Update for tech freaks:
Except one service, all critical 611 services are now running container based in a Docker cloud. Cheesy

If you are running Docker hosts feel free to join this thread to support the project sharing node ressources.

Do you have a user account on mine.611.to?
Pointing your miners to "[...] -o stratum+tcp://mine.611.to:3333 -u Weblogin.WorkerName -p WorkerPassword" should work.

Are you able to mine pointing your miners to "[...] -o stratum+tcp://p2pool.611.to:9332 -u [YourBitcoinAddress] -p xxx"?

Do you like to provide me a fork of P2Pool allowing to peer-to-peer pool-mine 611 [coin] without merge mining Bitcoin?

Mine.611.to is fixed (Thanks PatrickMacH)
The P2Pool @p2pool.611.to:9332 works great  Grin
& yes a fork of the p2pool on github would be great

Moreover 611 did almost not loose any value against BTC during the last months: https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/sixeleven/
Staking and merge-mining SIL coin together with Bitcoin was a clever deal during the last months Wink

Hey guys,

there is a significant amount of P2Pool.611.to merge-mined SIL [coins] unclaimed.

Send me a priv message if you are owner of the BTC address (verificiation) and want to claim your merge-mined SILs.

Have you thought of doing a github p2pool for 611[SIL]?
also pm sent & the sil blockchain is not stuck but my miners still say mine.611.to is dead  Huh

Be wary of third party bootstraps

That's why I'm providing checksums on the file(s), the source bitcoin-qt client version and OS used to create the bootstrap file.
It would be perfect if another user can cross check the values bootstrapping the same blocks (or a future block) to verify the results.

188  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: **Download the blockchain here, updated regularly ** on: December 19, 2016, 12:52:03 AM
Bitcoin Blockchain Data: 14 November 2016.
Block number: 438785
Size: ~ 60 GB [60,785 MB]
Uncompressed size: ~ 100 GB

Format: compressed 7zip containing a bootstrap.dat.
Move the decompressed bootstrap.dat into your Bitcoin-Qt application folder and (re)start your Bitcoin-Qt client.

If you don't know how it works you can check the details on the download page.
Indexed with bitcoin core v0.13.1 on Mac OSX platform.

Beware that after decompressing the 7zip file, you need additional 100 GB to import the bootstrap file!

Download link: https://flo.sh/bitcoin-qt-bootstrap-dat/

Code:
MD5(bootstrap.dat)= 7ce2a9e61abbf2b169fc5d606fde44b6
MD5(bootstrap.dat.20161114.7z)= 1167e3f933612afc531e071d38c93665
SHA256(bootstrap.dat)= b7ba2d026a7a27d67a26737f5333ea7b399a6e495a60c16099eb3d58824a1069
SHA256(bootstrap.dat.20161114.7z)= b1f1b474b55aae59a7644d3975a00cdbb6cbc7475e26e2fb23c13c29638b8e62

UPDATE: The download page now requires a donation of whatever amount to (https) download the latest copy of the Bitcoin Blockchain.

Is there a need for this file to be updated on a regular basis? i.e. once a week or once a month?

Hint for users short of disk space:
Depending on your usage scenario you may be better running a bitcoin-qt node in pruning mode. For example that's perfect for miners helping to reduce the node hosting costs. Miners running a P2Pool node can send me a hint and I'm happy to provide the patch needed to support bitcoin-qt pruning mode.
189  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: **Download the blockchain here, updated regularly ** on: December 19, 2016, 12:42:15 AM
Bitcoin blockchain data 10 September 2016.
Size: 68.95GB
Uncompressed size: 89.2GB
Format: compressed zip contains everything inside bitcoin data directory.
Indexed with bitcoin core v0.11.2 on windows platform.

A true hero.

Can i use that for latest bitcoin-qt in mac ?

Yes, you can of course.
As far as I know the bootstrap blockchain file should work on any OS running an up-to-date version of bitcoin-qt.
Let me know if it fails on any (non standard OS) for whatever reason.

There is no hidden premine.
Right. So you're saying that the premine that was discovered, that you wanted to move elsewhere & that you promised to donate to charity doesn't actually exist now??

