181  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading tips that helpfull for beginners on: July 23, 2023, 09:32:22 PM
Risk Tolerance :
Define your trading goals it,s may be short-term or may be long-term gain. If you prefer actively managing trading by market news then the shot trade is the best option for you. Profit and loss depend on the risk high risk may give you a high gain or high loss but a good strategy cover it deeply.
Beginners won't understand this too early. What they need to have is to have more experience and gain more knowledge through it and then this will be learned.

This also includes the amount that they want to trade and to start with because not everyone starts big already and that's the entire process that a beginner should go through.
The problem with some beginner traders is that they usually think that trading at a bigger capital will also gain higher amount of returns. That is a wrong mindset since you can’t expect that trading will certainly be profitable in the end. The reality is, the bigger money you trade, the bigger amount of losses will be. Unless if you become a professional trader, you can always increase the size of your trades.
182  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why Crypto may go wrong for some people on: July 23, 2023, 09:05:30 PM
I honestly think that beginner investors have the wrong mindset about understanding the basics of cryptocurrencies. They think that this kind of platform is a gateway in order to absoultey reap rewards after they invested a certain amount of money. But in reality, investing in cryptocurrencies require all the patience, determination, and knowledge similar to your conventional investment mechanisms (e.g. stocks, banks, real estate, etc.).

If a person wants to profit in cryptocurrency, then they should treat it seriously- investing without knowing what you just entered into results into loss of your profit in the future.
Whether they’re newbies or not, the fact that they have invested the wrong way will definitely lead them into consistent mistakes and losses. That’s why a lot have end up quitting because they never had the chance to correct their mistakes and just thought that quitting for good is a good option to cut their losses instead. However, for those who have re entered the market and are wiser enough, then they will not do the same mistakes again but chose to invest rightly not to maximize their profits, but also to minimize their losses as well.
183  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We All Know, The halving time will be full of drama on: July 23, 2023, 08:34:21 PM
The moment you started investing in such a volatile market, drama is already there as you can experience seeing a lot of FUDs and hypes that will make the market moves into roller coaster. Much more when halving is here. However, if you have been here in the market for long, then I should say you’ve get used to it already. One thing is certain, if you are weak and easily faint, then you will never win on this volatile market. Lucky are those who never quit and keep on investing despite of its inevitable losses.
184  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue | WBC & WBO 122 lbs bout | July 25 on: July 23, 2023, 11:09:18 AM
^ That is a controversial statement by his coach, but it seems that Fulton is just shrugging his shoulder as if to tell this coach to shut up.

In any case, Fulton with or without that hand wraps, believes that he can and will beat Fulton as his own country in front of his crowd. So that is the mentality that Fulton has right now. No need from his coach to throw some rants on the media. Japanese is very respectful, but if you talk trash maybe we will see Inoue unleashes his full potential and power at super bantamweight as he might be agree with that statement.
He is already making excuses just in case Fulton loses; he already has one. There's a governing body that would ensure the fight is fair and square, so he doesn't need to worry about that. Besides, in the first place, Inoue would not think of cheating, as that would jeopardize his boxing career.
185  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: July 23, 2023, 09:37:42 AM
Back-to-back wins Kabayan! Nice upset from both under dogs, NLEX wins against Converge no need for a handicap and then Gin kings ML is really sweet as they beat the unknown reason to be a favorite after that win against Phoenix, but today they didn't possess that aggressiveness to win against the Gin kings.

Another addition to cover those losing streak Kabayan bisdak! Congrats!

Thanks kabayan but the battle is far from finished hehe. This time around, it was the Ginebra Kings that got huge help from their 3on3 players with Cu contributing 8 points but the interesting thing on the game last night is that it was only Khobuntin who scored double digit for the Katropa with 25 points, all his teammates only manage to score single digit.

Odds for Magnolia vs Phoenix is already out and the spread is too wide as far as I'm concerned, is this another gimme?

Though I think this is a clear win for the Hotshots but i don't think they can cover the spread this time around.

Yes, Kabayan! lucky for you that only Khobuntin had a better game and the rest are just playing, I mean a usual routine of TNT just go and play the game and it's good if you lose then move forward nothing else, kidding aside, Gin kings gives them a solid performances and really aiming for that win so it's good for the loyal fans who continue to bet for them and not being shake when TNT manage to win against Phoenix.

