181  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [ANNOUNCE] Open source MtGOX PHP API Class on: July 26, 2012, 03:34:34 PM
Just a note guys: Apparantly this still works, MtGox hasn't removed the version 0 API yet, so the wrapper should still function without error.

183  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Litecoin - a lite version of Bitcoin. Launched! on: July 26, 2012, 02:08:35 PM
Liteco.in's server - Updated.
Thanks coblee.
184  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: What do you do with mined coins? on: July 26, 2012, 03:35:15 AM
I never convert my bitcoins back to USD, instead I either hoard, invest, or use the bitcoins to pay for services.
185  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [ANNOUNCE] BuyBIT - Unofficial .bit registrar on: July 25, 2012, 06:43:20 PM
Officially Closed. Site gone.
186  Economy / Auctions / Re: BuyBit (Domain/source code) on: July 19, 2012, 03:38:20 AM
These rights were what I was referring to:

Release the code as open source,
re-sell the code under non-disclosure

So you retain those rights and the buyer has those rights too, right?
Pretty much
187  Economy / Auctions / Re: BuyBit (Domain/source code) on: July 17, 2012, 02:57:26 PM
Does the winner of this auction obtain full exclusivity to the source code or do you reserve the right to sell to future buyers?

Full disclosure: I have already purchased a copy of the source code and SQL table structure, with no user data or wallet information.
Previous NDA with you is still valid, the winner essentially gets the right to "override" that NDA and allow you to release the code as you like, but is not allowed to revoke your permission to use the code.
The winner does get mostly full exclusivity to the source, although I still retain most rights to the code and am able to for example:
Release the code as open source, re-sell the code under non-disclosure, and use the code in my own personal projects as I require.
The winner gets the same rights as above, although these may change if the winner strongly disagrees with my licensing.
188  Economy / Auctions / Re: Liteco.in domain on: July 17, 2012, 02:42:51 PM
I'd love to know your intentions on bidding so much for the domain -_-
189  Economy / Auctions / BuyBit (Domain/source code) on: July 17, 2012, 12:21:23 AM
I've been neglecting the service for a while and haven't really had time to make it a more usable site, so I'm auctioning off the site, starting at BTC1.5
The purchase will include the domain (buybit.sv.gd), the SQL dump, the namecoin and bitcoin wallet.dat, as well as the source code for the site.

Bidding ends on the 21st of July 00:00:00 and will go to the highest bidder.
190  Economy / Auctions / Re: Liteco.in domain on: July 14, 2012, 10:46:59 AM
It would be great if people would mention what they would do with the domain if they get it.
Yeah, I'm wondering this too, not sure what others would do with it, I'm the current "maintainer" of liteco.in, so I'd hate to see the domain get neglected if it goes into the wrong hands.
191  Bitcoin / Project Development / [ANNOUNCE] BitcoinTERROR - Get paid for playing an FPS on: June 23, 2012, 08:55:43 PM

Sign up today! - Play and earn BTCitcoins!

BitcoinTERROR is a server for a somewhat well known First Person Shooter called UrbanTerror, but there's a twist, for every kill you get a certain amount of bitcoins depending on which server you're on, and if you die, you lose bitcoins to the other player.

The payouts

RED - Your loss if you die
GREEN - Your win if you kill someone

  • 5.9.242.109:27960 - 0.02 BTC 0.02 BTC
  • 5.9.242.109:27961 - 0.0095 BTC - 0.01 BTC
  • 5.9.242.109:27962 - 0.095 BTC - 0.1 BTC

What about cheaters/hackers?
Server 1 and 3 only has a knife and grenades, meaning aimbots wouldn't be too useful, we may take action against cheaters on server 2 if we recieve a lot of complaints, but otherwise, using cheating mods is perfectly fine unless we change the rules later on.

Server information
The server is located in Germany, although if the game becomes more popular, more locations will be available.

Support
We have an IRC channel over on Freenode  - irc.freenode.net - #bitcointerror - Feel free to join and talk there.

