17961  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Nefario GLBSE on: September 22, 2012, 10:45:52 PM
The one thing I hope this thread accomplishes, is stopping Goat from listing future assets on the GLBSE.
17962  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: GLBSE - request for next features on: September 22, 2012, 08:41:50 PM
Would more liquidity appear if trading fees were shared on glbse ?  For example if someone buys shares the seller splits the cost of the fees 50/50 rather than just one side paying all the fees.

How would that improve liquidity?  That would remove one of the benefits of leaving an open order on the exchange.  I think it would have a negative effect on liquidity and result in more volatility and destabilization of assets.
17963  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] NASTY - No Operator Costs, Free Electricity, Free ASIC Upgrade! on: September 22, 2012, 05:53:12 PM
A dividend of BTC14.3 has been paid.
17964  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] NASTY - No Operator Costs, Free Electricity, Free ASIC Upgrade! on: September 22, 2012, 02:32:19 AM
I've updated the "current price" to say "last price" to remove any confusion.

UPDATE:
Thanks to Nefario adding dividend information to the API, Dividend Yield & P/E Ratio are now completely automated.  I've also added a new automated statistic showing the total number of shares on the market.  In addition to those automated updates, I will be manually updating the newly added Dividends Paid statistic.  When combined with the Coins Mined statistic, shareholders will be able to estimate what the next dividend will be beforehand.
17965  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: GLBSE 2.0 open for testing on: September 21, 2012, 04:13:26 AM
Nefario,
Any idea when the last dividend paid per share will be added to the public api?  It would make me any my shareholders very happy.

Thanks for adding this Nefario!  You are the man.
17966  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Butterfly Labs CEO 25 Million USD Mail Fraud — A Concise Summary of Evidence on: September 21, 2012, 02:40:45 AM
This development is concerning.  It reminds me of when someone dug up the pirateat40 check fraud thing long before the default.  People for the most part don't change.  Hopefully legitimate business is more profitable than scamming, or this could spell trouble.
17967  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bounty for attracting investors on: September 20, 2012, 01:04:16 AM
I think we should try and keep the price low for a while longer.  I'm still in accumulation mode.  I currently only share Bitcoin with close friends.  I'll start pitching it to strangers when I'm sitting on 10,000+ of them in my own personal wallet.
17968  Economy / Speculation / Re: When will we see the 157k BTC BID wall again? on: September 20, 2012, 12:59:52 AM
Maybe it was a signal Like, "Hey guys! I'm done selling, so go ahead and let the correction commence, FFS!"   Undecided

I think it was someone who wanted to get into the market and wasn't familiar with it.  He/she probably thought the liquidity was there and they wanted to buy in at that price.  They're most likely now slowly buying in.  The question is, how high will the market go with a 150K injection of new funds?
17969  Economy / Speculation / Re: How high? on: September 20, 2012, 12:57:22 AM
And what worries me is that you're always worried. Stop that.

The market needs a wall of worry to keep climbing.  When everyone else is no longer worried, I get worried.
17970  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: GLBSE 2.0 open for testing on: September 20, 2012, 12:52:35 AM
Nefario,
Any idea when the last dividend paid per share will be added to the public api?  It would make me any my shareholders very happy.
17971  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Project will be making a major announcement in September on: September 19, 2012, 09:59:38 PM
Someone in irc kept claiming 0.7 was it.  That's the reason for all the questions.
17972  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Project will be making a major announcement in September on: September 19, 2012, 05:25:37 AM
Was 0.7 the announcement?  I can't find anything "major" about it.  Am I missing something or is the announcement still pending?
17973  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Notice of fee change on GLBSE on: September 19, 2012, 04:55:14 AM
PPoweredP - You seem a little too miffed considering it was my BTC along with others that was lost.  It's Nefario's site, his rules.  I'd like to see my BTC0.8 returned, but it isn't worth it to me for Nefario to be labeled a scammer if it isn't.  I'll consider it a donation to the GLBSE, which I use quite a bit.
17974  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] 8x x6500 FPGAs (3.2GH/s) - priced to sell quickly on: September 18, 2012, 01:35:28 AM
Will these work with cgminer?
17975  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Notice of fee change on GLBSE on: September 18, 2012, 01:22:43 AM
I'd like to see announcements like this made through the GLBSE mail feature as well as the forum.  I've never gotten mail through the GLBSE and it seems like that would be a logical place for these kinds of announcements.
17976  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: FREE raffle for 20 BTC, just answer a quick survey. on: September 18, 2012, 01:18:24 AM
Answered the survey.  Definitely worth it for a chance at BTC20!
17977  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Crowdfunding for School Project (GLBSE Asset for Economics class) on: September 18, 2012, 01:10:54 AM
I will make sure that the first 2 securities purchased by the fund are IBB and NASTY.

I'm in for 1 share.  Sending payment now with the condition that if your fund isn't listed by October 1st, I will be refunded.
17978  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] NASTY - No Operator Costs, Free Electricity, Free ASIC Upgrade! on: September 18, 2012, 12:44:06 AM
Someone complained about my link to GPUMAX, BTCST & even accused me of being pirateat40 himself.  For that reason I severed all ties with pirateat40, including the pirate in my avatar.  I will make sure to mention future avatar changes in this thread and my reasoning behind them.

I assume you are referring to my comment on the previous page. I just want to make it clear that I was not seriously accusing you of being pirate, nor was I complaining. If my humor failed to register, I am sorry, I included the smiley face animation as a way to indicate my lack of seriousness, but that doesn't always work I realize.

I fully believe you to be your own person, and in no way a sock puppet/alter-ego of pirate.
 Smiley

No worries.  Your post generated a few additional private messages on the subject, so I felt it should be addressed since other shareholders were concerned enough to ask about it.

OP's "Current Price" = GLBSE's "Latest Price".

Looks accurate to me.

Exactly.  The amount also updates every 10 minutes and if the GLBSE API goes down for some reason, it uses the last price that was taken from the API.  This is an automated script.  I am not sure why kuzetsa thinks it is some kind of conspiracy.
17979  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] NASTY - No Operator Costs, Free Electricity, Free ASIC Upgrade! on: September 16, 2012, 02:49:33 AM
Huh  what?!

we're not using GPUMAX anymore?

No, we aren't.  After BTCST defaulted, GPUMAX went several days without making payments for our mining.  I also noticed that the shares being submitted weren't accurately being reflected in the GPUMAX statistics.  That was a major concern, and I still can't understand why people are using GPUMAX after learning that the operator is a confirmed scammer that made off with nearly $5,000,000 worth of BTC.  The announcement was made on this thread.  Here is the link to that post: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=86854.msg1141383#msg1141383

Below is a list of coins mined during the last dividend period.  As you can see, there appears to have been some sort of outage on the 13th thru the 14th.  I cannot explain that outage definitively yet, but wanted to post the information I have available to try and calm the nerves of investors and add transparency to the operation.
