1821  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: An alternative to gambling with money. on: June 30, 2022, 11:39:02 PM
A better suggestion and an alternative to quitting gambling completely is to start betting with fake money gambling apps. With FAKE MONEY GAMBLING APPS, you can continue gambling on the app even on live games, but with fake money. So in reality you can maintain the experience you derive from gambling and not loose any money except the fake one in the process.

When someone is quitting gambling, there should be no involvement in any gambling-related stuff even if they are playing with fake money. I don't see how it becomes a big help to overcome gambling addiction where in fact they are just doing the same thing but no real money is involved. The excitement of winning here will just lead them to return to gambling. This idea will just make the problem worst. Didn't you even think that?

There are lots of entertainments and activities that these people can try. Why still gambling-related?

Think outside the box or much better if you will totally remove the box. There are other ways to make these addicted gamblers overcome their gambling problems without the need of luring them to test those games.
1822  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: June 30, 2022, 11:30:45 PM
Anyhow, just like what others have been speculating, no offense to Butler, but I don't think he has what it takes to take the Monster and bet him. It's good that he got the WBO belt, but he really talks trash about Casimero back then. So they should fight Casimero first, or WBO ordered the fight and whoever be the winner facing Inoue, that will be the perfect setup match.

We do hope that WBO will grant Casimero's request to allow him to become the mandatory challenger for Paul Butler.

It's reasonable to be asked for knowing Butler really didn't fight the real champion although it was Casimero's fault why it turned out like that. If ever granted, I hope a responsible Casimero will emerge this time. It's hard to deal with Inoue if Casimero continues to struggle with his maintaining weight problems. Boxers need to be at their 100% health status when facing the Japanese monster.

I do hope that a title defense will happen first on Butler before Inoue will target the last title at the Bantamweight Division to become the undisputed champion.
1823  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Phil Mickelson Opens Up About Losing MILLIONS From Gambling on: June 30, 2022, 11:22:59 PM
It's a shame that they have to lose everything that they can and realizes it only at the end that they no longer have everything. But, I also saw those stories of those gamblers that have been in that situation and then retrieved themselves and got a better life and they've recovered.

Not just in gambling but sometimes, these people have to experience the worst-case scenario of their life before turning into responsible and disciplined people.

The same as those people who got scammed, they will never learn what to do next if they didn't experience anything bad. The worst experience is one of the very effective recipes for forming a good foundation for our experience. Without that bad experience, the progress won't be smooth along the way.

After all, if we just experience winning, we will never think in our life of stopping or moderating our gambling activity.
1824  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Reasons why people avoid KYC in gambling casino ? on: June 30, 2022, 11:16:10 PM
Can we really avoid KYC in a casino?  For example, if you won a jackpot of $1M  and the Casino required you to undergo KYC for whatever reason, would you succumb to their request?

Almost at most sites, big winnings might be subject to KYC. If I won a $1M jackpot, why should I hesitate to undergo KYC? I don't really care for any risks as long as the site is somehow reputable in the crypto-gambling world. If they won't approve my KYC, then that's another story of "what if".

Before, crypto exchanges can be freely used without undergoing KYC but to make their business legit, they have to comply with the government's policy regarding KYC and AML-related laws. That's the start of centralization. We should also expect that someday, gambling sites will ask for this KYC stuff but as long as we are not winning big, and we are not talking about a $100 win here, that should be not a problem.

About the topic, KYC is a really big no as gamblers are supposed to just gamble at crypto-gambling sites without a hassle. Fortunately, it's not being demanded and we can still freely play without KYC. Enjoy it while it last lol.
1825  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Crawford vs Spence on: June 30, 2022, 11:06:15 PM

To prevent expectations, don't believe for now that it would happen in October so you won't get disappointed if that's not what happened. We just have to wait patiently for the official announcement as that will erase all the speculations. Adjust your expectations to a minimum of October until the 1st quarter of 2023. What matter here is, that this fight is not like any anticipated match that has several obstacles. We didn't see yet and major problems why this fight should not happen this year.

For let's say the fight will be in October, announcing it this July or August shouldn't be a problem. There's also no problem with promoting the fight as I'm sure, right away after the official announcement, expect sold-out tickets within a week including PPV globally. Spence is the King of PPV regardless of his opponent. What's more against the top boxer too, Terence Crawford.
1826  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 30, 2022, 10:57:31 PM
The drama will always attached to Ben Simmons, no matter where he goes, I mean the way he severed his ties with the Sixers that drag them for the whole season. So I guess it's more on the mentality of Ben now, no one can help him except himself. Durant could be a good mentor, but what if Ben is missing those free throws and becomes a liability then? So it will haunt him until he improved his free throws or even take a good shot outside so that he can silence his critics.

