1041  Economy / Gambling / Re: Roobet.com | Crypto’s Fastest Growing Casino 🦘 on: August 19, 2023, 11:56:21 AM
~

Ah yeah I am also little disconnected with the art contest due to incapability of representing everything on sharpen pencil. Since I am not expert in digital arts and other type of crafts there is no way I can win any of the contest. The imagination just doesn’t fit the idea of what Roobet Theme is. I am only proud about one thing that I won in the initial days and also sent one of the artwork to the Roobet team. I hope they are missing me whenever they look at the artwork kept in their office on the desk. Lolz.

But I am always following the art contest. It’s really amazing and definitely plus one for the consistency of this promotion. It should never die. There is no end to the art and artists. Keep it up guys.

I don't know if I'll be able to participate this time, but I will definitely look at all artworks presented and will merit some that I like the most. It's amazing that thanks to the merit system on bitcointalk, we, regular users, can be kinda judges too. Smiley Although I've never won money, I remember seeing my artwork merited by someone made my day brighter for sure.

~
Wow it's good to hear mate and indeed in the earlier stage of roobet art competitions i have been seeing your name but as time goes by, your participation fade and yeah stopped joining, so having this from yours, it is interesting what you will bring this coming one.
Good luck, hope you'll finally have your first win
As it is time to claim your win lol.

Thank you for your good words! I almost missed it this time again, it's only 10 days left. But after reading your post I digged out long forgotten coloured pencils and thick white paper from a cupboard, and am starting drawing today, no, right now! Smiley
1042  Economy / Gambling / Re: Whats happening with Betnomi? on: August 19, 2023, 10:26:27 AM
Here's my theory. I don't know if you have seen a Black Mirror episode, "Smithereens", but what's happening here with Betnomi might be similar to the events in that episode, namely: you create a big and very profitable business, make a lot of money, and decide to take a rest in some remote place with no mobile or internet for 2-3 months. Unprofessional? Very much so. But humanly it can be understood. It may be a lifetime opportunity to spend couple of months like that. You are making big money, but you've noticed that you can't rest peacefully, you are always getting phone calls and messages needing your attention, even on holidays. So, one day ypu decide, I have to do it at least once in my life. You put everything on auto-pilot, take your family and friends, and disappear for a summer.

I have to say, I am not a businessman. I'm just a regular guy trying to understand this world. Smiley
Lmao. This is one crazy theory. I have never seen that TV show, but I heard about it and my interest in it has risen thanks to your example. Anyway, I don't think the same happened with Betnomi.

Why would some of their employees delete telegram messages if that were the case? They just bolted plain and simple.

As I said, they "put everything on auto-pilot". Their employees are doing what they think they should be doing, but they can't contact the board to check if it's right.

Here's my theory. <...>

That theory wouldn't explain why he would need other people's money if he simply wanted a break from it all. Moreover, you can still spot him online on Telegram, even though he refrains from posting anything in the official Betnomi group. Instead, he seems to be deleting messages from people who are voicing complaints.

Here's my theory: he's a scammer!

It might be not him. See above.

~

My man Betwrong... I hope that we are far from a Black Mirror reality. And even if that is the case here, in what I really doubt, running a casino is not just any kind of business where you can just decide to close the doors and disappear for a few months.

I am just a regular guy as well, and I think it's too late for any excuses...

I think it's never too late. Germany, as a nation, still apologizes for the Holocaust. Well, Betnomi team disappearing without a word isn't Holocaust, but as my favourite comedian Ricky Gervais would say, it's almost as bad. Smiley At least for some of us it's really bad if we lose all that money on the site. I hope it won't happen.

[...]
Here's my theory. I don't know if you have seen a Black Mirror episode, "Smithereens", but what's happening here with Betnomi might be similar to the events in that episode, [...]

If I am not mistaken, the crisis in that episode ended in less than one day, if not mere hours, and definitely not weeks. And if we take a second to suppose that's what happened, Sorsis took a month-off, it still doesn't explain the other situation where the entire website slowly dissipates into void, admins of tg goes frenzy, social medias followed the website into the void, etc.

You are not mistaken, that's right. But then you remember that someone's life was in danger, not someone's money.
1043  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: who Want To Bet On 2024 USA elections? on: August 19, 2023, 09:32:40 AM
~ Do you still think Trump can win?

He still can. Because he has trained his voting base to ignore, not pay attention or even care of the serious charges he is being accused of. There are even people who still believe that 2020 was a fraudulent election, it does not matter what evidence one can show. In their minds, this is all about a secret battle between the deep state and the savior Trump, and the Republican polling shows it.

In the end, all will come down to whether the moderade Republican base will choose reason over Trump's political aspirations.