This upcoming game is something that needed to analyze deeper, handicap is really huge and for me, it's up to you Kabayan! Bahala ka na! hahaha.. Good Luck!

I would rather go under on the total than risk on the spread. Magnolia is capable of winning by a big margin as that's what they usually do, but my worry is, what if they slow down tonight and let Phoenix win the game? It's 50/50 for me, so I would not risk on something I'm not confident about.

My bet would be under 191.50.
186  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Every Bitcoin holder Should Take a Cybersecurity course on: July 22, 2023, 09:50:00 PM
This is not actually necessary but if you have the means to get that course, I believe it can also be very helpful on your part. Especially with all scamming and hacking news every now and then, it’s best to secure our non-custodial wallet at all times. However, even if you don’t get to study on that, learning on how to secure your wallet is still possible through studying this forum and of course, through your own experience in safekeeping your coins. As you keep on hodling your coins, you will know eventually the dos and dont’s when securing your funds/coins in your wallet.
187  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading as a newbie - advice? on: July 22, 2023, 09:16:22 PM
I have been looking online for a book to buy to start things off does anyone have any recommendations?
www.babypips.com is a nice place to start the basics. It was part of the sites I slept on during my formative years in trading. I strongly recommend it. However, whether reading babypips, other resource materials or not; it still boils down to practicals. If you read all you want but don't demo trade or back test whatever information and strategies you've assimilated from books or sites it amounts to nothing. Practice is the main thing in trading. You need to burn the midnight oil doing that. Trading is a serious business career.

Again, once you think you've found your footing in demo trading and want to go live; learn Money Management (MM) and don't ever force trades. Let the trades come to you. If trades delay or don't come, act like nothing wrong happened. No one needs to be trade every day to be profitable.
Certainly. Reading will never guarantee success in trading although I would say it’s also helpful but everything will still matter on how experienced you are in trading. That’s why some chose to have a demo account first before they start to engage in live trading because trading needs more practicals especially in dealing with emotions as you can’t learn to manage your emotions just by simply reading and studying trading. So do prior reading and let your experience do the rest.
188  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: do anyone have done this? with gambling platforms on: July 22, 2023, 01:37:10 PM
In an event like this, The casino will immediately think that you cheated them. They will lock your account and ask for KYC and that’s a natural first reaction. You would the same if you were in their shoes. If it is non-KYC/instant-withdraw casino we are talking about, then it is a whole different story because these casinos know that you can’t really cheat them in any way. They trust their code so you can win and leave right away and nobody will stop you.
Locking your account is something the casino will do easily, especially if you have committed fraud and are known by the casino. If their winnings aren't huge and the casino is a non-KYC/instant withdrawal casino, they won't hinder those who want to withdraw their winnings. But if the user is proven to be cheating, even if it is a non-KYC casino, the casino may ask you to do KYC before processing your withdrawal. We must remember that casinos can easily check the account of every gambler present on their site so don't try to cheat the casino because they will find out.
If a gambler is caught cheating, I think it's not necessary for them to undergo a KYC process. The casino can simply close the account and forfeit the balance. As gamblers, we are well aware that if we cheat, we cannot hold the casino accountable for doing the right thing. KYC should only be associated with requirements mandated by the regulators and not with cheating cases.
189  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Anthony Joshua vs Dillian Whyte II on: July 22, 2023, 09:27:35 AM
They have gone to a lot after their first meeting, Joshua back then was so great and on top of the world he commanded respect and people thought he was invincible until that 3 losses, those losses exposed him, and because of this Dillian Whyte will take this opportunity to put all these demons in Joshua mind, Whyte knows that Joshua wants this fight and he is here to spoil everything, he knows that Joshua will try to put up a great fight so he can challenge Fury and Wilder for a big fight.
Anthony Joshua is really in a good shape and frame of mind ahead of this fight, the fact that he has a new trainer is really helping him into the right shape and frame of mind for the fight. Anthony may not be able to be his best like we saw in his prime, but he can fight better than he did in his last three fights. And for the same reasons that he knows how important this fight is, he will take it seriously and not give Dillian any chance to stop him from his target of getting through to the next fight against Fury.