How can you say that Simmons will still be like that? It's just the first time he was traded to another team so what reference can we look at?

It does, that's another problem if Ben Simmons will still be like that while on the Brooklyn Nets. He likes that trade and really looks forwards to it. He gets rid of his problem already and he should be good now. New environment, new teammates, another start. I don't see any reason why he should make some drama again not unless another personal problems between him and one of his teammates occur.

And don't worry. Steve Nash already has a good portfolio and experience dealing with a Diva. I think it's even hard to handle the other one compare to doing some good talks with Ben Simmons. The other one has lots of egos to deal with compared to Ben Simmons who I think just needs a new environment to play with.
1827  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo vs Golovkin 3 (September 17) on: June 30, 2022, 10:51:07 PM
Looking at the current odds:

ML
Alvarez - 1.21
GGG - 3.95

So that is a huge disparity as far as the odds goes and they seems to really favoring Alvarez here. Maybe the age factor is what this bookies are looking at, GGG just won his last fight, while Canelo lost to Bivol. I think it's a great odds for GGG supporters this early as it is very attractive.

What a gap but I'm in favor of that. I like to put a fair amount on GGG regardless of both boxers' status. I think it's just fine to place a bet for him knowing that the trilogy might be his last fight, win or loss. GGG will put everything into that fight as that might be the last time he will fight seriously in a big match. Yes, I will bet against most analysis speculation as they favored Canelo here to win the match.

Might be late for the trilogy as GGG is no excuse for age gap disadvantages but I'm sure, like what he did in their 2 previous fight, GGG will be able again to put Canelo on his limits. The latter is surely still under the effect of stressful loss against Bivol. Hard to regain confidence on that as that was a bad loss despite being a heavy favorite in that match.
1828  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: June 30, 2022, 10:44:42 PM

Talking about the balance in the league, it might not happen now and we won't be able to see the glory days when almost all teams are competitive. I know teams on the bottom tier can also give a good contract but what's the sense of spending too much on their teams if only a few good talents are available.

It's not about teams who have the ability to give contracts but how many players in the league are doing competitive performance currently? That's the reason why most of these players are in top companies. If only there are lots of rising stars in the league, more talents will be spread out like the classic days when even top teams can't just sign good players as there are lots of talents around.

The only time we can see these mid to low-tier teams competing in the Semis or Finals is during Governors Cup and Commissioners Cup. I hope some mid-tier teams can sign an import with the likes of KJ McDaniels who was able to lift a mid-term team last conference. Unfortunately, personal problems occur and we never see his team where would they supposed to end up at the last conference.
1829  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does bitcoin dump have any impact on gamblers ? on: June 30, 2022, 10:36:49 PM
The whale gamblers won't be affected much, but the common gamblers like you and me spending few dollars were affected, because when we spend $20 on a single bet we're risking near to 0.001BTC in today's price. If the price is around $31k then what we're risking is near to 0.00065BTC. There is a difference and this is what we say the common gamblers were affected.

At most gambling sites nowadays, there's always an option to bet on USD value worth of  BTC.

When you are betting using a USD value, that $20 bet will be adjusted too.

Not unless you are betting always on a fixed BTC value, which I think is not your usual. Am I right here?

How do you place a bet? I don't see the difference between betting a $20 in $20,000 BTC value and a $30,000 BTC value. You won't feel much as what matters here is to just continue your usual betting. While placing a bet, it does not make sense for me to include that current BTC exchange rate on your mind while you are playing. It's a distraction.
1830  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and MLM Schemes on: June 30, 2022, 10:29:07 PM
I just heard that gambling is just like MLM schemes as people only loses both in gambling and MLM schemes ?
Is it true ?

Of course not. While most of the time, losing might be the end result, it does not make sense to compare the usual gambling to MLM schemes.

To prevent further spoonfeeding, I suggest searching what MLM schemes look like. Here are some articles you can read on:

https://www.investopedia.com/terms/m/multi-level-marketing.asp
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multi-level_marketing

Come back here after reading those and try to answer now by yourself if gambling and MLM schemes are quite the same.
1831  Local / Pamilihan / Re: PBA Prediction Tournament [7.5k php in BTC prize pool] on: June 29, 2022, 05:52:48 AM

My picks:

TNT Tropang Giga -5.5
ROS Elasto Painters +7.5

Medyo alangan ako na ma-cover ng SMB iyong -7.5. Iba rin tong ROS at di pa sila natambakan ng todo this eliminations kahit nakalaban na nila ang ilan sa top teams gaya ng TNT Katropa at Brgy. Ginebra. Tingnan natin. Cheesy
1832  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Crawford vs Spence on: June 27, 2022, 11:27:30 PM
If this fight is not going to happen then it's too bad for us. Probably this fight will not happen if the first negotiations will bog down, Crawford is not getting any younger and should be pursuing big fights like this before he retires.

