1801  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can change of environment have an effect on gambling addiction. on: July 04, 2022, 11:25:25 PM

Now considering someone who is a gambling addict, is there any possibility of him/her becoming better if they are relocated to another environment or society where people around are not involved in gambling?

Can someone still develop the habit of gambling and become an addict even though no one around gambles?

What's the concern of being addicted to gambling where in return, that gambler is still responsible outside their gambling activity? Do you think that these gamblers are totally out of their mind because they are addicted? Why there's a need for them to be relocated and force them to change if they know what they are doing.

Didn't you realize that professional gamblers are all addicted to gambling?

To answer directly your question, gambling is everywhere. Even if they will be put in an environment or society where people are not involved in gambling, these gamblers can still find a way to gamble. Everyone has an access to the internet, buddy. Imagine even those in a place where gambling is illegal, for sure there are not many gamblers around there, but these people can still find a way to gamble.

If the goal is to stop these people, put them on a gambling recovery program and focus to change their mindset to do other activities.
1802  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is for big bag holders on: July 04, 2022, 11:13:48 PM
True that but often times martingale strategy doesn't wait for luck to shine.  It often makes a player's bankroll busted.

OP thinks that starting at a small base bet, thru martingale, will bring the most chance of winning for big bag holders. That double the base bet for every loss will still kill even the whales' bankroll and OP didn't realize that so he tried it. In a dice game, 10x consecutive losses are always possible and OP didn't think about it.

Furthermore, why does OP risk his last remaining dollars on something that there's no assurance he will win. What kind of approach is that. Regrets really happened in gambling and OP has no choice but to move on.

If he wants to come back, it's his choice. But I do hope he is now responsible this time.
1803  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Common Types of Bonuses Offered by Online Casinos on: July 04, 2022, 11:06:46 PM
Btw, there are IP restrictions too, only 1 account per household is eligible for bonuses, otherwise, they will ban account that happens mostly to VPN users.

I think that doesn't matter in most cases since the same wagering requirements remain the same even for multi-accounts. Gambling sites already know that users might create another account to benefit from the bonuses that's why they are making such terms wherein even if the user creates another account, it's not really will benefit the user.

In other words, it's non-sense to make multi-accounts just to take advantage of that bonus terms since, in the end, the user of that multi-account will still spend money to get the wagering requirements that might take time before it can be reached.

Not unless the bonus does have some flaws and is easy to do, which might lead to abuse. On that particular part, gambling sites should be very careful before implementing that bonus and make sure that they won't be prone to multi-account abuses.
1804  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Kazuto Ioka vs Donnie Nietes II on: July 03, 2022, 11:56:45 PM
I respect your belief but we cannot remove the fact that age greatly affects an athlete's performance.  I watch his last fight and his punch recovery after he throws is very slow which leaves him open for possible counters and that is very devastating for a boxer if exploited.
I am rooting for Nietes in this fight because he is one of my favorite until he became inactive.

I didn't say that it was applied to all. I'm specifically just pointing that age factor to Nietes and not to everyone.

As you have mentioned, he seemed slow in his last fight but he still WON right? He was 39 years old at that time. It means even after resting for the ring for years, he still managed to get a win. He can still get to his shape even inactive.

Fighting against Ioka this time, he won't come from inactivity since he has already fought twice. For sure, his training is now regular since he came back in action making his body well-prepared again to fight.
1805  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 03, 2022, 11:47:59 PM
I also think the same, it could be a great tandem and a good addition to the win that is why I listed it as a win for me,
I guess it depends on who they will trade for Gobert.

Bunch of players will be sent to Jazz for Gorbert, I don't know I don't like this thread or I think Jazz gets the advantage here.

I'm not looking yet at the trade details involving Rudy Gobert but from the list, you have posted, that was an insane trade and not a worth deal.

Those 3-4 first-round picks can be a potential superstars in the making in the future. Teams are even tanking just to get that 1st round picks on the draft night. Might make sense to give up 1 first-round pick but for multiple players involved, that was a waste of talent just for Rudy Gobert.

Need to check deeply the details of this trade. Utah Jazz clearly won the trade if that's the return they will get on trading Rudy Gobert.
1806  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo vs Golovkin 3 (September 17) on: July 03, 2022, 11:42:37 PM
Anyway back to the fight, it's hard to believe that GGG can manage to get a win especially this time when his body is already weary while Canelo is still on his prime but who knows, an upset is always around the corner. What I'm seeing is that GGG can withstand 12 full rounds and still give Canelo a struggle on their upcoming trilogy this September.

