You can see the video here

I beat the site and take their money

follow me for more big wins like this
~

Well, that is a bold statement. Smiley You won, and I congratulate you, but "took their money", no. Stake is a big site, and it can afford a couple of thousands of such losses easily. And is it your goal, to take someone's money? Because it sounds like it is. Or maybe you are just talking in style of that Gangsta rap? Idk, I used to like, but am not a big fan right now.

Congrats, though. Win more in the future!

It's actually my first time when betting on Oscars brings me some profit. Smiley
Congrats bro! 3 victories on 3 bets! That's a very nice result! You seem to be a very good bettor for this kind of event.

Thanks for the congratulations, mate! I'm actually not a very good bettor for this kind of event, because, as I said, it's my first time when betting on Oscars brings me some profit. I do watch all the nominated films I can, but I mostly fail in my predictions. Like that guy you mentioned that bet huge money on Babylon to win the Best Original Score Oscar. He kinda had a point, that guy, btw. The music in Babylon was amazing. I just thought it's the same music as in La La Land, and since Justin Hurwitz has already won two Academy Awards, Best Original Score and Best Original Song, for this music, they won't give him a third one. 1803  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: My $300 bet won $417,000 on: March 18, 2023, 12:04:33 PM
~ No, no. That is not the case, guys. People keep saying it like it is a universal truth, but it is not, and it can't be, if you think of it. The house always wins in the long run only if millions of people play on the platform, and, this is important, the house beats them all combined. There's absolutely no guarantee that the house will beat you or anyone else in particular. Even in the long run.

In online casinos with provably fair numbers you are going to lose if you play long enough and have no variance in your bet sizes. Of course you can always win big one time, then reduce your bet sizes and stay in the green for the rest of your life. Other than that you are going to lose as soon as you play a game that has a 50% +X chance for the player to lose where X is the house's edge and is >0. It is just a question of time then.

That's right, it is just a question of time. But what "time" we are talking about. If it's 2,000 years, honestly, I'd be OK with that. Smiley And it can be something like 2,000 years.

You could easily say that big lotteries are proof that people can win. Of course they can, but is it realistic to recommend someone to play lotteries the entire life because there are people who actually win?
~

Yep, I think it is. If you buy one-two lottery tickets per week, it is probably the safest way of gambling. Of course, winning the Jackpot is not guaranteed even within your entire life, and even within your 20 lives, I would add, but it's fun having always that hope, and it's safe if you not trying buy more ticket for "increasing your chances of winning".
1804  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [POLL] Using AI to predict outcomes on: March 18, 2023, 11:31:32 AM
~snip~
You shouldn't rely on AI completely, that's for sure, but it is still not known whether using our knowledge is better than AI's recommendations. If we knew everything and were always right, then asking AI about something would be pointless, I agree. But the thing is that we know from our own experience that we are often wrong in making decisions. Too often to rely only on our knowledge or on our feeling what to do. We need a support, and AI can provide us with that support.

There is a limit to what our brains can calculate intuitively though.

For example, you don't need to calculate the math for throwing a rock and hitting something. You can do this without "thinking" because our brains evolved in that direction. It's just native to us, we just "know" how fast and in which direction to throw the rock. No need for physics equations.

But, for many other things we're actually quite bad at this. For example statistics. We have a very poor native feeling for statistics. In those cases we need math because our intuition is often wrong. See Monty Hall paradox as an example.

With ChatGPT and other AI systems we will be able to tap into maths in a more natural way.

Great observation. I absolutely agree regarding throwing a rock at something that we are wired to "know" how to do it rightly. But betting on the outcomes is only around for several thousands of years. It's very little for us to be born with that knowledge. I'm pretty sure that AI can be a good helper here.

well, finally gamblers who always bet with their emotions will lose all their money and valuables. After frustration and stress, he will blame the casino or accuse as if the casino cheated him, even though it was his own fault, too chasing defeat.

I agree that it is very likely that at some point such gamblers will lose everything, but let's not forget that it is not guaranteed. First off, what time period we are talking about? If it's a several hours long one gambling session, I definitely want to object. But if its months of continuous gambling, I mean, 10-12 hours per day, then, yes, it is almost guaranteed that you will lose all your money, even if no one is scamming you or something.

The thing is that it's not them casinos want you to go through the procedure. Why would they want it, in the first place? They just want more players on their platform, and of course, such things as KYC, don't help in that regard. It's the government requires from them implementing KYC, and they just have no choice but abide to the law.

You are right on that point dude, and we also know that the only ones that implement KYC are the platform casinos that are centralized based, the dex casinos do not require KYC as far as I know.

