181  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [$XVG] VERGE [POW][MultiAlgo][BLACKHOLE][Entire Line of TOR/i2P Resources] on: January 25, 2018, 12:44:56 AM
Is there actually a wallet that works? Page after page there is issues with wallets, I think I will leave my xvg on the exchange still.
What hope is there for the verge if the wallet cannot be sorted out?

I actually just moved to the 4.0.1 wallet (see OP for link if you don't have it) today - didn't have any issues (on Windows or Deb) since the full release on the 8th and now with the fork update.

I actually made a backup for the %%APPDATA%%/VERGE folder just in case, but it wasn't necessary. Of course while we all wait on the fork to happen etc, I'm not moving anything around so actual functionality I haven't tested other than it showing all my transactions/balances etc.

I have the 4.0.1 qt and the older electrum and I did a test today to see if I could transfer some coins from the electrum to the qt and it worked flawlessly.  The electrum didn't have a hard time with the tx like it was having before the fork and it worked great.

On a side note I was mining on pools.hashrefinery during the fork and it started to basically mine every block after the fork for an hour or so and then they took xvg off all their algos and you still can't mine it there.  Did they mine the wrong chain?

Anyone have a second to check my stats:

http://www.zpool.ca/?address=1B7yZU9xDuxCu2n1XmjTtc6DwT7zXhneDt

Mined all night with zpool on my Titan V and made a measly $3. THe actual profits seem to be WAY lower than the benchmarks suggest. This normal?

It has to do with how zpool calculates their realtime profit and the fact that you can never get a good connection to the 24hr api.  I find that it pops me out of the most profitable coins at all the wrong times to where I'll end up with small shares of the good coins and big shares of crap that has little value.  Running Ahashpool24hr worked well for me as well as hash refinery.  Hashrefinery is hit or miss though.  There's such a small group of miners that you get huge shares but it's a bit more of a gamble.  I had a couple of days that were way better than ahashpool and some that were way worse.  When crack got pissed at the xvg wallet and dropped it from zpool I made a killing on hashrefinery with some shares over 25xvg per block with just 4x1070.
183  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: NEMOSMINER multi algo profit switching NVIDIA miner on: January 24, 2018, 06:32:07 AM
Anyone else mining on hashrefinery when they pooped the bed and didn't follow the hardfork on x17?

I was trying to pick up some xvg while it was low and switched over there for the past couple of days and when I checked my balance I saw that I'd picked up around 100 in less than an hour with 4-1070's.  I just read the verge had a hard fork today and I'm guessing that as soon as the pool owner realizes what's going on it's all going to go away Sad

I am pretty excited with the hard fork news at block 1,824,150. Hopefully everything will go according to plan.

Can someone please explain what exactly will happen here?

Do we get a new coin?

Will more coins be issued?

No and No. They are just updating the protocol. The blockchain will continue on a new chain. No new coins are being issued. The old chain will stop functioning at the time of the fork. All coins remain the same. Nothing lost, nothing gained.

Just so I'm clear here.  Will the coins I have on the old electrum wallet still be transferable and the wallet will be good, or do I need to move them all to the new wraith one?

Hye,

I've a little problem when I launch the miner, the miner is open for 4/5sec like this: https://www.noelshack.com/2018-04-1-1516647201-mineur.png

It just close after and nothing happened after, what can i do to make it run?

Do you have your number of GPU configured properly?

Yes, I have only one GPU for the moment, my bat:

powershell -version 5.0 -noexit -executionpolicy bypass -windowstyle maximized -command "&.\NemosMiner-v2.4.1.ps1 -SelGPUDSTM '0' -SelGPUCC '0' -Currency USD -Passwordcurrency BTC -interval 30 -Username blacklpk -Workername lpk2 -Location US -ActiveMinerGainPct 3 -PoolName miningpoolhub -Type nvidia -Algorithm cryptonight,keccak,lyra2z,skein,equihash,groestl,MyriadGroestl,Lyra2RE2,neoscrypt -Donate 5

Which GPU are you using?

This probably isn't the right place for this but I'm having a hell of a time moving my 4x1070's into one rig.

I set everything up on a fresh install of windows 10 and I can get it to detect 3 cards but when I add the 4th nothing boots I just get a black screen and can't even get to the bios.

It's not the risers because I can make any combination of the three cards work and it's not the PSU's because I, again, can make any combination of the three work.  It's not the PCI slots because I can make any combination of the three work as well out of the 6 slots.  As soon as the 4th card is added with power to it it just won't start.