That's always been the case for Joshua after his first lost to Ruiz and Usyk. In the second Usyk fight, he get the services of American trainer Robert Garcia, but still, he failed to win against Usyk and he had a break down after the fight.

So this is very important for him, although he did get a new trainer, but still as the first round starts, it will be just him and Dillian Whyte. And it's going to be more mental for Joshua here rather than physical. He might be in the best shape of his life, but if his minds has started to doubt that he can win, then it won't help him here, IMHO.

It's his own self who is going to be his enemy if he hasn't moved on yet from his defeats in big fights. Unlike Whyte, who isn't too popular, so he doesn't have much to lose. This fight is going to be a stepping stone for both boxers to make their names popular again. The winner here might be given an opportunity to slowly climb the ladder until that championship fight comes again.
190  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 22, 2023, 08:49:53 AM

Perhaps they are still very young then, if and my memory serves me right, they have to trade Harden then to ease their luxury taxes. But I do agree, what if prime KD, WB and Harden playing at OKC. And then they have Ibaka and Perks at the middle and Fisher at guard position.

They could compete back then, but I guess they don't have the experience back then. And then KD moving to GSW was the final nail in the coffin for them as WB can't carry the team although he has the best statistical numbers for him and won MVP.

They reached the NBA Finals but lost. After his season with the OKC, Harden had a great offer, so he had to leave OKC and join the Rockets. If I'm not mistaken, it was a great decision for him, as most players would always prioritize what they make over winning a championship, especially if a player is relatively new.
191  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Newbies can't profit from crypto without knowing how to trade. Truth or Myth? on: July 21, 2023, 09:50:54 PM
I overheard my coworkers discussing the idea that new investors in crypto cannot make profits without possessing trading skills. I would like to initiate a discussion on whether this claim is true or false. In my view, this belief is a false notion that is spread by individuals who want to discourage those who are curious about investing in crypto. What is your perspective on this topic?

Guys, I mean what other ways can newbies benefit from crypto investment without having to be a day trader or a professional trader. Because I believe there are other ways to earn aside from trading.
Focus on DCA and in less time, you will start to profit in crypto without getting yourself involved in trading. Trading is a lot more risky that’s why some people are hesitant to start to trade, and so they just focus on investing and with their patience and their ability to manage their investments for long term, profits are definitely waiting ahead. So investing alone is already profitable, as long as you stick to its basic of buying low and selling high.
192  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Spreading bitcoin awareness; Your personal security matters first on: July 21, 2023, 09:23:23 PM
In my country, the government is not really all out support for bitcoin, but if you try to discuss with few people around about bitcoin, other people won’t even care and definitely it’s not a crime in our country. However, if you offer to discuss bitcoin in a public school, or convincing the people around to get acquainted with bitcoin, that’s a different thing. You will eventually become the target of the government and charge you some penalty of breaking its law. Bitcoin is our future, but seeing most of the countries government are still one sided, then it’s safe to just keep bitcoin on our own.
193  Economy / Economics / Re: What are some financial secrets that you know of? on: July 21, 2023, 08:37:23 PM
Hey everyone. What are some of your wealth secrets that you could share with us?

Buying homes with cash and taking loans out on it?

Setting up trust funds in foreign countries and setting offshore corporations to avoid capital gains and taxation? (Sorry tax avoidance for any LEO reading this)

What are your secrets?
I have no financial secrets to be honest but it’s all about hardwork, dedication, positive mentality and persistence on your goal. Without these, you’ll never come to achieve financial stability and independence in the future. Also, being knowledgeable especially on managing your finances and sticking to what’s necessary and disregard those who are not will also be a great help in achieving success in your finances.
194  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: July 21, 2023, 01:18:23 PM
It turns out the odds were quite a trap. TNT managed to win the game, and that ended their losing streak. Luckily, I was not able to bet on that particular game as I would never put my money on TNT moneyline since they have been struggling. I believe many bettors had fallen into that trap.

I'm one of those.

Speaking of TNT, they are scheduled to play tonight against Ginebra where they are the slight favorite to win. I think Ginebra has the chance to upset TNT today, they only have to guard and limit the offensive output of Khobuntin, TNT's leading scorer in this mini-tourney.