Since Canelo vs GGG I, it's always Canelo was in his prime but still, there's a doubt if he really dominates GGG at those 2 meetings.

If only Canelo has a satisfying win, I think the trilogy won't ever happen. There is something that needed to settle that's why regardless if GGG is still in good shape or not, this trilogy is a must thing to happen.

Not that it's hard to believe that GGG will win but still, there's a chance. GGG is not a type of boxer that will just easily give Canelo a win. As we speak, GGG is doing his routine training regime every day that makes him in good shape.
1807  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is for big bag holders on: July 03, 2022, 11:33:03 PM
After this experience I believe gambling is for the big bag holders, if you're in urge of making a win. Very much disappointed, because it is the last few dollars I had as a cryptocurrency holding. If I had more funds I wouldn't have encountered this big loss. Martingale once again a failed strategy when you don't have big bag of money.

That's your last few dollars and you still have the guts to place $100 on each dice bet? And now making a conclusion that gambling is only for big holders lol.

You need to realize the wrong thing you did. What are you trying to achieve? For me, you want a rush profit that's why you easily destroy your bankroll.

A Martingale is a form of betting method, "not a strategy to make you win". Since when it has been an effective way to win. If you are playing luck-based gambling games, you have to take care of your bankroll. Even if bag holders used the martingale, it will all end up losing.
1808  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Mark Magsayo vs Rey Vargas WBC Featherweight Title (July 9) on: July 03, 2022, 11:27:47 PM
he might proved that height doesn't matter in boxing again.

If that height didn't use properly, then it's useless. Still, weight and speed play a big role over height. There are lots of times when the taller ones struggle to keep up with the fight because their opponent is quick and versatile. I don't mean that Vargas will be like that but if Magsayo founds a way to box him at most rounds, the latter can score more points in each round while slowly crashing Vargas' defense.

Regardless if Magsayo will win via KO or Decision, a win is a win and I will never say that I'm not satisfied with his performance.

If Magsayo won via Decision especially if it's clear that he really won the match, that's a deserving win with no question.
1809  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Common Types of Bonuses Offered by Online Casinos on: July 03, 2022, 11:21:36 PM

Well yeah, common. Nothing special though as almost all sites should offer bonuses especially when welcoming and attracting new users to the site.

But let's remember that sometimes, these bonuses are not even worth trying especially if the wagering requirement is high or anything pre-requisite is not user-friendly. I encourage new users to please read carefully the promotional terms as much as possible.

Anyway, it's good that livecasino.io rewards their best posters (or all participants?) with some free spins to feel the experience of playing on the site.
1810  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: July 02, 2022, 11:15:54 PM
Honestly, right now, I see him as the best player in the PBA. Fajardo is not anymore on his prime IMO so I think it's already Mikey Williams who is the best player in the PBA and TNT are so lucky having him.

Mikey Williams might already get what he want that's why he is putting all his best. Remember that TNT struggles to get him return on the team because of "contract price". I don't know though what happened next or what's the deal happened between him and TNT.

But the fact that he is showing his beast side, looks like Mikey Williams is now happy with his contract.

Fajardo on the other hand just needs to play at his best as like I mentioned previously, every of his points will be donated at the charity.
1811  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Crawford vs Spence on: July 02, 2022, 11:08:30 PM
I believe Crawford is still a free agent. He doesn't have any promoter now which makes this fight and negotiations very doable. Unless Spence and his team will continue to evade and prolong the negotiations in order to exploit Crawford's age.

But from Mayweather Jr. says, he will be the one to announced if the fight will be finally deal. I suspect that he might plays a big role as a promoter for Terence Crawford. There's no official statement though but all this speculations will be confirmed later on.

The same as you, I also believed that this fight will happened this year. There's no way it should happened next year as I don't see any reason for this fight not to happened. A purse split discussion can be settled properly without something on their way.
1812  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 02, 2022, 10:55:49 PM

Some basketball enthusiast thinks that it's a bad move for the Dallas Mavericks to let go of Jalen Brunson.

But if we will look deeply, that was a good move as Brunson has no plan on staying with the Mavericks. It's like a money game and his preferred team, New York Knicks win on the offer. Brunson's really goal is to play for the New York Knicks. That was his hometown and his Father, Rick Brunson is serving as as an assistant coach for the New York Knicks.

It's good to let go of a player that is not intended to play with the organization for long. Good luck though on his career on New York Knicks.
1813  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo vs Golovkin 3 (September 17) on: July 02, 2022, 10:46:28 PM
Canelo's lost to Floyd early on his career, he was still very young that time and not even a household name in the US. But it's good that he was exposed to Floyd that's what he developed after that to become the top dog in boxing (after Floyd retired for good).

