Does anyone know whether you can run solidity on byteball? or is there a mention of how the smart contracts work on Byteball?

You can't run solidity nor any code on Byteball. Contracts are only a boolean definition that average people can read and check.

Is there any use case of blackbytes
like where can i sell this blackbytes, unable to find any market of it

http://www.beeb-bot.com/

If you know you have blackbytes, then you have a wallet.  Trading can done directly within the wallet.  Not sure where you were looking, but you should first look around in the wallet itself at the features it has.

About this, is there any particular reason why GBB is not on any exchange? I know this has been asked a gazillion times already but I still wonder, what is it about GBB's anonymity tech that makes it not a good fit for exchanges compared to other anonymous crypto? XMR, for example, is also anonymous but tradeable on Bittrex.

You need to be in chat with someone to transfer him Blackbytes, that's how the payment informations stay private. An exchange would have to dev something specific for blackbytes, that's why this market has been taken first by several Byteball bots.

can someone tell me if this is something or just good old phishing? i'm guessing it's the latter. i dunno how slack works but i ain't too impressed someone emailed me through it.

100% fishing, I got the same.
The link is a malware not a Byteball release.

Is there some way to check how many bytes have been distributed through cashback program?

Look at transactions from this address: https://explorer.byteball.org/#TU3Q44S6H2WXTGQO6BZAGWFKKJCF7Q3W
They are all from cashback program.

I dont understand. My balance is still 0 test byteballs. Is something wrong with my wallet? Is there any third way to get some test byteballs? I added one more wallet so my the addresses is
NHH2G675VLQEPVEUK7S5KXSNTZ4HYWOX
TEEZS66RGFVTNAJCACQ23DEYCL3A6GJI

Can somebody provide clear explanation how to obtain test byteballs?

Hey you received real bytes on NHH2G675VLQEPVEUK7S5KXSNTZ4HYWOX : https://explorer.byteball.org/#NHH2G675VLQEPVEUK7S5KXSNTZ4HYWOX
Forget testnet, it's for dev.

If a lot of people would use Byteball to chat, wouldn't that give a huge load on the hubs? That would make running hubs expensive, while it doesn't earn anything from relaying chat messages.

It would be an issue for messages with pictures or video but that's not the case, chat with text only is a negligible traffic.

How do u think when, dev add wallet to appstore for ios?

It's Apple that refuses as far as I know, they don't like crypto apps.
188  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: September 12, 2017, 09:32:45 AM
A tool or option should be added/genreated on app which should allow users to get a back-up of the black bytes. Because current system is not preventing coins from disappearing. Saving all directory shouldn´t be the only way to get a back-up.

Just use a multi devices wallet (it's very easy with Byteball), then private informations about blackbytes will be replicated on all your devices. In case you lose one device, the other ones serve as backup.

We also need a detailed explanation of why we can trust blackbytes cannot be duplicated.
The fact that they are not on a ledger and therefore transparent makes it suspicious to many and it is a very sensible question that needs to be answered in a FAQ

Can anyone provide it?

The genesis unit of blackbytes is public: https://explorer.byteball.org/#qO2JsiuDMh/j+pqJYZw3u82O71WjCDf0vTNvsnntr8o=
Every blackbyte comes from there, there can't be more than defined. Double-spend or duplicatio is avoided with a spend proof, I invite you to read the chapter 25 of the whitepaper to learn more about it.
By the way you can see blackbytes have different denominations from 1 to 100000 blackbytes, like they were bank notes.

2. In terms of privacy and anonymity: What are the advantages of blackbytes against for example Monero? Why shouldn't I just use Monero if my biggest concern is privacy (and not for instance transaction time or fees)?

I can't clearly compare with Monero since I don't know it very well but I can explain a bit how blackbytes work.
You can see blackbytes as bank notes which have their transactions history writted on them. You can see this transaction history only if you own them, there is no public ledger. That's mean that if you receive a payment in Blackbytes, your payer can't know what you will do next with the blackbytes he sent to you. He could know that only if the same blackbytes return in their hands which will become very unlikely if Byteball network becomes bigger. You can still protect yourself against this possibility by using a wallet dedicated to privacy, at start you just need to get some bytes anonymously to fund the Blackbytes transaction. If someone would discover the history of a blackbyte you used, it couldn't link it to anything since he can't see your other transactions made with blackbytes.
In overall there is no way for anybody to get a picture of what's going on with blackbytes, all the transactions are kept private by every blackbyte user. If you want to try to find a flaw, you simply can't, cause you can't get the data.
The novel system blackbytes use is an excellent compromise between privacy, transaction time and fees.
If I would need ultra-privacy, I would simply hide behind a monero and a blackbyte transaction to get the best of two.

