181  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Segwit, and batching, a must in these times on: August 12, 2020, 11:56:19 AM
I agree that batching can provide some benefits, but as the article author is stating, only big organizations that are making a significant number of transactions every day will get the benefits.
Such big organizations can be only the major crypto exchange platforms and the big online crypto casinos.
If you are a small crypto trader or your cryptocurrency business is below medium-sized,implementing batching won't have a significant impact over the fees that you are paying.

Arguably, the larger companies batching their transactions does benefit everyone, because it potentially frees up space for other transactions.  If an exchange had 100 separate transactions in a single block, it would take up more space than one singular batched transaction to 100 different recipients.  The more efficiently the available space is utilised, the lower the fees will theoretically be to get your transaction included in that block.
Technically applying the theory above even people who make lots of transactions on any exchange will benefit from the lower fee system when applying benching. This is to say that if benching gets incorporated on the major exchanges then everybody wins, exchange platforms get more traffic and users get lower rate. Its the perfect investment for great business operation efficiency! This seems like something worth testing out by these large crypto-based platform providers ...
182  Economy / Economics / Re: Btc and gold can now be called "safe" on: August 10, 2020, 09:47:20 PM
Not sure how you can call a cryptocurrency that has more than 5% volatility safe....

Sure, it's probably safe from being banned by most governments, and we can be pretty sure it's never going to crash to absolute zero, but it's definitely not a safe haven investment in the slightest.

It's still high risk, high reward, and it's a long way from being anything different.
183  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fear & Greed Index and Bitcoin Price Chart of last week on: August 10, 2020, 08:20:20 PM
I think the fear and greed index isn't a perfect prognosticator of the BTC price. After all, it is a lagging indicator, which means it doesn't have much utility as part of a technical analysis attemp.

I think it's a good indicator of the current state of things, but not really sure how you're supposed to use the indicator as part of your trade decisioning.... Anybody care to explain?
184  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Buying PayPal USD with BTC i have on: August 10, 2020, 03:52:37 PM
Are you offering BTC at a 10% premium or 10% discount?

e.g. Do you want $900 PayPal or $1,100 PayPal for $1k BTC?

Always good to mention whether we're talking premium or discount, as it's not always obvious.
185  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can idena.io be the best altcoin in 2021? on: August 10, 2020, 01:02:23 PM
There are already plenty of cryptocurrencies that don't require huge hardware requirements to stake or operate a node, there's even a few that can run a node on a mobile device. I don't think this feature alone will help Idena grow in popularity.

Unless it has some incredibly lucrative reward system and an incredibe team (which it doesn't), it's going to find it difficult to compete with upcoming behemoths like Orion Protocol and OpenPredict.

I'd stay away from it if I were you. It doesnt' look like anything special.
186  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Hoidex on: August 10, 2020, 10:45:29 AM
How did people even find this exchange? Doing a quick Google search, I couldn't even find this exchange on any forum post or any social media post at all. Heck, the exchange isn't even relevant enough to be on Coinmarketcap.

First of all, doing a Google search it appears that there was an attempt to at least create the platform/site. You can see from the image below there was some content there...

The issue seems when you click on Hoidex.com link you get this.

All in all this is more likely a Scam. Why do you people use these obscure exchange platforms when there're quite a few credible out there? Almost like you're asking to get scammed...
187  Economy / Gambling / Re: TOP 10 Crypto Casinos 2020 | CryptoVegas.xyz | Casino Reviews on: August 09, 2020, 09:37:43 PM
Checked your site out and observed that Fortunejack and Betcoin were the only crypto casino sites that I recognized while the rest seemed like new crypto casinos or FIAT only casino sites which is pretty bad since the competition include many of the top crypto casinos currently.

If you wish to compete with them, you need to add more popular sites like Primedice, Bitsler, Crypto-Games, Stake etc and your reviews need improvement too op since they didn't discuss certain features.

You said it and its only right to critique the laziness, sloppiness of this so called 100% honest Review casino. The fact that the top10 listed here are not even the common places we're all familiar with but instead a whole new bunch of unpopular ones suggests but one thing - fake & manipulatory reviews/casino.

