1821  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A decentralized blockchain. Is it ever possible? on: November 23, 2016, 06:55:04 PM
It's impossible to scale on-chain anywhere relevant. It's simply physically impossible to compete against payment networks by scaling onchain, unless you want to turn bitcoin itself into a paypal 2.0 (duh). The only solution to scale is Lightning Network which delives a reasonable amount of decentralization while backed by the bitcoin blockchain. I repeat: There is no other way, scaling onchain will never get us anywhere near what we want (world domination, millions of transaction per second etc). We will need a 2nd layer, unless some alien from the future comes with a space machine and gives us a new technology that can scale onchain while having small nodes that everyone can run on their basements, which is not gonna happen.
1822  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [News]WHY AGAINST SEGWIT AND CORE? Mining investor gives his answer on: November 23, 2016, 06:51:55 PM
It's funny how all those losers appeal to "market should decide" when the market is already freely giving Core most of the support because the alternatives are amateur coders that would fuck something up real quick and ruin what has taken countless hours to built. It's all about being conservative and guaranteeing bitcoin will be alive in 50+ years and all those reddit shitposters are no good if that's the goal.
1823  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are you all - Sheep? on: November 23, 2016, 06:49:51 PM
The guys you mentioned are putting hard work and dedication into making bitcoin better and make it scale in a viable way that doesn't centralize nodes, unlike Roger Ver and the rest of idiots that don't even know how to code and act as if they know shit about how bitcoin works beyond shitposting on internet forums.
1824  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What's your dice strategy? on: November 22, 2016, 05:31:52 PM
My strategy is to take gains and stop playing before I start falling in a bad luck streak, so I never playing for too long, and I never use auto throw or auto spin for the slots, I like to click each time individually myself, because I feel like it ads more of a random element than automatic throws of the dice/spins... probably it's placebo but i like to click myself.
1825  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC 205: Alvarez vs McGregor Prediction and Info Thread on: November 22, 2016, 05:23:53 PM
I was away for the weekend and finally just got a chance to watch the fight. I was
avoiding all the threads and all the sports news lol.

Wow I think it's fair to say Mcgregor is the most polarizing fighter
since Mike Tyson. I know mayweather is great but was  kinda boring and just
so good at defense.

He is probably the current "baddest man on the planet" right now. Mayweather just called him out:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XVeRk7piOnk

He called him an ant, saying he is an elephant. I think the fight will happen.. look at the millions of views this stuff gets. If the Conor Mcgregor vs Mayweather happens we could be talking about the highest paid fight ever with the most views ever. Im sure both will agree to fight for the right amount of money.
1826  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will bitcoin still be the preferred cryptocurrency after 10 years? on: November 22, 2016, 03:45:28 PM
Altcoins are mostly a mess. In terms of life expectancy, bitcoin has no competition at all. No one is going to willingly put their money into a cryptocurrency that has no realistic expectations to live in the long term, and bitcoin is the only crypto that has that trait: long term trust. So no, it will not get replaced by any other crypto as the king of crypto, it will reign supreme and it will be worth hundred thousands of inflation adjusted dollars.
1827  Economy / Speculation / Re: The adoption boom is coming on: November 22, 2016, 01:46:39 PM
Im looking forward Megaupload 2 a lot. There's a lot of people that often shit on Kim Dotcom saying he is a fraud, but I think that this is because he is a very controversial figure, but at the end of the day, he has been successful in his businesses. His fame is a good asset to get free marketing and if he can deliver at a technological, the service will be a success. Im glad the crowdfunding has been a success. Now it's his time to deliver a good package.
1828  Economy / Economics / Re: How many Bitcoins for Retirement. For Average Age and Salary NEWBIE. on: November 22, 2016, 01:41:53 PM
When Bitcoin is established as the global new gold/currency in about 10 to 20 years, owning around 21 BTC will put you in an elite of a small group of less than 1 million people. On a global economy, 1 million people is a very reduced amount of number. There is simply no way that those holding 21+ BTC aren't rich by then.
1829  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Many Millions of People Use Bitcoin? on: November 22, 2016, 01:36:53 PM
It's impossible to know about it, because if you try to look for all the users that are using bitcoin, you will see that it's impossible since the amount of transactions and generated addresses is too big and obfuscated to try to have any realistic number of people using it, we can only guess by the gross amount of transactions and it only keeps going up so its reasonable to think that more and more people keep joining bitcoin constantly.
1830  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin make Banks disappear? on: November 22, 2016, 01:31:32 PM
People constantly complain about losing bitcoins in accidents like losing passwords, losing hard disks and what not, because let's face it, most people can't take care of their own money, they depend on others and can't face the responsibility of managing your own money, so I think banks will always exist, even if banks are dealing with bitcoin.
1831  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC 205: Alvarez vs McGregor Prediction and Info Thread on: November 14, 2016, 05:45:39 PM
I just saw the fight because I was too tired to stay awake until it started, so I went to a website and saw it. Well, what can I say? It's really awesome how McGregor handled it. The combination of punches that KO'd Eddie were awesome, he's so quick and sharp.

