181  Economy / Securities / Re: Lab Rat Data Processing, LLC (LabRatMining) Official Announcement on: October 09, 2013, 02:31:59 AM
The clusterfrack that was GLBSE can happen anywhere; something like it is happening here now.

Bitfunder, like most bitcoin ventures today unfortunately, is pure amateur hour. They are panicking, and so their clients are panicking. I expect LRM to emerge intact, but honestly, these happenings are ridiculous. No one will take bitcoin seriously when these kinds of antics are happening every few months.

I really don't think it reflects on bitcoin, these exchanges are purely for gambling.  Hopefully a serious one will come in to play built on p2p.
182  Economy / Securities / Re: [BitFunder] WTF! BitFunder Restrictions to US Citizens on: October 09, 2013, 02:24:33 AM
Yes, its all of ua USA'rs fault, die USA'rs. Stop being stupid, there is no government out there that's doing its people any favors.

Well most Governments don't try to control the entire world. That is the difference.

There is no difference, give your government the power to control the world reserve currency, lets see how long it takes before they are the bully on the block.

183  Economy / Securities / Re: [BitFunder] WTF! BitFunder Restrictions to US Citizens on: October 09, 2013, 02:21:02 AM
Well I am not really sympathetic. I don't live in the USA yet my own investments are being eroded away due to all this drama with your SEC and remember, you voted in your leaders.

You reap what you sow.

I prefer a world where there are no Bitcoins in the USA at all. How awesome would it be if the USA missed out on the cryptographic economy completely while the rest of the world surges ahead?

Time for Bitcoin to grow up and become the worlds economy, excluding the USA of course. I knew all along the USA and its goal to control and know everything was incompatible with Bitcoin.

Yes, its all of us USA'rs fault, die USA'rs. Stop being stupid, there is no government out there that's doing its people any favors.

Probably the US customers again, somewhere else..

Haha, Awesome.
185  Economy / Marketplace / Re: If you are a US citizen you basically can go F yourself - BTCT and now Bitfunder on: October 09, 2013, 01:37:49 AM
Or that only the people that we vote for make the laws. Seriously..

No kidding, also think about this for a second. This month its the US customers, what country will it be next month?
186  Economy / Marketplace / Re: If you are a US citizen you basically can go F yourself - BTCT and now Bitfunder on: October 09, 2013, 01:19:53 AM
sad to hear, but you are voting for those assholes who run your country and changing it to fascist state. Next time you will be not allow to travel abroad probably, only few of you would have a chance to even get a passport... sad to hear, again.

Lol at the fact that you think we vote them and that the winner wasnt already predetermined.
187  Economy / Securities / Re: Lab Rat Data Processing, LLC (LabRatMining) Official Announcement on: October 09, 2013, 01:15:49 AM
Could some more people panic-sell their shares for ~0.05BTC like people were doing earlier please? I wasn't quick enough...  Cry

lol

If you paid in USD Using this Better Calculator below ( In my Opinion ) I see ROI pretty quickly no matter how I change it. If you used BTC then you probably bought these when BTC was 76$ a coin then well ouch.

Even if you bought it using "free" BTCs that you bought three years ago for 1c each, you've simply lost (part of) their current value in USD.

Since miners produce BTCs you need to do something that increases your BTCs.

Every one here already believes that BTCs will have a higher value in the future, otherwise no one would be buying units that produce BTCs.

spiccioli

That makes sense, Anyhow I wouldn't complain if there was a Discount for the OCT units if they come the 3-4th week.

calculate 1.3 coins per day. "What a 400gh Fury makes today"
then drop that 30% every 10 days.

I don't see any ROI.

There is no way it just keeps Jumping its already slowing down with the current Diff, I am sure we will see huge surges at the end of OCT, and Jan, but I just dont see 1,001,375,593   Diff by Jan 28, just eyballing it that's like 5 times current network speed but only time will tell I suppose. Plus in the EU thread the new Units are hashing at a better rate one Person stated 35 Per card with pencil Mod, that's 560GH even if you only get 520 out of yours I still see ROI if you paid in USD not BTC.

So everyone who got late Aug. shipments received the compensation email?
I am not sure if i was missed or need to wait longer?
IMO, it didn't look like it was compensation, just "you keep the funds mined while we tested your unit".
(but I could be wrong of course)

I was under the impression they were pointing some of the 100th project at an account to compensate the late Aug orders because there were no units to ship people, the testing part really makes no sense if they had product to ship.

Think it would be useful to ship Dave a cheap VOM and a couple of sharpened pencils?

Can I use an HB #2 pencil, or does it need to be something else? Just looking around I did not see a difference.
HB is a good start to get to 1.2KOhm, after that it take a bit of an effort to lower the resistance. Softer / darker pencils make it easier.

Thanks for the Info, I guess ill have to see if I can find some that are a little darker and softer.

I have two Bitburner and they are a fantastic piece of work however these are out of my price range at this point in the game.
196  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] US/North American Bitfury sales now open ***full prototype pics*** on: September 11, 2013, 02:58:34 AM
It doesn't bother me any I was just confused as to how you could even complain about the compensation. Anyhow I will just stop so we can allow the thread to continue with its original purpose.
197  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] US/North American Bitfury sales now open ***full prototype pics*** on: September 11, 2013, 02:52:11 AM
I find it interesting, he is putting you in the same position that he was in on his previous failed project. He's pulling a "Tom" and using you to respond what what he will not address directly.

Dave is not doing anything like that.  Dave is very busy working on deploying hardware and fulfilling obligations.  I am doing this of my own free will to take some of the load off of him, as I won't be able to help with the deployments until Sunday.

