181  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] Infinitecoin - IFC high coins per block! V1.2 Released! Please Upgrade on: July 15, 2013, 04:15:23 PM
People are still snapping up the coins on cryptsy even though people are dumping billions of them, if only there was some way to get people to hold onto them for a while. Perhaps make a bank that gives a little interest or something... Just an idea. Maybe the interest can be funded by donations from the biggest IFC holders?

Edit: Thinking a little more on that, the interest could be paid if and when someone has the coins help for like a month? Maybe have it in-line with when the reward halves or something like that?

No idea if it would work, just throwing it out there.

Non the less I am holding mine anyway! Smiley

Those are just bots creating the impression of demand. You will not find me trading any of my coins on any of those bot infested exchanges.

Did you see what the traders at Cryptsy did to MEM ?? Who will be their next victim ??

In case you still haven't done it yet.. here is my infinitecoin.conf setup. If you need more help, there are plenty of guides if you have a look. Wink

Whooa WTF ! I just won almost 35M IFC with only 420 1k tickets. Grin

congratulations! Wink

Ty Smiley

HT xD

Not being argumentative but I see no difference if it is a bot buying or a person, at the end of the day a person has to set the bot up right? And ultimately they are buying the coins, so the demand is there all the same.

No I don't use cryptsy, I just look on there regarding the price for IFC. I look on coins e too but don't trade there either.

Thanks for the conf file, but it doesn't exactly help me as I have no idea what to do with it lol... I will seek out a guide at some point... It is too hot right now for me to bother with the headache lol.

Mid july now and still no further word? I think July is looking unlikely, or they would have given a release date by now surely? Mind you they never said definitely July in the first place, just they were "looking at July". Non the less it IS coming, so hold onto your hats! Smiley

Third infinitecoin site? lol Why not?

http://infinitecoin.net

To do:
Rewrite all texts.
Porting to php (perhaps typo3)

Looks nice bro, I like the ticker at the bottom and the graph etc. Got to admit though I am not a fan of those types of scrolling web pages, where the  background stays static (not sure about what they are called). All in all though it is nice. How about adding the lotto site etc?

Guys I have never solo mined before and I want to give it a try as I seem to be losing loads of shares with the pool I'm using...

I have read the explanation on the main page and it doesn't make much sense for me.

It says that to sync the wallet I need to put the conf file in c:/ blah blah, but I didn't do that, I just downloaded it and ran it and it synced fine. Now say I want to mine solo, do I put the miner in the same folder as my client and then put my wallet address as the username? And then leave the password blank?

When I put the miner with my wallet do I just put the executable in there or does all of it need to be there?

I will try it now anyway to see if it works but any help would be great, thanks.

EDIT: Okay guess not cos that didn't work lol... I'm lost Sad

there is other side to dumping billions ... somebody is buying them Smiley Anyway at this point block reward is still very big and there is a lot of profit in dumping them for smallest price that is allowed by cryptsy. Slowly block rewards will be cut in half each month and I believe that after 1-3 months, price will start to double each time block reward is cut in half.

Well yeah there are a load of them being bought up but the sell walls are a little ridiculous and I think that could put off some investors. Still I think the level right now isn't too bad. The only thing I worry about is that in cryptoland a month is a hell of a long time, there could well be another 30 odd coins out in the first month the way things are going lol... Still I hope you are right and the price does double every time reward is halved. Would defo be nice! Smiley

Thanks bud, great promotion!

Edit, have given you your trust feedback (first person I ever did that for)...

Selling trust ratings for  a few pennies of IFC is not cool.

Happy to have some coins and check out his website but I won't be helping set him up with cheap false trust for scams.
yes trust is for 2 way transactions not one way transactions

Then why exactly did it let me do it? Go talk to the site admin, not me! There is a comment section, nowhere on my trust rating did I say I put up any money! But the guy promised to send the coins and came through! Jesus christ! People can always READ the comments in the trust section and see what exactly happened, okay bud??? Next time I choose to do something, should I run it by you all first? LMAO
i was speaking to the OP, you are obviously free to give trust to whomever you wish

Well that is awful funny because you seem to commenting regarding mine and the other chaps comments as shown by the little sub thread above... But hey so glad to have your blessing there even if it contradicts your original comment. Lol

1 trust point for 1 cent each LOL

I wrote twice in the OP how many coins I was giving away. ffs

yeah, sure... whatever you say though guy

I gave him a trust point actually so you are wrong on both counts lmao... You're drunk, go home! Lol

Wait, just seen your reply here... First of all it is up to ME what I do, okay? Who the hell are you? Did you know that telling people what they should and should not do isn't cool? Didn't anyone tell you that? Secondly the trust rating has a comment section so I put exactly what he did! No more, no less, so what is your problem? Thirdly people have to gain trust some how!

