This seems like a cool application.  I'll have to give it a try in the coming days.
18822  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ron Paul's Presidential Campaign Now Accepts Bitcoins on: July 27, 2011, 12:24:39 AM
Please describe the difference between a "sort-of bundler" and a straw donor.
They're complete opposites.

A straw donor gives a small donation for which they are reimbursed by another person. The idea is to conceal the true source of the donation and it only makes sense if the actual donor could not donate for some reason. The straw donor makes possible a donation that would otherwise be illegal (and hence still is). The point of straw donors is that you have a lot of them, allowing one person to make an otherwise illegal large donation.

A bundler or "sort-of bundler" collects many small donations from a number of donors and bundles them into one large donation. The idea is to save the campaign from the hassle of collecting a large number of small donations. A bundler simply makes it more convenient for a large number of people to donate to a campaign. The point of a bundler is that you have few of them, allowing many people to make legal small donations efficiently.

Assuming it would be lawful for me to cash in my bitcoins myself and give the money to Ron Paul, it should be legal for me to employ TradeHill to do it for me. Note that I say "should be". Election law is a very complex beast.

So you're implying that TradeHill will be verifying that all bitcoin donations are coming from US Citizens?
18823  Economy / Marketplace / [POLL] TradeHill Lying About Bitcoin Affiliation With Ron Paul. Your opinion? on: July 26, 2011, 11:44:43 PM
Just wondering what people's opinions were of the below linked thread.

Ron Paul's Presidential Campaign Now Accepts Bitcoins through Tradehill!

From Ron Paul's website - "Bitcoins...are not accepted by the campaign."

Bad TradeHole. Trying to act like Ron Paul would accept Bitcoins through your site.  He is in no way affiliated with you and stated that he doesn't accept Bitcoins.

"Ron Paul's Presidential Campaign Now Accepts Bitcoins through Tradehill!"

That quote is not in any way true.  Shame on you.  I'm a Ron Paul supporter, but I won't be using your exchange because doing things like this shows that you can't be trusted.

Here, for instance, you can choose a password such as '1234'

"1-2-3-4-5? That's the stupidest combination I've ever heard of in my life! That's the kinda thing an idiot would have on his luggage!"

18826  Economy / Goods / Re: [Selling] Ruxum Invites (0.05 BTC) on: July 26, 2011, 07:51:36 PM
Is there any advantage to getting invited now as opposed to waiting until the site goes live?  Free trades for life? etc...

18831  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: howto: start mining software with CPU affinity (Win only) to avoid "core eating" on: July 24, 2011, 03:29:53 AM
This worked well for me but I lose the ability to use the "title" command, so now I am not sure which window is which miner.  Not a big deal, but if anybody has a solution, let me know.

18834  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Did I just see a spy drop? on: July 21, 2011, 09:16:14 PM
An operator would place the drop then leave a chalk mark or some sign. The receiver would arrive much later, after a period of observation.

If it was government, he wouldn't have seen it.  A van would have driven by someone sitting on a bench and information would have been passed electronically and wirelessly without anyone ever seeing a thing.   Wink

Natural Selection.
18837  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Did I just see a spy drop? on: July 21, 2011, 05:03:33 PM
So I had to run some errands today, when I saw a person at a bench outside the mall toss a fast food bag out of a car at a trash can. Nothing out of the normal. But then a woman with a Macys bag walks over, and picks up the bag. Now Im thinking "Good on you lady for tossing that into the......bag in your other hand." The whole thing she never lost track of looking right in front of her. She never turned back, just kept walking to the edge of the mall and made a turn.
I always know when something is not right with situations and I think I saw one today. Considring that 90% of the people around here work for Nortrop, Raytheon, JPL. USAF, I am really starting to wounder if I should say something. and to who. and why?

This is a typical method of selling ecstasy.  X dealers love malls because everyone is carrying bags and there are a lot of people around so robbery is less likely.  Weed or Coke buyers tend to want to see or taste the product first, so they don't normally deal like this.

You just saw a large ecstacy deal.
18838  Economy / Goods / Re: Selling prebuilt mining rigs with 1yr warranty - Lower Prices Doubled MHash/sec! on: July 21, 2011, 04:56:21 PM
Looking at the 1gh/sec offering. You offer the service for 3 months which equates about 750 dollar income. This calculation of income doesn't consider difficulty increase every 2 weeks or so. Now looking at that alone how do you expect the leaser to make anything? While your charging 1350? Unless there's more to this and that I'm missing something here.

You aren't missing anything.  For that price you could build your own machine that's capable of getting more mh/sec.  Not that I'd ever buy a mining contract, but at 1gh/sec for 3 months I couldn't see anyone paying over $500.  Maybe I'm missing something.   Roll Eyes