Yes, that's too bad as it was anticipated by most boxing fans in the world. But for me, that will happen.

Lots of time to prepare for this if the supposed target month is October or even on the 1st quarter of 2023 but that was already too long waiting.

If ever the fight won't happen, both will likely meet at the Super Welterweight but there are big names here that they will meet like Jermell Charlo, Brian Castano, Erislandy Lara etc. Charlo is one of Crawford's targets in the future. We should just trust the process as both boxers really gives us hints that this fight will happen for real without anyone standing in their way.
1833  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo vs Golovkin 3 (September 17) on: June 27, 2022, 11:18:03 PM
But it seems he looks very fresh in the Murata fight and won the fight hands down, but Canelo was slow at 175 lbs. But we can't say if this is going to be GGG's last fight. Boxers tend to fight just one last fight before they hang up their gloves for real.

GGG received lots of open shots by Murata in the early rounds. That is supposed to be an easy dodge for GGG but still, Murata is able to connect lots of it.

If those punches are much strong, GGG might end up being knocked out. We really see that GGG is now showing signs of slowing down but still, his durability is still strong. I just hope those punches that GGG receives by Murata won't happen here against Canelo. GGG should not allow again being a punching bag at early rounds as Canelo is different from Murata.

It's risky to receive early blows on the early rounds as he might not recover like what he did against Murata.

After this second fight with Canelo, he fought Sergiy Derevyanchenko, then Kamil Szeremeta you can say that argument that he was also hit more than in this fight specially Derevyanchenko but he managed to win by UD and then against Murata although we seen hm take more punches again still he won that fight via TKO. So GGG still holds a better chin that I don't think that even Canelo can break it down.

And again, you can also used your argument against Canelo here, he was hit with volumes by Bivol, a true LHW and with power, does it mean he has been soften up?

I can't take that example as what we need to refer to is their recent fights before the trilogy.

Even though GGG win his previous fight against Murata, he was being dominated in early-round first before taking the Round 9 TKO win. If GGG was in his prime, or let's say post-prime (different from retirement period) he is supposed to dominate Murata the entire fight.

Canelo on other hand, even coming from a loss with Bivol, is fighting in his prime. He is totally different compared to Murata that's why I said that GGG shouldn't allow the same scenario he experience during the early rounds of fighting with Murata.

Honestly, I'm looking for GGG winning the fight as Canelo still has more chance to redeemed himself even he loses here.

The game last night was a tragedy for Converge as they don't only lose that game but they also lost some players to injury which was vital to their campaign this season, a big blow for them.

3 players are now on their injury list.

Jeron Teng (Hip - 1 week now)
Justin Arana (Double sprain)
Kurt Lojera (Big lump below the eye)

I'm looking forward to this team reaching even the Quarterfinals but the road for them will be tough because of these injuries.

Maybe Lojera will just be out for several days and likey can play on their next game. But Teng needs to rehab for at least 2-3 weeks and Arana for about a week.
1835  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Mark Magsayo vs Rey Vargas WBC Featherweight Title (July 9) on: June 27, 2022, 11:02:57 PM
maybe it's because bookmakers need to be sure that the fight will happen and for that reason they only list fights 1 day or 2 days before the fights happen, In my opinion bookmakers should list at least 2 weeks before the fights. fights so we can see how the odds would be and how they would vary, this gives a better perspective of who can win the fight, of course, even without odds people already have an idea of who can win the fight, anyway it will be a very interesting fight

Bookies can just easily cancel and suspend the bet if a certain match won't continue due to certain reasons.

A refund will surely follow and that should be a common approach from the bookies. Bookies gave odds reference at least a month or a few several weeks before the fight but that was on fiat bookies. From there, crypto-bettors can picture out what are the expected odds they can get once it will now be listed on the crypto-sportsbook.

Since then, it's really usual to see bookies just listing any Filipino-involved fight 1-2 days before the fight, as others even mentioned, on the crypto-sportsbook.
1836  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online Casino Trends For 2022 on: June 27, 2022, 10:56:32 PM
Gamblers in restricted location cannot still play legally.

