now in all of this , to unite everything it need a wallet that can take them all
look this project MWC in bitcointalk
can be useful

An interesting idea!

There are several ways to connect the participating coins and particularly their values with each other.

A multi-coin wallet is certainly worth considering, although it's not exactly mandatory - on the most basic level, it is enough to simply bind the value(s) together in a concise and well grounded manner.

All options will be looked into. A lot is going on although it may seem quiet on the surface... Wink

It's a big picture, I'd look at a holistic approach, as clean groundwater is but one life sustaining asset.

Have you ever looked at the Stockholm Resilience Centre?

It's a bit obnoxious, and plays a bit too much with Weber and Popper. It's hunger for publicity is quite breathtaking.

But it is nonetheless the primary established institution that judges life as we know it on more than one or two disjointed issues.

It's informative, openly admits its work is falsifiable, but is pioneer in its field.

Re: Water rights

Very important, and the destruction of water quality starts with agriculture, farming, farming animals (and grass for them to eat).

Excellent points!

Stockholm Resilience Centre was a completely new thing to me - thanks for the tip!

Hello everyone, just thought I'd give an update on Sativacoin (STV). I have continued to stay active on twitter and have attracted the attention of many more merchants and investors. I also reached out to former holders/supporters of the coin to spread awareness as well.  Together we can make STV the primary and trusted mj crypto currency! On askcoin.com/votes we have made it to 37th place in less than a week! I have reached out to other exchanges to get us added to their voting list/exchange. I will keep everyone posted on progress in that regard.

Please visit the new thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=874071 and join the STV conversation today!

Pastafarian

Thanks for the update and the excellent work you're doing with Sativa, Pastafarian! =)

Hi everyone, and thanks for the comments!

As I mentioned in my original post, I am aware of the negatives as well. However, I'm quite convinced it is actually a very small fraction of ill-willed people who are causing most of the "dark side" phenomena to occur.

While I'm relatively new to the crypto scene, I've been around and involved in all sorts of online and IRL projects for a long time. Without being blind to the obvious problems, I'm still saying I have never seen another scene with so much people with genuine good will.

These are very interesting times in so many levels. While the crypto scene is growing stronger by the day, the "real" world out there is showing more and more signs of collapsing into it's own conflicts. While it's becoming more and more difficult to say anything certain in the middle of such radical shifts and changes, I do see the significance of both cryptos and the related technologies growing into a truly reality shifting force in the very near future.

185  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][GB] $ GreenBacks $ ~ A Complete Currency & Infrastructure ~ on: December 16, 2014, 08:20:16 AM
Hello everyone!

My apologies for the delay with the update; there is a lot going on here and the 24 hour daily limit it causing some serious problems. Wink

I'm happy and honored to have been chosen as the new leader of the Greenbacks project. The transition of the resources (web pages, crowd funding system etc.) is underway. No radical changes are going to happen right now; we'll first make sure the transition is fully accomplished before venturing into any new areas.

As some of you may have noticed, I've been quite active lately putting together some quite unique solutions that are meant to provide new level of credibility and stability to the crypto currency scene. There are technical level improvements (such as the addnode seed network), but much more importantly I'm working to build a resource backed framework to provide true and stable value to selected cryptos.

As many of you also know, the historical background of the name Greenback is deeply connected to resource backed currencies. Abraham Lincoln was strictly against the fiat fraud and specifically wanted greenbacks to be backed by gold standard.

As explained in a post I recently made to the 420 Alliance thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=874423.msg9782634#msg9782634), I've been planning to release Watercoin; a coin that has it's value backed by the uniquely high quality Finnish groundwater. While the option of Watercoin is still on the table, my focus is now in making Greenbacks the resource backed crypto.

There truly is a lot going on behind the scenes right now, and it will take a while until all the pieces of the puzzle have been put together. Please be not disturbed if there are periods of virtual silence between updates; while it may seem nothing is happening, things are developing at a truly amazing pace right now.