NLEX +6.5 @1.80 vs Converge
Ginebra ML @2.58 vs TNT

My bet, hope will win and be on the winning track once again.

Congratulations on the first game win! You don't actually need a "+," as NLEX has won the game. Currently, it's the battle of Ginebra vs TNT, and Ginebra is leading the game. So, I would say this might be your night, mate. Good luck and enjoy watching the game!

Make it a perfect night for bisdak. There are only less than 2 minutes left in the game, and Ginebra is leading by 12 points, so this is surely a win for him. Also I would like to say congratulations to Bisdak. I'm sure you'll have a good night's sleep now. Hehe.

Mind if you share your total bankroll balance now?
195  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 21, 2023, 12:38:29 PM
He already has a net worth of billion dollars. He surely doesn't play for money anymore. I admire his passion and love for basketball immensely. Like almost every other player, I would have been retired much earlier. But he is still going strong. I don't think anyone in the history of sports has ever been this much effective at this age. He can still bring championships with being the star of the team. Everyone forgets how old he actually is, because he plays that good. Well, that being said, chances of Lakers for the title are not too strong of course. Anthony Davis's health is still in question, and it will probably always be like that. I don't think lakers can get the title this year. Maybe if or Lebron change things for the next year, there is a chance.
He is destined to be a Hall of Famer. Maybe he will not become the GOAT, but people will never forget the name LeBron James. In the history of the NBA, I would consider LeBron James as one of the top 3 players, but that's just my personal opinion. With LeBron still playing in the NBA, it makes the games more interesting to watch. Everyone knows LeBron, and it will help boost the number of viewers, especially when his team reaches the NBA Finals.
196  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou Boxing October 28 on: July 18, 2023, 01:49:36 PM
If I was Ngannou, such a confident bad ass knockout artist. I would take a risk and fight Fury for free right now and try to finish him.
Fury would so happy to accept this terms, but Ngannou cannot be too confident that he can win on this fight as Fury is at advantage here as he has already knockout a knockout artist in boxing, remember Wilder?

Odds don't lie.

197  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight (july15,2023 on: July 17, 2023, 03:10:33 PM
Yeah it is on a bigger stage but sadly they are not the main event.

Regardless, even not a main event, what matter is, it's a title fight.

Not that really a big deal that from an expected main event, it will now be part of the undercard of the mega bout between Terence Crawford and Errol Spence Jr. Promoters did a great job here to boost the PPV sales after the changes happened on the original undercard list.

The main event is not just a unification bought but for the undisputed belts so it really deserves as the main event.

But I would've preferred this fight as the main undercard since this is a title fight. It is still Pitbull Cruz against Giovanni Cabrera as the main supporting event though it is also a WBA and WBC eliminator. And the fact that Donaire is not a PBC fighter, it is not surprising that they prefer Pitbull to have better exposure leading into the main event.

I doubt Donaire will get a share of the PPV revenue but obviously, he gets a higher purse here rather than the earlier schedule which is why both he and Santiago have no problem moving their scheduled fight.

Looking forward for some historic victories by Donaire and Crawford. Oldest current champion, the oldest bantamweight champion ever for Donaire, and the first-ever 2-division undisputed champion in the 4-belt era for Crawford.

We can say that all of this arrangements are well thought by the organizers and in their eyes, it is already the best cards they could give to the people who will watch the fight. And since that this fight is controlled by PBC and their network, it is understandable why they chose Pitbull's fight to be in the co-main event instead of Donaire vs Santiago.

Quote
And there is a possibility that Bud might take the pound-for-pound king status if he dominates and wins the fight.

There is also a big possibility that Terence Crawford will be the first boxer ever to attain a two undisputed titles in two separate divisions.
198  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Big is the online gambling industry today? on: July 17, 2023, 02:34:54 PM
The covid-19 pandemic period was a real booster to the increment in numbers  of people using the online gambling casinos with the restrictions of movement barring people from attending physical gambling shops the online gambling became an alternative to which after the end of the pandemic the convenience and privacy of online casinos made many of the gamblers to see no need of continually using the physical casino shops.
In addition, there's no limitation in accessing online gambling platform these days. People just need to have handheld and internet. They can access the gambling site whenever they want. The covid's impact is already gone. It's now the time for people to be actively gambling their money. Covid has made many changes in the gambling environtment. Online gambling has become the most popular thing right now. People are showing less interest to do that offline.