Does Trump's voting base make up the majority of Americans? Trump relies on uneducated people, and there's less and less of such people in America each year. Trump needs a time machine for going back in time to the years when he could win the elections.

Sports bettors don't believe he's winning:

Otherwise we wouldn't have the odds like this.
1044  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you gamble because you don't have sufficient money? on: August 19, 2023, 08:44:32 AM
~

I used to do this lately as I had a lot of unpredictable spending for myself and my family, weddings, deaths, vacations and so I needed at least triple the amount of my salary to fit this in,I took some crypto to satisfy the needs but then some of these crypto I thought to double it in sport bets and slots and lost several of that amount.I learned my lesson though, you always lose when you want to make some extra money or to add some money to your existing balance for your needs so I don't advice to anyone doing it.I solved my problem by getting more crypto from my savings and damn, gambling I will never try again with this type of money.

I used to think like this too in the past. But later I realized it's not related. I'm sure you actually know this too. How your winning or losing can be related to your thoughts and intentions? So, sometimes, when we eagerly want to win - we win. Smiley It just so happens. Still, I think it's good to keep in mind that wanting to make some extra money through gambling isn't a good idea. You should always be ready to lose what's on your balance instead of planning to win more.
1045  Economy / Economics / Re: Real estate vs cryptocurrencies vs business on: August 19, 2023, 08:02:19 AM
~ Real estate isn't necessarily a safe investment. Firstly, you need a lot of money for that. Few people can afford investing half a million. Secondly, and there are many examples of that, an apartment you buy today for $250k can cost half of that in 5 years.

Business, again, requires a lot of money. And, as we all know, it's even harder to profit from it than from real estate. And if you are hard working, smart and lucky and thus managed to open a profitable business, in many places in the world it means only more problems and threat to your freedom and life.

What's left is cryptocurrencies, namely Bitcoin. There's a high probability that BTC will surpass its previous ATH, $69k, in a year or earlier. If I had spare money, I'd invested it in BTC. But only spare money, without which I could live the next 2-3 years. And, of course, it's not a financial advice.

In short, bitcoin is the best choice when comparing all 3 because we are on a bitcoin forum  Grin Grin.
And if evaluated fairly and frankly, all 3 are potential areas and can bring good profits for us, as long as we know how to make the best use of it. Many billionaires, many rich people out there they don't own bitcoin, they get rich through real estate, through business... so real estate and business are also very potential. But as you said, since they require a large amount of capital to get started, bitcoin is still the more perfect choice for retail investors like us.

Right. Bitcoin was around $100 ten years ago. And look where are we now. Were there a possibility of buying a real estate back then that would rise 260x in price? And what about business? Can we name someone investing $10k in their business 10 years ago and having it worth $2.5 million today? Well, I'm sure there are such cases, but we all know how rare they are.

So, maybe investing in crypto is a bit like gambling, but what isn't? Only with crypto, especially with BTC, it's not like totally luck-based, right? It's more like sports betting, imo.
1046  Economy / Economics / Re: The whales stirred. What should we expect? on: August 19, 2023, 07:31:54 AM
~

Thank you for rating ! Smiley

In fact, in the title of the topic - there were no STATEMENTS, there were assumptions and a question - what could such movements of large sums mean?
The fact that bitcoin did not sink much, and even won back today, is the market situation. On the other hand, there are more and more sounds that the expected growth of bitcoin will most likely not happen... In a word, there are more questions than answers Smiley

It's not happening now, that's for sure. I don't know the reasons, the SpaceX selloff?, but Bitcoin has dropped by 12% since last week. Hopefully, Musk will sell all crytpo he has and leave it for good at last. But if he won't do that, and will keep doing his thing as others of his kind, then we'll many ups and downs in the nearest future, as, in fact, it always happens with BTC. But what I'm sure of is that eventually we'll be there, around $150k,  if not this year then the next.
1047  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you cheat in gambling? on: August 16, 2023, 01:20:24 PM
~
Actually you are absolutely right because there is no dearth of cheaters but these cheaters can never be called ideal gamblers. An ideal gambler would never participate in cheating even if given the opportunity. Gambling is an ancient form of entertainment although earlier people naturally participated in gambling but did not participate in any fraudulent activities.

Yes. According to stats around 1.6 billion people worldwide gamble, and 4.2 billion gambling at least once a year. Imaging all of them were cheaters: the world would come to an end fast.

But nowadays many gamblers participate in fraudulent activities in the online system. Especially when the low quality minded gambler gets a special bug opportunity and participates in cheating.