You're all free to reach me out any time. While I may not be always able to keep up with the discussions (I have tens of threads with constant updates), private messages reach me basically 24/7 with the rare exception of me having few hours of sleep every now and then. Wink

I'm truly honored to be at the helm of such a high quality crypto project, and will do my best to maintain the incredibly high quality that Greenbacks have been put together from the start.

Yours,

Jyri

Website (faldoran.com) moving along nicely.  Should be pushing the "hire" page soon and then the "attack" portion after that.  once that goes out people can test out the hire and attack, during that time I will be manually updating number of turns people have at random times through the day.

and remember.  If you want to invest in this game and receive a portion of the profits as dividends check out my listing on https://coinsortium.co/project/FALD

it will help me come up with server costs and coin purchases for the jackpot

Perfect - those are wonderful news! =)

Dear everyone,

just a quick outburst of positive energies. Wink

I'm a 40-years old entrepreneur and innovator who has seen a lot and been involved in hundreds of different projects, start-ups etc.

Never in my life have I seen so many positive, co-operative and innovative people at one place as there are in the crypto currency community.

I just keep getting stunned by the amount of genuine good will and unselfish behavior I'm faced with basically every time I get involved in a new project here.

Yes, there are scammers and trolls and all the rest - but they form a tiny marginal compared to the overwhelming amount of people who work together towards a common goal, which (as I see it) is the development of the best alternative(s) to the fraud based fiat currencies. Even when there is competition and schisms between projects, the game rarely gets really dirty.

It will be very interesting to see what comes out of this all in the next ten years or so. I'm not sure if most of the folks around here actually realize that it's currently the scene that pushes forward not just technologies related directly to crypto, but web and peer technologies in general as well.

This is quite simply the coolest shit in existence.

I'm so happy to have found my way here and will keep doing my best to support the community in every way available to me.

This is just being explored and no Dopecoin hasn't committed itself to the 420 Alliance yet ( that hasn't even been built ). There is nothing wrong with discussing ideas! happytoexist needs to relaxe. We are still aiming for darkmarket/cannabis area too .... This was just a more general approach to generating interest outside the cryptoworld  Wink

Yes, to the point!

The Alliance is just being born and the goals getting defined, and while Dopecoindude is one the key people in forging the future of the alliance, that does not mean DOPE would automatically become part of it. Everything needs to be discussed in great detail and depth first, also among the community, and we're really at quite an early stage at the moment. =)

Looking forward to the details.  Any luck with the 420 alliance?

Hi, and sorry for the delay in responding!

"Luck" may not have much to do with it but we are making progress. Grin

Hoping to get a web site out this weekend so we can get properly organized.

Dear Dev,

I am very happy to see CND still be alive.

And How about CND on Bittrex ? What should I do ?

Sincere thanks!

Support CND again !

Hi, and sorry for the late reply!

I'm coping with a huge and ever growing TODO list over here.

We're attempting to get a web site out this weekend so it will be easier to coordinate things properly.

As for CND, I'm communicating with Bittrex to find the best solution to the forking issue; there are couple of different approaches we can take and the one chosen depends a lot on how the Bittrex crew responds.

What's the difference b/w adding altcoin center's additional nodes and not adding it?
I got lazy and didn't add the nodes, but I am staking fine so I am just wondering.
Thanks

Sorry for the delay in responding!

In addition to providing as fast as DDoS resilient access to the block chain as possible, the A.C nodes also have the specific mission to be able to stay in sync with each other even if something happens that disrupts the intercontinental Internet traffic.

The nodes have backup connection plans in place that are depending on some level of Internet connectivity being available, but still being able to get around basic issues such as the normal routing tables of the mainframe routers getting messed up etc.

The rationale behind the design has to do with the potential forking issue described behind these links:

I agree that if there are steps that need to be taken above simply installing the wallet then those should be outlined specifically on the website.  Hopefully someone who knows what they are doing can remedy that.