Also why bother adding a page when there is nothing there i.e. Post is completely blank  Undecided
188  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I'm dumping my coins because.. on: August 09, 2020, 06:46:10 PM
I'm usually a holder I still coins and tokens I've got from Bounty campaign just like the two of the just recent projects I've participated in I'm still holding both of them but there are instances in the past that I dump my coins/tokens  because
The coin is not progressing and I want to buy coins that has more potential.

So what is or are your reason why you are dumping your coin?

As you probably know already crypto holding is all about being patient. If you can't do that then you are not good fit for it and must look somewhere else.
Personally, I dump either when I can take some profit and don't want to risk depreciating that profit further or when I see the whole trend is looking downwards. This is to either reinvest or take a break. In any way this when I sell is all dependent on my confidence in the market and that's dictated by trends -there's not an easy formula for this but instead calculated risk and sometimes dare I say gut-instinct.
189  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Nigeria Becomes Fastest Growing Crypto Market In The World on: August 08, 2020, 10:29:38 PM
From above link above: https://bitcoinworld.co.in/nigeria-becomes-fastest-growing-crypto-market-in-the-world/
Among top countries in Q2, 2020 leading in peer to peer Bitcoin transactional trades on the African continent were:
Nigeria – $34.4 million dollars.
South Africa – $15.2 million dollars.
Kenya – $7.8 million.
Ghana – $640,000.
Tanzania – $600,000.

Out of the 7 continents Africa is probably the highest in government corruption so given this there is no much surprise that cryptocurrency which allows people to escape institutional governance is doing so well. My concern is that many more people from this continent as well as others will not have access to internet so not everyone would be able to take refuge in crypto.

On the other hand, seeing that Africa as a whole is growing rapidly the real challenge will come when all of this will come to a halt due to the poverty line being reached. Realistically there are limitations to how many people can understand BTC and are given even the chance to buy/sell or use.
190  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The new drama has started in Altcoin on: August 08, 2020, 09:34:23 PM
AS for many days, the crypto market is now in good conduction as compare from the last three to four months. But now a new thing in coming to altcoin, that the prices of all altcoins are fluctuating very badly and not able to stable in a single position for at least an hour. So, what should we do in this dramatic conduction of altcoin?

This market fluctuation is to be expected, and there is little you/we can do to control for it. One thing to keep in mind is that investments do fluctuate so the best thing to do is to select a project/token/coin you think will withstand this volatility. Also, when investing in any coin do be prepared to lose it too.

Overall, there is nothing you can do to control this fluctuation the best option is to chose carefully and trust the project, also be super patient.
191  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Coinbase CEO Says Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency Must Evolve to Reach Mass Adoption on: August 08, 2020, 07:52:17 PM
To be fair, the fact that something needs to change to achieve mass adoption of cryptocurrency isn't exactly unexpected news. We all have seen the struggle BTC and other markets are having especially when major institutions pull off minor setbacks.

These setbacks don't affect investors who already understand how crypto world works but it is off putting to those wanting to join the network. This is the grey area great improvement is needed.

In essence, we need to make cryptocurrency easier to understand, buy/sell and use in every day life. Those are the obstacles that stand in the way of mass adoption.
192  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why do exchanges get away with faking trade volume? on: August 08, 2020, 05:14:05 PM
It is too easy. And that is a problem, and I think we are always faced with the dilemma all across the sectors in crypto. Trading, exchange, gambling, mixing, basically any service, not only trading...

What should we do? Fight for more consumer protection, so more licensing and more regulation? But Huobi, Bittrex, Coinbase, are all regulated just in different jurisdictions and all have been or are guilty of wash trading.

That's the limbo we're all facing. Many crypto sectors could get away without complying to any regulations because there's no requirement but then we users should know better right? And that's why forums like these exist.

This is not to say that all platforms are meddling with numbers and such but the prevalence is high. Consumer protection and licensing might unravel a new hole shite pile of trouble at least when done traditionally, but this is something many finance sectors are dealing with - its not easy.