I gotta say I can't stand self appointed police like you, go take a run and jump!

EDIT: Oh and just one further note, I didn't "sell" anything! Please point out where I promised to give him trust for the IFC's? Oh that's right, you can't, because I didn't!

Infinitecoin.org +++updated+++

Looks real nice, probably one of the best actually... I have come round to the idea too... I was perhaps a little hasty to write it off so early on, so I admit that I may have been wrong but I guess time will tell. I just hope that it is continued to be supported. Anyway again really nice job there!! Keep it up.

Don't take this the wrong way but it sounds like so far this coin is being propped up by you alone? My question is, why? Why are you propping up a mere clone coin? A coin that no-one but yourself has any confidence in? Do you really see the coin getting past those sell walls? There is like 200 BTC worth to get through before it can start to climb, that is a fair mountain right there. Also the buy side has completely gone now. No-one wants this coin, not even for a satoshi. Sad

I know you think it should be pitted again LTC but I don't even think that will help it. The coin is going the way of the do-do, although your comments do intrigue me. I would like some further thoughts from you.

Fair questions.

No, it's not being propped up by me at all, I have no buy and no sell orders on at any market, and don't plan to have any either. I helped increase the value of IFC and acquired quite a lot, which moved the price up and then it stabilized back at 3000% what it was a few hours before I started buying. That is at least some confidence in the coin.

The fact is, that each currency only has the value which is ascribed to it by those holding the currency. Gold has no value unless everyone agrees it does, likewise Bitcoin, likewise Litecoin, every coin. I don't expect InfiniteCoin to compete with the major currencies, but I do feel it has some merit and some value, because of the sheer quantity of them, and the fast times to mine / support the network, it could easily be used for anything from microtransactions, to transferable store card points, to game credits and all sorts of things, by the time you break it down to uIFC that's a huge amount of scope, just takes one good idea to be implemented and IFC has a stable long term value.

FWIW my original sums were based on a market cap of about $12.5 rising to $25m long term, and staying relatively stable against a fixed currency.

As an extra note, I set my transfer fee to be 2 IFC. You can possibly extrapolate out from there to get a value for the coin if you agree it's a fair price.

Hmmm well what I meant was that it was propped up buy you, I actually didn't see that the cryptsy buy side was empty till after I wrote that...

What you say about the store cards or game points is intriguing although I'm not sure why anyone would use IFC for those purposes when they could just make up their own out of thin air, like they do now for instance. Still, I hopped back on but I am wondering to myself now if it is even worth it lol... I suppose a few days won't hurt...

Btw, what does it feel like to be a billionaire? Smiley

Edit1: I see, okay thanks

Edit2: Not sure why you think I am insinuating that, I was merely curious as to why you would support something that you yourself deem as a clone coin that people just wanna dump, that was all.
195  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] Infinitecoin - IFC high coins per block! V1.2 Released! Please Upgrade on: July 12, 2013, 01:28:54 AM

you're holding over 4b IFC?

yes, but may i stress that I don't move things on markets, I hold then move blocks of 100m to investors at price points, off market, so as not to move price. Unlike miners who just dump it for nothing

As long as people know there are holders of this magnitude the currency will not be allowed to rise in price, and miners will pay for their electricity as best they can.

Another few days, another halving of the block reward.  It might be enough for miners to still dump at .00000001.

In that time it needs to get into many hands, or people who are smart enough not to say this.

When miners cannot pay bills at .00000001, or when cryptsy dumps IFC to secondary markets - we will see.  If it is in too few hands, it will fail. Two more halvings, I estimate.

It was in the hands of people who'd dump it on market and for next to nothing, now it's in the hands of somebody who holds long term and manages funds for mid sized private investors around the world. Surely that's a vote of confidence.

