Just tried to mod the Vegas'soft power play table using a given registry on Hellae's Vega post I think. Unfortunately it didn't work: Windows boots but the display is completely garbled and ends up re-booting.
Now I'm stuck in that loop. I'd love to be able to force a boot into safe mode and run DDU but looks like Windows 10 is not allowing that anymore. If you have any ideas (short of me having to reinstall Windows alltogether), fire away.
Windows re-install isn't the end of the world. You could try booting with another gpu or igpu and then delete the table out of your registry May try flipping the bios switch on the card and see if somehow that gets you around it.

First time I've got stuck in a while. Looking for suggestions.
Started a new build. Ryzen 5 ROG Strix B350-F Gaming 1000 watt ps 16g ram
Right now it just has a 56 and a 64 in it. They're on risers. I can boot and post with each one individually on their own risers but not together. When attempting to boot together I can't even make it to Bios and I have no activity lights on the card. The cards do turn on and fans spin.
Bios is updated to latest version. One thing I noticed is I can't flash it to previous versions. In the Bios, for the life of me I can't find 4g or pci-e gen's. But even without those settings, I'd expect to post with two cards. Power Supply? Bad Motherboard? Something super simple?

Hello once again i trying to get my new rig workin with 3x vega 56 flashed to 64, two of them without problems mining together , but last card even tho it was flashed right and reflashed black to retail and back to 64bios everytime i start mining with it even if i dont use other 2x cards teh screen start tearin and pc restarts eventually , the card works normaly on everything else than miming .. tryed it solo on another pc had the same problém just with mining could it be bricked ? it loads normally and all... Little confused. Does is it lock up on the 64 bios or stock 56? Or both? Try mining with just the Stock 56 bios. If you've already tried that, flip the bios switch and try it with the other stock bios that is on the card. I've had a few cards that just don't liked to be flashed to 64 AIOs

What is being discusses as the main topic?
Buying or selling hashpower?
*Buying. Well if someone want's new coins that are not on exchanges yet, and lack hardware, it is a good option.
* = the reason why I pointed my rigs at nicehash for some time during the first few days of ETN. So many orders were being placed for cryptonight hash that it was impossible to stay away.

Bitcoin if it drops in the 5000 range.
This!!! ^ ^ ^ I just finished my alt shopping...some of them will hopefully be converted to BTC after the fork once they bounced back up. I believe, anyone planning on shopping for alts after the fork need to review their strategy. If they are after the fork coin (S2X) it is a risk to unload right away since we don't know which will be the king. I know BTC is king but...this time, there is that small chance that the fork may win. Imagine the horror if you sold it cheap... and you are left with the "alt". Agreed. Been buying XMR, ETH and some dreaded XRP before the fork. XMR is already working out nicely. Post fork, will be looking at what BTC prices do. As well as the same old alts - XMR, ETH, XRP

so, is it worth to waste the time to set it up on the flawlessly working 6 Vega 64 XMR-STAK rig ? The only real improvement I see while running it on 1 Vega test rig are the temps in the console (which I definitely like a lot tbh ).
I've been enjoying Cast's nicehash support these last few days. The premium there lately over straight xmr mining has been well worth it.

omg no buy vega 56, $399 right now they hash at 40 eth vs 31 and cost the same and make even more mining cryptonight
Thanks for your answer. Are you sure about hashrate? I bought XFX Radeon RX Vega 64 8G HBM2 XT Air Cooled Black Edition 2 weeks ago, for testing purposes and today I returned it back to shop for 2 reasons: - on Windows 7 64bit was hashing only 36MH/s average (max. 39 for short while). - on simplemining OS it wasn't working at all Yes. If you read https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2002025.0 you can figure it out. I believe best I've seen is 44 mh/s at 150 watts

I think, you can stick with AMD card to mining Ethereum. You can choose AMD RX Vega. It can produce approximately 70 MH/s. But one thing you must consider, mining with AMD card, sometimes you must regularly check the drivers update version.
lol lol = you won't even come close to hitting 70 mh/s currently.

I have 2 RX VEGA 56.
I have tried both the stock and and I have also flashed the 64 bios.
I have tried all versions of this miner and all possible settings.
Initially, the miner starts at the expected speed. However, after a time interval that varies from 10 to 60 min, the speed drops by about 10% and stays like that stable.
For example, on the stock bios at -10% power, -4% GPU and 945 ram, I start at 1950 H/s and it then drops to about 1800.
The same happens at other power/ram/gpu settings, it always drops by about 10% after a while.
The same also happens with xmr-stak-amd
I am also mining equihash on the same machine with two GTX 1070s. Could this be the cause for the drop?
Any help appreciated.
As others have mentioned, be mindful of your temps. HBM is pretty sensitive. If you're seeing it on both cast and xmr-stak, it could very well be hbm getting too hot

Was on my vacations while my small rig with 2 vega64 lc and 1 vega56 air was running happily with 5 extra nvidia cards. vega 64 lc are running 1408/1160@875mv, vega56 is running 1408/1148@875mv. miner is cast-xmr, perfectly stable for a week. vega64lc are averaged to 2070h/s, vega56 is averaged to 2000h/s. I didn't retest power consumption but it is low, my estimation is 140-150 watt for vega56 and 150-160watt for vega64lc Now I'm back and happy that cast-xmr supports nicehash )) didn't wanna bother with etn mining directly ))
Hope you enjoyed your vacation! Ditto on the cast-xmr supporting nicehash. Nice little run we're having there.

For cryptonight, both my gpus and cpu are showing up as 0kh/s on nicehash while they work fine on nanopool. anyone have any ideas whats wrong? my equihash gpu is working on nicehash though
for nicehash cryptonight I'm using amd stak xmr and cpu stak xmr
I was having some connection issues as well. Sometimes Nicehash accepted rates were 1-2kh/s slower than what I was doing on nanopool. I ran it over night and even with the lower accepted hash, I was making more on a daily basis. Like others have said, we will see how long this party lasts. I'm guessing its done by the weekend.

Has anyone switched off Monero and onto something else?
Monero has been great for me the last few months. Just curious if anyone has played with any coins besides xmr or eth
Edit - just looked at whattomine 1080ti. My revenue off monero is still beating this card. So I think I just answered my own question

Not sure if this is the right thread or not.
Any thoughts or rumors on Coinbase adding Monero? I'm really starting to enjoy this coin and have been adding to my position around the $85 mark.

So im running 2 vega 64s and 2 vega 56 flashed to 64 bios. Did soft power play registry. Im getting about 7700-7900. but some times it seems to drop to around 7600. Other problem being my total power at the wall ATM is 940W seems high to me. my sysem idle is around 50-60w. Any ideal on howto bring the power down to the 130w even 150w each?
Sounds like your powerplay edit didn't set properly or at least the voltages. Make sure your "memory" volts are set equal to your core

so, you made a miner from an opensource xmr stak miner that uses wolf's cryptonight kernel ?
Hahaha was thinking this exact thing. Staying away from this one for now

Surprised no one has said just buy ETH, if that's what you're after. Regardless of what you do, you're looking at 200+ days to hit ROI. Difficulty rising, rewards just dropped, POS etc. You may just want to invest.

Always good to see another miner. Like others have said, multiple instances appear to affect hash rates. I'm getting strong initial hashes that fall over time and settle in the 1800 range.
Will definitely keep an eye on this project. Looking forward to your multi gpu version. For now though, I'm sticking with xmr-stak-amd

Good to see a vega specific miner. I will give it a shot this weekend
