After researching all the available options, I decided to go with your pool.  Proud to support your homegrown operation.  Rest assured that your sleepless nights are helping out cool people.

Anyone interested?  The best offer I've gotten so far is 0.29 BTC...
18943  Other / Obsolete (selling) / [SOLD] DiRT 3 DOWNLOAD CODE - 1 BTC on: June 16, 2011, 06:14:22 PM
I got 2 free downloads of DiRT 3 with my last Newegg order (2-6870's) and wanted to sell one of them.  I can send you a picture if necessary to prove that I have the item.  PM me if you're interested and willing to part with a BTC for the game.
18944  Other / Obsolete (selling) / Re: [SOLD] DiRT 3 and Shogun 2 Steam download codes [SOLD] on: June 16, 2011, 06:05:28 PM
I also have a DiRT 3 download code that I received with my last Newegg order.  I actually have 2 of them, but will most likely keep 1 for myself.  I'll trade it for 1 BTC.

Awesome site.  I'll be spreading the word and using it to make a purchase just as soon as I have enough bitcoins saved up to get something substantial.  I also like that newegg is an option in addition to Amazon.

30% discount to the daily low in order to book a reservation?  Why would anyone do this as opposed to selling the coins and paying in cash?

18948  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: All 5850, 5830, are out. What is your guess on the next best GPU? on: June 10, 2011, 05:28:15 PM
newegg.com is the only place I was able to even find a card for under $200 with decent hash rates.  Good luck.  I put in orders with several different sites only to have them cancelled days later.  I finally gave up and paid the price to get it from newegg.  They won't last long.  Even all the local computer stores are sold out... This is ridiculous. Once everyone puts all these video cards that have recently been ordered to work, the bitcoin is going to have it's first value test.  Thousands of miner/sellers are about to hit the network in the next week...
18949  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: 2x 6870 - what are your settings? on: June 10, 2011, 05:14:53 AM
300Mhash/s per card seems about right to me. Are they hooked up with CrossfireX or a dummy plug?
18950  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: CPU Only Pool Mining Software? on: June 05, 2011, 05:57:34 PM
Thanks for the help.  I got it working but I can't figure out how to limit the Khash/s.  I'm currently only getting around 900Khash/s which is actually close to maxing out my CPU (it's a SINGLE core).  I'd like to limit that to about 400Khash/s if possible.  I'm using a very old server machine that is on 24/7 anyway, but don't want her working so hard.  :-)

Once I actually get a bitcoin and can trade it so I get setup and figure this all out, I'll slap a new rig together for it.

I worry that my old server machine hasn't worked so hard in a long time.  Should I be worried that it'll burn itself out running at full speed 24/7?

CAN I USE -threads=0.5 or some other way to limit the Khash/s?

All of them?

Even poclbm will mine with a normal CPU on a pool.

ufasofts is another popular one that will mine against a pool CPU-only.

What is the most popular software for this?  Everything I looked at said it required OpenCL I thought... Am I mistaken?

If you're thinking buying mining hardware, read this first

Good read.  Thanks.

18955  Bitcoin / Mining / CPU Only Pool Mining Software? on: June 05, 2011, 05:09:02 AM
Is there software for pool mining that works with GPUs that don't have OpenCL support (or CPU only)?
18956  Bitcoin / Mining / Can you stuff a new video card in an ancient machine? on: June 05, 2011, 01:25:43 AM
I have a 6 year old 2.4ghz single core Dell computer.  Could I stuff a XFX ATI Radeon HD5830 in it without needing to buy anything else, or would I need additional parts?
18957  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Massive Influx of New Miners on: June 05, 2011, 12:47:27 AM
I'm planning on upgrading my machine anyway, I was just going to wait until November.  If it would make more sense to upgrade now and do this for a few months, I'm on it.

My question is for anyone who is actually mining and selling these bitcoins.  How much $ would you expect to get out of a $250 GPU per month?

I love the idea of bitcoins.  I'm interested in selling something so I can get signed up with exchanges and see how difficult it is to actually trade the coins.  Thanks again for the quick answers.  This is a great community (I'm going to search it and answer my questions now so I don't look like such a newb).
18958  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Massive Influx of New Miners on: June 05, 2011, 12:31:50 AM
There was an article published about it on Yahoo.  I signed up to check it out.  My old computer is getting 900KHash/sec right now.  lol

I'm considering upgrading and giving this bitcoin thing a go.  Question: How much could a guy expect to make mining in a pool with a new $1,000 machine (purchased wisely)?
