So to get free coins I have to provide full personal details and connect with Facebook (which I don't use) and give them my phone details.

Piss off!  Angry

Anyone know why there was a price increase on btc38 today? Almost 20% gain on DGC  Smiley
183  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's your biggest problem with Bitcoin on: September 19, 2015, 06:18:35 PM
I don't have any real problems with Bitcoin.

However, I do find not enough retailers accept bitcoin yet. I have suggested using Bitpay to several large retailers, but for some reason they are not interested. Given that they can get paid in fiat anyway when using Bitpay this puzzles me.

185  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [UNO] Unobtanium Info & Discussion - Update to 0.10 Wallet - Merge Mine w/BTC! on: August 25, 2015, 06:20:25 PM
...

https://www.coinwallet.co/en/home/ ... web wallets like this will likely be the kind used by the general public, ...

I hope not. coinwallet.co should not be used to store money as they hold the private keys to the web wallets and can walk away any time. That's no different than an exchange. We need to remember that if you aren't the sole owner of the private keys, they aren't your coins...

I have already designed a system and written proof of concept tests to add user level private key security to coinwallet.co. So users will own their keys. Slightly different approach. But basically the same result as blockchain.info type system.

Busy with non-crypto stuff at the moment, but when I get some time...

Until then coinwallet.co is not going anywhere.

Having said that I do not suggest storing anything more than a small amount on coinwallet.co, nothing better than your own encrypted wallet on your own device.

And whats with the recent UNO price drop, is everyone waiting for the next BTC rally?  Cheesy

great to see this coin is still alive

My thoughts precisely.

With so many devs bailing on coins these days it is good to see SYS is still going strong!!

Keep up the good work guys! Altcoins and crypto in general need teams like you  Wink

@danonthehill

I am beginning to think you might be right.

I was getting sick and tired of scams in alt coins and this is just about the last straw.

Well looks like Joe Mozelesky turned out to be a dishonest and reprehensible human being.  Seems to have lied through his teeth at every stage of this project...a scam artist in the first degree.  I wish upon this person every imaginable misfortune.

If that were true I would fully agree with you and share your sentiments.

However I do not think Joe has abandoned XAI (or XQN for that matter).

Joe has informed me recently he is going through somewhat of a personal crisis at the moment, but has assured me that nothing has been abandoned.

I for one am going to give him the benefit of the doubt.

You can call me an idiot in 6 months time if Joe is not back on board with updates before then  Grin.

does XAI have a slack, if so, I'd like to join

https://xai.slack.com

But I think you will need an invite from Joe. PM me your email address and I will pass it on to Joe via Skype, or you could try sending him a PM here.

another coin that does exactly what every other coin does.

Why do people keep eating this shit up?

Good question.

I don't understand how this is hard to understand in 2015. I guess nobody has used a coin's testnet. It's simply "fake" coins to play with for testing purposes. If you just want to play around with UNO but not spare your real coins, then you can test mine the testnet, send coins for testing without worry of losing your Unobtanium. If you don't want to play with test coins from the testnet blockchain, then do nothing with it.

I forgot to welcome you yesterday RDDRocket in the midst of all the hubbub. Hope you stick around and don't worry about the gekko, every community has one.

No surprise here, it was poor executed, cheaply invested, and abandoned a long time ago, just like any other scam around here..

Got to agree with you. This was a scam.

This is becoming all to familiar around here.  Angry
196  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Best WEB wallets on: July 08, 2015, 05:48:07 PM
anyone ever used this service?
https://www.coinwallet.co/en/currencies

is it in good standing?

@BitcoinNational I run this service. As far as I am aware we are in good standing Wink.

We have been running since Nov. 2013.

We are seeing thousands of incoming (mostly small) transactions every day. As such incoming deposits are a bit slow at the moment. We plan to fix this issue soon.

Withdrawals are almost instant.

Recently we added POS pool functionality which is working well.

Let me know if you have any specific questions.

198  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Scams were good for crypto on: July 08, 2015, 04:26:58 PM
The noobs who got scammed left crypto for good. Scams turn away newbies and that's bad.

Agreed.

Several people I introduced to alt cryptos got burned and will likely never be back.

have massive problem.
two days ago i deposited money using megacoin wallet to cryptsy.
just noticed now Status: 0/unconfirmed
two days ago!!
what can I do???
have wallet on two pcs. same wallet.
on main pc i have that unconfirmed trans. on other its not there at all (send transactions)
but i added up deposits and compared to withdraws and amount not confirmed is difference between both.
so at the moment im missing 145 coins.
no trace of it in blockchain explorer.
is there anyway to fix it?

Same wallet on two different computers is not a good idea. Wallet conflicts can occur easily.

Think about this simplified scenario:

You have 4 different public addresses, each of which received 1000 MEC

You then send a transaction from one wallet / computer of 2000 MEC. Only the wallet you send from knows which inputs you used (not technically true, but for the way bitcoin related wallets currently work it is true).

You then go to the other wallet / computer and send 2000 MEC but this wallet uses one or both of the same inputs as the outgoing transaction from the other wallet. It will give you a transaction id as that is created client side.

However this second transaction will never be accepted or confirmed on the block chain as the inputs have already been used / spent (double spend).

It can be complicated to recover from this scenario as your wallet/s think the coins have been spent. Sometimes you will need to dump the private keys and re-import into a new wallet which will then do a totally new scan on the block chain to restore your wallet to its 'real' balance.

Hey guys, development and work on the XAI project still continues on.  There is a lot of work to do and limited resources, but it has not stopped.  My time horizon on this is long term, but it won't be abandoned.

A couple of things I've got cooking:

- Implementing the new wallet design from our designer
- Solution for the scripting shell that cross-compiles on all platforms
- I was contacted by a guy from SuperNET and responded
- I am working with an advisor who has also advised some other notable projects on bolstering our presence in the Asian market

I have also been looking at a cool board I found:

https://www.parallella.org/

These boards are affordable and similar to a raspi, but have a multicore risc processor on board.  Down the road this could be a pretty cool hardware device for XAI so people can get an off the shelf computing "neurominer".  I'm hoping to get my hands on one of these boards soon.

Thanks for the update Joe.