Then it's still up to us gamblers if we submit to the rules that crypto gambling has in this industry because no one is forcing us to gamble in any casino here.

Exactly. There can be sites that don't require not only KYC, but even a basic registration, and they can still be good and honest sites, but the probability of that isn't that great. Still, it doesn't mean that all of such sites are scammers. Indeed, it;s up to us to decide whether to risk with playing on such sites or not. The key is to never risk much anyway.
1807  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 Oscar Awards betting and discussions on: March 18, 2023, 08:47:02 AM
I generally don't agree with Academy when it comes to Best Picture winners (looking back at the last ~15 years, the only time I actually agreed with them was Nomadland), this is the first time I disliked the winner so much I couldn't even finish it and probably won't even give it a 2nd chance. Kudos to Everything Everywhere All at Once though, not an easy feat to win 7 Oscars, especially not for movie with smaller production.

Biggest surprise for me was that The Banshees of Inisherin didn't win a single Oscar. While I knew that Colin Farrell beating Brendan Fraser is unlikely (even though i preferrede Colin's performance), I still hoped for at least for Best Original Screenplay but I guess since movie didn't have any woke bs, chances to win anything were slim to none.

Needless to say I failed miserably at betting because I went for those who I though should win, not for those who I thought would probably win. Cheesy

And for me it was the first time I won something from my betting on Oscars. When I saw Everything Everywhere All at Once last Summer I said: "This film is going to get Oscar for the Best Picture." Then, little by little, I watched all the future nominees, and I thought most of them were great pictures ... But yeah, I know, what the word "great" even means in regards to art? I totally agree with ChatGPT saying that it "is a subjective matter of personal taste and opinion."

I for one, watched some of this year's nominees several times, but watching Avatar: The Way of Water and The Fabelmans was torture to me, and I couldn't even watch them halfway through. ... Yes, we are so different. But let's not start killing each other because of that. Smiley

And I agree with you regarding "Nomadland" btw. I mean, it wasn't the only time I agreed with with the Academy, but the movie is a masterpiece imo.

Academy Awards ceremony is in 16 hours. Make your last bets, guys. Not a financial advice, but I just want to show which odds I personally find attractive.

I mean, these odds are better than on other sites I saw, and I think, all three are the winners.

Lately I've seen Yeoh gaining the traction, seeing that she's come a long way.

Would be surprising if she wins the title, being the second person of color to do so.

It is time to put bets on all three with differences in the number of bets. I don't know this is first time where I am betting on nominee ceremony and have very poor knowledge of the whole thing. I guess I will just adjust two bets here, putting more money on "Everything Everywhere All at once" and then followed by the Jamie lee character. Sounds fair if won any of them. Sometimes it's all about saving your losses than just wining big in return.
~

I'm happy to say that it turned out I was right about all three. Smiley

I myself didn't bet on the Best Picture because although the odds on freebitco.in, 1.20, were better than on other sites, it is still too low odds for me to bet.

Overall I'm satisfied with my betting on Oscars this year.

It's actually my first time when betting on Oscars brings me some profit. Smiley

One thing that is certain is that the "house always wins," no matter how we tried or make the best in a reverse manner, the house will win. One thing that people don't know is that the program has been done in their favour and no matter the tactics anyone could come up with to defeat the house would certainly be blocked. The professionals working things for the house are expert in the field, so no one will gain more than the house want them to gain even if they bet on the opposite.

Also, I agree, no responsible person will want to take gambling as a do-or-die means to make money, they should surely look for an honourable way of earning for a better living.

Just won another 2 mbtc in free bets. Let's see how it goes boys! Wish me luck!  Cool

Source: Sportsbet.io

Thanks again for the regular raffles and free bets @sportsbet.io and @jeremypwr. Really appreciated!

Good luck to you, bullrun2020bro!

I like it that you make high odds bets with your free bets of 1mBTC. Now I think I should learn from you,  because betting with below 2.00 odds in the hopes of better chance of winning doesn't work for me. I just looked through my bets, and realized that I win more often with higher odds

and lose with lower ones

Usually, when I bet with small amounts, my favourite odds are those in between 100.00 and 300.00. And sometimes I like to bet with some crazy odds like these

But when it comes to free bets, I'm kinda afraid of losing such a big amount ... Well, no more free bets with below 2.00 odds. That is my final decision. Smiley

~ Generalizing the factors then I can say that the chance is still the same, as we will evaluate those data and this information that AI will provide, though AI got the advantages in terms of analysing much wide information against human intellectual capabilities, but in terms of decision making, it's still best to sort all the information and decide according to how you understand the game.

There are differences, but in the final decision making, it's still trustable to use your own knowledge instead of leaning from AI recommendations.