Also, read back, this is exactly what I said (about single people with large holdings) and why I took it out of the hands of dumpers. I also sponsored the work to get it added to a decent exchange, added significant liquidity in to the market at a loss, and am organizing to get it on to a more realistic LTC market whilst it moves from weak to strong hands. I've got confidence in the currency long term, but not much in the people who mine and dump, what's the point in mining a currency you feel has no value, that just devalues it. Investment and backing increases it.

ps: you're welcome for the 3000% rise from 0.00000001 to 0.00000090 and back to stable at 0.00000030 (LTC) / 1 satoshi

Edit: Hmmmm, I see that it has now been delisted from coinchoose, your doing also? Wink

Edit: Just checked out the pool I was mining with and they are reporting that their hashrate is larger than the network hashrate, how can that be? lol If it can stay off coinchoose and I can be assured it will still be supported I might actually start to mine it again.
196  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] Infinitecoin - IFC high coins per block! V1.2 Released! Please Upgrade on: July 11, 2013, 09:06:07 PM
IFC is the extreme version of an alt coin.

It was mined to hell and back with a huge coin count.

Nobody mining the coin had/has any faith in the coin being worth anything at all. They were desperate to sell for anything they could get, even 1 satoshi had people itching to dump the coin in it's billions, and still does.

The distribution of the coin was horrible, with several people owning 1-5% of the mined economy, the same people who feel it has zero value and who would dump it for anything they could.

Then the coin went to market, it started at 90+ satoshi on cryptsy and immediately bailed down to 3,2,1 satoshi.

The market showed it's true colours, adding on to the miners itching to dump the coin, the traders were only trading to take a profit in BTC or LTC, they quickly realised that when the bid and ask are at the lowest values possible (1 satoshi and 2 satoshi), then they make 100% profit by keeping the price at that level.

Now the miners and the traders are stuck with 40 billion worthless IFC that nobody will buy.

The only way IFC, or any alt coin, will be successful, is if 75%+ of the people involved, holding, mining, and trading, actually feel the coin has a value, otherwise it's doomed.

Sounds about right... I mean if the miners had just held the coins and dribbled them out rather than dumped them instantly it could of gained some traction and the holders would of made mad profits. Anyway I'm calling it as done, still I don't really know jack so... lol

197  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] Infinitecoin - IFC high coins per block! V1.2 Released! Please Upgrade on: July 11, 2013, 09:01:31 PM
Well just started mining this coin for the hell of it but then I looked at cryptsy and saw the sell walls lmao, this coin is dead in the water unfortunately. Still was a nice little experiment. We now know that coins with huge block rewards don't work, so there is that. Smiley

what happened at cryptsy is changing hands from miners to traders.

once enough traders hold it we will see if it comes to life.

Right now there are more infinitecoins than anything except zimbabwe dollars (which is dead I think) and XRP (which isn't really a crypto Wink )

once the coins are more distributed without so many miners holding 100 to 500m things will get a little more active.

Maybe not a lot though, we'll see  Grin

Of course it COULD happen but it sounds like wishful thinking to me. Time will tell of course but I can't see it personally...

XRP's I see slightly differently as they go hand in hand with the ripple network which is slightly interesting.

Dear, сhinese friend) do you know about api trade? This coin trades every minute))))))

Chinese? Say what??? And no I don't know about api trade.... But what I do know is this coin is dead. It would take forever to clear that backlog and so no one will invest... In a week this coin will be long forgotten... One good thing though it takes some hashpower away from the real coins! Lol. Sorry just my opinions of course.

200  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: July 06, 2013, 06:58:28 PM
If you don't want to go for a full, physical miner, and want to be among those who get the 1-500 series, you can still buy shares of Saturn 1-500 in at least in this open group buy. There are plenty of open GB but this one (possibly others) offer 1-500 shares (first served).

What like give my money to some guy and then hope they don't run off? Nah think I'll pass on that one lmao... Though I realize that there is the same risk with KNCminer etc but at least they are vat registered etc and have another company so I feel it is less likely with them.
I have to agree with snaz on that one; how rediculous... "Shares of a Saturn"...   Why not just bend over & spread your cheeks for him too, lol.

LOL, there was one that I was contemplating and that was cloud mining based here in th UK. He seems pretty professional and if I were to go that route I would go with that, just the prices are pretty damn steep for what you get. Anyway for £1311 a 100 GH is a steal! The only thing that is really holding me back is the BFL thing. It would kill me to have paid that money and still be waiting a year later! lol

Edit: And thanks for the link, I shall take a look at that.