The ugly side of online casinos Is how unnoticeable the convenience and comfort of it can lead to addictive tendencies and too much time spending gambling online, at times to the detriment and neglect of other important matters.
The gambling providers have an opposite opinion about that. The addicted gamblers will always give em money. Any party has different perspective.

Thousands of gamblers have indulged in casinos online and in the real world since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic. But when the Covid-19 laws and regulations have to stay at home, the online casinos get crowded. And the hassle of going to a physical gambling shop is reduced and online gambling is most beneficial as it is most convenient to participate in gambling from the comfort of your home. Covid-19 has changed the gambling environment a lot in the present time as more number of gamblers are seen online now. Now in reality gambling is very rare and everyone has basically online systems like mobile phones, laptops etc to participate in.

The online gambling industry will keep growing further and there are the simple reasons which are well obvious to most of us.The reasons being you will not spend time to go to the physical casino, you will not spend fuel to go there if you keep playing online, when playing online you can play from the comfort of your couch without being disturbed by other people around who may be screaming to bad luck, some others may be smoking and some other drinking alcohol adding to an environment which rarely generates big wins.So all these are great benefits to lose just to have a feeling when going to casinos physically, only nostalgic people will continue to go there.

Having to live in a modern world gives another opportunity to this casino owners to take advantage of the technology because aside from having a physical casino, which already gave them a decent figures annually, they are also investing in making an online platform as it's not new anymore that more and more people will choose the online set-up as it is more private and comfortable especially if you're just seeking to spend some time to ease up from a long day's work.

Another thing, as long as there are people who are inclined to gamble and some are doing it for a living, gambling industry will continue to grow as it is also hard to think that this kind of business/industry will cease one day in the future.
199  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Beterbiev Vs Smith AUG 19 2023 SATURDAY IBF / WBC / WBO LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT Title on: July 17, 2023, 02:17:30 PM
I wonder why there are no people talking about this fight these days, I think maybe because Beterbiev is not fighting against some great contender available in their weight division and Smith is just some other boxer that he will gonna beat easily in their upcoming fight. Nevertheless, this is another good warm-up fight for Beterbiev because after this, he might get the best fight he really wanted all these years and we know that he is not gonna be coming for the title, he just wanted to beat everyone out there that are at the top of their weight division.

Maybe, but you have to understand that there are a lot of fight this coming July, so fans are more interested on,

Spence vs Crawford, Inoue vs Fulton, and Donaire vs Santiago.

And what we want to see in this weight division is a unification fight between Beterbiev and Bivol, but not going to happen because of boxing politics as we all know of. And this could be just another get busy fight for Beterbiev, he needs to be active as he is not getting any younger.

Aside from that, avid boxing fans are not that inclined or interested to see this fight that is why it's not gaining any attention from the public since it was announced because no offense to Callum Smith and to his fans, people just don't see him to make any difference and winning because Beterbiev is just on a different league compared to him.

Smith will just be an additional to Beterbiev's record and will be among those boxers who have been defeated by a way of KO/TKO that will cement his legacy further.

And so I did watch some clips of Beterbiev and it's really scary how powerful his punches are because it the clip was from just a cellphone so it's very raw and the one taking it is on the ringside.

You can hear his punches once it landed on his opponent and you can see the opponents face. He just grimaces in pain and just take a knee and maybe hoping that the fight will be over.

I feel you mate, I just found out last year too that there is this three-belt champion called Artur Beterbiev who is secretly dominating in the light-heavyweight division. I cannot deny that boxers in this category are not making enough noise in the division because there are some weight classes in the lower division that are quite packed compared to this division where we only know a handful of boxers.
200  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 17, 2023, 02:00:12 PM
Well, it's good for him though as he can grow more in a team where he is a senior player.
I agree, and for instance, just like how Kyle Kuzma improved when he was traded to Washington Wizards. I reckon that he was just famous way back when he was still wearing the Lakers jersey because of his looks but his performance was not that impressive which led the Lakers to send him off to a different team as the team felt that he was not the right man to fill the position they wanted.