As I said earlier, today it's hard to find a bug that could be exploited in order to steal money from a gambling site. Those who can find such a bug are not gamblers, they are dishonest hackers who don't share this information with regular gamblers.  If you  know such cases, share them.

1051  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can i make 100 $ daily from online casinos on: August 16, 2023, 08:59:23 AM
It's been awhile, I try daily to make profit

Stake casino mostly mines

But it take back profit.. I have 2k balance.. is there method

To get 100 $ per day

If you have $2000 then you can easily earn $100 a day by gambling.

This is not true at all. People would stop working, if that was true. "Borrow $2k, play mines, repay the debt in a month, keep playing mines and making money." Is ythat what you are saying?

But if you want to win by gambling then you must have good knowledge about casino and if you are betting then you must know about the players. If you are not experienced in gambling then you are likely to lose money so learn well before betting. You have to accept that if you want to earn you must lose by starting gambling with the amount of money you can afford to lose.

And this is a bit misleading, I would say. No matter how hard you study the game of mines, it won't help you succeed. Think of Heads and Tails. Can you learn the game and then start earning money through it? Same with mines.
1052  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Reckless gambling starts after a win round. on: August 15, 2023, 10:23:02 AM
If you are onto gambling for the first time it's not possible to get addicted to gambling because you haven't tasted what winning feels like, you will be consumed by doubts and uncertainty.

But wait till you have a taste, win some money, that's where you start feeling like there is more if you keep digging, is this not where gambling addiction starts?

We have had a lot of conversations about gambling addiction, but I had the same conversation with someone close yesterday and this was my answer to him.

Do you think its possible to become addicted to gambling when you haven't win a dime or after you win?

I think addiction starts after you win, even if it's just once, that's when you start gambling recklessly and you also start betting higher.

When you haven't won a dime and no one you know won anything, you can't become addicted because there'd be nothing to become addicted to. When you win, you feel good, and want that feeling again. If alcohol wouldn't make you feel good, there would be no alcoholics. Same with gambling: who wants just spend their time and money and get nothing in return?

But it's not like everyone who wins big becomes addicted right away. It's only those greedy for money and excitement. They don't realize that our brain adapts quickly, and you need more and more in the future to feel the same. That leads to "gambling recklessly" and "betting higher", you mentioned. To not end up there, you should be betting smaller and less often.
1053  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Chat GTP destroy poker on-line gambling??? on: August 15, 2023, 09:32:17 AM
ChatGPT has the power to destroy and also to make Anything stronger, see ChatGPT as an advance level of technology. Many people has been against artificial intelligence technology in general, many people has seen it as a system that would take peoples Job

Although I don't think poker game needs ChatGPT service, the system of how the poker game works is fair enough to me, so any interference like ChatGPT or artificial intelligence technology can really affect the balance of things.

I also think that things should be viewed this way. Any invention can either be helpful or harmful, depending on how it's used.

~
The poker table isnt a place for ChatGPT or any AI. Poker isn't just about the cards; it's about the people, their emotions, their bluffing tactics, and the energy they bring to the table. ChatGPT might have a lot of data and power, but it doesn’t have data on face recognition and emotions analysis. The beauty of poker lies in its unpredictability, in human intuition and gut feelings. Injecting AI into this game would be nothing short of sacrilege. It's infuriating that some people even consider using such advanced tech in a traditional, human-centric game. Leave the cards to the humans and the algorithms to the machines

Is it practically possible to follow your advice? To me it sounds like saying "Leave roads to horses!", when automobile was invented. I mean, you could say that, but nobody would listen, right. You can't stop progress.

Also, I would not attach such importance to "human intuition" and "face recognition". Human intuition never helps you in poker. And AI can be pretty good in face recognition, but it doesn't matter because it's not the main factor in winning a poker game, if a factor at all. Movie makers created this myth about face reading of your opponent because films look more interesting with that. But in reality it doesn't work unless you are playing against a 7-year-old.
1054  Economy / Economics / Re: Inflation is making a mess of my savings. on: August 15, 2023, 08:57:15 AM
Inflation made a huge mess some years ago. I fully understand that sleeping money in the bank is not the best way to keep money. So I finally decided to move them into an asset that has the potential to beat inflation and at the same time easier to sell and cash out. And because it was not a good year to invest in crypto, I diversified it to different stocks. And then comes a huge bear run into our local stock market. Some of the stocks I purchased even dropped worse than some of the top 400 altcoins in crypto.

Sorry to hear about your experience. But that's how it is: you either just keep your money in the bank, or you try  to protect it against inflation and you risk and sometimes lose even value than if money just stayed in the bank.

