i have build working one l would make many  videos that shows how it work realtime with statistics, yeah, definetily would  do that like all the good guys in you tube that build bitcoin farms with many GPU's.
for me 67117 is proxy pool with big rejection rate.
It is fine to call me newbie.

I'll not be put in the position of defending BFL. Let em have it, they're completely full of sh1t.

You lose credibility immediately however when you lump jgarzik, friedcat, eleuthria, and bitcoin foundation in with the butterfly cowboys.

This is what Excel predicts:

I actually lol'd when I saw that.  Thanks for the laugh.

If you think that's funny you'll love this new all time high thingy...

$40.90

Edit:

Make that:

$40.90 $41.10

Hello, for those who think GPU is out of business is wrong. Regular FPGA boards just output hash power like RADEON 5770 - 200Mh/s for a hardware cost  5 times 5770, and you still need PC to operate with FPGA board. The long waiting ASIC's never released and probaby not soon, until theese days ASIC's are  considered as scam. But may i have your attention. I have small tech company based in Sofia , Bulgaria (european unit). I made some research on custom hardware for bitcoin mining. The problem is that the good FPGA chips that can output reasonable hash power costs several thausands dolllars each. I found good alternative with one chinese chip manufactorer but still the working prototype will be an expensive investment, at least for me. What i want to build is device that is capable of 2GH/s with own web server and internet connection for pool mining management (because you dont want dedicated PC with the miner) all for retail cost under 500$. The invention will cost around 10,000$ only for materials, my dedicated working hours are not counted and doesnt matter. To reach the 500$ barier two things must be availble- 1st own Pick&place machines (which i dont have), 2nd a good amount of chip order(the more chips, the less the price) for chinese  fabric. A good start is around 130,000$, for prototype, pnp machines, and the chip order. What i have is  a testing equipment.
So if there are persons who want to invest, or donate for my miner all will be welcome. The first 10,000$ will show if it is possible and is considered as risk investment, which i can not return. If the prototype working with the required parametters the money above first 10,000$ will be considered as donation, investment or preorder(every participant can choose what it is). I can't put  my company info and email here because i dont want spam, but i can give all details in personal. Only serios mind please, my english isnt good for that i can't argue with everybody.

Thank you for the time!

1785  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: BFL Minirig seems like a spectacular bargain? on: March 06, 2013, 01:07:30 AM
But you are correct. ASICs are effortless, free money for the masses.. Praise Be!

That would be something.  Amazing even,  if ASIC miners were even real.   Cheesy

Are you suggesting, that the ASIC's are a lie?

I am not suggesting, I am making a clear statement that I do not believe anyone that ordered an ASIC miner (from BFL or Avalon) will ever receive it.  "Jeff" and the "foundation" appear to be low quality fake "evidence".  I see zero "normal" people with youtube accounts that were not created in 1 day with 1 low quality video (IE the "foundation").

Where are the people that have been on youtube for over a month, showing these off?
Please tell me if I am wrong, I would love to see that BFL didn't commit mail fraud.. (again.  He is on probation for mail fraud in the past.)

LOL

Newbs showing up calling bitcoin founders liars. Now there's a credibility gap. There is evidence of ASIC mining gear hitting the network all around you. Just open your eyes and you will see it. Search for the words Avalon and ASICMiner as both have ASIC gear hashing at this time.

1786  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Are the Avalon ASICS shipped or not? on: March 06, 2013, 01:01:16 AM
Another question: if they are shipped why we are not seeing any significant growth of the computation power?

We have seen a growth, but not all units have arrived yet, so we should see a big spike in a week or so.

How do you see the growth? I remember it was 31 Thash/s ca the day of halving and it's still the same. Am I missing something?

Yes, you're missing variance. The network hashrate fluctuates constantly, but it has been growing steadily, in part due to Avalon users receiving units.

As mentioned there are several threads around here that contain posts by people that claim to have received Avalon units, most are in China.

1787  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Overclocking Radeon HD 5830 on: March 06, 2013, 12:42:57 AM
I just setup Radeon HD 5830 card to mine for me and I'm using MSI Afterburner to overclock it.
What's the best set up ?
It's acting pretty strange now, as it is jumping from ~700 khash/s , to around 400 khas/s, ~600 khash/s and then to ~100s Mhash/s    Huh
Im using GUIminer, and here comes the question as well , as im not sure if i have choosen the right options  ( server, device, CPU Affinity, Extra Flags)

Any help appreciated!

Sounds like you're scrypt mining. If you're serious about this venture going forward start with this thread and read it end to end as it's a goldmine of info.

Hm, 67117 secret reveaed, it is proxy pool, probably SLUSH's.