As for modifying the BitcoinDark.conf file and putting that in the appdata, I did all of the above and the wallet is still slow.   There is no change whatsoever from performing the above steps.  My wallet was normal until about two weeks ago and then all of the sudden it started running slow.  It may even be slower after adding lines to the config file.  I don't know.  It shouldn't take four hours to download 1000 blocks of blockchain.  Nothing has changed on my end so maybe it's just growing pains with all the development that has been going on.

Hi, and sorry for the delay in responding!

It is a very common problem in the crypto scene that the instructions are either missing completely or are written from the assumption that the users already know what a .conf file is, where it's located etc.

I will be remedying this problem on a general level as soon as the new A.C web page opens.

Are you still having the same synchronizing problem? It sounds as if there might be a fork around; i.e. as if the block chain had split in two or more separate copies. One of the symptoms is very slow sync / download speed as the wallet software checks and dumps the blocks it considers invalid. I'm not saying this is the case but it is one of the possible explanations and should be checked ASAP to avoid further problems.

Thanks for the post, Jyri. It instills confidence that the coin is / would go in safe hands.

Look forward to your progress in finalizing things with dminer69 !

Thanks for the support, imd1!

As a quick update, the negotiations with the original dev have not yet concluded but we're getting there.

There is a lot going on on several fronts right now, ranging from the 420 Alliance Watercoin project to a handful of takeovers, from the catastrophe resilient addnode seed network to a very unique multipool, and more.

Please do not be alarmed if no updates come for a day or two. I'm not of the type to just vanish when things get hectic; simply having trouble coping with the 24 hour per day limitation... Wink

I'd love to hear of any wishes and ideas you the community have regarding further development of XCLD. I'm particularly curious to hear your comments on the cloud features; have they been of use, what kind of new features you'd like to see on that front, and so forth. =)

Hey Jyri

Drop me an E-mail, u fell out of touch with us for a while. I would say let's DO LUNCH but your like a gazillion miles away.

=)

Hi!

You made it first - good to be in touch again!

I've been totally overbooked handling a number of takeovers of coins abandoned by their developers, starting up the 420 Alliance etc. Would absolutely need some capable people to whom I could outsource at least part of the work. I have found a superb young entrepreneur with a wide range of skills covering everything from server administration to PR, but there's just so much to do (and so much potential to tap to) that having a proper organization set up is absolutely mandatory.

Ok, thanks for the information, I should be able to handle that.  But listen, I have a full time job that is not on the computer so when you say "OP" I have no idea what you're talking about.  I guess I'm showing my ignorance here.  I searched it and couldn't find anything about OP.  So, I don't know where to find this config file.
He's referring to the Opening Post (or first posting) on this thread.

I'll try adding those node's into my config file to see if that resolves the syncing issue.

Adding the node information to the config file should help a lot.

It's not quite clear though where the config file is, or does it even exist in the first place.

If you're using Windows then the location of the file is C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Roaming\BitcoinDark

By default Windows Explorer is not showing hidden folders, and since AppData is hidden, you will have to go to the View pane in the Windows Explorer first, and make sure that Hidden items is checked in the toolbar.

The config file does not exist by default either, so you may need to create it. The file is an ordinary text file and it should be given the name BitcoinDark.conf. You can create the file using, for example, Notepad.

Much more detailed instructions are still needed but I hope the above gets everyone with sync problems going. Please ask for further info if needed.

You can also speed up the initial sync by downloading this file and putting it to the same data folder mentioned above: http://altcoin.center/blk/btcd/blk0001.dat

OP refers to "original post".

You are pointing to a very true problem that is common among the whole crypto currency scene: things are still happening and instructions written from a strongly technical point of view. Even someone like myself who has a firm background in IT systems design had to spend lots of time figuring out how this stuff works. The information is out there but it's fragmented and usually not definitive.

I intend to do something to fix this issue in the Altcoin.Center context, providing an information package targeted for the common folks. There needs to be much more understandable instructions about this all if crypto is to be made a mainstream thing.
