Based on the PoSA public beta (which is mind blowing) and the exciting CIARA news, Cloakcoin should be skyrocketing in price, but it has fallen back some instead. If you think that all the name calling, arguing, and bad sentiment in this thread, twitter, wherever has no negative effects, then you are wrong. I totally get what Wheatclove is saying. There are no regulations in crypto, you are free to do and say what u please...just know and remember that it does reflect on the coin. Investors are probably coming here today to see what cloakcoin offers and now all they are greeted with is BS. ![Sad](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/sad.gif) Agreed. I still have a small amount of this, wondered why the price is rather stagnant (or declining), and figured I'd check out the thread to see some news ... something. Instead I see giant memes, FUD, and people arguing about... arguing. I didn't plan to invest more into this, but if I did, why in the world would I based on anything I am seeing in this forum? A little mature discussion would be nice. Perhaps some updated news on PoSA or One Market news... something. This.

Well, im sorry that bobsurplus is such a troll, he is not good at promoting your coin,
too bad he is against freedom of choice, if its not been dicctated by him...
but on the other hand, i wish you luck guys luck with PoSA and hope the best :-)
because, i dont dictate what people choose to invest in, people can invest in whatever they feel is the right choice if people ask for advice, i will tell them, im biased, that, is only fair why do we have to have these "pissing contests" why can we not agree on, that we dont agree on the methods we use, who knows, maybe sometime in the future, we will both be at the top of the list...
so, i think we should, for the good of the industry, try and behave....
Excellent, olive branch. Let's leave it behind. I for one think threads are better without flaming. I have some dark, I spend time in the dark forum, a lot of serious & committed people there. A lot of serious and committed people here. No need for a war. Planet has enough of that already.

The buy side is weak and the sell side will be hard to bust through. I say we are going down, I thought PoSA was good news?
Well I see the oppisite on mintpal. Looks like we'll be moving up this evening. Sunday nights are always goodnights as people make their weekly picks. I expect to see above 140 tonight. Pretty unique chance to pick up some quantity without slippage. I already added a big chunk today so it won't be me. ....

Well, the debugging of the exchange data gathering went faster than expected. It just sort of worked after a few minor issues. http://209.126.70.170/exchange_data has a Mac only version that will create an exchanges subdirectory and start gathering data for the pairs in the MGW.conf file, that also needs to be in the same directory as you run the exchange_data program. You will need around 12 hours of data to be able to see good charts, so if you have a Mac, hopefully you can start gathering the data while I finish the display stuff. Here is a sample MGW.conf file between the "###" lines ### { "MAINNET":1, "ORIGBLOCK":"16232361214057123821", "active":["DOGE"], "coins":[ {"name":"BTC","conf":"/home/root/.bitcoin/bitcoin.conf","asset":"4551058913252105307","txfee":0.0001,"NXTfee_equiv":0.0001,"rpc":"127.0.0.1:8332","blockheight":300797,"forkblockheight":308539,"minconfirms":3,"estblocktime":600}, {"name":"LTC","conf":"/home/root/.litecoin/litecoin.conf","asset":"2881764795164526882","txfee":0.001,"NXTfee_equiv":0.01,"rpc":"127.0.0.1:9332","blockheight":564980,"forkblockheight":594965,"minconfirms":5,"estblocktime":150}, {"name":"DRK","conf":"/home/root/.darkcoin/darkcoin.conf","asset":"17353118525598940144","txfee":0.01,"NXTfee_equiv":0.01,"rpc":"127.0.0.1:9998","blockheight":49594,"forkblockheight":0,"minconfirms":7,"estblocktime":150}, {"name":"BTCD","useaddmultisig":1,"nohexout":1,"conf":"/home/root/.BitcoinDark/BitcoinDark.conf","asset":"11060861818140490423","txfee":0.0001,"NXTfee_equiv":0.1,"rpc":"127.0.0.1:14632","blockheight":16000,"forkblockheight":0,"minconfirms":3,"estblocktime":60}, {"name":"DOGE","conf":"/home/root/.Dogecoin/dogecoin.conf","asset":"11749590149008849562","txfee":1.0,"NXTfee_equiv":200.0,"rpc":"127.0.0.1:22555","blockheight":250000,"forkblockheight":0,"minconfirms":3,"estblocktime":60} ], "timezone":"-3", "bittrex":[["BTCD","BTC"]],"cryptsy":[["BTCD","BTC"],["NXT","BTC"]],"poloniex":[["BTCD","BTC"],["NXT","BTC"]],"bter":[["NXT","BTC"]],"mintpal":[["LTC","BTC"]],"NXT":[["BTC","NXT"]] } ### You really only need the last part where the exchanges are listed. For "NXT" as the exchange, only coins specified in the "coins" field will work and the second part needs to be "NXT". For all the other exchanges, you should be able to put in any coin that they trade, though you probable need to put it in the right order to match how they are trading it. Supported exchanges: "NXT", "bittrex", "cryptsy", "poloniex","bter" and "mintpal" The time displayed will adjust by the "timezone" specified hours and should take into account daylight savings for USA peoples The program loads the orderbooks of the specified pairs, no more frequently than once per second to an exchange and additionally no more frequently than once per ten seconds for a specific pair. This should get most all of the price changes without getting you blacklisted by the exchanges for abusing their API. Each time the top of the orderbook changes, it prints out the details and also adds an entry to a binary file. Tomorrow, I will process this file and start getting some simple charts displayed to verify proper data and then finally I can code some tradebot logic, hopefully on Sunday James P.S. Please post any bugs that you find, it is really strange that it just worked the first time for all the exchanges, especially since they all have different syntax, especially mintpal and NXT dude do you ever sleep ....? ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif)

