181  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NXT] Nxt - Official Thread on: January 16, 2015, 08:05:27 PM
Does Automated Transactions finally goes live on NXT?
It is marked as In Development.
AT is finished as a project and for NXT so far it doesn't considered to be a part of it.

Yeap... until v1.6 at least AT is not considered to get into NXT as a core dev said

184  Local / Ελληνικά (Greek) / Re: Δημιουργία Ελληνικού site για το bitcoin. on: January 14, 2015, 10:25:53 PM

Cry
αλλά μήπως θα μπορούσες να προτείνεις κάποια λύση άλλη για το πρόβλημα μας;

Εννοείς κάτι σαν το Mashable που έχει τρείς κάθετες κολώνες What's New, What's Rising & What's Hot ?
186  Local / Ελληνικά (Greek) / Re: Δημιουργία Ελληνικού site για το bitcoin. on: January 13, 2015, 09:04:59 PM

Δεν το κατάλαβα, τι ακριβώς εννοείς; Έχεις κάποιο παράδειγμα να στείλεις απο κάποιο άλλο site για να το δω;
187  Local / Ελληνικά (Greek) / Re: Δημιουργία Ελληνικού site για το bitcoin. on: January 13, 2015, 09:01:03 PM

188  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Qora | 100% POS | Assets | Names | Voting | Open Source on: January 09, 2015, 01:44:12 AM
I'm sorry to admit this, but Qora is going nowhere, it's dead.  Nothing separates Qora from a dozen other Alts...

You are wrong, there is something in Qora that separates it among dozens of Alts. And it's the developer of Qora.
A developer you relied on an IPO to gather peoples interest in order to bring to life his own invention, a new crypto currency that includes features that the entire world of crypto didn't have (or even knew about it).Look at the Guaranteed Features in the announcement post and compare them with the Completed Features in this thread. Those features has been achieved by one developer, on his own!And guess what, he has not even paid himself for that yet, not a single penny. The IPO money remains untouched.
It's really hard to find personalities like him.Did you valuate properly his work?

Qora is a 4th tier alt at best.

Did you understand the fundamentals and politics of Qora?
It's not just another cryptocurrency among dozens of Alts with glamorous videos and superior press releases.
Qora it is based and relied on ethics crucial for our generation.
Did you evaluated properly the asset / asset exchange capability of Qora?
Did you evaluated properly the Voting System ?
Qora has the most needed technological achievements for our "digital life".
Arbitrary Transactions can be use to store, recover and transfer data.
Automated Transactions can be used to serve us, providing thousands of applications and solutions in this "digital life".Even Internet Of Things can be based on AT.

Really, how this "tier" is estimated ?

I hate to be negative because we all have the same end goal, but it's reality.

... everyone is only here to make money, that's not a community.

I'm sorry for the rage in my words. It's not personal and not have to do with you.. as you said everyone is here to make money and that's why everything in crypto seems ruined right now.

But at least there are a few people who are trying to do something right now hoping to establish a great and healthy organization.
We will definitely have bigger results if more users doing little acts rather than few users doing the whole workload. So everyone is welcomed to join us in this
by filling this form or request a slack invitation.

189  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Qora | 100% POS | Assets | Names | Voting | Open Source on: January 06, 2015, 07:55:04 PM
Skerberus has made in the past an One Click Installer for Qora but due to trust issues was not adopted.
We have discussed it before a while @ slack with Skerberus and seems we have found out a possible way to have an one click installer for Windows.
With a bit of research we got a Bat to Exe converter that probably can create an executable file in order to launch Qora wallet (instead of using the .bat file) and Inno Setup to create the one click installer for Windows.
So if those tools can be used by Qora while compiling wallet then for Windows users at least there will a much more friendly approach to Qora.

IS THERE SOMEBODY WITH A MAC WALLET WHO CAN HELP ME?!!?! I HAVE ALREADY 1 MONTH ISSUES WITH THE WALLET AND I HOLD THE BOUNTIES AND I NEED TO PAY A DESIGNER IN ORDER TO CREATE SOME NEW THINGS FOR US. IMPORTANT!!!

