The more and more I find mining so barbaric and snobistic.

haha i know exactly what you mean. im looking at this new proposal eTherium and it really piques my interest but i cant stop thinking, "mining... really... what is this 2009?"

Was it you that published that article here from bitcoin carbon footprint.

I lost it got to look it up again.

this is the article i wrote https://docs.google.com/document/d/1E_ToOMG2l1XThx6YnyXEajXaf6H1k2yjq8XkAF0ScB4/mobilebasic?pli=1

At this point, Nxt needs a lot more PR and hype. Start spending the funds on the community and awareness of NXT. Even just 1 Million NXT could go a long way.

Set up a time table for when each million is disbursed and to who/what. The dude who posted the chart has the right idea.

thank you, here are "my" plans, if community agrees, those will be "our" plans:

How looks my Nxtmyths paper
- full of mess, but I can show this:

then I am coworking with Ricky on the infographics about Nxt transactions (vs. Bitcoins) (he will update my texts here:

and this is my current plan what to deal wit the unclaimed 2-3 millions (or donations from any other stakeholder)

60 articles, 50 infographics, conferences fees, tournaments, videos, translations....

- I am willing to work on these things 12 hours/day, 6 days/week Smiley

Okay I can release the entire 100K to you, so you can handle the entire process with salsacz and whoever else that might assist.
But I ll need a report at the end of each week. Also I do not care much about numbers: our interest is to get the nxt word to the main crypto and/or finance media sites as wallstreet, zerohedge, coindesk, bitcoinmagazine and genesis block...
Dear bybitcoin,
we discussed it with utopianfuture, I would lead the campaign for your bounty (with cooperation with others), here are the 2 week / 2 month plans in short version:

   A) 15.-28.2.2014: Get existing and new:
   1. Articles (!) (with uniquehorn)
   2. Infographics (!) (salsacz)
   3. Videos (salsacz)
   4. Scientific Papers (utopiafuture+salsacz)
   5. Reviews (!) (community, salsacz)

   - Use it all for:

   B) Only if we have solid client (it could be 30 January), then:
   1. Better Swarm group - email alert  by google form + recruiting in all forums (nifty, salsa) (22.1.+)
      a. Reddit voting
      b. Youtube comments
      c. Articles in magazines comments
      d. Famous Facebook pages comments
   2. Searching for / Contacting crypto celebrities (salsacz, others) (30.1.+)
   3. Searching for / Contacting bloggers, journalists, counference speakers (salsacz, others) (30.1.+)
   4. Group brainstorming about viral videos and campaigns (18.1.+) (salsacz)
      a. Viral campaign about expensive Bitcoin and cheap Nxt network
      b. Study viral marketing to get to the CNN..
   5. Looking for new online tournaments for Nxt - contacting people (18.1.+) (salsacz)

If we had PR commitee funds:
6. Giveaway: 200x?? NXT for people sharing Infographics, videos, articles  on Facebook, twitter, forums and vote in Reddit (salsacz) (February) (no new accounts, proof link/screenshot, depends on number of followers, filled tasks)
1808  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: January 16, 2014, 11:25:58 PM

6 months down the line from now, general advertising may bring us big gains, but if we go all-out now, we will just get a lot of pissed-off people who can't get the tech to work reliably and they will probably not be telling all their friends to go out and buy some NXT.

nobody says to go up now.. 6 months is a good time to get prepared

BUT - Bitcoin is famous because it was first. So if there will be any other PoS / fork with huge marketing asset, they will be the first because of the media attention
1809  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Decisions on 9 million common fund on: January 16, 2014, 10:47:50 PM
What could a PR commitee do with the funds, just a quick idea, feel free to comment:
60 articles, 50 infographics, conferences fees, tournaments, videos, translations....

We can always give less to the giveaways and more to the articles.. However it is important to have the right infographics before any giveaway

I think anything between 2-3M should be fine

Someone suggested a creation of the PR Commitee and many people voted for me to lead it, here is my proposal, about people, who might be there. These people would have to agree on using money from the table in the picture.

some quick ideas

1812  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: POLL: What are the biggest scam/sh*t coins out there? on: January 16, 2014, 09:25:14 PM
It's kind of funny that some of the coins that got rated the highest as most likely to grow in 2014 similarly got rated highest as most likely to be shit or a scam.

I voted for NXT coins though, because the fine print on its exchange reads something like "All bitcoins placed into the exchange belong to the exchange.", and the owner of the exchange, and the main NXT website, also owns another domain with the word "Ponzi" in it for some reason.

It's an interesting concept but it needs to be steered clear of at all costs with the people running it.

NXT got my vote as well. They closed their investment 6 weeks early without advance notice to avoid dilution of existing investment, so the early investors could own a much larger stake, and then start selling a week later at a 4762% markup.

I see they are #2 and should be #1 on the list.

Aye, we know that u r upset, u already posted this in another thread.

Yes, there would always be angry people, but NXT would be able to make the claim that everyone who knew about it and made the stated deadline was able to invest.

Do you deny that the pre-sale was closed early without advance notice to prevent dilution of existing investment?

I checked all BCNexts's posts and there had never been any time limit or number of stakeholders

Thus, I sent out plain text messages to all accounts with more than 50.000 NXT in it that have no public key (204 accounts in total).

you could also buy an alias with short explanation and link to the explanation

I see they are #2 and should be #1 on the list.

if they waited 6 weeks, 6 months, 6 years... there would still be angry people

I just opened my account and there are two transactions of 0+1 sent to 8450504352895951699. This account has an alias-NXTSolaristestaccount. I didn't make these transactions. How is this possible?

What could a PR commitee do with the funds, just a quick idea, feel free to comment:
60 articles, 50 infographics, conferences fees, tournaments, videos, translations....

We can always give less to the giveaways and more to the articles.. However it is important to have the right infographics before any giveaway

I think anything between 2-3M should be fine

There is a Bitcoin Meetup in London coming up next week on January 21:

http://www.meetup.com/London-bitcoin-meetup/events/159181392/

We need to get a few Nxters there to promote and educate people on Nxt.

So come on, that guy from the Moore's Traditional Museum, his friend from Tower Gardens or even our buddy from the Hoebridge Golf Centre, aren't you interested? Cheesy

Buump Cheesy

A marketing Committee

1) I propose Salsacz, Pin, Utopianfuture, Opticarrier & Klee form the marketing committee

Consider uniqueorn for this list. He isn't here a lot but is at the other forum and has put in a lot of time.

actually we are debating with uniqueorn a lot via skype, there is a lot you don't see yet Cheesy

Salsacz (campaigns, viral marketing, media, people, universities... "organizing" all what is in Media topic) - Bitcointalk, all other forums
NiftyNikel (people) - nextcoin
Uniqueorn (people) - nextcoin
Utopianfuture (articles, people, science world) - Bitcointalk
opticalcarrier (scienceworld?)

? Joefox (texts) - wiki, Bitcointalk
? Anon136 (science world)
? Klee (belongs to the dev commitee)

Pinarello (declined)

I think part of the problem we're having with voting is that info about this project is scattered over 3 forums (here, nextcoin.org and nxtcrypto.org) and there is no organization.
see the marketing thread OP in my signature
  • Who is Jean-Luc and what does he do?
  • Is BCNext still involved in programming and development.
  • What do Utopian Future, Klee, Anon, 2Kewl4School and other prolific posters do? Do they program stuff? Write articles?
  • How many developers are there currently working on the full source code? Who are they?
I will explain this all in my Nxtmyths paper (with sources) and video