There are a lot of casinos which are going to essentially ban you and kick you out the moment you know that you are using a VPN, even if it goes okay at the time of the bet you still won't be able to withdraw and you will be banned, there are some casinos that does allow VPN ofc but it's better to use terms and conditions.

That's not about using a VPN for sure but since there are users accessing the site from restricted regions, that will be a violation.

As far as most gambling sites are concerned, using VPN is not really prohibited as that won't even lead to another form of abuse except for the situation that I have mentioned. If VPN was used to a location that is not prohibited by the gambling site, there's nothing wrong with using it. It's just to mask the real IP and gambling sites already know that privacy matters to their users.

Don't use VPN to access it from restricted regions and that will surely result in a ban hammer not unless there's a part of the Terms and Service that directly pointed out that the use of VPN is illegal and prohibited.
1837  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 27, 2022, 10:50:53 PM
I don't see why any team would want to keep Anthony Davis or acquire him. He is injured and sits out more then half of every season since entering the NBA. The Lakers are just bleeding money keeping his bum ass.

Simply because he's the most consistent player, I think in the whole league, that even after an injury or long-hiatus, you can expect him to produce big numbers once he returned which most players can't do. There's no such thing as recovering the rhythm or adjusting to the situation for this guy. If you will do some recap of last season, Anthony Davis always goes rampage once he returns to the court. He's by far the consistent Laker player on the roster.

Even injury-prone, teams are likely to gamble as it is worth it instead of getting good names but showing inconsistencies in the game. Anyways, yes I agree it's a waste that the Lakers can't utilize him much because he is soft. I hope next season, he will remain healthy all year to make the competition tough.
1838  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Government Owned Online Casinos What Do You Think Of Its Potential on: June 27, 2022, 10:40:16 PM
Just imagine the following scenario:

The government of country Z has 30 casinos throughout the country, all 30 casinos are owned by the government, in each casino there are 20 employees, that means that the government has to pay salaries to 600 employees, the government will have to give reforms to 600 employees when those employees retire. And also when every high-ranking official of the political party that governs the country wants to play without spending money and put it in the government account he can do it whenever he wants, who will stop him?

Now if the 30 casinos are in the hands of the people and not the government, it will be 600 fewer people that the government will have to spend on salaries and pensions and there will be no corruption from some high-ranking official of the political party that governs the country to play for free

I think you watch movies too much.

In that scenario, the total spending of the government is just a piece of candy for a country that has a healthy industry in gambling. And besides, there's a certain tier where employees will be qualified for retirement benefits. We are not talking about just 10 years of service and I doubt most employees there will remain working for casinos for most of their lifetime.

In the 2nd scenario, what do you mean by if casinos are in the hands of the people? Are there casinos that are run by it? Do you mean private? Then it's not that good for the government as they are just getting taxes here instead of the pure revenue.

What are you trying to point out on your given example? Can you elaborate?
1839  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you Considered a Career in Betting Consultancy? on: June 27, 2022, 10:32:22 PM
Already imagined as half the gamblers from the forum have become betting consultants. Bookmakers are going bankrupt and the whole betting industry is in deep crisis. All because of the crazy success of the new consultants. Cheesy But all kidding aside, it seems to me that this kind of activity is like trusting money in trading, where you end up losing your savings. It all benefits someone else, but not you.

You are overreacting and I don't think you are really getting the picture here.

Can you explain how on earth will bookies go bankrupt if half of the gamblers here in the forum will become betting consultants?
Can you explain how possibly the whole betting industry will be in crisis just because of that?

I can't imagine you end up to that non-sense conclusion where in the first place, it shouldn't be. I'll wait for your response and let's have a healthy argument.
1840  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Macau's Casino Operation Continues Despite The Latest Outbreak on: June 27, 2022, 10:24:17 PM
what these offline casinos can do is develop their own online casinos as counterpart. but the irony of this is "all forms of online gambling in Macau are considered outlawed" as per section 3.1 of this Gambling laws and regulations in Macau .
i believe this regulation will change soon as they need to adapt the developments in gambling community. if they will be strict to this, they will find out soon that a lot of their traditional players are now into online casinos. remember, some people are not up to traveling these days.

I think there's no need for a shift or a big modification. Pandemic is not here forever. The gambling industry will surely rise again once they were finally able to control the situation. We are not talking about long-term dealing with the pandemic there.

As far as gambling revenues are concerned, and as I mentioned, their big reserves coming from gambling can cover all health-related expenses.

Macau is a pit stop for most gamblers around the world, especially in the Asian region. Gambling is already part of the culture and entertainment there. Making online casino counterparts at most will just change that status. It doesn't make sense. Again, the pandemic is not here forever.