Altcoin support
Altcoins are soon to be supported depending on the popularity of the game, I myself am planning on hosting the Litecoin server if the game reaches a large audience, but otherwise we're sticking to Bitcoin.
192  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: So sad to see !! on: June 23, 2012, 05:47:26 PM
People really are desperate enough for just 1LTC... So far we've added blacklisting (efnet rbl, spamhaus, a few others), with a personal blacklist as-well, a sliding adscaptcha, and since it uses a round system, they also need at least 20 addresses and different IP's in the round before they can even get a pay out.
Oh, and recently the actual wallet system got nuked with over 2000 new wallets, partly due to googlebot, but also some other asshole spamming it to hell, so I've added another captcha there.
193  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will bitcoin ASIC mining lead to litecoin or namecoin adoption ? on: June 23, 2012, 05:33:32 PM
It seems to me if GPU or FPGA will be useless mining bitcoin that they might look at mining on alt chains provided there is some return rather than selling the cards. Can you mine alt coins with an ASIC ? It seems if theres a change in the algo they are useless ?
but namecoin isnt a change in algo last time i checked, it was just a seperate chain
Yeah, NMC uses the same algorithm as bitcoin, the only difference is that it has a different use to bitcoin (i.e. buying .bit's)
194  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Error compiling from Githead on: June 08, 2012, 04:36:04 AM
That's not an error, that's just a few warnings, if you run ls -l in the src dir, you'll see bitcoind is there, you can then just sudo cp bitcoind /usr/bin/bitcoind to "install" it.
195  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Private key extraction on: June 08, 2012, 04:34:23 AM
cd "C:\Program Files\Bitcoin\"
Slightly wrong, you need to
Code:
cd "C:\Program Files\Bitcoin\daemon"
and if you're on 64-bit
Code:
cd "C:\Program Files (x86)\Bitcoin\daemon"
196  Bitcoin / Project Development / [ANNOUNCE] Satoshi Dice simulator (includes martingale bot simulator) on: June 06, 2012, 04:03:43 AM
https://github.com/Someguy123/satoshidice-php

This was just something I've quickly set up, everything you need to know is in the README, and the code is (mostly) documented in comments aswell.

function.php contains the PHP version of the number generator that satoshidice uses, aswell as a game simulator that uses that function.
simulator.php is a martingale bot that uses the function.php dice simulator and is mostly customizable.

Released under UNLICENSE (public domain) so you can use it in any way you want to without issues Smiley
197  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: PHP martingale bot for satoshiDICE on: June 04, 2012, 09:32:59 PM
Be careful.

As other users have pointed out, no matter what strategy you use (including martingale progression), you can never overcome the casino's mathematical advantage (Law of Large Numbers). Over the long term the house always wins.
And, equally importantly, the longer you postpone the house's win, the more the house wins. (Because with every wager you place, the house's expected profit goes up.)

Indeed, careful folks Wink I was screwing around with a slightly modified version of this, bet small amounts over the course of a week and got up about 35 BTC. Then the smackdown came and lost 20 BTC in relatively quick succession. I decided to call it good and stop as I was still ahead. This is precisely what you would expect to happen. Over the long term, your expected return is ~98% or whatever, depending on the game, meaning if you play long enough, you will consistently lose 2%.

Have fun, be safe Smiley

this is almost my exact experience... very slow climb to +50, sudden smack down back to +30, and then quit about a week ago Cheesy

don't want to be one of those people who end up putting their car / their house on the line!

yeah, I went full retard, I got to 50BTC, went to 17BTC due to them doublespending me or some other bug, then I slowly climbed back to 50BTC... then BAM, huge loss streak on the 50% dice, which brought me to 0.
I'm now broke.

Feel free to facepalm at my long loss streaks =_=
198  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [ANNOUNCE] BuyBIT - Unofficial .bit registrar on: June 03, 2012, 11:59:25 PM
Just a quick update: A lot of domains are getting "stuck" for some reason, and are refusing to be firstupdated. Generally in this case I'm giving refunds and removing/resetting the domain from your account.
Currently waiting on khalahan to patch this issue or something.

If your domain has been stuck for more than 24hrs and want me to refund you, just let me know in the thread, PM me, or email admin at sv.gd
199  Economy / Gambling / Re: SatoshiDICE.com - Verified rolls, up to 64,000x winning on: June 02, 2012, 06:53:20 PM
I made a bunch of bets last night, the winnings showed up in my wallet right aways(blockchain.info), But this morning all my winnings are gone! I'm down almost 2BTC from last night. All my bets were placed with 1RezNoRKTt6UQXiAq6Xd7cLmMbrtdF4dF
I feel your pain bro, that's exactly what happened to me today:
I've lost over 33BTC due to satoshidice giving me TX's that never confirmed.
All my tx's were from 1LnSD2xBieJQaKXS3EtjTdWUEhkct68jAU if you want to find my other TX's that went poof.
here's an example that disappeared due to 0 confirms for me: http://www.satoshidice.com/full.php?tx=e777029b3a87fcd904fadbca4f3020d817c75a9cce2c77840b40f36ffe3cd7fa

EDIT: DAMMN... http://www.satoshidice.com/lookup.php?tx=1LnSD2xBieJQaKXS3EtjTdWUEhkct68jAU
so many pending T_T
200  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Satoshi dice is broken? on: June 02, 2012, 06:40:26 PM
all my previous TX's to satoshidice don't even exist,

A transaction that later ended up being an invalid double spend would still show in the client as 0/unconfirmed.

What client are you using?
Blockchain.info's wallet