So many wallet questions in this thread.I have posted a couple and gotten no answers. Probably would be a really good idea with a help file under the help tab in upcoming version?

Thx for the link. Bit of a missed opportunity i'd say, he seemed pretty clueless in discussing it. Is that because of poor research ..............or there is just no better information out there?

Anyone who is thinking about securing a reasonable sized cloak position, the time might be now if you missed the low. Bids over .0007 on mintpal have more than tripled in the last hours, and just a couple btc of cloak left below .001.
I was buying all the way down and still have bids at .0006x but i doubt they will get filled. .0007x now has almost 10,000 in bids.

Price dropped to 0.00075910 and everyone is selling. Can cloak rise again, what is your oppinion? ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) actually the price dropped quite a bit lower than that, then rose to the current mid seventies. that 1240 bid on mintpal has gone unfilled for four hours now. asks are thin. people are holding. just one or two large buys would put us back right back in the 90s. so the the sky is not exactly falling. as for this kitco guy, don't know what is up with him. either trying to scare people into selling so he can get coins, or he has a knife to grind with cloak. whatever. anyone looking at this coin should ignore his ranting & evaluate Cloak with all due diligence, certainly studying the following elements: - proposed anon solution - total number of coins / market cap - current technical standpoint of XC, DRK, VRC - what has been implemented, what is in the pipeline where are the difficulties. - current market prognosis of those same three coins (study the charts, analyse how many bagholders at the various historic price levels, short & medium term probabilities, etc) - then do the research and due diligence on cloak itself. the devs, the solutions, the roadmap, the openess of communication with the stakeholders, current outlook, especially the 4 hr chart. don't listen to lunatics raving in forums.

Why the price is going down?
I dont understand this.
What's not to understand. PoSA is still being worked on. Until the world can play with it we're likely to see some slide. But, honestly I'm proud at how well the price has done in light of a challenging situation. The moment PoSA is live and it works as advertised we should see some buying interest come into the market. It could take days though... weeks possibly (for buyers to wake up.. not for PoSA, im sure that'll be ready soon enough). good time to accumulate. watch the order book closely, that is what is going on. some quiet, shrewd bottom feeding.

Is there a read me or help file for the wallet anywhere? Trying to understand how / why amounts move back and forth between balance and staking and what if any control there is over that. Thx for any feedback.

we need some statement from developers ...
We know, that PoW method is secure, but what about PoS ? i am only hoping, that is not fud created for marketing
Some info from relevant person... is cloak solving this problem ? new patch is solving this ?
dont expect more investors, if this questions are here.. obversely i am now thinking about pull off my investments from PoS coins..
I think that's not the problem. It's all because A bunch of greedy people/day-traders putting their coins on exchange hoping to make money in a short period of time. What if they put the coins in their wallets and staking to secure the blockchain? Hark fork will definitely be not going to happen. i think cryptoyeah has a valid point. a good time for those in the team to step up and give information, especially given the unresolved POS flaw that they say they have discovered. yea sure all the koolaid drinkers will give me shit again. but i have run a number of startups in my time and communication is critical. a few moments of clear communication gives huge benefits. so all y'all who are getting ready to type "leave the developers alone", save it. communication is an essential part of any nascent business. especially now. the cloak team could be communicating in a way that is positive, supportive of vrc, and clearing up the many questions that are being posed. and winning the PR game in the process. people keep talking about the opportunities to market this coin and build a solid public image. here is a huge opportunity. the excuse that the core team is too busy with important things to weigh in does not cut it imho. ok. cue hating responses.
