1801  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: The Lightning Network FAQ on: June 07, 2019, 05:16:37 PM
As LoyceV suggested, I am closing this thread. I will create a self-moderated thread due to growing number of off-topic posts in this FAQ. Feel free to create separate threads if you want to argue.
1802  Other / Meta / Lightning Network board on: June 05, 2019, 08:46:41 PM
Lightning Network's popularity has been growing for some time now. More and more threads will be created about it due to growing interest in new scaling solutions. My suggestion is to create a separate board dedicated to the Lightning Network. This will make finding information on it easier for some people.

Recent/Popular threads about the Lightning Network

The Lightning Network FAQ

I am willing to help with keeping this board clean and active.

wie moze ktos skad Hhampuz i DarkStar_ pochodza - chodzi mi z jakiego kraju sa obydwoje

DarkStar pochodzi z Kanady.
1804  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: did I lose these Bitcoin SV tokens? on: May 31, 2019, 11:11:39 AM
Each of the Bitcoin SV transactions is dated a few minutes after the corresponding Bitcoin Cash ABC transaction.

This proves that your transaction has been replayed without your knowledge.

Would it have to be changelly or could it be anyone? Does it make any sense to contact changelly?

Have you tried googling the address which now has your BSV coins? You can try to contact them but I doubt that they will help you.
1805  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: did I lose these Bitcoin SV tokens? on: May 31, 2019, 10:28:30 AM
I'm not even sure if BitcoinSV ever implemented replay protection...
What a shitcoin.
I thought he may have leaked the privatekeys, but this replayed is also probable

They don't even want to implement replay protection. Bitcoin Cash has a higher hash rate so why would its developers care about it?
1806  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: did I lose these Bitcoin SV tokens? on: May 31, 2019, 09:53:37 AM
Did I permanently lose those 30 Bitcoin SV tokens or is there something I can do?

There is nothing you can do. Neither Bitcoin SV nor Bitcoin ABC has a replay protection. It looks like your transaction has been replayed. Can you check when you sent 30 BCH and then when your 30 BSV disappeared?
1807  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: The Lightning Network FAQ on: May 31, 2019, 09:36:15 AM
What dose that means to the node?

Nothing. Zombie nodes issue was fixed a long time ago. Your node is fully operational if it is connected to the Internet and up-to-date with the Bitcoin blockchain. You don't have to change anything in your node's settings. Zombie node referred to a node which was offline and still had been considered capable of routing payments.

What happens if I'm offline will the sender even be able to send?  Since it has to be online all the time can I run a full node on my phone which is pretty much on all the time?

The payment will fail after some time if not immediately. Running a node on your phone would quickly drain your battery.
1808  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockhain.info wallet i cant send 21 Bitcoins of my total storage!! on: May 28, 2019, 09:05:49 PM
and i still can access to my blockchain wallet then?

Yes, you still will be able to access your funds on the Blockchain.info wallet. You can also import your seed in Electrum again if you need it in the future.
1809  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Does Decaying sMerits will be healthy for the forum? on: May 28, 2019, 11:23:05 AM
The sMerit system can be exploited if someone post exceptional posts for a few months and accumulate a lot of sMerits and then after achieving that goal, he or she starts to post non-constructive posts again. If the sMerit decays over time, people will have to continue posting quality content to retain their high sMerit scores.  Tongue

sMerit (sendable merit) is not the same merit which determines your rank. Decaying merit would be a huge change which would also impact the flow of sMerit. Why would decaying sMerit encourage a sMerit hoarder to post more quality content if that sMerit disappeared after certain period of time? They don't spend it anyway.
1810  Local / Polski / Re: Ranking zaufania Trust - jak działa? Czym jest DT i jak nim zostać. on: May 28, 2019, 09:51:03 AM
Nie wiem tylko jak interpretować to:
move score to range [-9999,9999]

1811  Local / Polski / Re: Polish Hyde Park on: May 27, 2019, 09:04:03 AM

1812  Local / Polski / Re: Polish Hyde Park on: May 26, 2019, 11:35:27 PM

1813  Economy / Reputation / Re: [need DT] using multiple account, trading merit, self-talking, account hacking on: May 26, 2019, 08:24:12 PM
might be worth looking into these as well, seems to be a lot of merit passed amongst these accounts in particular (in addition to the two mentioned in op).

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1697068
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=830898

ill try and look through a bit later when i have time.

There aren't many posters on our local board so merit is often sent between same members. However, as a merit source, I don't agree with how some posts were awarded - that's highly subjective. I haven't read the whole thread yet.
1814  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Ledger Nano X - new mobile focused hardware wallet on: May 25, 2019, 11:32:30 PM
Coinbase has there "vault" cold storage service they offer, with multiple signatures required to move funds

Wasn't Ledger supposed to implement something similar in a software update? I might have confused it with Trezor.

I've never used Coinbase myself, but last I read about them they were offering users the ability to back up their private keys to Google or Apple's cloud storage. I don't understand how anyone who has been involved in crypto for more than a week would want to use that and not understand how awful an idea it is.

"Convenience" and low-cost are the reasons why people decide to use services like Coinbase and their weird features. Not to mention that some people buy crypto without educating themselves properly or after being misinformed by other people.
1815  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Force closed channel balance in limbo (Lightning Network) on: May 24, 2019, 01:55:34 PM
I'm going to piggy back on this one. I have the same issue but the blocks have passed maturity. Anyone know why the channel would still be stuck force closing? Thanks!

What version of LND are you running? You can check that by running lncli -version. A similar issue was fixed about a year ago in one of the LND updates.
1816  Local / Polski / Re: Polish Hyde Park on: May 23, 2019, 04:21:05 PM

1817  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] ChipMixer.com - Bitcoin mixer / Bitcoin tumbler - mixing reinvented on: May 23, 2019, 03:15:24 PM
Are there anonymous Bitcoin ATMs? IIRC pretty much all ATM providers both in the Americas and in Europe follow KYC procedures of some sort.

There is no KYC when using Bitcoin ATMs in Poland. An ATM knows only the receiving and the desination address, and the amount of coins obviously. Surprisingly, online services are forced to do KYC if a certain threshold is reached.
1818  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: electrum wallet recovery with 12 words on: May 22, 2019, 10:19:52 PM
-snip

Have you tried selecting Options below the seed input box and checking BIP39 there? It shouldn't be required since you generated your wallet using Electrum but it's worth trying out. Alternatively, you can temporary downgrade Electrum if that doesn't work (previous releases).

1820  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] ChipMixer.com - Bitcoin mixer / Bitcoin tumbler - mixing reinvented on: May 22, 2019, 07:20:01 PM
This is disapointing of europol and the Netherlands. They clearly don't understand the significance of these sites and how mixers work in a way cash does.

They pointed out in the report that there are people who use mixing services only to increase their anonymity, but since many transactions originate from darknet, this kind of services should be taken down. I wonder why they still haven't done anything to Bitcoin ATMs.