You shouldn't rely on AI completely, that's for sure, but it is still not known whether using our knowledge is better than AI's recommendations. 1816  Economy / Gambling / Re: they are scamming us? on: March 14, 2023, 10:25:23 AM
Anyway, let's assume that they really are scamming you guys then I think you should create a scam accusation to make them known here in Bitcointalk and people will know about their scheme of scamming people off of their money and we can avoid it right away unlike not knowing that they are scammers. You can help that way by creating scam accusation thread and to avoid having more victims. It is important to know if it's a legitimate casino or not and through SAT (scam acu thread) make people aware of it.

The thing is that in the video posted in the OP a guy "from the industry" is talking about another kind of "scam". It is more like "the Earth is flat, but they all tell you otherwise", that kind of "scam". It's about online casinos watching your every step, like they analyse your bets, your preferences ... and all that conspiracy theory stuff. It certainly attracts the attention of the general public, but it's a lie.
1817  Economy / Gambling / Re: STARTING OWN CRYPTO GAMBLING SITE on: March 14, 2023, 09:06:49 AM

True. Word of mouth spreads quickly when it comes to better services. There're lots of gambling sites already and all of them  offers the same, it only depends on what bonuses they give and some perks alongside different marketing strategy, but most them have a common problem which is customer support. I have been watching the sidelines on those gambling sites and sometimes do gambling or bet whenever I feel betting, and most common things I encounter is because of lack of customer service.

That's why I think that investing in customer service is more important than investing in advertising, and maybe even more important than investing in some sophisticated site design. Make it simple, but without bugs and properly working, and gamblers will be drawn to your site by things that are more important to them: a good customer service, fast withdrawals and stuff.
1818  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2023-02-24] Secret cryptomine discovered in routine inspection of school on: March 14, 2023, 07:45:15 AM
I think it's a dangerous thing to have this policy and keep stealing thinking that you never steal from normal people, but only from corporations and governments. Firstly, someone normal can be fined or even fired because it was his/her responsibility to prevent such stealing. Apart from that, stealing from the governemt is usually punished severely and I wouldn't advise anyone to risk their freedom for the sake of getting some cash.

if the government already steals from citizens, and corporations are cheating both the spirit and the letter of the law, then is it not the case that anyone taking property from governments or corporations is in fact reclaiming property that was taken from others unfairly in the first instance?

and isn't it one's own responsibility as an employee to understand the ethics of their employer? if your employer is a thief, it would seem strange to expect fair treatment from them in almost any circumstances.

aren't we all using cryptocurrency because government currency together with their tax system steals from regular people and gives the money to their rich friends? you seem to be advocating to behave "fairly" to an organizations which are behaving aggressively and unjustly towards you and everyone else

You are talking like a pirate, man. Smiley Of course, sure, I used to think like that for quite some time when I was younger. But then changed my mind. After my friend died prison when he was only 28 years old, I changed my mind. And, yeah, that's what he was doing, "reclaiming property that was taken from others". But it was still just property. Yet he paid with his life for that.

We, my wife and I, decided to make a traditional Ukrainian cabbage pie.

Here's the process:

First, you have to braise cabbage with prunes for 2 hours

adding bay leaves, black pepper, salt and a bit of oil. It will be the filling of the pie.

Then, out of dough made from flour, butter, sour cream and a bit of salt and sugar, you make this thing(my wife made it, I made the braised cabbage) and put the filling in.

Grease with egg yolk, and then cook in the oven for 40 minutes.
Take this beautiful creature out

A traditional Ukrainian cabbage pie is ready.

But if you are participating in the 🥧 1st edition - Bitcointalk Pie Baking Contest 🥧, make a Bitcoin symbol out of black sesame seeds, and put the pie back in the oven for a bit more.

Voilà! Here it is, our submission to the contest

Then we went to visit our friends and took the pie with us.

All four of us were satisfied with the taste. Smiley

So, it's not about transparency. It's only about more fun.
To be honest I'm a person who doesn't look at the RTP when playing, so I prefer to play where I want to play at the time. The RTP feature is good, because it will be an option and you will see the opportunities in which game has a bigger chance. But for some reason when I play with a high RTP I actually lose, it's different if I don't see the RTP at all. That's what made me choose to only play the games I wanted to play, regardless of the RTP.

As I said, it's only about fun. Smiley You don't have some better "transparency" on slots with live RTP, nor do you have significantly better chances to win on slots with RTP 97% than on slots with 95% RTP. The numbers say it themselves: you have slightly better chances to lose less in the long run. So, if you choose to not pay attention to the RTP, you are not losing much.
