181  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Braiins OS: open-source mining firmware [S9, T1] on: September 28, 2018, 11:44:25 PM
Saw mention of this working only on S9i, not S9.  Think I’ll wait until this is available as a standard firmware u/g - not hassle w/SD boot.  Tongue

Well they're advertising it as working on the T1, but the T1 has no SD card slot! So I guess I am in the same boat.

Maybe the Braiins team will address this thread at some point Tongue
182  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Braiins OS: open-source mining firmware [S9, T1] on: September 27, 2018, 04:25:50 PM
Braiinz is the company that runs slushpool.....Braiinz OS is just a product they have put out. Is it really that confusing? Many many companies have a corporate website that is different from the website they offer products through.

I don't doubt that they are the same company, but I think grinbucks point is how can we be sure its actually the same company.

We can be sure it is the same company through a number of methods:

1.) There is a press release announcing the release of Braiins OS on the SlushPool website.

2.) The OS release is signed by a GPG key found on the SlushPool website.

Given these factors I would say that yes, it is the same company behind both SlushPool and Braiins-OS.

Follows how Innosilicon has "sold out" of the T2T+32. Think they're pulling these products until they see how the tariffs shake out?

https://wiki.openwrt.org/doc/recipes/relayclient

This is what I used to allow my R1-LTC to share wifi through its LAN port to connect one of my R4's to the internet. Still mines and is fully functional otherwise. Just make sure you customize the settings to your network.

Good luck!

I will do it now just for you.

At the moment I don't have a linux pc setup.

So it will be a little longer  to do.

I will get back later

Good luck... No one has been able to complete the install yet
186  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Braiins OS: open-source mining firmware [S9, T1] on: September 24, 2018, 08:16:46 PM
So I went ahead and attempted this OS install.

1st problem: quick guide is not very descriptive! For instance, the requirement to get the control board on the T1 to recognize your SD card requires you to adjust the jumpers on the control board. No guide is given on this besides J1 0 1. I removed the control board from my T1 to get a good look at the jumpers (had to try and find them as no guidance was given on where they were on the board). Upon finding them I had no idea what to do from there or even how to adjust it to make its status 0 1. This is could simply be from my lack of hardware experience.

2nd problem: There is no SD card reader on the T1 control board. From what I can gather from the quick guide, this OS install is predicated upon using the SD card slot. So this is a hard stop and I'm not sure how to proceed.

Can the Braiins team please provide more detailed instructions, like a video perhaps, on the complete, step-by-step process to get the Braiins OS installed on our machines?
187  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Braiins OS: open-source mining firmware [S9, T1] on: September 24, 2018, 03:56:54 PM
So having read through the guide on how to get this os running on the T1, it would seem that some assumptions are made about the experience of the user. If possible, some pictures/more details about jumpers on the board and perhaps some more details on the necessary Linux commands might increase uptake among users.
188  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: For sale ASIC miners SHA256/Scrypt/Miners on: September 22, 2018, 01:07:22 AM
so..  can you post some images of the miners with your forum name written on a paper next to them? just as a safety measure of course?
Sure.. I will post images of the miners with my forum name written on a paper.

That "signature" is hilarious, omg.
189  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Wu Announces BM 7NM pending Miner release. 42 J/TH on: September 21, 2018, 03:33:39 PM
Based on the reliability of the S9, Bitmains failures with their test wafers, and IPO problems I would wait at least 6 months after these are in the hands of people before touching them.

Just feels like this machine is going to have some problems.

Edit: not to mention KYC requirements. No way in hell am I sending my sensitive ID documentation to hack-prone Bitmain.
190  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: 17.2TH/s, 1570W Innosilicon announces the most powerful and efficient BTC Miner on: September 21, 2018, 02:49:09 PM
Both the T2 and T2T had ASIC Boost, the T2T+32 uses the same chips so makes sense that it also has ASIC Boost

Wow, no idea how I missed that this whole time!
191  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: 17.2TH/s, 1570W Innosilicon announces the most powerful and efficient BTC Miner on: September 21, 2018, 01:46:29 PM
The T2T+32 is now listed on the Innosilicon website, but whats interesting is that it mentions ASIC Boost is present on the miner!

