They most likely refund at the end of the survey. It's legit and that's the important fact : respect customers change of mind if the delay for shipping was delayed to much.

Yeah my bad. Oct 11th ends the survey so  Oct 12th  would be logical.
18662  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Why its still worth mining ETH ( or other coins) for me on: October 07, 2018, 03:52:35 PM
There are many angles to mining at a loss.

I have 12x 1080ti's
I have  4x  56 vegas
I have  2x  1050ti
I have  1x  2080
I have  1x  rx560

I have a threadripper 1920x
I have a ryzen 2700x
I have a ryzen 1800x

This is paid off gear.

All still have 2 or more years warranty

I would say  together they burn 3600 watts

They are earning about 13 a day  before power

about 2600 kwatts.  my winter rates kicked in oct 1st  so they cost me about 260 usd  and pull in 300 -390 =  a 40 to 130 a month profit

Even if they were negative I would mine as I can spend 260 x 7 = 1820 in power from now to May 1.  So I will mine away  with those gpus  until May 1st.
18663  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Acorn M.2 FPGA based GPU Accelerator on: October 07, 2018, 03:38:46 PM
I have yet  to see my 2 paid for orders marked cancelled.

https://i.imgur.com/dAJ7RPP.png

In an attempt to be fair on my part I am making no comment against squirresresearch.

Just that the order has not been refund or marked cancelled.  or for that matter it has also not been shipped.

It is a holiday weekend so I do not expect to see any action until Tuesday or Wednesday.

I will post again then.
18664  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Why its still worth mining ETH ( or other coins) for me on: October 07, 2018, 01:16:30 PM
Mining at a small loss also works.

I do everything with reporting of taxes.

I was able to legally carry 2017 gains into 2018.

I can offset the gains if I have a small loss this year.

Say you made 10000 in 2017 and purchase gear late in the year.

The entire gain of 10000 can be sunk into inventory if you resell used gear.
You then sell the gpus at peak prices in Jan of 2018.  The gain is this year and you can offset with a mining loss.

why trust a newbie?

and

what does a 1080ti do?
what does a 2080  do?

1) I asked this to be moved to alt coins section
2) If you want to mine  make sure you have all cables you need.

3) two mobos are nice
4) two psus are nice

hard to trouble shoot with out extra stuff.

are you usa based?

Seems like a great unit. I am though waiting to see what Bitmain will come out with. 7nm, should be impressive.

or not..

many of their chips are not the leaders in efficiency .

They sell cheap gear cheap prices  been this way for a while in btc miners.

The thing is  if they put out a 30th at 2400 watts and sell it at  800-1000 it kills off everyone.
18671  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Gauging interest BCU-1525 FPGA miner on: October 06, 2018, 08:58:35 PM
Hi,

I would like to sell one Mineority BCU-1525 miner with the passively cooled option.

I believe it's due 10/19 via Fedex. I would open the box to check contents.

BTC, escrow via Philipma1957.

US only.

I was contacted by 64d.... and will escrow.

nice thing is you won't need to wait months like many did do.

My suggestion is ask to him what premium he wants for it.

18672  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: How about a solar power source for pop one price mining on: October 06, 2018, 08:55:00 PM
my roof slants to the east on the back and to the west on the front - the house is lined up with one end facing south and the other end facing north. the only angle they have is to the east or west based on pitch of the roof. as close as they are together, can they angle them to the south? or would they need to space them out more? I would think that to optimize the opportunity - even if for a few hours each day for it to reach its full potential. So far, they are still stone walling me - but maybe move 4 panels from the 7.7 to bring it down to 27 panels - move those 4 over to the 3.8 inverter bringing that one to 10 panels and then ask for three more to bring it to 13?

like I said there are specific string patterns when you wire panels and since there are a lot of panels involved across two inverters I can not tell you what is optimum .  Also I am a knowledgeble but not licensed to do the work.

They did cheat you with just the 7.7 kwatt inverter installed

They added the 3.8 kwatt inverter  and 5 panels at 295 = 1455

They should add more panels to the  3.8 kwatt inverter.

Tell you cheated me at first as 7.7 kwatt inverter was too small

and while you gave me a 3.8 kwatt inverter later you only gave me  5 panels with a total of 1455 watts.

I should get at leas 5 more panels or I will have to get a lawyer.

It is worth a shot.  Tell them I don want to have to do face book and youtube attacks over 5 more panels.  bottom line is you did cheat with the 7.7kwatt inverter it was too small.  How many of the 400 installs did you do like that?  I don't want trouble and I don't want to be an a-hole
but I am not the company that put in only a 7.7kwatt inverter  .