What about you, by the way? If you've just kept your money in the bank, would you have more now in the USD equivalent? And what if you invested in Bitcoin or other crypto? I personally thing that investing in local stocks in unstable countries is more risky than investing in crypto.
1055  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Slots 101: Basics, Strategies, and Discussion (with poll) on: August 15, 2023, 08:14:33 AM
-snip-
That's what should be.

However, for the majority of people (even my self, not really want to be a hypocrite) 90% even me are chasing winning ~XD. I played slot at the time on winning situaton (at least my balance up more than 50%), as you know slot is a gambling game are really drain our money.

Maybe other people can combine playing other game, not just slot (to maintennace the loss from slot are not really high at all).

All of us are "chasing winning" when playing slots. And that's normal. We all want to win. What we shouldn't do is chasing our losses. That's when problems start to appear: when you want to win back what you recently lost. Of course, I was doing this same mistake, and not once, in the past, but the key to know for sure that it's a mistake and try to avoid it.

they might be more disciplined because of the volume of gamblers, but the totality? they are the same that wanted to win and take big money home.
when visiting physical casinos , nowadays i can see there are woman growing
not like in the past that there are limited count of woman against man but these days?
they are growing each year.

Exactly. In the past there were fewer women not only in gambling, but in other fields too. Women were supposed to sit at home, look after children and do housekeeping. When that started to change, in the West it's more than hundred years ago, I think, women started playing more active parts in various fields of life, including gambling. Today, among gamblers of age 45-64 women even outnumber men. But overall, although still in the minority, their part becomes bigger with time.
1057  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino Slot Streamers on: August 14, 2023, 11:16:02 AM
I do not like online casino streamers. They are scammers and deceivers. I signed a petition some months ago for online gambling streamers to be banned. These folks which include but not limited to the list the OP has provided make a lot of easy money from every other thing other than gambling. They lead their young viewers astray deep in to the dungeon of gambling addiction. First, the do not gamble with their own money so, they don't even know the real risk involved. I doubt that they even talk about bankroll management. Second, they are paid by the casinos to promote their platforms and they also get paid through affiliate marketing. This is my viewpoint and opinion on the topic.

Well, it's your right to think so. But I have the right to disagree, don't I? So, I strongly disagree with you, @Davidvictorson.

I wouldn't call them "scammers and deceivers". Read my previous post to see why. They don't gamble with their own money, it's true, and everyone knows that. But "lead their young viewers astray deep in to the dungeon of gambling addiction"? WTF is that supposed to mean? They are just doing their job, earning some money, same as you, promoting vbet. Do you think you too lead your readers "astray deep in to the dungeon of gambling addiction"?
1058  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamble Responsibly on: August 14, 2023, 10:39:12 AM
~
The issue of gambling addicts is large, it's positive to some and negative to others, it's the second set that is feeling the brunt and needs help. I will never support anything that is affecting anyone negatively and the person still doing it, people should always observe themselves and try to shun or reduce anything that seems to retard them. In gambling, desperation is the main cause of addiction, they would want to win by all means, and the more they lose, the more they either believe that there is hope to win or are emotional to try to recover back their losses.

Either way, when you know that you are betting and increasing risk and still losing, you might want to take a break. And if you know you can't control this, you should share it with people or get extra help as you might have been so addicted to the extent that you'd crossed the red line.

Addiction, be it gambling or any other, can't give positive results. If by "positive results" you mean winning some money, then it's even worse. A gambling addict winning a big amount only becomes more addicted to gambling. It's horrible. No money will help you to live happily then. Well, if the money were spent on expensive therapy, it could help. But other than that it's a tragedy.
1059  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A weird belief among some gamblers. on: August 14, 2023, 10:10:46 AM
Every gambler has their own belief at times. Others may find it strange, but it is not for them. What that guy did is comparable to what I've heard about psychology: don't tell people about your plan since the more you tell others about it, the less likely it is to happen. That individual might be thinking that if anyone sees his bet, it would put a jinx on him. That sort of thing. Gamblers are also superstitious because gambling is always, if not most of the time, based on luck.
If you are engaged in an activity that requires luck for being successful, it doesn't provide you an excuse to be superstitious. I mean, you can be, it's your right, no one should be judging you for what you believe, but being superstitious can become problematic, and it surely never helps. Don't do that to yourself.
Even if the activity requires luck, some of us are still superstitious. For example, when we watch a sport game, we can see that a player prays first or do other things/gestures. Some of it may not be familiar to us but they do that because they think it helps them to win and reach their current position.

Praying before a match is a different thing entirely. It can give additional strength to the athlete and he/she can perform better then. It's because in sports your ability to win depends a lot on your emotional state. But praying or something before playing a game totally based on luck is stupid, to say the least.
