Just ordered my first M10-31T from Pangolin with the $51 coupon. Will get to see how it compares to the T15's I have in terms of noise and stability. Given the glowing reviews from other members I am expecting good things! Will likely remove 3 821's from the rack to make room power-wise.

According to the BitDeer website, they have an L5 on offer. So assuming that isn’t made up marketing by BM, they have an unreleased scrypt miner.

My miner mined for about 10 minutes when I first plugged it in and now I just get spinning circles in the Miner Status page. THe Miner log looks like is trying to log in. Im not sure what is wrong. I thought the slushpool password might be wrong but I guess that's just arbitrary. Does anyone know what is wrong?
Have you tried another pool? Are you mining behind a proxy/vpn? Which addresses have you tried for slushpool? Do you have different addresses filled in for the Pool 0, 1, 2? For slush I use these addresses in case a node goes down: stratum+tcp://us-east.stratum.slushpool.com:3333 stratum+tcp://ca.stratum.slushpool.com:3333 stratum+tcp://eu.stratum.slushpool.com:3333

Personally, my set up is too small and is located within the server room of my existing business which is in an office building. So unfortunately, I do not have the option to deploy my own solar. In addition, the relatively small size and colocated nature of my mine does not give me any option other than the local power company.
If I had the choice you presented, I would have to calculate which would be most advantageous tax-wise. Electricity costs are deductible so depending on how much gear I plan on purchasing this year I would look at projected electricity costs to make sure I minimize my tax burden. If its even remotely close in terms of final costs, I would choose the hydro/green power.

With this new cgminer option added, I can now how full use (no temp sensors) of my R4 with Braiins! Everything else works, and I'm now running at 630 freq, 9.1v, and 9TH.

This time there are not many more details, but here it goes in case something was missed:
It is important to highlight that disabling the fans (setting to 0) means people with liquid cooling no longer need fans or hardware emulators. Also the Dragonmint T1 with G29 control board (256m of ram) should work...
Be very careful with those speeds and voltages, just because you can doesn't mean you should. There is no hand holding here and you can easily burn your asics when overclocking or disabling the fans. You can also damage your PSU by overloading it when overclocking.

For bigger mining operators they would surely get some attention if huge cash will be credited into their bank accounts after exchanging their mined crypto into fiat cash. Even on a country which doesn't regulate crypto would really have questions on where those cash came from.If you declare such mining activity then expect for it to be taxed without exemption since they do know you are generating some serious profits here but for home miners then it is just okay for you not to declare since these are only small time profits.
If you're in the US it would not be very smart to not report your mining income. Lets say BTC goes on another bull run and you decide to cash out a tidy sum of USD, your exchange will likely report that transaction eventually. How will you explain to the IRS why you didn't report that sale of BTC? If you do report the sale, how will you explain the source of the BTC? I find it far simpler and much less stressful to simply report my gains and income, pay my fair share of taxes, and be in a safe, legal position to profit as BTC increases in value in the coming years. If you consider your mining a "business" you get to take advantage of all sorts of deductions and credits to reduce your taxable income, whether that be your mining income or your normal/salary income. I got to deduct the cost of the miners I purchased last year and the short/long term losses incurred by buying those miners with BTC! Filing actually increased my tax refund!

As a note for those filing taxes in the US on mining income.
For one, you should treat this income as business income. By doing so, you can deduct the cost of your equipment using:
Section 1.263(a)-1(f) Safe Harbor De Minimis Election
This allows you to deduct the cost of your mining equipment as a one-off deduction, taking the full value of the deduction instead of worrying about depreciation tables and such. This was actually suggested to me by TurboTax since none of the miners I bought this past year cost more than $2400 each.

I believe the S11 is running BM's most advanced 16nm chip. Wasn't mentioned in the initial announcement of their first 7nm miners and the efficiency numbers don't line up to be running their 7nm chip.

I'm definitely holding off. I was on the verge of swapping out all of my T1's / 821's for T15's / S15's but when(if?) the release of these 2nd-gen comes about the prices for these will drop considerably. Don't want to pay 1k for something I could pay 400 for in a few months.

I lost access to my machines via ip. When I try to get with root/root login and pass, I cant get into the web UI. Also, the green light as they're mining is turned on. I don't see any hash rate on any of my workers on the pool? I had to get into it pressing the reset button and setting up every machine again....
Just to see your opinion, what could happen there? somebody hacked my machines?

That does seem to be the likely scenario, were they producing the normal heat you would expect? Assuming you are running L3+'s, BM released a FW a couple of months ago to address "vulnerabilities" across all kinds of L3's. Are you running this updated FW? If not, its possible whatever vulnerability that got patched was exploited to change the credentials of your machines.
