181  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptsy bitcoin deposits have not posted to my account. Can this be fixed? on: December 14, 2013, 07:03:59 PM
I've had very slow deposits but never one that didn't turn up at all.

I seem to remember my last BTC->Cryptsy took 12-14 hours.  For other alts I had just over a 4 hours wait earlier today.

I normally just raise a ticket and stick the TXid in there. For deposits though they've normally fixed themselves before the support ticket gets updated by anyone.

Yep, still needs patience unfortunately. I've got a deposit that has over 180 confirmations and 4 hours on the clock and not even showing as pending yet in my account.

<<to keep this fair and accurate, they've just arrived in my account - 5 mins after this posting>>
185  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SBC] From Death Comes Life – The Rebirth of StableCoin - URGENT UPDATE on: December 12, 2013, 10:26:54 PM
Good update from Artos just now on the local forum in response to a discussion thread I was trying to get some community input/views on. Worth a quick look if you've not been checking across there recently.

http://forums.stablecoin.net/index.php?topic=54.msg244#msg244

Also if anyone has skills/specialisms in the social media area that I initiated the post around then be great to hear your views over there.
186  Local / Alt Coins (India) / Re: Any interest in participating in the SBC community? on: December 12, 2013, 10:20:09 PM
Hot off the press, an update from the StableCoin developer over on the forum (shown in my sig) that may be of interest to those of you looking to participate in the SBC community or just keeping up to date with relevant news. Could be good news to any of you looking to use for local businesses or even just from a currency trading angle.

Any help for the community appreciated.

There's a press release coming down the wire sometime next week, and I'm currently in talks in with a guy who is starting up an exchange in India. He's interested in adding SBC. The Indian market is huge, and could easily have the same effect on cryptocurrency that China did. http://blogs.wsj.com/indiarealtime/2013/12/12/bitcoin-fever-catches-on-in-india

There's some other stuff going on behind the scenes as well, but it'd be great if the community got involved with promotion as well. There's only so much I can manage on my own.

Waiting eagerly  Cool

...and be great to see SBC on here too, but understand focus on launch is a big thing to concentrate on!  Good luck.

I've done a withdrawal, failed with security error. Did another, now have two confirmation emails, one of which I'd confirmed. Somehow have the coins still in Cryptsy (at the moment) and no record of attempted withdrawal in my account. Possibly lag I guess.

Time to logout and leave it and see tomorrow if I have coins in one place, the other, both or some parallel universe. Learnt last time to walk away when it's behaving like this.  Plenty to be getting on with.

Was getting bad gateway also, now seeing brief glimpses of the site now and then.

Angry Fantastic, just when I'd given them the benefit of the doubt and transferred some coins back in. Deposit made it in, now if only I could access the exchange to trade them.

<Note to self - you just knew that'd happen>

That said, I'm sure they have plenty on their hands to keep up with demand. Hope they make it through the teething pains, I still think the exchange has promise if it can make it through this rough patch.

Successfully traded some SBC with ZEU yesterday with Rubberduckie
+1 on rep from here. Smiley
192  Local / Alt Coins (India) / Any interest in participating in the SBC community? on: December 11, 2013, 09:07:26 PM
Hi all

There have been some discussion threads in the new StableCoin forum (http://forums.stablecoin.net) about how to further develop this coin, its uses, its geographic appeal and its potential markets.

The Indian market has be one of those discussed so I thought I'd mention it here in case any of you are interested in reading more or looking for the opportunity to contribute to shaping how this coin and community develops. You may also have some great ideas as to how it could be used in your region.

I'm sure at minimum the community would be grateful to hear any feedback you have on how alt coins are viewed in India and what role they might have in the future.

I know Artos (bitcointalk username of the StableCoin dev) has also been getting translations of the StableCoin web site generated via this main SBC thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=349198.0)

Again, this may be something one of you would like to get involved with.  Just thought I'd drop by and mention it.

Thanks for reading  Smiley

194  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] Coin Ticker - new cryptocurrency and bitcoin stock ticker [Free iOS App] on: December 11, 2013, 06:13:59 AM
Hey nolanhuang, great app, I've been using the full version already.

Would really appreciate if you could put StableCoin (SBC) into the next release. It's already on Cryptsy and is picking up a strong following on bitcointalk and also on it's newly created forum. I'll make sure I cross post your app on that forum right now.
195  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SBC] From Death Comes Life – The Rebirth of StableCoin - URGENT UPDATE on: December 10, 2013, 08:39:59 PM
Just wanted to drop a line and let you guys know that, in addition to Kane's block explorer, we now have one at http://sbc.blockexplorer.io, as well.

I will take the time to style it tonight but it's up-and-running. Took a while but wanted to bulletproof the box and ensure that it's quick.

Great. Might want to post that info across on the new StableCoin forum as well if not there already.

Thanks. Will update the links later tonight.

Forum is finally functional, come say hi! http://forums.stablecoin.net

^^Now on-board, looking forward to seeing what we can do as a community
197  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SBC] From Death Comes Life – The Rebirth of StableCoin - URGENT UPDATE on: December 09, 2013, 08:54:35 PM
How to update client? Should I back up the wallet first? After backing up a wallet, how do I load it up again?
Thanks
No need to backup the wallet. Just delete your old stablecoin-qt.exe and use the new one.

Can someone verify this works fine even for encrypted wallet?

Thanks,

I am just going through this cautiously because I've never done it before and wouldn't like to lose any coins in the process

I did this by building wallet from source on Ubuntu and worked fine. Just using the new 1.4 client and left everything else the same.
198  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SBC] From Death Comes Life – The Rebirth of StableCoin - URGENT UPDATE on: December 09, 2013, 08:50:43 PM
I really wish the volume would pick up 83 BTC is nothing.

Now 77.2 BTC, quiet time on the exchange. Wonder how much this is linked to people staying away from Cryptsy for a bit to let it recover.  Undecided

can someone give me step by step instructions for how to backup my wallet?

This is my first time with crypto currency ever, and I don't want to lose my 1SBC hehe.

Basically:
1. With wallet open go to the File menu and select Backup wallet... option
2. Pick a place to save the backup to and give it a name
3. Keep it somewhere safe (or a few copies and a few places). By places I mean not on the same hard drive/SSD/computer, stick it on some removable media.

Also recommend encrypting your wallet if you haven't done so.

A few searches on this forum will give plenty more info.
