181  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 1080Ti Specific - Best mining option on: September 18, 2017, 02:42:35 PM
I actually never saw a single 1080Ti running without crashing with mem above +500. Most of them have problem with +400...
OTOH , the only 2 GTX-1080 (Not Ti) I have can run with +700 without crashing.
When everyone will understand that there is no +XXX on one GPU equal to +XXX on another?
Especially if you set P0 state.

Never, people are throwing some offsets of mem core and +% of power limit not knowing that these numbers alone meaning absolutely nothing. On one card +100 could be 1950 on other 1800mhz even the very same model. Also most of the high end cards(no matter the chip series) go different default TDP. For example, lowest 1070 got, 151W TDP, Jetstream got 170W, Zotac Amp Extreme got 250W, so 60% of each is totally different number!

Conclusion: People are jsut stupid and dont realize that little knowledge could increase their efficiency and profit!

About the Hash refinery pool and yiimp clones, best you can do is to mine algos with short block, like skein, nist5 and neoscrypt. WhyTF they mine lyra2v2 hitting 10 blocks per day, or skunk hitting five blocks per day or X17 hitting 30 blocks per day when neoscrypt for example is hitting 20-30 per hour! Use this: http://pool.hashrefinery.com/site/multialgo. If you want to play lottery there better places.

Bet almost nobody disable P2 states on their Nvidia cards...
Disabling P2 on 5x1080ti (3 diff brands) nets me 1-2% increase in hashrate at expense of 2-3% power usage - not worth for me, especially that it matters mostly in memory intensive algorithms which, as all we know, 1080ti are lackluster with.
For Your point with different values for different brands - almost any comment here, about OC settings includes card's brand. It's really important because different manufacturers uses different clocks/memory speeds, overclocks them by factory and so on.
There are even differences between 3 cards I own from same manufacturer (MSI Gaming X) Base mem clock of 2 are 11124 while the third one's 11117mh. It's not a lot of diff but still. It'd affect OC settings of those cards. And about TDP value, it's ALWAYS different between brands. I was shocked first, when I've assumed 250W for 100% TDP Zotac Amp Extreme Core -  PFFFFF, 320W easily Cheesy
So basic conclusion:
-Always get different OC settings between different brands
-Always check THOSE EXACT CARD TDP value
-Even between one manufacturer's production cards could have different base clocks AND could OC differently

Or save yourself the trouble and buy the same gpus.

Clearly both of dont know what you are talking about. Which was the reason for my post.

Clearly you have your head so far up your ass it is affecting your ability to read.

Promise me you will post a picture with your head in your ass if i send you photos of completely the same GPU-s with 150mhz different clocks, also a higher end 1070 with lower boost clock then lower end gpu of the same chip series.
Well, that's exactly what I've wrote... That one MSI Gaming X have -17mh on memory. They are of a same batch, but still they OC differently.
I don't understand why some guys have so butthurt. You have something to say? Just do it, don't be salty.
Well, clearly, I'll be doing my master in IT but i don't have ANY clue what I'm talking about.
Have a nice day Smiley

They should inform the visitor about that.
Anyways it's not a bad thing to do, they deserve some funds Smiley

The way you guys replied here at my thread seems like not a big deal at all so it goes the same way for me now. Thanks
Well, obviously the title of article is a little overreacted. That code act really similliar to any advertising code implemented on any website (Hail Google).

Anyone else having problem with staking?? Using v1.0.1.1-g wallet

Please make sure that your wallet is unlocked for staking, if it is unlocked already then please restart wallet, you will get paid in 1 hour.
Make sure you have staking=1 in conf file
Also please note that wallet should be online 24/7

-support team

Done this multiple times Sad
Does split of blocks after first stake affect this?