For real?
What's your point, blu?
This is a public project on GitHub. No one did stop you following this fork of Namecoin since the early days and to support this crypto coin sharing mining resources. Indeed based on the difficulty level very few did until I've published this thread on Bitcointalk. [source: be.611.to]
Now you have to be a fool solo mining Bitcoin missing to merge mine 611 (SixEleven) coin. No matter if you like this project or not. It's like wasting resources and profit.

Following this thread carefully you may have noticed that I do not own mining equipment and that I'm not earning money on this project. Since the early days I support this project, because I like the idea of combining a free domain name based database with a crypto coin.

If you like the idea of this project but disagree with this implementation please join the code development on GitHub and improve the code or fork the coin. That's how it works for every project.

I'm donating a significant amount of my income and spare time for charity so tell me what do you do?
194  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: pruning mode on bitcoin core 0.11 - can i use P2Pool ? on: November 18, 2016, 04:17:36 AM
i have read that pruning mode is only for "node" mode of the bitcoin core.
i use "node" mode and P2Pool system to mine (hobbyist).

can i have a problem to use P2Pool and pruning at the same time ?
thanks Smiley

Enabling pruning mode seems to prune the genesis block information, too. This block information needs to be available for P2Pool to verify the correct function of the rpc interface.

So in order to get P2Pool working with pruning mode enabled you have to keep the Bitcoin genesis block available for verification OR you have to modify your p2pool/bitcoin/networks/bitcoin.py file ...

** snip the BS **

You're joking right?

The reason the price has remained "stable" is because nobody is touching it with a barge pole due to your piss poor attempt at hiding the massive premine from everyone. The ONLY person who's buying is you (or whoever is holding the 50% premine) in an attempt to hike the price in readiness for your dumping of it. Nobody with more than one brain cell will buy into this crap so you can get rich & disappear - it's all been done before.

50%+ premine. Hidden from ANN. Lies about charity donations. Ignores burn requests.

Obvious scamdev is obvious.

It's your opinion and it's your choice.
There is no hidden premine. 611 coin is an open source project on GitHub since the first block. If you disagree with the degrading mining fee rewards (keeping the value of 611 coin stable in comparison to almost any other altcoin) go on and fork 611.

For sure I'm no crappy monster making big profit of another altcoin & disappear. Look, 611 coin is running up and stable for more than a year, now.

I'm so glad that it's not you and me deciding about the future of 611 coin. It's about the miners. A fact it is for more than a year that 611 coin is constantly more profitable to mine than Bitcoin is.

So it's up to your brain to do whatever you like Tongue
197  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Profit with Altcoin(s) on: November 02, 2016, 12:52:01 AM
i am not sure about this because as far as i am trading, there is always moving trend which is up and down and we all know about it. and if you want to search which altcoin have producing profit more than the last six months, then the answer is no altcoin which have this conditions.

I'm looking for altcoins being more profitable than BTC in long term (six month and longer).
Of course short time trading of several altcoins offers great opportunities if you know what you are doing, but that's not the subject of this thread.

It seems to me that almost any altcoin goes south against BTC after some time (even the successful projects). Undecided
I'm wondering why it is so difficult for any altcoin to keep value against BTC in the long term.
198  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Profit with Altcoin(s) on: November 02, 2016, 12:42:59 AM
Oh you want list and chart? good luck then, only profitable coins are eth/dash/monero and a few others.

thanks for the hint but it seems to me that investing into DASH and/or ETH six month ago, you would be on loss against BTC, today. Undecided
199  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Why are all the altcoin up today? on: October 31, 2016, 02:00:25 AM
Why are all the altcoins suddenly up today when they were all down the last three days? Who or what is controlling the altcoin market prices?

Altcoins are the edge of technology. Smiley

If you have new ideas and/or if you think money, trade and technology could (and should) be better tomorrow you are welcome to setup your own alt[ernative] coin project.

But like with many other inventions only a tiny amount really hits a significant market demand.

Cryptocurrency exchanges and trades are still highly unregulated. That's why trading Altcoins is subject to a high risk level.
200  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Profit with Altcoin(s) on: October 31, 2016, 01:51:59 AM
Hey guys,

this thread is for curiosity Smiley

Out there in the wild, there are many, many Altcoins. It's really hard to find the sources of stable revenue in this jungle.
Do you know an Altcoin producing profit against [...]/BTC and/or [...]/USD for a period of more than the last six months?

If yes please join this discussion with some quick stats, charts and the [coin] project details. Cool
