18481  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [project] api.loyce.club: crowdsourcing Bitcointalk data on: June 26, 2019, 07:17:15 PM
Can't follow all the changes anymore, but at least one versions seems to be working. Can you paste the code of the file here again?
I've copied each .php to .txt at http://api.loyce.club/crowdsourcing/ so you can read them.

Quote
I am not sure how you process all the data. Maybe you can tell us how exactly you get the data and how you are saving it into your .txt file.
This one is actually quite simple:
1. I download and extract https://bitcointalk.org/merit.txt.xz
2. I overwrite the last ~113 days in merit.all.txt with the new ~120 days
The format is the same as the forum's data dump, I only add historic records.
18482  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin Wallet & Seed Storage Question? on: June 26, 2019, 07:04:19 PM
O.K. so I think I'm starting to get it. With BIP39 I can only make my 24 word seed phrase from an existing 2048 word list? For instance, I could not have some of these words be in Spanish, French, or Italian? I did see how complicated it would be for a computer to crack the code with from your example but it seems to me computers are getting smarter every second and they'll eventually will be able to crack BIP39 security. Am I wrong?
You're wrong Tongue As long as it's generated at random, there's no way to crack it. Just to compare: Electrum by default uses a 12 word seed. That means there are 2048^12 times more possibilities to check.
For Electrum, lets assume 10 billion people each have 100 different seed phrases in use, and all 10 billion people have a computer that does 10 billion tries per second, then one of them may find one seed phrase from one person after a year.
And that's with just 12 words. So in short, you don't have to worry about this as long as you don't make a seed phrase by yourself.

Quote
Is it possible to get a wallet with a 10,000 wordlist or a 36 word passphrase?
That would increase the risk of making a mistake writing it down. And since it's very safe already, that's unnecessary.

Quote
I have another idea for generating a seed phrase. It just bugs me that if someone finds a Billfodl then they will immediately know that it is used to store a seed phrase.
I still haven't found a good solution for this problem: on the one hand, I don't want to rely on my memory, and on the other hand, I don't want to risk exposing a seed.
Just a thought: you can write it down anywhere you want: on the bottom of a door for instance, or use a metal punch to write it at the back of your safe. Just make sure you can't lose it.

Quote
Also, I am rethinking the idea of purchasing a safe. If I had a safe in my closet and a burglar broke into my apartment they would automatically know where the Ledger is. Since it is small it may be better to hide the Ledger in a inconspicuous place? It would be much harder for a thief to find. What's better, getting a safe for the Ledger or just hiding the Ledger somewhere?
Finding the Ledger shouldn't be much of a problem: the thief can try the PIN a few times, then it erases itself.
Note: I still don't have a hardware wallet, so haven't tested this by myself.

Quote
Also, since my critical information is the seed word, what should I do if someone stole the Ledger? I was thinking since I already bought a back-up Ledger Nano X, it might be better to not back up the second Ledger with the same seed phrase. I could just keep it new in the box and if anyone were to steal my original Ledger with Bitcoin on it I could activate the second Ledger and move my Bitcoin over from the first Ledger to the second Ledger before anyone tries to hack the first Ledger? Is this a good idea?
I'm not sure how many characterse long the PIN is, but the chance of a thief stealing your funds is quite small. The "wrench to the head scenario" where the thief forces you to share the PIN is probably more likely.

Quote
I know I keep asking questions but you're all so brilliant and I'm very insecure at this point
My suggestion: try it! Get a hardware wallet, secure the seed, deposit a small amount, try to recover it, and keep experimenting until you feel confident.

Quote
Everyone is saying I must get my Bitcoin off of Coinbase and I just want to have the most secure method of storing my Bitcoin. Thank you for your continued support.
You can also look at paper wallets. It has some pitfalls (most importantly: create it from a LIVE Linux DVD on a system without internet connection, and when you empty it you should use all funds at once). Here too: experiment a bit until you feel confident.