I didn't gamble because I wasn't sure so I didn't win or lose any money.

Now the Mayweather vs McGregor rumors seem to begin again.

Oh please.  I would rather watch McGregor vs Ferguson in a real MMA fight than watch Mayweather fight him.  And from what I hear, Mayweather wants a lot of rules and limitations set up if he fights.  He's just out there for the money and to stay relevant.  I say Conor should just avoid fighting vs him if it wasn't by his rules.

Let's face it, boxing is dying in a real way.  There's just no growing interest in it if you compare it to MMA and especially the UFC.  This is its golden age and we should feel lucky to have lived in a time to witness it happen before our eyes.

McGregor needs Mayweather if he wants a 9 figure payday, and even if Mayweather is rich for life and retired, if he is offered a 9 figure payday, he will come out of retirement because he is a businessman at the end of the day.

Im pretty sure McGregor is really interested in seeing the fight happening, and he will accept Mayweather rules (basically a regular boxing match) because again, Mayweather is the strong hand in the negotiations. I think he has like 1% chance of winning against Mayweather in a boxing match, but everyone is going to see that fight like it or not, which is why a lot of people think it's very possible that it happens.

There will be millions of dollars in bets alone that night. I know if the fight happens, im going all in on Mayweather.
1832  Economy / Economics / Re: How Hillary Clinton Seeks to End The Internet, Bitcoin and The Free World on: November 14, 2016, 04:28:47 PM

Well, considering that Hillary Clinton has now lost the election, she can't do nothing about it. Now we will see how Trump reacts to bitcoin. I have heard he had a guy in his staff that was pro bitcoin, some guy related to paypal. I fail to see how he is pro bitcoin to be honest.
1833  Economy / Speculation / Re: I will not Die Untill Bitcoin will reach at Least 50K on: November 14, 2016, 04:26:04 PM
We will for sure not only see 50k, but 100k, during the next 10 to 20 years. Once bitcoin starts rising it's going to do several orders of magnitude in a matter of hours. Right now the marketcap is only 10 billion dollars, this is absolutely nothing in the grand scheme of things.
1834  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If Bitcoin was made illegal by your government would you still use it? on: November 14, 2016, 04:15:28 PM
It will be the final test to see if people still use it once the governments make it illegal all over the world. If people get scared and stop using it then ti will mean bitcoin failed, because bitcoin is supposed to resist all government attacks and keep working no matter what happens. It would suck if it gets reduced to a tiny amount of people using it. Sure you can claim bitcoin still wins because the technology works, but what's the point if only a few people use it? the idea is to take over the world.
1835  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where would Bitcoin be without XT and Unlimited? on: November 14, 2016, 03:18:49 PM
Satoshi wouldn't have been happy about XT, Classic or Unlimited since he wanted to keep the community together working in Core. He said supporting alternative software after 0.1 would be a bad idea, in fact, a "menace to the network":

The nature of Bitcoin is such that once version 0.1 was released, the core design was set in stone for the rest of its lifetime.  Because of that, I wanted to design it to support every possible transaction type I could think of.