Was hoping someone could help me figure out how to send Bytes from my light wallet account to my Bittrex Account.  I've send a few tests of 1GBYTE to Bittrex, my light wallet shows it in my history but days have gone by and nothing has happened.  I still have my original balance on the wallet so haven't lost any bytes, but really want to get some into my trading account, any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Are you sure you sent 1 GB and not only 1 byte ?

Yes many used this exchange bot without troubles.

Hi!
I have a question about distribution. If I have bytes in multiple wallets, do I have link all of them to participate drop or are they automatically in?
I know there's no way to distribute blackbytes in automaticly since they are untraceable, so they have to be in linked address to be able to get drops. But is there a way to link multible byteball addresses with transition bot?

Thank you in advance!

You can link as many byteball addresses as you want.

Would be great that Blackbytes Bots could report it's price and volume to coimarketcap like sites or blockfolio like apps

One bot already reports on a website: http://freebe.byte-ball.com/
It should be easy to add a small API to be used by external apps.
195  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Blackbytes on: September 09, 2017, 07:04:27 AM
Okay that sounds really cool. So how come they are not traded on exchanges then; how does one assess the value of these bytes then? And I know there is a blackbyte bot now

but does that mean it is a set rate built in ? Or do you have to wait for a buyer to come accept your price? I barely understood bytes, now you guys dropping blackbytes on me Cheesy

There are 2 blackbytes exchanges in the bot store.

Can somebody explain to me the current distribution situation?

This was my first Byteball airdrop ever. I linked all of my BTC, it's 5 figures (in dollars) worth of BTC that I linked. I was excited to receive a nice amount for that. But what do I get? Not even $50 bucks worth of Byteball. Are you kidding me? This is it?

What the hell happened? I was expecting much more than that. At what are are further byteballs being distributed then? it will take forever if such small amounts get spread around. Aren't people that get in earlier supposed to benefit more?

I did read that they changed the model for this term and from now on the people that hold Byteball will get much more than the people that link their BTC accounts. Well, doesn't that make the people that linked their BTC already (and got a lot of GBYTE on the past distribution periods) increasingly rich? they are going to get so much GBYTE because they are already holding a ton. Like I said im ok with earlier people getting a bigger reward but it seems unbalanced, right now we are still early and we got so little with this term that it was a bit depressing to see not even 50 bucks worth of GBYTE after I spent an entire day linking all of my BTC addresses worth a lot more..

Sorry that you come late. Distribution to BTC holders has been reduced since too much went for the free money and only dumped their bytes. Now distribution is toward new potential users through the cashback program.

Yesterday I want to add one more Bitcoin address to my byteball address, but my transiction bot don't want to responce to me. Is it bug or bot don't work before airdrop?
P.s. previously I upgrade my wallet to the last update.

I heard the transition bot was down yesterday.

Hello... I am rather new to this delightful coin.

Two questions...

To receive the 0.1 new byte for each 1 byte you already hold... does my wallet need to be linked?

I only hold .28 BTC doesn't seem worth sending the transaction to receive the blackbytes. Am i wrong?

Kind regards
-K

Better link the BTC address otherwise you won't get the blackbytes you deserve for the bytes you own. You don't need to send a transaction, you can just sign a message.

When I make a conditional payment - is there a way to share or make public it's conditions?

For example I need to share with somebody or prove that we agreed in p2p betting - out bets, amount and for what we are betting. DAG explorer will only show transaction if it occurs but not conditions. Wallet screenshot with payment conditions if not enough.

There could be a way to do that.
After receiving a payment request to a smart-address, you can right-click on your wallet, select 'inspect' and go to console tab. From there you can copy the definition of the smart-address in a raw format like:
Quote
"definitions":{"COV65DTFUWRQKC6JRNTGKZRGIWMDVYIM":{"definition":["or",[["and",[["address","AK2ERJ3A6YPMLGUZA6CC667AKQ7RSC77"],["in data feed",[["I2ADHGP4HL6J37NQAD73J7E5SKFIXJOT"],"timestamp",">",1504423059748]]]],
["and",[["address","ZQ4BAFZEECE6XP2GNTISXCGEHOJVFMLJ"],["in data feed",[["I2ADHGP4HL6J37NQAD73J7E5SKFIXJOT"],"timestamp",">",1504423059748]],["not",["in data feed",[["AK2ERJ3A6YPMLGUZA6CC667AKQ7RSC77"],"blackbytes","=",10000000000]]]]]]]}}
Since the smart-address is a checksumed hash of this definition, others could check what contract you funded by recalculating it.
