www.canadianbitcoins.com

^ i've sent them $200 cash through the mail and they were nice enough to give me the rate I submitted the order at even though the price of a BTC had sharply risen in the time of transit.
1823  Economy / Services / Re: Looking for someone to create/modify software for this forum [2200+ BTC] on: May 12, 2012, 01:16:40 AM
We have objectively compared different forum platforms available in the global market against requirements on this topic. We wanted to know is there any ready platform available that could fulfill these requirements with some modifications or could it be better to build a new platform from the scratch.

We made a deeper investigation to four (4) different forum platforms: Vanilla, IPB, phpBB3 and SMF2 (we dropped vBulletin out because of poor support for PostgreSQL database). There is over one hundred pages of documentation intended to the administrators of this forum sent privately to theymos.

Our summary is that SMF2 with modifications is the best solution for bitcointalk.org. All required and optional features can be included.

Our offer is still active. We have upgraded it to 700 BTC but still we are ready to discuss about the final price. We have in-house team ready to start work.

Who ever ends up winning this thing should go with a facebook messaging system, where your PMs are always in conversation format i dunno how many times ive replied to people or recieved replies from people not knowing wtf we are talk ing about all becuase they didnt quote my last message im sure im not the only with this problem.

This is included to the default installation of SMF2 platform.

Thanks,
Request
SMF2 platform is free, bitcointalk should just upgrade to 2.0.2 and be done with it...
1824  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: is this a working concept? on: May 12, 2012, 12:53:19 AM
Ah, I never realized that the middle button brings up the dialog to enter a bitcoin address...  When the timer runs out, the place in the top right where the timer runs out should remind the user that they need to bring up the bitcoin address dialog..  BUT even when I do that, I can't click on the space to enter my bitcoin address!!!!  It's just not clickable, the 'send' button is highlightable...  I'm using Firefox 12.

edit: I also never realized that these flaws were already mentioned.  keep up the good work bud, the site looks great just a tweak here or there and it'll be perfect!

This product is a total win.  I don't know if it would work at the grocery store, but it beats paypal!

The freebie would be nice, but maybe I can propose a trade?

I make custom vinyl stickers, and I can make some for you in exchange for some cheques!

Good to know some are having the same problem.
I have 5 completely different board that have this same problem,
I found out it would often happen exactly after 10hrs.
try my solution and let me know your result.

i've done it 20 times it always works on 0.5c:

1837  Economy / Marketplace / Re: BEWARE of CIGS.EU on: May 10, 2012, 09:01:58 PM
I recently recived cigaretts from cigs.eu. I ordered Marlboro Gold/Light, well they look like Marlboro but they taste like shit. There is a tax mark from moldavia on them and it says that they are produced by Phillip Morris Switzerland in UKRANIE, but to be honest they realy taste like SHIT! - Not compearable to the original Swiss Marlboro Gold. Since i know that there many guys try to import illegaly fake Cigarets to the EU especialy from Ukraine im not realy sure if that are even the original brands they offer.

This is disapointig cause i realy was thinkin that this would be a good deal, but in fact it seems to me that its just an other scam BEWARE !!

Philips Morris has a factory in Ukraine...

Lol Komunist Village!!

That's like Value Village where you can buy used clothing and merchandise, except at Komunist Village all the used clothing is distributed evenly among the customers (who also need to do work for them as well).

1839  Economy / Marketplace / Re: [ANNOUNCE] WTCR.CA - Canadian Technology Store Accepting Bitcoin on: May 10, 2012, 08:04:53 PM
There is really no need to create an account if you are not making a purchase, and the purchase will work fine and your account will be approved upon purchase, but to make things easier we have disabled the verification for non-purchasing accounts.  Now to create an account, all you need to do is confirm your email address using the link that is sent to you (or the one-time-use password).

It's too bad that my account was never activated, when I signed up the other day.

Someone lost out on a SHITLOAD of BTC.....
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=80255.0

Thanks anyways.

Since you paid with your $ at NCIX, don't you still have >1500 BTC left?  Simply buy 15 more 7970s!  Then you'd be styling!  Think of us for your next purchase anyway!

I already am thinking about you guys for my next Media Server Build.
I got a woody for that 10-bay hot-swap 4U and I think it will fit the bill.

As far as my account activation, the email I received said this:

Quote
bitlane,

Thank you for registering at WTCR - Winnipeg Technology and Computer Renewal.
Your application for an account is currently pending approval. Once it has been approved, you will receive another e-mail containing information about how to log in, set your password, and other details.

If you could email me a password, that would be cool.

I simply waited for a second email that never came...LOL

Next time.

BTC + Canada = Win Win for me.
bitlane.

bitlane I have approved your account.  I could see how frustrating that must have been, and there is a list of other accounts which are pending approval but pretty much all the usernames look like spam accounts (they mostly have jewerly, shopping, toys, and a bunch of random charactors at the end) so I think I'll just approve your account and new customers will just have to verify their email addresses to create an account.

Quick tip guys - make info about postage costs available to people without signing up for an account.

^I'm wanting to buy one of these and will probably do it through you guys, although not for a little while as I just spent 90BTC total on some other stuff  Lips sealed

Need info on shipping costs to the UK, but to buy through you currently, my process is:

-Find item
-Go to checkout
-Sign Up for account
-Enter Details
-Get total price
-Go to exchange
-Transfer money into exchange
-Exchange to bitcoin
-Transfer to wallet
-Find item again
-Go to checkout
-Enter details
-Pay

So that's ~5 days to get coins, and I've then got a wait of several days for delivery, with possible customs issues and no way to do a chargeback if someone decides to screw me over.

Whereas my process for ordering locally, my process is:

-Find item
-Go to checkout
-Hit "Pay with paypal"
-Pay

And I get the item within 48 hours.

I think to be honest the market for bitcoin-only stores like this isn't really going to work. Just as fairly few stores are paypal-only, bitcoin web-based stores should be able to promote it, but also simultaneously offer other payment methods.
That, and making your website more streamlined, is how you'll drive traffic to bitcoin sales. Check out Cigs.eu, they've got a very good implementation.

You don't need a user account to check the shipping on an item at all, and the general idea is that our customers will already have bitcoin and will not need to go to an exchange, but that process is the opposite as if you had bitcoin and wanted to convert it to CDN/USD to shop elsewhere.

If you want to check how much shipping is on an item:

- Select "add to cart" on an item(s)
- Click "checkout"
- Enter your postal or zip code in "delivery information"

Your shipping quote will start processing as soon as that information is present.  If you then have to purchase that amount of bitcoins from an exchange, that's another step you have to take.

We can, however, accept other payment methods.  We haven't integrated Paypal into the website for a few reasons, primarily we would like to stay as a bitcoin-only store.  We have had local customers call us and say they have no idea how to purchase bitcoins but they have cash, they arrange to order the product from us and come down to the shop here and pay for it, but it is very rare and handled on a case-by-case basis.  If you have a payment method that you would like to use, call us at 1-204-272-2945 between 9AM and 6PM CST and let us know how we can help you.
