When I learned about the Russian meteors, I rushed over to this forum.
Needless to say, I am extremely disappointed by the lack of accusations that this is actually a false flag operation by the government or how there is actually a war that is being covered up. Are all our conspiracy theorists sleeping in late? Shouldn't they work on shifts so I can feel better protected from mainstream perceptions of reality? Do they wait until Alex Jones airs so they can get a consensus conspiracy?
Ah yes, the old "some conspiracy theories are untrue, therefore anybody who disregards the mainstream media is a nutjob conspiracy theorist and should never be listened to" viewpoint.

It always amazes me that people in Democrat-controlled states are so excited about Obama. They always seem to point to the Republican failures and that makes them feel good. I suppose the strategy of pitting us against each other is working. If you're in an "R" state you're supposed to hate on the D's but never think for yourself. Don't let them divide and conquer. Think for yourself. Amen. If the left and the right ever figure out they are resisting the same enemy a third party would destroy this silly Dem Vs. Rep. stuff. What's funny too, is the brainwashing not only makes them direct everything bad that happens at the other party, but also everything good that happens at themselves. The other day I was talking to a die-hard republican friend of mine, and he was absolutely convinced that the Republicans were the main proponents of the civil rights movement and that Democrats were the only pro-segregation force that was stopping it from happening.

I was wondering on what legal authority does the state or federal government have the power to ban X
Where X is about 95% of the things that are banned in the U.S.

Don't forget that their interpretation of "the border" is "anywhere within 100 miles of the border." Wired made you a handy map. I present, The Constitution-Free Zone: good, good, i'm glad if i literally lived just 5 miles to the south i'd be out of that zone

Because it would have killed you guys to have a link to the article in the first post like 90% of the threads on this board do? I guess it's better than sending millions to die at war, lying to the american people on a regular basis, caring more about personal power than the rights and liberties of the people, kicking the can down the road when it comes to dealing with the deficit, trying to disarm citizens, advocating ridiculously high taxes and still letting our infrastructure fall apart, growing the already bloated military, and giving away billions of taxpayer money to foreign nations. Although I do try and not adhere to the "what my guy did was o.k. cuz the other guy did worse" mode of thinking.

Why can't Americans even get retribution right? There's nothing worse for me than pricks who claim they're on the side of good or justice then go around shooting up the children of the people they claim to be fighting against. If I ever needed to explain why I veer more towards Anarchism, I'd say this is it, justice is bullshit, most people who claim to follow it are worse than the people who they fight against him and the police that are chasing him have turned this into an ol' fashion civilian casualty-fest. Dorner: 4 Police: 3 oo, it's a close game!

so what do you guys think? what are the chances these bills will pass? Congress could really use the boost to their approval rating. what is it right now 5%? This measure would surely improve that statistic considerably.
Why would I give them kudos for legalizing something that not only shouldn't have been illegal in the first place but also something that they've spent billions on trying to keep illegal? Besides, they aren't truly admitting that people should be able to use whatever substances they want as long as it doesn't harm or infringe on the rights of other people, and until they do that I won't be impressed. Additionally, if anything ever gets passed on the federal level, it will do what Washington did and ban people from growing it themselves, which if you ask me is just a recipe for cigarette companies V2.

I bet silkroad is crumbling as we speak! Yup, it's hilarious how they think they are actually winning this fight. Actually, they probably don't think that, but they can't exactly admit to the public that there's jack shit they can do about it so they have to put on a good show. This isn't the first conviction, there have been arrests before. This is just the first time they were able to OFFICIALLY link it to silk road. 90% of the time somebody gets arrested its because they were an idiot and didn't package their shit correctly. Also because they were shipping internationally. Don't ship internationally, and you won't get customs on your ass. Guy I order from has been operating for years for two reasons, damn good packaging, and he refuses to ship outside the U.S. (where he operates).

Ugh, I usually have liked TheYoungTurks, but this coverage seems unfair and misinformed. Was also impressed with the father for graciously acknowledging the response that he practically invited from them.
Seconded on all points. I don't think they were aware that it was edited at the time, young turks are usually pretty fair in their coverage.

A father of one of the kids who was killed in the Newtown shooting gave testimony advocating gun control in Hartford, Conn. Near the end of his testimony he said "Why anybody in this room needs to have an, one of these assault-style weapons or military weapons or high-capacity clips. ... Not one person can answer that question" and then stood silent and looked at the gallery behind him, as if waiting for a response. Several people shouted responses such as "the second amendment". MSNBC cut and edited the video. So to the viewer it appeared as though audience members interrupted his speech about his son with shouts and jeers. One MSNBC headline of the event read "Mocked and Loaded: Sandy Hook Victim’s Father Heckled by Gun Rights Advocates". Article: http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/lookout/newtown-father-heckled-second-amendment-191804834.htmlUnedited Video (15:00 - 16:00) http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=R_wKQaWUMGE#! Edited Video (0:35 - 0:45) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4GrgjaYQeiA-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The audience members should have been much more polite, but this incident still highlights the easily-corrupted sensationalist media of today.

The features of most of them seem quite clearly to be caricaturized stereotypical Jewish. Like what? We must have different stereotypes of jews here in the U.S., all I see is a bunch of old fucks playing monopoly. Not saying that it wasn't anti-semitic, or that it was, just saying I don't see the stereotype there. Either way, its free speech on trial by fire at its best.
