181  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Wolf of Wall Street, $50K before it crash. on: February 03, 2018, 04:26:05 AM

will we see the price XVG around 2000 sat this month?

Honestly no. it can be next 6 months period.

i agree. can't really tell when exactly but i think that price will really go up now that more people are looking to invest in privacy-centric cryptos and verge is one that's into privacy.
184  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BITCOIN value is decreasing, ANY chance of rise in other Currency? on: February 01, 2018, 05:20:17 AM
ethereum's bitcoin price has been consistently moving up. so i suppose it's good to speculate on eth nowadays... bitcoin is still on a downtrend probably due to the market's reaction to tether. as per bitcoin trend, maybe we'll see bitcoin price move up sometime april, may, june?
185  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does Social Media Influence bitcoin growth? on: February 01, 2018, 04:51:53 AM
social media helps create and spread awareness about bitcoin and the cryptospace.

if someone's interest is piqued by cryptocurrency information trending in social media, then that'll influence that person to learn more about the cryptocurrency ecosystem. if they're convinced that the technology is good and are driven to invest in the crypto, then they add to those who want a fraction or more of bitcoin, hence growth.

Very funny!

188  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: MERIT POINTS on: January 30, 2018, 03:17:52 PM

just enjoy while learning. meron at merong magbigay ng merits one of these days. cheers and welcome to bitcointalk  Smiley
189  Local / Pilipinas / Re: A proposal for Philippines to have its own Cryptocurrency on: January 30, 2018, 03:03:39 PM

Kimi S. Cojuangco authored House Bill 4914 or the “E-Peso Act of 2014”.

Quote
Cojuangco said the E-peso would be a legal tender and legal payment for debt, taxes, goods, and services transacted through the Internet.

Under the bill, the E-peso will be recognized as the electronic legal tender and will be available in all banks branches operating the country.

Cojuangco said the amount on circulation of the E-peso would be limited to P1 billion in the initial two years.

The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) shall explore and study the technology of “bitcoin and post bitcoin cryptocurrencies” to expand the knowledge base, which it will use in deciding what technology to use in E-peso, the bill said.

The BSP will also choose a system that uses peer-to-peer processing of the log chain and shall exert its utmost to leverage existing hardware being used by the other leading cryptocurrencies such as bitcoin, according to the bill.

The proposed legislation mandates BSP to require all bank branches to dedicate at least one computer with adequate technical specification to serve as a local peer.

wala na tayong nabalitaan after ma-announce ito nung 2014, so kahit maraming magaling na cryptographers sa pilipinas, may mga tao siguro sa gobyerno na either hindi interesado or interesado sa teknolohiya ng blockchain pero hindi pa malaman kung paanong mapapatupad ito sa bansa natin and at the same time, magbenefit sila.....
190  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Legalizing Bitcoin on: January 30, 2018, 02:30:30 PM
most nations have not yet declared bitcoin illegal. what they have done is just issue warnings regarding bitcoin price swings and that investing in bitcoin could result in diminished funds. so, as for fearing bitcoin legality in countries that hold an open mind about bitcoin, there's still nothing to worry about.

we're probably just affected by the news of countries that have declared it illegal. it has been declared illegal in algeria, bolivia, ecuador, kyrgyzstan, bangladesh, nepal, and just recently, indonesia.

algeria has prohibited bitcoin use (purchase, sale, and holding) as per their new finance law (2018). i have no idea regarding what is stipulated there which will probably shed light as to why they are prohibitting bitcoin use but i suppose that it has something to do with the financial crisis they are experiencing....

bolivia's central bank issued a resolution banning bitcoin and other unregulated currencies.

ecuador issued a ban on decentralized digital currencies becuase they have "a state-run electronic money system" which is tied to their own fiat. whether the electronic currency is operational is beyond me.

krygyzstan's national bank declared in 2014 that use of virtual currencies "will be in violation of the law of the state". the why is undisclosed.

bangladesh's bank warned that "anybody caught using virtual currencies could be jailed under the country's strict anti-money laundering laws".

nepal also declared bitcoin illegal.

indonesia issued a regulation prohibiting fintech and e-commerce systems/providers from accepting bitcoin in their transactions. according to indonesia's finance agency, the rupiah, indonesia's national currency, is the only authorized currency allowed for transactions. the ban emanates from bitcoin's volatility, speculative and unregulated nature.

countries that declared it illegal was primarily due to bitcoin's volatilty, decentralized nature, and the stereotype attached to its use -- a tool for money laundering. and so, for nations that previously proclaimed it illegal, perhaps it'll take some time for them to affirm its legality -- when they've come up with the means to regulate it.

191  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Governments let Bitcoins and Crypto World survive? on: January 30, 2018, 08:27:46 AM
"let" is a big word specially when you are talking about a decentralized network. it is like asking will they "let" the torrent network, the Tor network, .... and other peer to peer networks survive!

First of all, torrent is not used to make transactions or circulate values.
You must not forget the situations with kat.cr (kat.ph).

Quote
you see, when it comes to decentralization, nobody has a say in what the peers on that network should or shouldn't do. of course fighting crimes and illegal activities is a must, and by preventing things like bitcoin you don't fight crimes you just made yourself look like a fool.