Let's clarify something here, Canelo Alvarez has a record of clean record 42-0 (with 30 KO) before he fought Mayweather Jr. It's not Canelo's early career when he faced The Money. He was also already famous back then that's why he's being chosen and considered as Mayweather Jr. opponent in the first place.

Let's not take that reason why he loss but rather Mayweather is just too much for him. There is no doubt that Prime Mayweather Jr. is a beast and the distance between him and Canelo is too much. They are fighting within the same weight take note of that.

Although Canelo lose, it's a good experience having Mayweather as his opponent on his boxing career history.
1814  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Kazuto Ioka vs Donnie Nietes II on: July 02, 2022, 10:39:03 PM
Nietes is too old for this. He has the experience but he doesn't have the stamina and the vigor of a 33-yr old. I know he's a great boxer, but he's not on the ranks of Pacquiao who can still carry himself extremely well despite being 40 years of age. Perhaps Donnie can still put up some fight in him, but to win in a convincing fashion—or even just win—would be extremely hard for Nietes unless Ioka made some slip up which will cost him this bout.

I might disagree as he still shows fierce at the age of 39 even being sidelined for 2 years.

Being inactive on that period should give a boxer a slow performance but that's not what happened. That's the reason why I can't consider age as his disadvantage the same with Donaire that still can put up a great performance.

Although I see Ioka will be the aggressive here as he wants a bounce back win against Nietes, it doesn't mean that the old Nietes won't able to stand for long. Let's wait on the day of the fight, much better, to see if age really a disadvantage for Nietes.
1815  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Mark Magsayo vs Rey Vargas WBC Featherweight Title (July 9) on: July 02, 2022, 10:30:48 PM
The bookmakers still have the odds in favor of Mark Magsayo, but among other things, he also has a huge incentive to take the top line of the rating, besides, recently he spent more fights in the ring than Rey Vargas, but at the same time he was in the ring for less time. But these are statistics, and we will soon see how the fight in Texas will turn out.

The last time I checked the odds, I think the other day,Magsayo is the slight favorite but the term "slight" shouldn't be used because it's really close.

When I checked it first , around @1.8 by Magsayo and @1.9 by Vargas. Can we still called it as having a slight favorite or underdog?

Like how Bookies considered this fight as close. It just tells us that we can expect a close fight which most fans like.

1817  Local / Pamilihan / Re: PBA Prediction Tournament [7.5k php in BTC prize pool] on: July 02, 2022, 09:04:04 AM

Day 6 Picks:

NorthPort Batang Pier +7.5
Dumikit tong NorthPort nung last game nila against one of the top teams sa liga which is TNT Katropa so baka puwedeng maulit dito sa SMB. Recently din, di nacover ng SMB ang handicap nila. Matalo man ang Batang Pier dito sa SMB tingin ko di sila ganun katambak at ma cover ang spread na ito.

Magnolia Hotshots -2.5
No analysis involved. Mababa ang spread na yan para sa Hotshots at for sure kaya nila icover yan.
1818  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Inherited gambling on: July 01, 2022, 11:58:57 PM
- Would you blame an individual who becomes addicted to gambling because it is wired to his DNA?

-Can their gambling problem be put in check by regular methods?

-Will the addiction be worse than someone who picked up the habit?

The environment around is the reason why a person involves in gambling. I never believed in these DNA or genetic things why gamblers become gamblers. Social activity and culture play a big role while these people are growing up. These are by far the most influential reason we can look at.

If these people will be addicted in the future, it does not make sense to point out that it's because of DNA. Is that even possible?

If the person grows up gambling, maybe that's the environment they were being used to. Not because of DNA-related things.
1819  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 01, 2022, 11:55:30 PM
I think Nets should go on a rebuilding journey again with Kyrie most likely traded and KD looking to opt out of contract as well. The could get future no. 1 picks and for now, just aim to get into playoffs. Could be a franchise defining move if they can find the next LeBron James.

Rebuild again?

Didn't you know that the moment they sign Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant, that's the start of their rebuilding process sacrificing some of their future prospects? There's no need for any rebuild as they are already on it. It's just that their risks are not rewarded but it doesn't mean something good can't work out.

I think there are lots of plans already on their table that need to be finalized. Let's wait for their next move. I'm sure they are already on it and just waiting for some possible scenarios or might be, a change of plans on their usual.
1820  Local / Pamilihan / Re: PBA Prediction Tournament [7.5k php in BTC prize pool] on: July 01, 2022, 05:51:56 AM

Day 5 Picks:

TNT Tropang Giga -13.5