Tell them You took a shot you got caught by me a simple fix is 5 or 6 or 7 more panels.

try 7 panels then drop a little . fact is they did not put in a proper inverter 7.7kwatts was to small.

the 3.8 is a good fix but it needs more then the 5 panels they added.
18673  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: All sold off. Used T1 dragon mint , used s9 , used A3 etc. on: October 06, 2018, 07:31:45 PM
Sold all but the A3.
18674  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: How about a solar power source for pop one price mining on: October 06, 2018, 06:12:54 PM
yeah  I  read that  7.7 can do a max of  8100 watts  in and it sends a max of  7700 x .975 =

7500  or 7.5 kwatts  which was the most it could do   at say 12 noon to 1 pm on a bright sunny day if and only if you roof allows for the perfect tilt say 30 degrees and faces south .

So they lied a lot  when then set it up with   only the 7.7 kwatt inverter

now they added a 3.8 kwatt and some panels.

but I have no idea of the way the panels are wired i really they should have under 7700/295  =26.1 or 27 panels

and 3800/295 = 12.88 or 13 panels

but panels have specific dc volts so  a string of  7 works but a string of 8 does not

I also don't know how they tied the  2 inverters together .

but to me they certainly tried cheating you when they only put in a 7.7kwatt inverter.

they tried fixing it adding on. Ask for more panels  to the 3.8  see what they say.

Some people believe Ethereum price will rise back to late 2017 levels again and continue mining because of this belief.
So it is up to them to spend more then what they are getting now in actual amounts at current price.

It is a type of fictional euphoria to them in allowing their current mining systems to continue to run while at a loss.
It is their money not yours so they can do what they want with themselves.

I dont believe people will spend $5 dollars of electric to get $3 dollars worth of coins when you can just buy on exchange and get the the full $5 dollars worth of coins.

I think we need to stop that assumption.

Duh kyc stops many from buying coins.

Many want clean hidden coins and will mine at a loss to get them.

I am giving you this example.  Drug dealer in South America makes 100,000 usd a day.

Money is not very clean.  He sets up a mine in the state of Washington USA .

It generates 50000 in coin a day but costs 55000 to do so.
So he loses 5000 a day. The reality is. For 5000 a day he turns 50000 in drug money to 50000 in mining money.

No more complicated then this.

Myself I have 4 x Vega 56s
I have 12x 1080ti
I have  1 x 2080
I have 2x 1050ti
I have 1x rx 560

I mine them at close to breakeven + 5% to a core wallet which means they are private for now.

This is actually a really good take on it hehe

Which cards to you prefer the most out of the ones you've got ?

i'm running RX 480 8GB at the moment, which are making a profit.
my Favorit  was always the R9 290, i got 5 rigs with 4 R9 290x still in use, however i've actually rented out the rigs (for free) to some local garages as "heaters" Smiley THEY get the heat and i get the eth Smiley
i miss the old R9 290x, they were so powerful and could mange almost anything

well if the gear is paid off which mine are.  1080ti's with eth pill are good  the evga hybrid's  do 50 mh on eth  run quiet and have 2 years left on 3 year warranties.
18676  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] [EU] AvalonMiner 851, controller gear, power supply. on: October 05, 2018, 11:10:57 PM
I'm also open for offers.

I need to start selling most of my gear,
since I am moving to the southern Finland.
I got a project engineer vacancy there and I have signed the contract.

Nice I hope you like the change...  What was the old city you were in and what is the new city you will be in?
18677  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Strange Issue with Z9-mini on: October 05, 2018, 10:04:52 PM
"antminer Hardware Version Socket connect failed: Connection refused"

This isnt an error per se...this just means the miner executable wasnt running, therefore the console could not query its status. I think to figure out what happened you would have had to dive in a little deeper while the problem was present. SSH in, run network diagnostics from there and not the web page, etc.

Do you have a backup pool set? Maybe your pool went down for a bit?

Sometimes a higher quality ETH cable fixes this.

Hmm im not sure what to do here, tilting to getting my refund, primary because no info were ever given, there was some discord links but they were expired and i dont have all day long to go pursue where the info is, it should have been here.
I know there is good people behind this project but im not sure they are ready for what they are trying todo.

EDIT: No info on website for all the waiting customers, still listing lyrarev2 even though its asiced and is not a selling point anymore, yeah well doesnt look good.

Well last USA company for mining I used was zen gaw a disaster

And the one before that was BFL another disaster .

I am not saying this company is an intentional fraud like those two were.

I am saying I am tired of waiting and I have yet to see a two minute movie of one of them running on a coin.

I am hoping to be paid the refund in under two weeks. But if I am honest I don’t expect a faster refund.

I got a lot of attacks on my posts here and on discord.  So rather the waste time I bailed.

Btw still wasting time since I am posting here😀