Nothing's decentralized anymore as everything is coming under regulations or straight bans. If you will use, why are you into Bitcoins? Ask yourself.
You are buying or selling it just because you are interested in exchanging values and making profits (growing your capital). But, once you convert your Bitcoins to fiat, you convert your decentralized world to centralized, don't you?

hmmmm.... this had me thinking. since the internet can't be shut down as that would result in pandemonium, then in the event that they decide to declare a ban, could they do what they did to torrent sites on crypto? the government was able to pull the plug on torrent sites like tpb or kat.cr but would the same be possible with digital assets? i'm still positive that whether the government likes it or not, digital assets will still survive and thrive. i think that it's not something that the government can control...
192  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Governments let Bitcoins and Crypto World survive? on: January 29, 2018, 05:57:26 AM
i think that they will. i think they're benefiting from it but are just discreet about their use of it. i'm not saying that they're evil, but they're not saints either and if there's a way to get away with a few thousand dollars without having their name tied to a transaction, then crypto is the way to go.
193  Local / Altcoins (Pilipinas) / Re: Do we want our own coin? on: January 29, 2018, 05:20:51 AM

The coin, if ever, would at the start of course be centralized, in this case I'll be in the center, so eh, ganun talaga eh. Eventually it will have its own life, maybe a separate foundation or entity where I'm still around but have no powers if people kick me out, and maybe it's own governance model. I don't know. I'll help it jump start, but then the community will take over.

While I am not against MLM, it's not something that's on the agenda, it's not something I would tolerate too. They can use their own system or they can exist in the fiat system the way they do now anyway. The idea of selling shoes and having left or right doesn't make sense to me, but other systems do, but those are off-topic already.

if people in that part of the industry would want to use the coin for their business, i think we won't have any control over that. after all, binili naman nila yung coin. but the dev of the coin, in this case, si siir @Dabs, siguro hindi na nya yan pasukin. sa akin may aversion ako sa mlm type na coin. parang nakadalawang sali ako nyan, parehong naglaho. pwede ko bang banggitin dito para reference or wag na lang kasi off topic siya. anyway, independent si coin jan sa mga gagamit nito sa mlm. if gamitin nila, let them, makakatulong yan para mapalawig ang coin natin.

I say we do need a crypto coin of ours that has a 1:1 ratio to the PHP value. This way we can go cashless and buy other cryptos instantly and securely. The purpose of this 1:1 coin is to completely replace our paper money. Then, this way we can start more crypto related projects. Plus! Heck, we got good accounting and no more effin corruption.

No one can create a coin that is pegged to a fiat value except the government or big corporations, and that's not something we like to force ourselves into. Sure there are bitshares-USD and USDT (tether), but notice that they also don't have the exact dollar or fiat value, it's still fluctuating a bit. The price is controlled, but eventually it will either go out of control, or is heavily centralized anyway, eh di sana yung banko sentral na lang ang gumawa ng coin.

There is a proposal in congress I think. I also think that's not going anywhere. The current administration is focused on law and order, on corruption, on drugs, on other things we shouldn't worry about. The next government will have other problems that we also shouldn't worry about. Until they say something crypto related, we don't mind them.

The bounties or airdrops must be of the coin itself. If people dump them, that's their loss. It should be something that instills value in itself, not deriving it from outside except in the case of PoW mining.

Tokens hosted on other platforms (such as ETH or WAVES or QTUM or ETC) are out of the question, I won't do it then. You are relying on the platform, and anything that affects those networks like cat games or something ...

i agree, we can't follow that ratio kasi dynamic ang market so ang price will never be fixed at a specific rate. the default cryptocurrency pair will always be against btc like if our coin will be named Dabs Coin (example lang) with ticker DBS, ang pair will be DBS/BTC. so yung rate ng DBS is determined by its comparison to BTC. kung mag dump sila, naturally, bababa ang btc value nung DBS coin natin (example lang yung DBS baka isipin nyo yan na ang name!).

Preev Rates ba or based on a specific exchange? Ph or any member na alam talaga yung sagot. Thank You in advance.  By the way Bitcoin is going up again Smiley

As far as i know BDO already issue an statement regarding this bitcoin transaction and they are still accepting Deposit via coin.ph. But the only downfall is their 200 pesos transaction fees

196  Other / Meta / Re: Merits could be a character molding. on: January 27, 2018, 04:57:01 PM
didn't know about the existence of a merit system until now.

i agree that it could help bring about quality posts, but that wouldn't guarantee that we will indeed be having quality posts.

there could be groups in this forum that can just give merits to certain users they're acquainted with -- and whose posts don't even bear much weight on a particular topic.

it would be too tedious for mods to give the merits, so still, there's no guarantee that anyone ranking up due to merits received did post something that we can actually learn from.

send them your credit card billing statement. mabilis. approved agad level 3 status mo.
198  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Coins.ph Official Thread on: January 21, 2018, 09:08:15 AM

199  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Coins.ph Official Thread on: January 21, 2018, 08:16:18 AM

@care2yak

continuation of example: ....

wala akong documents...gusto nila ng birth certificate? barangay clearance? o baka certificate of indigence? makakakuha ako niyan hehe , may dalawa akong ID, drivers license pero wala akong auto, tapos passport na wala naman pinuntahan.

case to case yan. happy for you na di ka na-question. based on previous experience lang ako at depende din yan sa nakaupong bank manager. so you're fortunate. pero hindi lahat ng nandito matutulad sa experience mo or sa experience ko  Smiley pwede din naman matulad sila sa iyo or sa akin, di ba? tips lang naman ang provide natin dito para makapag-prepare ang iba na hindi pa nakaka-experience ng 400k withdrawal pero magwiwithdraw na ng 400k soon.

the thing is, for those who intend to withdraw hundreds of thousands of pesos at tinawag ng banko ang attention nyo, you have to prove to the bank that the money you're withdrawing is indeed yours - kahit na account name mo pa yan at account number. you need to provide documents (kung hingiin nila - kung hindi naman, e di cheers di ba). saan galing ang pera? prepare nyo na sagot nyo jan. kung pinadala yan, or what. para saan ang pera? bakit ka pinadalhan ng ganyan kalaki? single transaction kasi yan eh. sabi nga, para makapagpatayo ng bahay. provide ka ulit ng document para jan if ever.
