you know dodge is the king of volatility, when I get more training get more into the dodge

Question: is there a place in the USA where one could by dodge for fiat, like a Coinbase for dodge?

1882  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I Struck GOLD! on: March 21, 2014, 12:30:58 AM
congratulations for making a profit and sticking with it.  I hope you decided to play it safe of take some profit of the table or cover your rear and and take less risk.  Cheers to you and keep it up.

I was just trying to do my part to stop the hemorrhage. it has a special place in my heart, but my brain isn't letting it get to the wallet again for a while.

Congratulations on your golden profits!

I understand that Goldcoin (GLD) will be releasing a new multi-threaded, multi-platform java client this spring which is sure to get a lot of attention.

well all of that went over my head, but I'm sure it's a good thing.   Smiley

We got to watch for  WDC or GLD 1 of those scrypt will explode.......way too many, they are fast, good names  and cheap to invest on.

I know this much about mining .000000000123, what do you mean but 'explode'?  in a good way or bad way?

I was looking for the current cryptsy sucks thread and was not disappointed.

I attempted to transfer 1500 DOGE to them over 5 hrs ago. Tx is confirmed on chain. Their response was "Please give it 24hours for
deposit to show due to high volume of deposits."

24 hrs? Damn.

I like Cryptsy, but they are clearly trying to serve too many people at the same time.   Their system is clearly overloaded, this is what happens when something major occurs, the major thing today being BTC entering the $500+ zone.

But thanks for the info, I know not to transfer any CC at this time.

Sorry about the delay bro, rest assured more exchanges are on their way.

I read in bloomberg news someone purchased a 800,000 villa in BTC maybe they're dumping the coins  Grin.

Yeah, but the beauty of BTC is that person can't just turn around and print more of it to replenish what was spent.

BTC is controlled by consensus, meaning if the community decided to make more then more could be made, if the community decided to fork the funds that left gox and let all of the holders of said funds account for how they got it then be reincluded then that too could be done.

Alternatively, one could always create their own coin.  soooo many options

easy peezy

The value would nosedive if they do anything of the sort.  I for one, wouldn't be interested.  It would be no better than fiat paper.

eh, uhm, the value HAS nosedived, and the nose dive is directly related to the irresponsible manor in which the whole Gox matter is being handled internally (within the BTC community).

Every time an exchange is robbed if we have the tools, via the blockchain, to not only remove the value of the stolen funds but also to catch the thief that is a responsible thing to do.  That is the proper way to maintain a cryptocurrency system.  Not to simply allow the thief to get away with the spoils and 'decentralize' the loss by spreading it to everyone else by way of diminished value.

The BTC rate didn't go down in any fast way, it was measured, which means it is real, not a negative response to media hype.

Those who steal must be stopped and punished internally, that deincentives bad deeds, when you take responsible drastic actions to correct wrongs it stabilizes the environment.

Stability is what brings about reliability, without security even a perfect plan has no chance.

Nobody could "forks the funds that left gox" because nobody knows what funds left Gox and when. And nobody even knows IF funds left Gox ...

ABSOLUTELY incorrect, we found much of the funds:  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=492776.0;topicseen
1887  Economy / Speculation / Re: The $500+ Bitcoin Is Back ... (HAPPY?) on: March 20, 2014, 10:53:22 PM
Doesn't it confirm that bitcoin is volatile ! And this is not a surprise to anyone who has at least basci knowledges about BTC!

In my book BTC isn't volatile, it's just unstable -- a lower degree of volatility.

When I refer to volatility for a cryptocurrency I envision the CC's performance chart looking like an EKG scan when the person being monitored is excited.
1888  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: From BTC 2 LTC 2 AUR on: March 20, 2014, 10:21:27 PM
There is a lot of action coming from Auroracoin in the next days

the airdrop is really near ,block 5400 is also getting closer and the Icelandic government and media are starting to talk about it.

I think im going to sit on my stack until the winds will calm. maybe, one day, even buy a house Reykjavik  Wink

if you learned anything from btc, it is 'sitting on a cryptocurrency' is not wise, far too many things can happen to it

what's that "airdrop" thing you are talking about?

Sitting on cryptocurrency is exactly how I was able to start my business now without taking loans from the banks and ect..
Its all about Paitance

The idea of Auroracoin is to give for free for every Icelandic citizen some AUR coins so they will start to use it instead of the highly inflated Krona they use now. in four days each one of them will be able to claim their birthright coins

Wow, I'm glad I could participate in some way to the reempowerment of the people of your country.

