whoa!! i couldn't even have dreamed of a cooler device!!

if it transmits wirelessly it'll probably get hacked pretty darn quick, but i guess if this card is advanced enough to change the firmware that could be fixed..

Stole this from [H]ard|OCP:

Windows XP support for the AMD Radeon HD 7900 Series, AMD Radeon HD 7800, and AMD Radeon HD 7700 Series

   - In addition to Windows 7 and Windows Vista support, Catalyst 12.4 now also introduces Windows XP (64-bit/32-bit) support for the AMD Radeon HD 7900, AMD Radeon HD 7800, and AMD Radeon HD 7700 Series

Super Sampling Anti-Aliasing: Level of Detail (LOD) Image Quality enhancements:

   - Supported on the AMD Radeon HD 7900, AMD Radeon HD 7800, and AMD Radeon HD 7700 Series

   - LOD Image quality enhancements for Super Sample Anti-Aliasing and Adaptive Anti-Aliasing through the AMD Catalyst™ Control Center for DirectX® 10 and DirectX® 11 applications.

   - Applications must support in game Anti-Aliasing for the feature to work (Forced on Anti-Aliasing through the Catalyst Control Center is not supported for DirectX 10 and DirectX 11 applications)

Morphological Anti-Aliasing (MLAA): Significant performance enhancements:

   - Supported on the AMD Radeon HD 7900, AMD Radeon HD 7800, AMD Radeon HD 7700 Series, AMD Radeon HD 6000 Series, and AMD Radeon HD 5000 Series

   - MLAA now operates up to 80% faster than previous versions

Texture filtering quality improvements:

   - Supported on the AMD Radeon HD 7900, AMD Radeon HD 7800, and AMD Radeon HD 7700 Series

   - Improvements have been made to the texture filtering algorithm (for both DirectX9 and DirectX10/DirectX11 applications) to increase the quality of rendered textures, with no impact to performance

I was having trouble with the driver, in fact after I installed it, my hashrates went down the shitter, and then uninstalling/reinstalling 12.4 was the exact same.  Uninstalling and reinstalling 12.1/12.2/12.3 was possible but OpenCL would absolutely NOT work for me.  Extremely frustrated, I googled around, and found a way to entirely flush AMD Catalyst drivers from you system.

Guide: http://www.bitcointrading.com/forum/index.php?topic=493.0

I just installed 12.2 again and everything is working fine, I can probably test out the CPU usage now but I'm just going to leave this thing mining for a day or so and not mess with it!

Quick question, in the Diablominer window, what is the MH/s display?  There is two values.  I have two cards, but I doubt I am breaking any records here so I assume something is not working quite right.  Using the new 12.4 driver, and even 12.2, 12.3, the display looks the same.

I checked the first couple pages and the last couple pages of this thread, and your wiki, and it doesn't give any indication.

Its on the op post. Left is 15 second average, right is forever average.

I still can't find it in the OP, but knowing the answer, I'm satisfied!  Thanks a bunch! Cheesy

Edit: and I fixed my low hashrate problem Smiley  yayyy!!

Many years ago when I wanted to learn HTML I used this site:

It's designed to each children how to code, so it's explained in the absolute simplest terms and it gave me a great stepping stone to learn more advanced things later on.

1912  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Anyone have a quick solution to the Xauthority/INVALID_MAGIC_COOKIE BAMT error? on: April 25, 2012, 06:48:06 PM

I think something odd is going on... I haven't heard of other folks having this issue, and I'd think I would have if its happening so often.

Are you using the latest image (0.5c)?  You might want to grab a fresh copy even if so.

Are you applying the fixes?  Try applying all, then rebooting (just ignore the Xauth error if you see one).  Does the problem go away?

Edit--- some other thoughts enter my head...

How quickly after power up are you doing this?  The setup scripts have some delays to let X get loaded, and only at the end do they arrange the xauth stuff and make ssh work properly.  Slow USB keys can make this time even longer.   If you are jumping in before these run, you'll get bad results.

Second... why not just get it to work once, and then copy that key back to whatever PC you are using to write the stock image.  Now make all future images from that new image.

Third.. how often are you reinstalling that this is actually an issue? Smiley

I am grabbing the latest image, fixes, etc..  and I'm not sure exactly what is causing the issue, it's just we have a dozen miners and sometimes after adding a card or if a fan dies, we swap it out and then upon reboot we *sometimes* get the MAGIC COOKIE error.  Or if there is a monitor connected to the machine and it is disconnected, X freaks out and the miner will disappear, but it's not an overly huge problem because BAMT is so easy to configure that if we do encounter the problem, I just format a fresh BAMT usb again and it might work the 2nd try.

I did not know we can copy the key to other systems, that's a good idea.

It might have something to do with SSHing in before the system is ready for me, I have a tendancy to jump in right away.

Right now everything is running 100% using BAMT with the exception of the 7970s being not compatible (my boss is going to give the 30BTC pledge for compatibility shortly).

Why don't they give you a 7950, that would be fair IMHO.
1915  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / 7970 linux (xubuntu) guide please! on: April 24, 2012, 07:07:34 PM
Hey peoples!

I need a guide on how to get two 7970s mining under ubuntu/xubuntu...  There are a few guides out right now but they don't really work, or something is missing, they are untested, and I'm having a lot of trouble with it.

Pleeaaasee point me in the right direction!

I LOVE the idea of a huge game company accepting bitcoin, but I doubt EVE is going to listen to us.

We can, however, buy EVE game cards with bitcoin at this site: http://bitcoincodes.com/index.php?unit=store&op=browse&cat=7