I don't believe a second, compatible implementation of Bitcoin will ever be a good idea.  So much of the design depends on all nodes getting exactly identical results in lockstep that a second implementation would be a menace to the network.  The MIT license is compatible with all other licenses and commercial uses, so there is no need to rewrite it from a licensing standpoint.

This is something that all those big blockers "appealing to satoshi" tend to forget.
1836  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain Wallet - More Than 8 Millions Users - How To Protect The Wallet on: November 14, 2016, 02:49:34 PM
How to protect your Bitcoins?

Don't use Blockchain.info wallet.

I cannot emphasise this enough. Blockchain.info wallet IS NOT by any means, safe. Just like any other web wallet, they have access to your private keys, encrypted or not. It is still possible for them to get the Bitcoins by capturing your passwords or just use a weak encryption method when encrypting the password. The 'security' features that blockchain.info wallet only protects against hackers who have your password or are trying to bruteforce your password but are not protecting your wallet against the hackers or employees who are targeting the server. A simple research would tell you how flawed the idea of blockchain.info is.

Yeah, no online wallet will ever be safe. Blockchain.info wallet can be useful for newbies, and maybe to store some chump change, but other than that it's pretty useless. Anyone holding relevant amounts of bitcoin inside blockchain.info is up for a harsh awakening, some day they will look at their accounts and it will be empty.

Remember to always save your BTC locally ideally in a computer not connected to the internet at all.
1837  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: To Gamble or To Invest? on: November 13, 2016, 01:32:39 PM
The problem with most investors is that they go there thinking that gambling is the same as investing, when it's a very different game, so what people need to do is learn how to properly research the stock or commodity or whatever asset they are investing at and see if it's worth the risk.

Sure investing in a way is a gamble since you need luck too, but the more you research the less luck you will need.
1838  Economy / Gambling / Re: Battlecoin.org - Multiplayer bomberman clone on: November 13, 2016, 01:24:43 PM
Bomberman for bitcoin? is this true?! I'm an avid fan of Bomberman wayback 90's.  I would like to play this game and will gamble my money while having fun. Whoever did this was so genius. I feel nostalgic right now. Anyway, I need to catch up first with my bitcoin so I have something to bet against my opponents. Will bookmark this page and I'll play once I'm armed and loaded. For the who are playing, have fun guys!

But there is only less people attract into this kind of gamea to eaen bitcoin though. Although you like this game as same as some people but this is pvp games. With only less people play for it, I dont think this site will still have anything to do right here. This game being left by people long time and there is no update too

People love this game, the problem was that it had too much lag, and losing money because of lag is too annoying, also given that the developers stopped working on it and also stopped promoting it, we get 0 players.

If someone picks up this idea, continues it and promotes it with marketing, the success is guaranteed.
1839  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price to hit $1000 around June 2017 on: November 13, 2016, 01:17:59 PM
The Bitcoin price could sky rocket any moment as soon as Trump gets inside the white house and starts pushing his policies. Nobody thinks he is going to actually go through with them but im convinced he will stick to his word and deliver. As soon as he shows his cards markets will crash big time and btc will go to 1000+.
1840  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is there any chance of having any "fiat" like system that is backed by Bitcoin? on: November 13, 2016, 01:11:37 PM
It is perfectly possible, not today, but it will be once we have sidechains and lightning network. A country will be able to create their own crypto, and give them the properties that the government in question wants, and ultimately it's all backed by bitcoin. I think this is what we will see in the distant future, but of course there is always the possibility that governments don't want to do anything to do with bitcoin and create a thing that is totally separated from it.