Now I know why you held coin, because your fiat was bleeding you.   That would be a good beginning strategy but know that your national fiat is also a vital part of your national culture, so I would strongly advise you to take a measured approach to how you view cryptocurrency as well as your national fiat.

I remember a 60mins feature story that showed how residents of your country went overboard on spending, which probably had a lot to do with the nation's fiat problems.

Always nice to see people making profits and sharing there experiences on the boards.  I have yet to do a read up on AUR but I hope it makes many people profits for a long time to come.

I too would love to see more people sharing all of their experiences so that the market could make more intelligent decisions based on practical actual experiences.

Everyone's write ups are basically the same -- 'we are the unique in this way and that way, and this is why we will be the next btc'.  It's a must for one's due diligence as well as for the coin's media hype.

Yes buy a premined coin. Great decision making your the Buffett.

I don't care if there was a 100% premine, and if the developer put ALL of the money is his own pocket, in fact I don't even care what the price of the coin is; here's what I care about VOLATILITY because that is how I make money.

1889  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Cryptsy, Would You Please Fix Auroracoin on: March 20, 2014, 10:14:43 PM
Cryptsy, for the past 2 hours I've been unable to buy Auroracoin at your site, the trades are not in sync, it's so frustrating not being able to buy or sell manually (the auto trades are working), given the volume crash it looks like many others are suffering the same problem.

Talk to me, please.
1890  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / I Struck GOLD! on: March 20, 2014, 09:51:54 PM
Was introduced to BTC by way of GLD, so after seeing it take one of the most nasty nose dives on CC history I decided to stop it with some serious infusion, I saw it as a learning tax (didn't think I would see any profit from it). to my surprise it just turned a profit -- I struck gold with GLD -- hot dog.

I would have more confidence in it if the prices rises were slow and sustained, rather than brief spikes.

that's likely an indication of singular action, or worse concerted action, either way it is not indicative of diversified activity.

that's what happens when a coin, any coin has a large dependency on hype, hype moves people, but when you have too much hype people get numb to it, and realize that they are being played.

Btc was the first to do it and so everyone else simply borrowed from the play book.

If you don't do it you will not get the necessary running start needed for lift off.   Over time everyone finds their place they simply need to keep moving forward.

Sadly, after they make it to an exchange they think the show is over, but what they should do is to give it a practical application.
1894  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: $500+ BTC Flattens Alternate Universe on: March 20, 2014, 03:09:13 PM
not enough new bitcoin investors to support all the alts, new investors have learned that most alts have no future., markets flooded with shitcoins, its that simple

Who invest's in everything?  There are millions of different women for millions of different men, you checkout a few before you make a long-term commitment.

As long as I was making a profit with btc, I was comfortable right there, but as soon as my $687 btc stayed stagnent then headed south I had to find another vehicle to gem me back to profitville, that's when I turned to LTC, but as you probably saw it was on an everlasting upward climb as btc was on the opposite trend, clearly everyone moved from btc to ltc.

well not wanting to get stung again, I exited the happy ride early so that I could keep the goodies, then went to AUR where I was just overjoyed by the volatility but that was the last two days.  Now that BTC is in the $500 range again, everyone is running or preparing to run back to it, I'm in no hurry because I see far more profit potential in the highly volatile alts.    Problem is there is no volitility if no one is there -- booooo ... oh well  Cry

1895  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Hold On To Your Vertcoin Hats ... on: March 20, 2014, 02:58:35 PM

nice video,  clearly a promo vid for Vertcoin, sorry it took such a beating recently, noticed when it first started how people were tripping over one another to get some, oh well.

I'll buy some soon, but I'll wait for it to come down to earth first.

As soon as BTC hit into $500+ land, ALL OF THE MONEY WAS SUCKED RIGHT OUT OF THE ALTS.  wow. as if the markets went on strike, I can't believe how flat they are.

what are you experiencing?

sweet interview, NOTICE when he got into bitcoin only a month now

Price is down because of the block chain.info issues.
Will soon correct itself. I see 10%+ upside over the next month.

huh, if it's a block chain issue, how will it correct itself?

Well this is what you were looking for, now that it's here are you about to sink a ton into it, or wait for it to drop further into the low $500+s; perhaps even eyeing for the $400+ range?