ANYONE ELSE HERE FREAKING OUT ABOUT ONLY PROFITING 1.00 USD PER 1080TI CAR, ROI WILL BE PURCHASE PRICE. #DEAD

Lmao- 1070 is making $1.30 a day and 1080ti is making $2 haha well based on Whattomine

As of last night my two 1080 Ti's were earning $9 per day (combined) and my 1070 was on about $2.50. Using multipool miners. I think I'm fine

How do you do that? I can't get more than $2 per GTX 1080 Ti lately.
On algo switching (Sniffdog) I've got 0.0062 (it's confirmed and paid balance) btc for 5x on hashrefinery. 0.001/card = ~3$ at least

Unfortunately i do not know how to set a miner. Can someone give me more details or help me to setting miner for Solaris?
.bat -
ccminer -a nist5 -o http://127.0.0.1:18921 -u Wallet -p X
solariscoin.conf -
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
rpcport=18921
rpcuser=Wallet
rpcpassword=X
daemon=1
server=1
listen=1
mining=1
addnode=185.183.99.171
addnode=185.183.99.19
For pool mining You need to change -o parameter in .bat for pool address and -u & -p to match Your worker's credentials

If you are going to do a new coin with masternodes, I think it is best to do it X11, it will be better for your network. This NIST5 thing will probably mean you have pretty low hash rate forever.
well, 30GH seen lately in nist5 is not a low hashrate...
on avg. 1080ti does 40MH ea, so 30GH equals roughtly 750x 1080ti
It would take couple of BIG alt rigs warehouses to destroy network.

1080ti  should do aprox 70 mh/s,   you need update your mining software I think.
Yeah, mb, around 80mh with OC, so it's half less, still pretty big amount.

How many XLR for a masternode? Has this been decided yet? I would love to secure some masternodes in advance.
Same here, really like how Solaris is staking now so I'll add bunch more.
Also when/if swap happens - it'll go by any ratio or 1:1 ?
193  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: system parts, power consumption on: September 10, 2017, 11:06:53 AM
Hi & thanks

By "system parts", I actually meant everything outside GPU

I will be using OC'ed 1080 Ti (Asus Rog Strix OC or Zotac Amp Extreme / Amp Extreme Core). I am targeting about 285W for each of these.

About risers, I had once read they would consume 50W each (all in all 330W for OC'ed 1080 Ti + risers) but you're saying it's rather unsignificant and this figure could be wrong ?

What I really would like to figure out is if it's better to feed everything "system" related (mobo+cpu+ssd) on a single primary PSU or if it's okay practice to use a secondary PSU for cpu+Ssd+extra. Are there advantages / disavantadges ?

By TDP, do you mean theorical consumption divided by PSU efficiency, then make sure it's <70% of theorical advertised PSU power ?
For instance, my plan was to feed 2 x OC'ed 1080Ti + mobo/cpu/ssd on a single eVGA 850 P2. I initally assumed 330W x 2 + 150W (system) = 810W aka 95.3% of 850W (efficiency of PSU not taken into account)

All that because I was first told I would be fine up to 90%-95% load of the PSU and when I made some cost analysis, I figured out I would lose money if buying higher W PSUs just to get closer to 50%-60% load (highest peak of PSU efficiency) and that 85% load would probably be a top spot against normal prices (without discount) of PSU products. Lastly, I conluded I should go for Platinum PSU as mandatory (quite an efficiency increase above Gold leading to cost savings in the long run) but forget about Titanium. I must emphasize that my electricity cost is $0.11 / kWh

Any comments welcomed since I am "starting". Have a nice sunday
To be on good side you should calculate:
Low end cpu - 50w
Ram - 5W each stick
SSD/HDD - 10w each
So safe assume is 75w for system.
Risers can pull up tu 75w each from PSU but the power loss on risers is really low (about 1-2W) rest goes throuth x16 pcie to power card.
You could easily do your configuration. I have 2x1080ti on 750w B PSU and 3x on 850w G PSU. Stable and working.

Recently I became aware that Komodo is giving 5% interest to their holders. This is not POS in the traditional sense I suppose. The interest stops accruing on the account after 1 year also if the $KMD is not moved. Novel idea.
Same as Bitcore, 3% every monday on holded balance (but it's something as airdrop, need at least 10BTX in wallet). Any one know similliar projects?
195  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Only 210 Watts from my mining rig?! on: September 08, 2017, 11:28:34 AM
No, you must have more or less 500 h/s in 1070 for Cryptonight, try to overclock/underclock  and miner app must be tweaked eg. intensities, however, are you mining for profit? if yes, then you can check http://whattomine.com on which profitable coin to their list, Cryptonight is not as profitable compared  Zec  for 1070.
Using the latest release ccminer, tweaking the miner app is some next level stuff that I've never even heard of lol. And no, I am just new coin hopping here and there as they get announced on the forum. What overclock/underclock settings do you recommend for the 1070?
From what You wrote I assume that You breaked Your OC settings. Sometimes card will go on +250cc, other times it won't go over +100cc. The key here is try and error. If you get such low hashrate's You could be over OC limit.

