Ok here is a quick price comparison of a few products selected at random comparing our prices to NCIX.com and Newegg.ca, two massive retailers.  The prices below are current as of this writing but tomorrow they could be different.

The prices in brackets are the regular non-promotional prices.

ItemNCIX.com PriceNewegg.ca PriceWTCR.ca priceWTCR.ca Price ($)
Seagate 2TB ST2000DL003 HDD$139.98$119.9925.63 BTC$129.94
Asus P9X79$259.99 ($282.50)$269.9961.11 BTC$309.82
Asus P8Z68-V PRO/GEN3 Motherboard$194.49 ($219.62)$209.9945.11 BTC$228.71
BenQ G2450HM 24" LCD$179.99 ($200.98)$186.9938.96 BTC$197.53
Thermaltake TRX-1200M TR2 1200W PSU$239.99$225.99 ($254.99)46.75 BTC$237.02
Sapphire Radeon HD 7950 OC 11196-02-40G GPU$429.99 ($499.99)no stock/deactivated90.23 BTC$457.47
Asus GeForce GTX 680 GTX680-2GD5 GPU$599.99$529.99 no stock112.78 BTC$571.79
Intel Core i3-2100 CPU$130.98$119.9926.24 BTC$133.04
Intel Core i7-3820 CPU$349.98$309.9962.54 BTC$317.08

As you can see, our prices are very competitive.  We might be a few bucks higher here and there, but on certain items we even beat them!

If you have bitcoin and you are in the market for buying some computer hardware, there really is no other better option.  The above BTC to $ conversions were done at $5.07/BTC which is the current rate.  If you wanted to purchase an item from Newegg.ca, let's say you wanted to buy the Seagate 2TB ST2000DL003 Hard Drive.  They want $119.99 for it.  Now with your bitcoins, if you sold them to cavirtex.com, at this moment the rate is $4.76/BTC to sell.  So it is going to cost you 25.21 BTC to get it, there are 0.59% conversion trade fee there and to withdrawal it's another $6 fee, so you're going to be in the 26-27 BTC range by the time you have the funds in your bank (which will take a few days) plus when you pay for the item at Newegg.ca, hopefully you can pay instantly somehow but if you need to pay via eCheck you will wait even longer.  At WTCR.ca, you can have your transaction paid for in a minute and save BTC in the process!

Another method would be to use canadianbitcoins.com.  Their sell rate right now is $4.37/BTC.  If you get paid via a TD payee there is a $2 fee, but if you want cash the fees range between $8 and $18 plus you have to wait for the snail mail delivery of your money, which by the time it arrives you could have already recieved your hard drive.  So $119.99 is going to cost you 27.46 BTC plus a minimum 0.45 BTC TD payee fee.

Bitegg.net (now Giftcoin.net) offers Newegg gift certificates, they offered Newegg.ca ones for the longest time but I guess they are no longer available, but they still do Newegg.com gift certificates.  For the sake of theory, their conversion rate is $4/BTC right now.  So a $119.99 gift cert is going to cost you 29.99 BTC.

Clearly WTCR.ca is the place to go for all your computer hardware needs.

If there is a price that is cheaper on another site, just give us a call at 1-204-272-2945 between 9AM and 6PM CST and we can work something out, we can probably give you a coupon code depending on the situation, on a case-by-case basis.

bump!

Yep - bump indeed.  Support Bitcoin businesses people!  If something is stopping you from making a purchase at WTCR, we want to hear what it is so we can improve.  Post here or msg myself or mc_lovin.  If you are interested in buying something computer / IT related and want to pay in Bitcoin, but we don't have it listed, e-mail us, we will quote with competitive pricing IN BITCOIN.

Cheesy

teek

The only thing stopping a purchase is the prices, TBH. Almost $200 for a 120GB Ocz Vertex 3 is really high, considering they regularly go on sale for CDN$120 even without MIRs.
That particular item is a tricky one.

The 120GB OCZ Vertex 3 is $199.99 on newegg.ca and it's $199.99 on newegg.com but there is a $65 off promotion right now.  We strive to have the lowest prices out there, but sometimes other retailers have promotions that are exclusive to that location.

Our website updates prices automatically, so if our costs go down on an item the prices will adjust.

This is making me want another SSD...  Prices are dropping so quickly, I can't wait until the TB's come down to HDD-like prices!  Smiley

Oooh do tell, can we have a sneak preview? What tech, IPv6? DNS tunneling? UDP?

It involves adding 150,000 new nodes to the bitcoin network each month,  and it is totally legal.
I've been doing bitcoin every waking moment for nearly a week straight in China.
I need to get some rest now,  but I will do a full write up with a post in the morning.

way to go Roger.  keep up the good work.
yup, this is really exciting for bitcoin!

you impress a room full of chinese people about bitcoin, and everyone in that room will tell a room full of people about it, and it'll spread like wildfire!

$35 bitcoin here we come! Cheesy

Why stationary? Just let's buy an old ship and let's run any profitable biz that we can conceive in international waters, from a casino to pirate hosting/no-tax commerce/weed shop/animal pr0n/SHTF resort/what have you.

You can add monkey knife fight to the list.

This is how I imagine our floating casino:

I am using Operation Fabulous, FeedZeBirds, BitcoinAdvertisers, DailyBitcoins, and AnonymousAds.

You're only missing CoinAd.com  Grin
Got the ad running there too now Smiley

You are also missing throughads.com -- looks very promising too.. though I  probably shouldn't advertise competitors Wink

there are no advertisers or publishers on throughads, that is a poor business proposition.
I just noticed them too, checked 'em out, looks promising but I think it needs more publishers first before it can reel in the traffic Smiley