I am sorry that you and I cannot see eye to eye, and also sorry that you felt that my above negotiated offer of the theoretical maximum output was insufficient.  If you would like a larger cut from 100TH mine's output, I suggest you ask Tytus personally and/or pose a vote to the shareholders of 100TH mine, as our position with 100TH is limited to that of the hoster, deployer and operator, not an owner or decision maker.  Anything they agree to we will of course abide by.  As of now we feel that we have made the most fair offer we possibly can to provide for all of our customers.

You are also free to request a refund at any point and we will honor it without delay.  Thank you for expressing your concerns to us.

First, your offer was unilateral. As per your statement of a negotiated offer, you are acting as an official agent for megabigpower and your actions here are deemed as official and on the record.  Additionally I am a shareholder in 100TH->200TH mine, maybe you should have read the thread a bit more before jumping in.

I will not request a refund on the hardware you have embezzled, I do officially request specific performance for you to deliver all orders immediately as Time is of the Esence, as per what was offered and accepted in the terms of purchase as the public statements made by Dave (BuzzDave). I will expect delivery immediately via overnight shipping as I have already paid for it.

Huh  They are giving you the same you would make with mining minus all other associated costs until they ship your hardware and you are still fussing? Bizarre.

You actually do not know how I mine or what my intentions were with the hardware.

My guess is you are selling it at a premium to someone else and every day its late someone else is pissed at you, at least that was the first thought that came to my head as to why the compensation wasn't good enough.

Anyhow their offer seems way more than fair considering this is the only company to ever do this and they certainly didn't have to.

...
Kano -- I'm on your side re: cgminer, but you don't need to drag my rate estimation into the picture XD
When I say things like "That's probably a fluctuation on the high side" and "I should report it as 34500 +/- 2500" do you honestly think I haven't considered the vagaries of various speed estimates?

Ah, I guess I shouldn't have even replied to this because I know you just needed a conversational node to bring up your lack of access to hardware. Do you want ssh access to my bitfury? 'Cause you can have it if you want...
...
Yes it is as you said, why I replied to your post originally Smiley

... and I guess this reply will explain that I want hardware not remote access and why.

I've said this often before, but I want hardware to be able to support it ... and I'm not interested in providing free support to people who are using it to make a profit ... and I certainly don't want to be losing BTC to support hardware.

Interestingly enough, I haven't so far with any - and that list isn't small IMO: Icarus, BFL FPGA, ModMinerQuad, BlackArrow Lancelot, BFL SC, AsicMInerUSB, BitBurner, Klondike, I even finally got a Cairnsmore1 yesterday after all this time ... but not from Enterpoint

It really is all pretty straight forward, people provide hardware, and we add support for it to the master cgminer.
My annoyance with the ASIC chip companies is that they want to make a profit from us directly for providing support for their hardware i.e. they want US to pay for the support we do for THEIR hardware ... they profit from us and we lose BTC in the process.

This is true of the ASIC chip companies: Avalon, AsicMiner ... and BitFury now ... ... ... but I'm sure to the chagrin of many, not BFL with their first gen chip ...

With the BitFury hardware appearing, I finally had some BTC (thanks to BFL supporting developers) to consider paying for some hardware.
So seeing yet again, another company wanting US to pay for THEIR support I thought, OK, I'm screwed if I don't get some more hardware due to the way difficulty is rising ... I'll probably have to switch off everything in the near future unless I can keep a reasonable hash rate ... especially all the non-ASIC hardware that I run (now at a loss) to keep supporting it
So I asked one of them, for whom I had recently added something to cgminer at their personal request (for no BTC), to BUY hardware from them.
The answer ended up being no coz they considered cgminer support from us not necessary (ironic?) ... so I asked to buy chips, since there is a local BitFury DIY to me ... I got no reply ... odd ...
I also replied to Punin (... yes, replied, I didn't start that conversation ...) that I wanted hardware that would pay itself off in a month (i.e. I set a relative price I'd be willing to pay for it) so that I wasn't losing out doing the support ... I've got no reply since that either ...

So basically, it seems that getting cgminer support is of no interest to BitFury ...

The first DIY to actually get cgminer support may be BarnTech here in Sydney where I live, if he manages to actually get BitFury chips in the not too distant future ... though the 500% price jump in BitFury chips has me wondering what's going to happen next ...

So, yeah, I'm not really impressed much with BitFury now either ...

Wait are you going to write support in for the Cairnsmore1 now that you have one? I still have 4 running but use MPBM, would love to have them all using Cgminer. Oh crud now I am derailing the thread. Simple yes or no will suffice haha.

Lol... the shopping list is getting longer... those sparkfun guys are going to love me.

The advice/recommendations are very much appreciated.

Hehe since your pictures are good if you wouldn't mind showing what this looks like after you have cut the traces and soldered anything that would be cool.

Just in case I need to do this in the future id like to see how its actually done.

See also this example: (source: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=250249.msg3099241#msg3099241)

(although that is a bit of a overkill)

In essence - make a narrow cut (1mm) just enough so that you can visually tell that the traces have been cut apart and that should do it. It is also a good idea to keep the cut relatively small - in case it turns out that this is the wrong chip Smiley
(yes - believe me - Murphy's laws were not invented out of boredom!)

Be careful as once you cut the traces it would be relatively easy to grab an end and just peel the entire trace off. That's fine if you're sure you'll never ever need it again (but are you?) Smiley

You can also use a small piece of wire (any wire will do) to connect the points. Or make a large slump of solder and bridge them that way. I'd go with a wire though - much easier.

Not as difficult as I made it out in my mind. Thanks for the pictures.