Only micron makes gddrx5 memory,they are on 1080 and 1080ti.Samsung make for 1070
Yeah but what tdp means was that even that those cards have same memory it's still silicon lottery. I have 3x1080ti Gigabyte Gaming X, on same OC, on skein they hash: 930/945/970
It's not a lot difference but 3x lowest vs 3x highest  would make some diff (~120mh).

Skein sp-mod #1 has just been released with a nice speedup on the gxtx 1080ti. (0.05 btc.)

pm for details.
What does this 'nice speedup' means?
198  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: MSI Z270 SLI Plus 8 Cards using M.2 Adapters on: September 06, 2017, 01:49:10 PM
I'm shocked you got even one m.2 to work! I could find zero info on teh MSI Z270 SLI PLUS and m.2 adapters. I finally just ordered 2 to put the question to rest. DOES NOT WORK.
The A pro version is good, that's the only confirmed 8 gpu variant of the z270 sli plus.
I watched a Bits Be Trippin' video and bought everything he listed. I found that the sli plus is NOT an ideal mobo and i should've bought the h110 Btc+ and been done with it.
If you somehow got this to work, PLEASE let me know what you did. There are no m.2 bios settings in the sli plus like there are in the A pro
While i was disappointed, i did NOT expect the m.2 adapters to work on this mobo. Like i said, the lack of specific m.2 settings in bios was a dead giveaway. $20 to test and not even, i requested a refund and amazon is awesome so sending them back tomorrow. A free experiment to put this to rest once and for all.

I am personally waiting to see how the ethereum mining scene shakes down come november when block rewards are cut AND difficulty STOPS increasing. If it looks good still? I'll buy a Asrock h110 and 2 more 1060s. If not? Eh, no big deal

Yes BBT is the BOSS! if you are willing to spend a few more bucks, Asus prime Z270 A/AR can do at least 8 cards on windows, I have set up 3 rigs with this MB. The MB came with 7 slots, you only need to purchase a M.2 adapter from eBay to get 8 cards going. I also have my first rig with MSI z270 sli plus, no luck getting the 7th cards to work. I also have a few rig using MSI Z270 A Pro MB, I am struggling to get 6 cards running on windows. Hoping someone can give me a piece of advice on how to make it run properly. I have a black screen with installing the 6th cards. Many people said it can be fix by installing the windows on UEFI mode. But how to install on UEFI mode? I have the USB drive installing in UEFI mode already. Is there anything else that I need to change in the MB BIOS? thank you.

Yes, you have to change setting in BIOS, find boot mode and change it to UEFI.
Most MOBO's will have now Windows 8/10 Installation compatible or something like this to enable UEFI boot mode (It's same case as when some mobo's need to change this setting to Win7 to boot from disk/usb to install it)

Thank you  @starl1ng . Of course we will pay you bounty for that .

Thank you. Yes, i saw the message you quoted. And that's why i proposed to create a .deb package, it assures that a user would have all required packages installed. And Ubuntu is a good start as it will cover lots of users with Ubuntu/Mint and maybe Debian.
I've already tried to compile on Raspbian and latest Ubuntu Mate for Pi, but both attempts failed Sad
On Ubuntu tho, I've managed to compile wallet but can't get it running because of lack of .conf file (but I've created one Cheesy). Any ideas how to get it working? Smiley
200  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Solo mineable currencies with 2x 1080ti on: September 04, 2017, 09:57:38 PM
With 1 block per day you could go with any nist5 algo coin.
1080ti does really good with it, and with ~160mh you can get 2+% in any network depending on diff.
Got 5x1080ti, different brands in one rig. When solo mining it's really You vs Luck game. My cards can't find a block for few hours, then got few in one hour (depending on block spacing it could even go up 10% of blocks in hour). It's not as consistent as pool mining, and if You like watching console as time pass every X hours You'll get frustrated a lot when You see a blocks with 100-200 diff and not even one in wallet and then one card pulling 1.4k with 800+ diff. Just pure luck.
Depending on project you choose you can get even more blocks with 2 cards.