The bottom line is to always be protective over your money no matter in which platform it goes into. Oh yeah, and read the small prints!
193  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🦢 GooseBet.io 🦢 The Newest iGaming Dividend Casino With BTC, ETH, TRX and USDT on: August 08, 2020, 10:05:33 AM
Hey there,

Good job for making this happen - it's looking good. I wanted to ask you to describe what the criteria is to be receiving dividend, is this on a high roll basis?
Also the competitions you have are intriguing and I think they could be a bigger hit if you better advertise to the gambling community. Other than this, I could say keeping getting the traffic because this site is looking promising with plenty to do.
194  Economy / Economics / Re: Exclusive Tax Proposals On American Billionaires on: August 07, 2020, 09:23:12 PM
I don't believe we should be targeting the billionaires, unless we can prove that they have made their wealth through dubious or frowned upon methods.

We need to weigh up the total effect of their existence in terms of tax revenue, benefit to the economy, benefit to society and mankind as a whole etc.

If the world is net positive, despite their wealth, then they should be spared. If they're basically a vampire sucking the life out of everything they touch, then we should enact policies to prevent this behavior.
195  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Guide] - How to use different order types. on: August 07, 2020, 07:50:31 PM
Another great post from you, newbies should bookmark your profile and read through your threads before they begin trading. Would probably end up saving them money.

Are you planning on doing a thread about derivatives trading, e.g. going over key terms like leverage, liquidation, cross-margin etc?
196  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Selling 25 BTC @9000USD each on: August 07, 2020, 05:14:25 PM
Wire transfer
Proof of coins and KYC will be provided

Only half the amount to be paid and I shall send 25 coins to wallet. Up on confirmation wire rest of the money

No complications and no frauds entertained. Money required for family emergency

Thank you

What an incredibly lazy scam attempt.

Do you really think people are going to believe that you'll send almost $300000 worth of cryptocurrency after receiving $112,500 upfront? What kind of morons do you think inhabit this forum?

GTFO.
197  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How is it possible to create custom Bitcoin addresses like these? on: August 07, 2020, 03:31:08 PM
Those ones with an extremely long custom address are generated using a vanity generator. But the ones you mentioned would be practically impossible to generate in this way.

Instead, they are almost certainly designed to be burn addresses. People send their coins there to burn them since we can be pretty sure that nobody has the private key that controls the address.

These addresses don't actually need to be generated. Any valid address already exists, so you can just send coins to any variation of valid addresses and it will end up in the right place.
198  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Grayscale: Net Assets Under Management, $5.7 billion on: August 07, 2020, 01:37:33 PM
I don't think this is a bullish indicator.

The more money is locked up in a single place, the greater the centralization risk.

If Greyscale goes under, that would be catastrophic for the industry. I also don't like that Greyscale could easily manipulate the market if they wanted.

I'd rather see a large number of smaller hedge funds maintain an AUM of $5.7 billion total.
199  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: best place to find new low cap projects? on: August 07, 2020, 01:23:20 PM
I personally just follow the press releases launched on CoinTelegraph.

You can normally assume that if they've got enough money to pay for PR, and they've got good fundamentals, then they're going to perform well.

You can also just look in the announcement section of the forum, arranging the threads by newest to find the latest gems.

Stay away from anything that has an anonymous team though, these will almost certainly collapse at some point, or be an outright scam.
200  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: top 6 cryptocurrency , Invest in 2020 on: August 06, 2020, 09:04:50 PM
Before investing gain knowledge first.
The best coins to invest are the popular coins.
Allocate a big portion for bitcoin then invest in different alts.
Just make sure you did a proper research and dont rely with other investor's suggestions.

I cannot stress enough how important gaining knowledge is. This would give you the best skill you need as an investor. The obvious choices are to go for coins which have most of the market capitalisation at least that's a long-term investors' choice.

However, large market capitalisation and being the top coin isn't everything. DeFi coins are also a good choice  Wink
