961  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: ICOBench Adviser Douglas Lyons:asking 3 ETH for fake rating. on: November 14, 2018, 09:52:23 PM

I don't follow these parasitical so called "rating experts" and "advisors" when it comes to ICO's, they remind me too much of the HYIP Monitor Industry, just part of the whole corrupt infrastructure feeding off the gullible.
There was a very obviously wrong ICO from NELUNS recently, their [ANN] thread is still echoing along with bumping service spam, their bounty hunters have been told to fuck off and come back around Christmas, and it's just a generally shit, transparent scam.

ICObench's supposed "experts" bought the NELUNS bullshit hook, line and sinker, wrote their meaningless 50 word precis and out came the glowing reviews.
I mean, who the fuck are these people anyway?

Hello! We welcome any reports and always consider them when they are sent to us! We follow our rules, but we need direct evidence to take any action!

So, how many instances of paid-to-rate have you investigated, how many of your "experts" have you take action against?
Who the fuck are you, anyway?

962  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Royal Escrow legit? on: November 14, 2018, 01:20:36 AM

Scammers usually fuck up the testimonials for some reason, so I ran the "Stacey and Elijah" thumbnail

thru a search and came up with Hannah Davis

So, Stacey is Hannah and, according to Facebook, Elijah is Chris?

So that means RE are using fake testimonials, which is usually a bad sign re: honesty?
Hmmm.
Not that simple.
Also according to Facebook, Stacey is also Stacey and Elijah is also Elijah

Both couples have a similar profile: adoption, mixed race kids, religion.....
I'm going to revisit this tomorrow.
When I work out who is cloning who, that might help explain why "royalescrow" chose such a complicated couple as character references.

963  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Advice for new users regarding CLOUD MINING on: November 13, 2018, 07:53:30 PM
Looks like another cloud is defaulting. Cyrptomining.farm is failing to make payments: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5040529.0

They never even pretended to mine, it was this "virtual mining" bullshit.
964  Other / Meta / Re: How to deal with bumping via fake conversation? on: November 13, 2018, 05:05:55 PM
And still it continues.
Moderation is pot luck, sometimes they delete reported posts, sometimes the report stays "unhandled".
Way to go.

Indeed, but I think that investing in NELUNS is more important. Then you can be a cocksucker anyway.

thenk you so much tmfp. thets was good gift for me <3

buy why people thinking so? - i have copper member, and if i starting post for got merits + member signature ? Cheesy i have member signature now.

See where I put <snip>?
When you quote other people, think about doing that in future, it makes things easier to read and the Anal Retentive Squad leave you alone (don't put that thru Google translate).
Anyway, you're welcome to the merit(s), but if you turn out to be a spammer/scammer I will find you and take them back with a pair of pliers and a soldering iron.

Ok, one more thing to learn for you today. Look down in the left corner of the screen: you'll see

Yeah, I gave him a merit for what I saw as a decent first attempt at analyzing a probable scam, fucking shoot me.

I've put you on ignore to make sure that I don't give you any merit by mistake.  Here are the reasons for this.
I don't put anyone on ignore, just on a mental list. You've been on it for weeks.
Quote
- Imagine the state of this board if every member started a thread about their first merit. Especially as with your post count, one merit is something to be ashamed of, not something to boasr about.
Imagine the state of this board if every member decided to start sixteen threads on topics only of interest to themselves?
"Ashamed"? WTF?
Quote
- You quoted a long post, and this was not needed, and annoying. Not only that, but you requoted it with a redundant comment.
"Annoying?" OMG, don't piss teacher off, he'll make you stay behind.
Quote
- In my opinion the merited post wasn't worth it
It isn't necessary for you to have an opinion about everything.
Quote
and you drew attention to the awarder.
Wut?
Quote
This thread appears to have been started in an apparent attempt to gain more merit
Or maybe he's just happy about getting recognized thru a merit award?
Now he understands how he got it (if he can be bothered to sift thru the sarc and censure to get an answer to his simple question) maybe he'll make a few more attempts at posting something informative.

967  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Forum moderation policy on: November 13, 2018, 09:17:07 AM

The use of self moderation combined with bumping accounts is spreading on the forum, see the NELUNS [ANN] thread for a prime example.
I have been reporting them but moderator response seems to be uncertain, my last report of ~100 posts remains unhandled and the pages continue to fill up with garbage conversations.
The fact that that particular thread is also a proven scam means that threads on the forum that use these bumping services, especially when combined with self moderation, will continue to expand in number and subvert the whole concept of "forum" by turning it into an uncontrolled spammer/scammer notice board.
Ignoring them is not the answer, please have a convo at policy level on this subject, there are a few of us that would help if asked.

969  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Gtmr.io - SCAM - Fake Team on: November 12, 2018, 04:09:05 PM
Looks like the new trend between scammers is to create a self-moderated topic.

This one is back -ANN - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5067892.0

DT Tag please

The new new trend is combining a self moderated thread and a bumping service, or in house bumping using reactivated newbie accounts.
Check out NELUNS [ANN], hundreds of nonsense posts having nonsense conversations, combined with self mod deletion of any critical posts.
970  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Gate.io scam on: November 08, 2018, 11:57:22 AM

Apologies for the necro, but this update involves "scam" and "Gate.io", although not in the original context.

Whether the MO of the method used and described below has any relationship to what is posted above (certainly an ingenious way to scam your customers, not that there's any proof of that) is another matter.

To quote liberally from this news report

Quote
One of the top traffic metrics websites on the internet is apparently being used by criminals to steal Bitcoins from a currency exchange.
Researchers at ESET have found that the JavaScript used by StatCounter's analytics platform has been modified by miscreants so that when embedded into the pages of Gate.io, a cryptocurrency exchange, it can siphon off alt-coins.
The ESET team today said that the crooks injected malicious code within statcounter.com/counter/counter.js, a piece of JavaScript that StatCounter's two million or so customers embed in their websites to measure their visitor traffic.

While millions of sites may have pulled in that modified code, however, it appears that just one site was the target. ESET's eggheads say the malicious code within the StatCounter script performs a single check for a specific path: myaccount/withdraw/BTC.

Lol, myaccount/withdraw/BTC.... no comment.

Quote
"It turns out that among the different cryptocurrency exchanges live at time of writing, only gate.io has a valid page with this URI," explained ESET malware researcher Matthieu Faou.

So therefore

Quote
Should that path be accessed by a visitor, a second script on a separate domain is fetched and executed. That script tries to redirect any Bitcoin transactions to one of several wallet addresses controlled by the masterminds of this attack.

ESET speculated that coin had been stolen

Quote
Even if we do not know how many Bitcoins have been stolen during this attack, it shows how far attackers go to target one specific website, in particular a cryptocurrency exchange

But Gate.io responded quite quickly yesterday, claiming all is good....

Statcounter is one of the top stats tools providers in the world. gate.io was using Statcounter's paid services for a few months.
On Nov. 6, 2018, we got the notice from ESET researcher's report and the "ESET Internet Security" product that there's a suspicious behavior in Statcounter's traffic stats service.
We immediately scanned it on Virustotal in 56 antivirus products. No one reported any suspicious behavior at that time, the report can be found at
https://www.virustotal.com/#/file/bb52c07e28f81ddcf5384249efc7a0b1c59a940be94b1d3d361472a338d695c3/detection
However, we still immediately removed the Statcounter's service. After that, we didn't find any other suspicious behaviors.
 The users' funds are safe.
To have the maximum security, please make sure you have two-factor authentication (Google OTP or SMS) and two-step login protected. We want to express our great appreciation and respect to the researcher from ESET Malware Researcher.

So, there we are....

This was a Public Service Post from tmfp.

971  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scam acusations on: November 07, 2018, 02:42:57 PM

88% of crypto crowdfund projects fail because of lack of funds not that they are ment to be scams.

Only 10% of projects are actually scamms. 82% are entrepreneurs trying to make a business.

Much numberz.
Any source, or just own ass?
972  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: NELUNS: "$136MILLION" OF NOTHING: yet another ICO scam... on: November 07, 2018, 12:58:39 PM
I don't know why but pinkman12345 deleted his message. So I'll repost it, there is important information about Neluns potentially being listed on Binance.

Who knows why he would post that and delete it? Only him and he appears to have a vested interest

I am even expecting a massive dump but what the worst situation could be 1/10 ?? Still i will make something as i have something to repay.

Finger crossesd.

As for the "in progress" image, Binance make it quite clear that the use of it is automatically given when an application is made.

I could probably apply to list "TMFP coin" and be automatically allowed to use it. It means nothing in itself. I would be more interested to see the "in progress" situation of NELUNS bank registration application....  Roll Eyes

I wonder how many of Changpeng Zhao's stated criteria for Binance listing apply to NELUNS? Not many by the look of it..

Quote
I guess in summary, we like: strong team, existing product, large user base, and ones that have done relatively small ICOs. The bar’s not too high, right?

Whether or not this scam manages to sweet talk any exchanges, large or small, to list their token is irrelevant in the bigger picture imo.

1) They have overstated the actual funds received in the ICO (not including any BTC in the absence of any analyzable BTC address) by a factor of 1000
2) Their biggest "anchor VC investor" The Manhattan Blockchain Fund is a complete invention, sharing NELUNS ip address
3) Their team exists in a manufactured bubble, with no history.
4) They have utilized a bumping service to create a forum "buzz" where no such real "buzz" exists.
5) Their claims of "SEC notification," "Bank registration" and other attempts to claim legitimacy have no supporting documentation
6) Various anomalies such as abandoned Twitter activity etc. for such a supposedly high flying project
7) Reneging on Bounty payment commitments of $millions

That's just off the top of my head.

This appears to be an obstacle to Binance listing...

These Russians are already everywhere, they intervened in the American elections, they made Brexit in  United Kingdom, soon they will sell hamburgers for rubles in New York. With this  need to do something, the Russians captured the entire Internet. Even this article  it is written in Russian  https://ttrcoin.com/threads/neluns-io-scam.2796/page-2

There's an ongoing thread there already about this bot spam conversation problem.
Ironically, the evidence contained in the Scam Accusation against NELUNS really only came to (my) attention because of the spam. So counter productive in this case.

976  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Has anyone ever bought bitcoin on this site? on: November 06, 2018, 07:22:57 PM
This is first time when I hear this website. And I don't know why people are going to use all these unknown websites and risk with their money when there are so many popular and reputable websites where you can buy Bitcoin without risk to loose money.
It's an 'exchange' mainly attracting users from Tunisia as pointed out above, very likely because these people don't have many other options to utilize due to the limitations that they are facing.

In the western world we have many options to choose from, but that's not the case for certain other countries, which is why people there are more likely to use what we consider unknown and unsafe exchanges.

I can't even imagine how difficult it is for some people to buy themselves into Bitcoin. There are hundreds of services in Europe alone allowing me to buy Bitcoin at any time of the day without hassle.
This is true and I don't see for it to be complicated to purchase up bitcoin even no matter which side of the world you reside on. There might be local exchangers to be their last option but actually if
just really explore and do put up a little effort on searching things up we would able to see that the world is wide and there are lots of ways to purchase on.

The problem is not in buying the bitcoins, it's what the exchanger can do with the restricted fiat currency that he gets from the transaction.
What can he do with the Tunisian dinars he receives?
In this example, the dinar is a "closed" currency, meaning that it is illegal to import or export from Tunisia.
Add in fiat inflation and a weakening official exchange rate (and usually a black market) then you get situations where Bitcoin in "closed fx" countries often trades at a premium to the dollar/euro price.
