Bosian, could you please tell us why there has been no PoS since last year? Something wrong? Also, any idea why http://coinblockchain.com/grain/ has stopped at about the same time PoS stopped coming? I PM'ed the dev of the block explorer, looks like the database is stuck, he may need to refresh DB. Hope he'll fix it soon. Meanwhile the other block crawler seems working fine. |

Really? That's kind of the big draw for me to mine this coin. That's disappointing if true. I'm sure bosian will check it out and fix it and everything will be ok again. I hope so. It's the small PoS that really drives me to this coin. I want to be rewarded for holding onto a currency rather than be rewarded for dumping it the first chance I get. That's what sets this apart from a lot of other coins. I thin, bosian will fix soon, and, this time good for the miner due to the stable I am investigating the issue... so far I don't see anything abnormal. Will dive into the details and report back. Remember, for a given account the pos is usually generated during a certain period of time, as it requires you hold the coins at least 15-30 days before the "coin-day" will be counted. And after you receive the PoS blocks, the "coin-day" will be reset. I see all the mining working fine.  |

I really like this coin. There's something very down to earth about it. Maybe it's the name or that it's just quietly pacing along, but I like the small PoS stake that should provide much needed stability when it hits an exchange. Feel like I'm a bit late to the game, though. I don't have a great mining rig, so anyone who also deals in other altcoins, I have a trading thread here if you are willing to trade a few grains. I pool mined for about 12 hours. Now I'm going to solo mine for the same amount of time and see where that gets me. Good thing about this coin is that the difficulty is still very low. It has only about tripled since i started mining it (2nd day from launch). So you are not late yet. Will be late when it hits an exchange. Difficulty will probably jump over 10x very fast. Ofc we don't know when/if it hits an exchange, but I don't see any reason why it wouldn't at some point. Developer is actively cummunicating with the supporters/miners and takes care of issues if there are any. Also both current pool owner's actively post here. I like the slow organic growth model. Careful, deliberate and cooperative development are the only novel ideas I've heard in crypto for a while. I think this could be a good coin to bring together the elements of crypto currency that don't care for meme coins and pump and dumps. We "others" could rally behind this and go somewhere. Do things right, like concentrate on charitable works that could use GRA. If we could make a GRA food bank how amazing would that be? This is a great idea, we'll think about and work on it |

I think, working well. the current diff is moving betwen 0.6~0.9 (just sometime under 0.6 and over 1.0). so, you will get message "Network diff set to 0" Block time of this coin is 30 seconds, so, you will get "New block detected on network" message around every 30 seconds This coin is adjusting the diff every block and changing diff by every block so, you will get both messages every time. Where did you put Graincoin.conf file ?
This file should be created at %APPDATA%\Graincoin
And check the file name
Some user making the file as "graincoin.conf.txt", it is wrong.
You must check the file name "graincoin.conf"
Shouldn't the file be grain.conf not graincoin.conf ? Yes, "grain.conf" is right Sorry for making you are confused grain.conf for solo mining. if you mine with a pool, you don't even need this file. |

Got few questions.
What would happen if 10k+ wallets are open all generating PoS? Would it increase PoS difficulty so it wouldn't flood the network and would PoW even be able to generate at close to normal rates? If for example 100+ PoS tx would be generated between the PoW, how would it affect PoW block generation?
It is pretty much like mining, there's a diff for PoS (although very low), it regulates the blocks generated no faster than 30 sec per block. Of course one block can contain several generations of the pos. If a lot PoS blocks generated, then PoW block target block time will be bigger. Otherwise it will return to its target block time (30sec). |