One more question about this forum? I hope my email is hidden in my profile. I would hate to have a hacker read this thread and have access to my email.
It's hidden.

Fourteenth week paid.
Received, clockwork as always!

Results:
This works: http://api.loyce.club/crowdsourcing/CryptoNeed_Initscri_tab.php?donor=35
This doesn't work: http://api.loyce.club/crowdsourcing/CryptoNeed_Initscri_tab.php?recipient=35

The one that works is quite slow to generate, I'm not sure how useful this is going to be for an API that loads data on many users.
18485  Other / Meta / Re: [LIST] Banned users on: June 26, 2019, 04:40:06 PM
I have a better plan (added to my Todo): I'll use my recent scraper, and remove any user who creates a new post. That should work for most unbanned users.
This is now implemented. It was a lot easier than I thought (sorry for waiting this long) Tongue

The details
1. Every day, I make a list of all users who made a post. I miss some, but scrape more than 99% of all posts.
2. I add all new bans from modlog to the Banned users list.
3. I remove all users who posted the previous day from the list.

This means that someone who posted yesterday and was banned today doesn't show up yet. Modlog shows data for the past 7 days, so this user will be added a day after he stopped posting.
If a ban is changed into a temporary ban, I can only know about it when the user can post again. He'll then be removed from the list at the next update.
18486  Economy / Reputation / Re: Merit abuse on: June 26, 2019, 12:38:55 PM
BOMG and First1by became Senior members in just 7 days (1/25/2018 - 1/31/2018).
I'm more interested in the fact that they didn't earn or send a single Merit after this! A quality poster usually has a continuous flow of Merit coming in.

Full Merit history (I would have posted the list here, but the Russian HTML doesn't work as BBCode, so see the source link):

18487  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [project] api.loyce.club: crowdsourcing Bitcointalk data on: June 26, 2019, 09:03:08 AM
Not quite sure as it runs on my local servers without problems.
I noticed that the URL actually is http://api.loyce.club/crowdsourcing/merit.all.txt. Try to change the $url variable in the script. ($url = "merit.all.txt"; should be enough because script and source data is stored in the same directory).
It was:
Code:
CryptoNeed.html:$url = "merit.all.txt";
CryptoNeed.php:$url = "http://loyce.club/Merit/merit.all.txt";
CryptoNeed2.php:$url = "http://loyce.club/Merit/merit.all.txt";
That location still exists. I've implemented your suggested changes, but the error is the same.

You have an error_log, feel free to shoot me a PM with the most recent error if you wish. I can take a look.
I've renamed it to error_log.txt, so you can click it.

Have you install or/and configure MySQL? It's definitely required to build API services.
My shared hosting:
Code:
Apache Version 2.4.39
PHP Version 5.6.40
MySQL Version 5.7.26-cll-lve
Architecture x86_64
Operating System linux

Idk if Loyce knows mysql. But he already doesn’t know PHP, so that would just complicate his life. Cheesy
I don't know either one Sad

Quote
I’ll give a shot on making the API.
Thanks Smiley

As far as I know he doesnt know SQL.
Correct.

Quote
I think he is putting all the data together file by hand.
Incorrect Tongue (I update 350,000 files per week now)

It seems that Loyce did not have uploaded the adjusted the code as under the given URL it is responsing with the old version.
I postponed it until I had a bit more time. I'll try the suggestions now.

I pm'd him an "updated" version to have forms at the html one, so that the loaded script doesn't appear totally empty.
I've uploaded it to http://api.loyce.club/crowdsourcing/CryptoNeed.html but it gives some errors. http://api.loyce.club/crowdsourcing/CryptoNeed3.php.
18488  Economy / Reputation / Re: DireWolfM14's Trust Setting and Tag Review on: June 26, 2019, 05:15:05 AM
It's obvious it's not really serious, but since you say you take it seriously, your feedback on satoshi could be improved. It says: My BTC for his PayPal, and he still hasn't charged back. Thanks!, which I highly doubt Tongue

But I'm just nitpicking, this is the only thing I noticed (on your first feedback page).
18489  Other / Meta / Re: Yobit spam on the forum on: June 26, 2019, 04:56:49 AM
I was on the original campaign...