Some kind of detective work there Columbo. Roll Eyes
1789  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL - Update 3/4 on: March 06, 2013, 12:31:31 AM
This whole testing fiasco is really a wonderment.  To lose that many precious (and expensive) chips to only gain a marginal amount of useful information is insane.  At any company I have worked for that kind of decision would have landed someone a pink slip.

To be fair, the cost of a processed 65nm wafer is likely somewhere between $1500-$2000. Not exactly a fortune.
Avalon pays (it is estimated) about 4k per wafer at 110nm.

How is BFL paying half that at 65nm? Somehow your estimates sounds kinda off.

110nm is an old  technology. You cant expect GH from that. If it was possible the miners with Cyclone and Spartan FPGA already can be made. They aren't so dont be fool to be involved in this ASIC hoax. Also 67117 in btcguild is proxy pool.

Umm...since you essentially called friedcat and eleuthria liars and they have just a wee bit more street cred around here than a newb using an account created last week...I'm gonna have to go ahead and ask you for some kind of evidence on this. Nothing personal you understand. Wink

1790  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Has Bitcoin entered a new era? on: March 05, 2013, 11:52:10 PM
I've been reading this forum for a while and it just seems like the general discussion has changed. When I first started piecing together info on bitcoin it seemed like most of the talk focused on government subversion and legal grayness. Now with the reddit adoption obviously bitcoin is more popular than ever but has it finally gained enough traction to be deemed legitimate?

Depends on who you ask, but the tone does seem different around here. The many recent articles and endorsements have seemingly made it more difficult to dismiss BTC as mathematical fairy dust.

Deemed by who?  I say it's pretty legit, but, I guess the day Obama says something about it is the day it's ultra-legit.

...provided what he says is negative. Wink If BO comes out in favor of BTC, I'm dumping half my stash on the spot.

I sold half my coin.

I'll rebuy at 35

I sold a few coins today for the first time in a few weeks. Seems like a good place to take a breather. I'll buy them back this weekend if I can find a decent price.
1794  Economy / Speculation / Re: Silver at 29 ,Bitcoin at 30. this is no-brainer.. on: March 05, 2013, 01:14:28 PM
Soo, let me get this straight.. You guys want us to invest in silver?

Take a look at the short run.. If I had invested 10000$ (my savings) in silver when you posted this thread (at 29$), I would today have earned -20 $ (lost 20 dollars.. If I sold at current price of 28.94)

On the other side, if I invested in Bitcoin, I would have earned 3,333$...

How can you say silver beats Bitcoin? Do you have some insider knowledge about Bitcoin that makes you believe that it will somehow fail? I think not..

My 2c: Leave the PMs for what they are good at, looking pretty and electrical appliances. They are way outdated as a means of exchange..

You're kidding right? You think because silver hasn't done much for a couple weeks that it's a fail? It's been a store of value for thousands of years and you think this is the fortnight that makes or breaks it? The word silver literally means "money" in several languages. An ozt of silver has traded as low as $4.37 and as high as $48.70 within the last ten years. BTC doesn't even have ten years of data points for comparison, but it crashed and many counted it as dead and buried as recently as 2011.

This is not a week long competition, both silver and BTC are fantastic stores of value that complement each other. There's no reason to put all your eggs in a single basket.

Fascinating. Now what if Peter is removed and replaced with the FRBNY? How quickly is that new monopoly money that benji is cooking up being absorbed into the economy? Do you think Paul can help with that? What if he takes out a loan to buy a house? If banks aren't lending and/or people aren't borrowing while money(debt) is being destroyed through credit defaults then where's the mechanism that creates debt greater than previous debt? Cash for clunkers v2.0 anyone?

What you're suggesting is that either helicopter ben did not produce all those dollars seen in the chart above AND he's lying when he says he's printing(QE infinity) or those dollars have not yet trickled down to the peasants in the street yet...a function of velocity. It's this velocity factor that allows for both inflation and deflation to exist simultaneously. The economy of a country as large as the US is a complicated animal.

You gulp up lots of newspeak here, confusing every topic you touch, and use it to argue that I can not understand economy? If you think that inflation and deflation can exist simultaneously, does that make you a great economist?

Yeah your peter & paul story makes it very clear how firmly you grasp economic theory. Sorry to involve complex concepts...like credit. Clearly that doesn't exist either as otherwise peter or paul would've borrowed in your all encompassing epic.

The concept under discussion here is money velocity. I claim that this concept only tells the speed at which people change their minds, and it is not useful to decide the price of money. Only the number of money available, and the public's preferences for holding money decides the price of money.

IOW interest rates have zero bearing on the price of money. OKIE DOKE. We're done here.

It's good, but it's becoming weird that we can't pass the 4 Thash/s line. I wonder where is the problem.

I wouldn't be so sure ASICMiner hasn't passed 4Th. This is the HOF at ozco.in:
