I think you may add hashocean to ended ponzi list

Hashocean collapsed from 6 hours from now, cloudfare ngx error when you try to reach their website, also the Youtube video has been removed , and this is the end of the most running ponzi in bitcoin history, you can surely add Hashocean to the collapsed ponzies list.

Quite possibly, but as Mr. Wolf says in Pulp Fiction
Quote
Well, let's not start sucking each other's dicks quite yet.

There is the possibility that it will continue to resemble scrpyt.cc more and more and return in some mutated form, as its contact/contract list has value to be sold on to other scammers.
Then we shall be able to add "hashtard" to "scryptard" in the Crytpo lexicon.

Hello,
They say eobot is ponzi 6/7 but eobot has been paying me for over 2 years and eobot already excists for almost 4 years.
Has been paying me and alot of other people so im just wondering

What are you wondering?
If it's 'why 6/7?' that's very simple, go back to the check list at the beginning of the thread and tick them off yourself, pretty simple.
Many people here say they get paid for a while, then returns drop to dust.
IF you have been paid out for over two years, human nature says you won't take any notice of what anyone says, you'll just rationalize and stay in till the end.
Up to you.

you really need to do some digging into who runs them.

Who are you then?

Because, aside from pretending that Genesis mining's farm is in fact yours, you really talk outta your ass too

If the bitcoin price returns to the sub 2015 rate we saw for a prolonged period this will spell further disaster for the larger players in the market,  The price would need to be steady around the $800 mark for some of the larger players out there to continue to make ROI over COST,

1904  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cloud Mining - Need some tips? on: June 24, 2016, 04:36:30 PM
What's the most trustful cloud mining site out that has cheap prices and can produce a lot of money?

There isn't one.
Why do you think there would be?
Why would anyone who could mine profitably share those profits with you?

You won't pay any attention to what people say in this thread (unless they come up with another scam that tempts you more than HO), you will put your money into these schemes because they are "very tempting" and you will continue to do so until you lose it all.
Invest, sit, earn? The world owes you a living?
lol.

The soft fork has to be implemented to freeze the stolen funds. then the society can determine when/whether to implement the hard fork.

The miners are deciding at the moment. I think they will make the decision best for the community and the future.

They will vote according to their own narrow interests.
Turkeys don't vote for Christmas.

Just to get some crappy scam sites into the search system, the following all rate solid 7/7 as ponzi "cloudmining" scams

bitstrategy.net/

coinhash.net/

bitcoremining.com/

sky-hash.com/

gigahash.org/

and the brilliantly named

scurmrr.com/

B16 hash investment agreement will last for the life of the miners which are designed to perform for 24 months. The B16 hash investment will terminate automatically when the average mining income can not bear the electricity fee for consecutive ten days.

found it...   Undecided

They're currently showing 18.5% earning/electricity ratio on B16 and also strongly implying that they are mining with their new 14nm gear, so if you want to cloud mine this close to the halving they probably look as good a bet as anything.

1911  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Would like to know if anyone has heard of BitClub Network on: June 22, 2016, 07:52:14 AM
There are occasional referral shill posts made on this dead thread which are deleted as spam.
I started a thread documenting BCN from a skeptical point of view, which I update on an ongoing basis with information I receive from disillusioned members and other sources, which you may find helpful.

The Tl,dr is basically

MLM comes to Bitcoin, in the shape of a possibly Romanian based pyramid scheme which is heavily promoted in conventional MLM style by an assortment of professional pimps with a long history of pumping crap schemes for referral commissions.

Large numbers of contracts are sold with the sales pitch of "Don't miss out on the new thing, Bitcoin, give us your money and get rich".

BitClubPool is started and mining is being done. It is assumed that the equipment has been bought from the $m's raised from non crypto savvy "investors".

Many grand promises are made including the launch of Clubcoin, merchant acceptance, ATM's, future purchase of cutting edge technology etc. none of which have materialized.

MLM schemes heavily use social media to reach gullible noobs and also take advantage of the "delete" button when awkward questions are asked, but direct feedback indicates plummeting ROI's for the locked in investors.

BCN withdraws from the US market, probably because of the threat of legal action for unregistered securities offerings being brought against the identifiably US based promoters.

BCP stats indicate around 40 P/hs of mining (including that for third parties) being done and yielding an average of around 4 blocks per day.
100 BTC is no chump change, but after overhead and the huge cost of the referral matrix, taking into account the unlimited number of contract sales that have been made and the approach of the halving, it's my view that Bitclub Network resembles a huge fraction activity Ponzi scheme which benefits only those "on the inside" receiving huge and ongoing referral commissions at the top of the matrix tree, and is unsustainable in the longer term when the locked in 2/3 year long contracts will become worthless.

...this message has reached only Indian Bitcoin Forum Users. My worry is commoners putting their hard earned money in these kind of ponzi scheme rather than Bitcoin. Why don't we do something about it?

That's really up to you guys on the ground in India: we have the same problem in my country, especially with schemes promoted thru social media.
Obviously, feel free to use my calcs, but "there are none so blind as those that will not see...."

There seems to be a considerable amount of Singaporean involvement in Bitcoin in India.
The Zebpay organization that you mention is headquartered there, and all the various incarnations of Gain mentioned in my previous posts seem to lead to

Tech Name:Mark Lee
Tech Organization:VariableTech Pvt Ltd
Tech Street1:The Franklin, 3 Science Park Drive
Tech City:Singapore
Tech State/Province:SG
Tech Postal Code:118223
Tech Country:SG

I wonder who M. Lee may be?

Good luck.

1913  Local / India / Re: Amit Bhardwaj/Kumar and a HashOcean clone called Gainbitcoin. on: June 21, 2016, 12:31:10 PM
"how can you verify digital number on GainBitcoin website are Bitcoin or not?"

A reasonable question.
Let's have a look at Gainbitcoin's numbers.....

Let's think about buying a "Silver" plan

As things are a bit volatile at the moment, let's call one BTC $682.
So, with discount offer (? why offer discount if you are partially sold out?) of BTC12.99 we pay $8,898* for 18 months mining contract, expecting about 12% ROI per month..that's ~$1067 per month or $19,220 or 216% ROI over the life of the 18 month contract. Very nice......

We don't know what miners they are using for Bitcoin (that's if they mine at all), let's say Antminer S7.
S7's are claimed to provide 4.8 T/hs for 1250 watts, so let's scale that up to 6 T/hs, the size of a Silver contract i.e. 1560 watts.
We don't know what they pay for electricity either, let's say $0.06, reasonable to cheap.

And let's run those numbers thru coinwarz.com, a real calculator, not a joke one like Gain's.

We get....

We make a profit of $228 per month X 18 = $4104. What happened to our $1067 per month?
We paid $8898 to get back $4104....

A loss of $4794 with electricity at $0.06 per Kwh.

Ok, maybe they get free electricity (they don't), let's run the numbers again....
So we get our full gross mining flat out capacity of our S7, which is $296 per month.
X 18 = $5328...

A loss of $3570 with free electricity.

Silence was his answer.

Not surprised really.

Quote
Rest is quite obvious.

But, being one who likes to state the obvious let's do it
IF Gain are paying their stated ROI and mining with S7's or equivalent they are losing up to ~$5000 per contract (depending on electric cost)
OR
It is a Ponzi.

Edit:*I made a minor calc error of $37 in cost of contract, no meaningful effect on conclusion.

1914  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: June 20, 2016, 10:23:36 PM

Have you read the DAO terms? They explicitly state that the DAO's code is the law, anything enabled by the code is legitimate. There can be no wrong implementation of a contract under the DAO's terms. Or do you just not make informed decisions about things you invest it? If so, I have a GREAT investment opportunity for you...

Have you read the White Paper?

Quote
A word of caution, at the outset: the legal status of
DAOs remains the subject of active and vigorous debate
and discussion.
Not everyone shares the same defi nition.
Some have said that they are autonomous code and can
operate independently of legal systems; others have said
that they must be owned or operate by humans or hu-
man created entities. There will be many uses cases, and
the DAO code will develop over time.
Ultimately, how a DAO functions and its legal status will depend on many
factors, including how DAO code is used, where it is used,
and who uses it. This paper does not speculate about
the legal status of DAOs worldwide. This paper is not
intended to o er legal advice or conclusions. Anyone who
uses DAO code will do so at their own risk.

hes a fraud, his lack of proof is proof of that.

Well, no. You are displaying an elementary logic fail. Lack of proof for A is never proof of Not-A. You could call it evidence supporting Not-A, but it is in no way proof.

That's a bit harsh.
See my sig and also e.g. Copi (yeah, Wikipedia  Cheesy )

Not harsh at all. And fully consistent with your sig (I don't know what Copi is). Lack of proof for A is never proof of Not-A. Period.

You can call it evidence supporting a _conclusion_ of Not-A. I'd even agree with you. But it ain't proof.

Copi's an Irving not an it, wrote "Introduction to Logic".
My view, fwiw, is that by failure to provide proof for A (that CW=SN), in this case Not-A is assumed as default as it was before the claim was made, as A only ever existed in the claim, subsequently unproven, made by the potentially benefiting party.
One logical? step further would be that by failure of proof for A, the likelihood of Not-A is increased.
But yeah, I give you that CW≠SN isn't 100% proven, although neither is (insert any name)≠SN.

In some circumstances it can be safely assumed that if a certain event had occurred, evidence of it could be discovered by qualified investigators. In such circumstances it is perfectly reasonable to take the absence of proof of its occurrence as positive proof of its non-occurrence.

Especially when the "evidence" had been provided by someone who would directly benefit from it proving his assertion, it failing to do that and then being effectively withdrawn in what could be described as a "huff".

I started to use this site at a few days ago and I noticed that sometimes the coins that were mined some of them simply disapeared by refreshing the page (F5)

Is that a bug on their website?

It might be.
It might be

a new and unique system of Bitcoin and altcoins mining algorithms

or
it might be because they don't mine anything irl and the numbers you see are just made up.

do you think hashocean is ponzi scheme using the system? if yes why their site live more than one year?

Ponzi schemes will last as long as
A) The admin want them to
B) The supply of greedy suckers continues.
1919  Economy / Economics / Re: Are the cloud mining sites to go scam? on: June 16, 2016, 08:31:22 AM
yes recently a mining site cldmine.com has ran away with users btc...me too lost many doge coins that i invested in cldmine..i think we should wait till bitcoin halving then start investing on them again

I think you should have a long hard think about doing "due dilligence" and other unfashionable stuff before you even think about sending any more coin to websites with absolutely no proof of what they say they are doing.
Note the multiple use of the word "think", try it sometime.
Also try applying the criteria set out here to determine if you have half a chance of not being scammed.
What's the burning desire to "invest" BTC anyway? The price is going up faster than any mining profits, just hold.
1920  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: HashOcean reviews on: June 15, 2016, 08:25:51 PM
Their chart of the daily profitability looks exactly the same as the russian scamsite hashprofit.com used. This is a ponzi 4 sure..and remember, hashprofit lasted almost a year and then they ran with the users money.

Spot the difference
