Adding more GPUs at this point would mean building another mining rig.

You can get another VGA on that board Wink

I wish we could.  We would need to upgrade our PSU and one of our 5970s is currently blocking the last open port to add another VGA.  The port it is plugged in to does not play well with risers.  I have tried several "tricks" to get it to be detected with a riser, but had no success.

I thought one of the advantages of this company was the extremely low power cost.
Low power cost is one of our advantages.  This will still be an advantage using BFL Singles.

Wouldn't is make sense to exploit that fact by buying cheap GPU instead of more expensive hardware noone knows the delivery date of?
Adding more GPUs at this point would mean building another mining rig.  I am not sure that is the right direction to be heading when FPGA mining is rapidly gaining popularity, difficulty is rising, and the block reward is set to be cut in 1/2 near the end of the year.  My vision is for MergedMining to grow to be the most diversified top quality mining company on the GLBSE and I do not think that solely "buying cheap GPU" is the way to fulfill that vision.  As for a delivery date, we should have our BFL Single before March 28th.

nice RSM and BTCSYN also received emails from BFL , i think another month before they send.

The race is on...  The question is, should we order a 2nd unit?

Please clarify that as the operator you will NEVER issue more shares without first receiving a shareholder request to put to a motion.
As long as he sticks to the "market price or larger than previous" there's not likely going to be dilution going on anyway.

Good point.
18406  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] M.ETF - The first Mining ETF listed on the GLBSE on: March 05, 2012, 05:43:55 PM
2 Questions:

1)  Will the fund require a shareholder vote to issue more shares?

2)  Will future issued shares be made at a premium, or will they be listed for sale at 0.25 BTC?
18407  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] M.ETF - The first Mining ETF listed on the GLBSE on: March 04, 2012, 07:27:47 PM
General holding information will be available upon request, but exact amounts of shares held will not be available for any company other then JLP-BMD.

I would be interested in buying shares if the current holdings were listed on this thread and updated with each dividend payment.  Listing average price paid and current gain/loss % would be icing on the cake.  A 5% cut of revenue is pretty high, give us some transparency.  Wink

Portfolio -

Ticker | Shares Held | Avg PPS | Price | Gain
JLP-BMD | 100 | 0.189 | 0.19489 | 3.12%
MergedMining | 100 | 0.15 | 0.16 | 6.67%

10:36 am Question: If it comes to real democracy, payment has to be peer-to-peer. Would you like to know about my technology called FairCash?

10:37 am Answer: Are you familiar with BitCoin? There are some issues with peer-to-peer money. In most cases it's illegal, besides that it's a great idea. We had our own proposal called Google Bucks, but we didn't want to get into these issues. Most of these systems will have regulatory issues.

NEWS:
I wanted to mention a couple things.  This morning someone hacked slush's mining pool and stole 3,000+ BTC.  Being that slush is a honorable legendary pool operator, he pledged to cover the stolen BTC with his own funds.  I would like to say THANK YOU to slush for his generous actions and would request that anyone willing to help slush recover some of these stolen funds donate to his collection efforts at the following BTC address: 18pmHDP5fx4A9Tpo69V1KEXWUQyK7EvT9C

Our password was immediately changed once this news broke, so this theft should have no effect on us whatsoever.

In other news, user JL421 has compiled a thread rating mining companies on the GLBSE.
He had this to say about our company:

MergedMining was the first company to implement the MergedMining technique, and it paid off. They started with a low dividend, and built up a reservoir of funds for dividend payouts. Since then, dividends have been growing, and have more room to run. OgNasty has proved to be a great operator, and it shows in every facet of how the company is managed. With the share price holding steady for a long time, you know your dividends will keep working for you at MergedMining...

Also, a couple of you have PM'd me with ideas for our website, MergedMining.bit.  I have implemented some of these ideas (changed color scheme, included a link to GLBSE, etc.) but would love to have these suggestions made in this thread so other shareholders can voice their opinions on the subject as well.  This thread will continue to be the #1 place to stay up to date with MergedMining activities, so if you are intimidated by .bit websites, don't worry, you aren't missing out on much at the moment a website proxy is now available.

Wow.  I'm sorry to read about this slush.

I'm covering all financial loss from my own money, to keep pool users out of this stupid issue.

I applaud you for covering this out of pocket.  Another demonstration of why I'm glad to be mining in your pool.

Well they have taken my money all I can do is hope they stick to their promise of six to eight weeks delivery as they stated.

I'm curious where this was stated, can you link me?  They were telling people 3-4 weeks last year for orders that still haven't been delivered.  You have read the various BFL threads and are aware of the delivery delays, right?  From reading over your thread, you make it sound like you'll have these units hashing away soon.  I hope you & your investors realize it could be several months before this equipment is received.
18420  Economy / Securities / Re: Red Star Mining IPO GLBSE Listing 3x'BFL Single' 2.5GH/s@450W on: March 01, 2012, 05:48:44 PM
nice hopefully we get it in 3 weeks

I'm hoping my order comes sometime soon as well.  Unfortunately, orders submitted in November of 2011 still haven't been delivered, so I wouldn't put too much faith in BFL Singles arriving for any recently submitted orders anytime soon.