I've read that maybe my 4gb of ram isn't enough, but I've also read that you really don't need more than 4gb of ram.  I'm really stuck here and hoping that one of you might have had this same issue and know a way to correct it.

Have you changed BIOS settings for mining? e.g. 'BIOS Above 4G Decoding' is enabled, PCIE speed set to 'Gen 1'

You are an awesome person.  Thanks for this.

zpool shut down their x17 server.  You'll have to remove it from the start.bat
thankyou @HardBlockMiner
NP
Why did you drop palgin for neoscrypt?  I was getting almost 10% better hash rates with it?

removed Palgin as not ready to be added yet

did manage to get it to work but not up to my standards
it worked well for me but alot of user were reporting issues, i will continue trying and add it to next release if possible
anyhelp with it will be much appreciated more info here  : https://github.com/nemosminer/NemosMiner-v2.4/issues/130

Best Regards
Nemo
I'm consolidating and finally got all the stuff to put all my cards in one case so I'll play with it a bit this weekend.

https://github.com/nemosminer/NemosMiner-v2.4/releases/download/v2.4/NemosMiner-v2.4.zip

Added:

XMRig (cryptonight)

mBTC/perday along side BTC/perday

-workername (nicehash)

Lyra2z --submit-stale (miningpoolhub)

updated: ccminers (Tpruvot & KlausT)

Increased Benchmark time 8min per Algo (takes awhile but very Accurate)

Added: -ActiveMinerGainPct (percent of advantage that active miner has over candidates in term of profit (default 3%) this will help reduce unnecessary switching

bug fix: for 8 card Rigs (not closing miner)

Tested with 6x10603gb & 6x1080ti

Thanks for keeping this going.  It really makes everything so much easier.

I Am new to mining and using Nvidia cards GTX 1070 total 4cards i want to ask
whether Nvidia cards software version affects the hashrate? because mine is updated version 390 while in zpool website i didnt see anyone using this version
also please help how to calculate daily profit for the currency i am mining example CRC coin which shows (0.45790) what does this means?
thanks

Driver version can have an effect on hash rate. Though from personal experience, it's usually negligible. I'd guess the reason you see older versions in the benchmark data is mainly that it doesn't pose any benefit to do frequent driver upgrades. It'd just be wasted time. Especially for a rig which has many GPUs and a weak CPU. Upgrading can take a long time in certain cases. And then there's the risk that the newer driver will be buggy or introduce new problems.

"If it ain't broken, don't fix it."

As for neoscrypt profitability, multiply 0.45790 by your hashrate in MH/s, and the result is the value you would receive after a day of mining if that profitability estimate holds true, measured in milliBTC or mBTC. If you're being paid in something other than BTC, you'll get the equivalent amount of that coin when it's added to your balance.

thanks for the feedback

for neoscrypt mining using Nvidia 1070 (4 card) i am getting 3080.4 kH/s. Is it good enough? also which miner will you recommend for these nvidia cards.
I'm using 4x1070 and getting ~4.3MH/s on Palgin miner at 85%power +150cc +300mc

Warning : GPU mining works, but scrypt algo is much more efficient with ASICS.[/color]

This is honestly one of my biggest gripes with this coin.  It should be multi algo to let the community mine the coins instead of people with ASICS.  The price will never be stable if every block mined just gets dumped on the exchanges for btc.

something is about to happen to verge soon that would make you wish you had bought well earlier. Just watch this space for it.
If they add a pos component to it I'm going to be pissed that I didn't hoard it.

This is a random question but how does the rise and fall of BTC price affect what we get paid for the ALT coins we mine on zpool. Do we get paid less or more for mining when the BTC value drops?

You are paid the same amount in BTC but it is worth less $ because of the BTC price.

I think he means something like this...

Day 1 - you mine 1000 ABCs, converts to ~0.5mBTC, and at that time BTC is worth $10k
Day 2 - you mine 1000 ABCs, converts to ~1.0mBTC, and this time BTC is worth $5k (assuming the mined coin stayed the same value compared to BTC)
Day 3 - you mine 1000 ABCs, mine's ~0.5mBTC, and BTC dropped and is worth $10k again.....

The question is, after the third day will he get credited for 2.0mBTC (assuming it'll let you cash out at 2.0mBTC), or will all the credits adjust to the cash out time - which means, it looks at the value of 3000 ABCs during cash out which really equals 1.5mBTC.

Is it 2.0 or 1.5 mBTC?

Yes something along that line I just would like to understand how the exchange rate for ALT coins affects the amount of BTC earned works. I understand that the value of the BTC in my zpool changes just wanting to know if the amount of BTC earned each day can change according the exchange rate...