Have they mentioned anywhere that this machine uses ASIC Boost?
192  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Innosilicon T2Turbo review 24th model on: September 19, 2018, 02:11:44 PM
Sometimes yes.
Sometimes they are also a bit weird on fan speeds.
I did research on the 25+2.6 = 27.6 % import taxes

I got it early enough  to beat the 25% tax

but I may get billed for the 2.6%

it looks like the 32th model will be unaffordable for me.

I've noticed that as well with the fan speeds, at least in the logs. Sometimes it attempts to set a fan speed, say 74%, and the fan speed ends up ping ponging back and forth between 70% and 75%. I have my T2T in the server room of my company so I don't notice if the fan speed is truly ramping up and down.
193  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Innosilicon T2Turbo review 24th model on: September 19, 2018, 04:34:16 AM
Oem firmware or the upgrade?

Those are a little better then I did for factory.

The August 14th firmware. It took quite a few tuning attempts to arrive here. The usual problem was that there were far too many HW errors or power consumption was too high.

Btw, in your logs when you reboot or try a new tune, do your logs show an error for loading the tune, something like error: configuration file partially loaded?
194  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Innosilicon T2Turbo review 24th model on: September 19, 2018, 03:45:26 AM
My average over the last few days at Slush:

~22.8 TH/s
~2040-2060W
~89.5 W/TH

This is in a 80-88ºF room on the Factory tune.
195  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Pangolin Whatsminer M10 - 33TH at 2145W on: September 14, 2018, 02:26:21 PM
Japan won’t have the tariff.

So gmo may make out.

Very true, and hopefully Triple-1 turns out to be legit so we have another option among Japanese manufacturers.
196  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Pangolin Whatsminer M10 - 33TH at 2145W on: September 14, 2018, 01:51:19 PM
The other problem are these tariffs. A 25% increase in price generally makes these unprofitable at pretty much any residential rate in the US, at least BTC return wise. Feeling very lucky to have found a T2T in my local market for $1300.
197  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: DragonMint T1 16TH/S halongmining.com on: September 07, 2018, 08:41:01 PM
.......

Oh, and yes, that's the T1 firmware you're after. I still might talk to -ck about what is best to use.

I've tried it for the past few days but I'm returning to the last firmware from -ck. The Inno firmware runs the fans higher, produces more errors IME, and has restarted on me randomly.
198  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: DragonMint T1 16TH/S halongmining.com on: September 07, 2018, 04:19:11 PM
Pretty much as I've expected from Halong from the very start and stated here from day-1 of the thread. The one single Kudo I'll give them is that they actually delivered a product that closely met their initial specs -- aside from requiring pool support of AB which they failed to mention to Investomers who pre-ordered and only told the public about a month or so before miners were delivered.

I still tend to think that Halong was a testgoat/shell corporation backed by Inno just to see if a miner using AB would be a salable item and supported by enough pools to be viable: If pools refused to support it only Little Dragon LLC and Halong would get the black eyes.

Given Inno has released firmware for the T1 that rebrands it with the innosilicon logo I would say you're spot on!
199  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Avalon 841 Rouge on: September 07, 2018, 02:10:11 PM
Looking at your screenshot, it would appear that your GHSav is what one would expect it to be, namely, ~13.7TH/s each. The GHSasc numbers are something of a mystery to me in terms of the actual numbers they represent. I find it better to go with the AV/5m/15m/etc.
200  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: DragonMint T1 16TH/S halongmining.com on: September 07, 2018, 01:55:12 PM
It looks like Innosilicon has taken over supporting the Halong T1 on the firmware side, Inno's support website lists a firmware update dated August 13th for the T1. I have it running on one of my T1's and it works. It adds Inno's logo and more granular tuning options from what I can see. Also splits up the miner log page, just like on the T2T, between system and miner.

Edit: Fans are also running much higher at the same tuning setting. As in 90% vs 60%.