You can proceed by doing the below :
Install Virtual Box on MAC
Create a new device and install Ubuntu ( video )
Install Java and Qora on Ubuntu and then launch Qora
191  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Qora | 100% POS | Assets | Names | Voting | Open Source on: January 03, 2015, 12:35:32 AM
Well, I finally decided to download the Qora wallet to transfer my coins from Poloniex to my computer. I've unzipped it but I'm not sure which file I need to open to run the wallet? Do I click on Qora.jar (executable jar file) or run.bat (MS-DOS batch file)? I can't find a readme file anywhere.

If you are on Windows then the run.bat will launch the wallet.
If you are on Linux/MAC then use the run.sh
192  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: AT could be used to anonymize inter-blockchain transfers on: December 14, 2014, 04:35:43 PM
So, the first truly anonymous transaction in cryptocurrencies, will take place between qora and burst?

Understand that if there is only one atomic transfer then it would be obvious but if we managed to get hundreds (or thousands) then I think we have created the starting point of a new type of mixer that runs across blockchains.

If there is only one atomic transfer the scenario to freeze this transfer until a second atomic transfer appears could stand?

This is brilliant !!!

If you might be interested in working with something new, PM me and I'll tell you my top-secret killer app project.  I need to tell someone.  I'm tired of being silent, even if I never finish this thing.

I will tell you my idea which can be easily deployed on top of Qora and serve us all.

As I said in my previous post, by using Jetty (i.e. to deploy a web app ) you can have an HTML based app which interacts directly with Qora wallet via API.
Then by using a base58 encoder / decoder you can store content to block chain and retrieve it as well.So actually this can be the base for a decentralized web.You can encode / decode HTML content from blockchain.
Actually this is just a first approach on this concept which can really exist on top of Qora.A more advanced development on this would be needed in order to have this one more efficient (i.e. a customized language for "compressing" HTML tags ).
But a microblogging platform would be a much more easier approach to start working on this concept.

@Qora i know the wallets are not public now but if we were to get someone to work on a new wallet design would you provide that to them privately?

The current GUI is build in Swing.
Everything should be reevaluated and rewritten in something more suitable.

What would be better than Swing?

My vote is a separate http servlet, serving static pages.  I know this is what Nxt does but it's easy to do and easy to make beautiful.

+1

Jetty can do that, and is already on Qora

If I recall correctly, Nxt does implement the servlet through Jetty but the pages are dynamic through JavaScript.

JavaScript (JQuery for example) can server dynamic content.

Here is a tutorial on how to make a simple jetty web app. This could be a good starting point for creating a wallet. Then the JQuery will make API calls to Qora wallet and an HTML wallet can be real.
Then Bootstrap can be integrated as well to make the HTML wallet more "fancy".

We can start a Git repo for that and start the deployment of this "wallet"  Grin

EDIT : Also here is a more experienced block explorer for Qora which is based on Node.js. This one can be used as well to develop a wallet based on Node.js

I have send a PM to all the users who have submitted their willingness to join Qora Team.
Once I hear back from them and they confirm their interest, I will try to establish a communication channel for the team and we could start working for Qora coin.

The form will be remain active and people will be always welcomed to join Qora team.
198  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why blockchains might want to consider using AT "Turing complete" txs on: December 03, 2014, 12:24:25 AM
Slightly OT, but Qora has just announced Open Source for 9th December:  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=881230.0

AT integration on Qora will be continued as normally into the existing private repository.
199  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Qora | 100% POS | Assets | Names | Voting | Open Source December 9 on: December 02, 2014, 11:43:43 PM
Things are moving !!!

AT integration is still in progress and both devs are working together closely for this.
Source code is going to be released in a week.A new moderated thread has been created.
So far we have a few submissions in the form regarding Qora team but it is good enough to establish a team.... and more to come!!!
200  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Qora | Released 16 May | 100% POS | New Source on: December 02, 2014, 08:23:50 PM
I would like to thanks everyone who submitted the form so far.
We can now establish a team and start working on Qora with all the people who wants to be a member of that team.
In the next days I will reach all the members who expressed their interest in order to establish a communication channel.