Right. We're asking the same thing. At the end of the day(s) will it be 2.0 or 1.5? When I get "credited" the amount in BTC in my account, if the value drops or skyrockets, does the amount credited previously get adjusted - or is it snapshotted/guaranteed at the original time it was credited?
When the price of the alts drops drastically it's a great time to get paid out in them.  It sucks that the xvg wallet went down because I switched from btc to xvg payout because the odds of xvg hitting .12 from .06 in the near future are pretty good but the odds of btc going from 10,000 to 20,000 aren't so hot.  I try to play with the payouts to get paid in some of the coins when they're in a dip then swap them at cryptopia for btc when they go up.
197  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: NEMOSMINER multi algo profit switching NVIDIA miner on: January 16, 2018, 05:01:18 PM

Well 48 hours in I've given up on Zpool...
MINER1 - AHashPool - 0.00501009 BTC Earned
MINER2 - Zpool - .00403559 BTC Earned

At $12000/BTC, MINER2 made $11.69 less in 2 days or almost $6/day LESS!!!

AHASHPOOL WINS!!

I did these tests some time ago. Happy to see that the results are still thesame.
$6 a day * 31 = $186

I think that's reason enough to switch pools.

Gonna do Ahash vs HR now? Cheesy

I'm working on a side by side with 2x1070 on each pool right now.  I tried to start it on Thursday and was hoping to have results today but something went to crap over the weekend so I had to restart it yesterday.  So far 10 hours in ahashpool is only 2% higher than hash refinery.

I used to mine for the direct coins I wanted and recently switched to BTC payout.  I've noticed better payout and it allows you to play on the exchanges with the purchasing as opposed to what it appears the pool does, just dumps it at the current rate.

My concern is the network fee for BTC transfers eats up quite a bit of mining proceeds.

Crack lumps the transactions together and gets a smaller fee.  The big one you'd pay would be going from your wallet to the exchange.
199  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: █▓▒░-< [ZPOOL.CA][FlexFee™][SegWit] The miners multipool >-░▒▓█ on: January 11, 2018, 07:28:40 PM
So I guess I can't mine just one coin here correct?  I have to mine a specific algo?

I'm only really interested in ZClassic.

correct. choose your payout and choose your algo. Everything you mine is converted to your payout.

If I'm mining keccak algo for MAX coin... what's the order of operations? Pool mine's MAX, get's converted to BTC, BTC converts to MAX at exchange, MAX gets sent to wallet? Or is it simply Pool mine's MAX, MAX gets sent to miner's wallet?

I guess the question is, if I'm not mining BTC, does whatever I mine get outputted as BTC then get converted to the coin which then gets sent to our wallet? If that's the case, would it make more sense to always get payouts in BTC? If not, then disregard! Thanks again.

yes, in exchange mode, you're credited BTC value, that that value is used to calculate how much MAX that would buy, then you get paid. It's always recommended to use BTC as payout.

In exchange mode...?

Just to beat the dead horse - no matter what I choose to mine, I effectively generate BTC "credits" which are then used to exchange for the coin I would buy. So in the example of MAX coin, say I mine 200 MAX a day which calculates to ~$0.035/MAX at the moment --> $7/day. That "$7" in BTC credit is used to exchange for the 200 MAX coin minus the fee it took to process a $7 BTC credit, so I'd end up with ...say 160MAX?

But instead, if I choose BTC as payout, I would get $7/day BTC credits which won't get exchanged/deposited to my wallet until I get $36 (0.0025BTC) which reduces the effect of the fee for the transfer/exchange.

$36 = 1028 MAX - 40MAX (arbitrary fee calc) = 988 = 96% of credits.......vs the 160/200 = 80% of credits from the earlier example.

Am I thinking of this correctly?

I used to mine for the direct coins I wanted and recently switched to BTC payout.  I've noticed better payout and it allows you to play on the exchanges with the purchasing as opposed to what it appears the pool does, just dumps it at the current rate.  I've picked up a ton of Linda prior to today on the dips and made out way better than I was taking the conversion and getting paid here on my Linda wallet.  I just hope cryptopia opens LTC trading again, I'd get paid in LTC here and trade there with it.
200  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: NEMOSMINER multi algo profit switching NVIDIA miner on: January 11, 2018, 07:09:45 PM
PSA: Updated driver to 390.65 and seeing a ~7% increase in hashrate versus 388.13. All else being said.

-edit - Running it on 2 identical rigs, side by side, same algo & miner and I can see that the usage & power are alot "smoother" as well.

Awesome.  Thank you!