Put my sig back up for 2 days;  no change on the yobit site, nothing.   fuck em.  They lost me as an advert.
As far as I know, Yobit's campaign is automated. Once you join and delete your signature, they remove you from the campaign.
If your signature was removed by theymos, that means Yobit kicked you out. If this is true, all former Yobit campaign participants can't join again. They played themselves Tongue
18490  Economy / Reputation / Re: Flagging accounts which are up to sale [DT member actions needed] on: June 25, 2019, 08:52:15 PM
The community isn't fully convinced it seems, I'll change the color of the trust rating from red to neutral explaining what happened.
I'd say there's reasonable doubt. It's not the first case I've seen recently in which an account was used by someone else without changing the password. That's probably to prevent the account from getting locked or recovered by the real owner.
18491  Economy / Reputation / Re: Flagging accounts which are up to sale [DT member actions needed] on: June 25, 2019, 07:56:22 PM
As I said, that proves nothing because of VPNs. I could do whatever you or anybody else here wants, there will always be somebody saying: "But this is still no evidence, do this and do that!" This will be a
never ending story. I'm the real zackie and this account is not for sale. Believe it or not, I don't care.
Have you checked https://bitcointalk.org/myips.php ? You have only 30 days to see the account thief's IP address.

Since NatashaOtomoski is a clear anagram of Satoshi Nakamoto, the only clear question is whey he used it?

The answer could be, you need to use the same algorithm on the solution.
Let's see:
SAT > gets reversed, stays in the same word, moves to the middle
OSHI > gets reversed, moves to the second word, moves to the end
NA > moves from second word to first word, same position
KA > moves to the first word, moves to the end
MOTO > gets reversed, stays in the same word, moves to the beginning
H and K > take each other's place

This could indeed be an algorithm, but it leaves a lot of possible ways to do this.

After 5 months, I'd really like it if someone takes the money and shows the solution. I like puzzles, but can't stand not knowing the solution Tongue

Screenshot of my received PMs: here and here.
After checking alice321's account, I can confirm the authenticity of these PMs.

LoyceV can serve as an external member. They can act as a proxy by creating lots of analytics threads and redirect the merit to our accounts.
That doesn't sound like something a member of Foxpup's Merit Cycling Club would do.

WTF is going on here? Mindtrust, remove your negative feedback. My account isn't for sale. And I also did not got hacked, but I'm going to change my password right now, just to be sure!
Is the PM in your outbox?

Check your IP log:
For now, I added this page where you can see your IP logs for the past 30 days: https://bitcointalk.org/myips.php . You could pretty easily write a userscript to periodically check this and warn you if it's weird. (But don't scrape it on every pageload.)

I don't want to make older IP logs automatically accessible because that'd give a hacker a bunch of useful/sensitive information. But 30 days is probably not too harmful.

I don’t think he needs to prove his innocence. The OP needs to prove guilt. He can report the PMs to a moderator who can authenticate the PMs.
I don't know that Admins would take the time to authenticate the PM's.
If bob123 gives me access to his throw away account alice321, I'll confirm the PM (if it's there Tongue ).

I have some old addresses from 2015 or even 2013 to sign.
It has to be an address posted in an unedited old post.

Question is, how these funds should be shared? Equally to every contributor or shares based on contribution? I can't find this in mexxer's thread.
From your own quote, that's up to "Lutpin, in coordiation with mexxer-2". Checking 1000+ posts will be a lot of work. I was surprised to see I made 14 posts in that thread (as it was my early days on this forum), but I don't need anything. I guess that goes for more users, and some are banned. This just looks like a loose end that should have been tied up years ago.

As a suggestion that's not much work: pick 10-20 random numbers from 1-1287, use that as the post number, and whoever posted that gets a share (if and only if their post contributed anything and they didn't get banned).
