Well with bitcoin core, since its a full node you let people connect to you, so im not sure about that. I use a firewall tho, and several other anti malware, anti ransomware, anti exploit, and antivirus software, so any strange attempts to change my registry would show up.

Have in mind that if you don't send any fees, specially for a small amount of BTC, you risk that your transaction gets stuck. With bitcoin core you can recover them, but I don't know what would happen if your transaction gets stuck in an online wallet.

Anyone else has the courage to go all in on Hillary? By all in I mean betting ALL of your bitcoins for a win.
There's some people that's doing this. They are literally going bet all of their bitcoins because they are convinced the election is rigged and Trump cannot win, why not go all in then? Maybe this is a rare opportunity to make a lot of money. Im thinking about it but I don't think I have the balls.

This is really exciting. Every day you don't know what's going to happen, since there are leaks on both fronts. Trump gets all those tax avoidance leaks and controversial/embarrassing leaks from past recordings and Hillary gets all those deleted emails. China spys vs russia spys? who knows.

The bot that is usually on the speculation section (and sometimes on the mining section) spamming tons of FUD, is now spamming on the main section at full force, I have seen up to 6 messages at once. Message contains this: Beware of those threads, don't reply on those, just report it.

That will only make bitcoin's price go higher. We have learned from past experience that when governments try to crush bitcoin, the bitcoin price goes higher and the volume of transactions too. They are going to learn the hard way that bitcoin cannot be stopped.

I keep seeing people that want to get started in bitcoin, asking "how do I buy bitcoins?" then they buy them, usually from Coinbase, or any other big sites like those, and they keep the coins there. It's like they don't make the effort to learn the fact that having coins outside of your local software wallet is very stupid. All those people are prone to suffer losses as websites come and go, and don't get me started on the people that keep their coins on all those shady exchanges.
How to avoid seeing this phenomena? it's like no matter how this is repeated, they never listen.

Bitcoin has helped me learn a lot about economy and even politics and other areas of life that I used to pay no attention at all. Now I understand the different philosophical views of how to distribute resources, how currencies work and how they re issued, and also learned how to invest and get some profit, so it has had a big impact on my life. Unfortunately, I was not one of the few that got rich quick, but I know in 10 years holders of 25 or more BTC will be rich.

In this thread some guy talks about the 700GB in 4 years prediction, which seems to be wrong according to DannyHamilton. It seems there is nothing worry about. You would need to raise the blocksize + have blocks full all the time to reach numbers like those... so the blockchain will be lighter. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1667806.0

Don't.
The best odds are gone.
Wait for election night when there'll be crazy odds fluctuation - if you bet smart you can make guaranteed profit
There's no thing such as guaranteed profit, if there was, you would take 1 million dollars loan and go all in on your "guaranteed winner", but you will not because we don't know who is going to win. I also think Hillary will win and it's relatively safe to bet on a Hillary win, but we don't know, Trump may win too, its getting close..

The feeling of winning in a gamble is one of the best feelings you can experience, therefore, it's a feeling that can become addictive for those that are genetically proven to fall in the addiction trap. But if you know how to do it casually, you can enjoy it way more than those that do it all the time.

The yuan is going down the shitter which is helping a lot since BTC goes up when chinese currency gets devalued, the dollar doesn't anymore, when don't need it, just pay attention to the yuan, and also of course segwit is coming, this is helping the price. 800+ is coming soon.

It's never a bad idea to buy bitcoin and hold long term. If you are patient enough, you will end up with a lot more purchasing power.
$1,000 is a nice round number, so is 10 years. In 10 years, those $1,000 could be $100,000, it's worth the shoot.

The dollar network effect is the strongest of all currencies ever, it will be very difficult for bitcoin to replace it. Bitcoin cannot do anything about it, the dollar has to fail by itself, and im sure the anti cash politics of governments will try to kill the dollar while taking btc to the moon.

It has no impact at all. You just have to look at the localbitcoins volume exchange in the BTC/RBL (russian currency, the rubble) and you will see that the volume of exchange has only been going up. This is pretty much proof that no matter how much the government tries to scare people with jail time, the unstoppable rise of Bitcoin continues.

The Golem ICo is definitely worth looking at, I think it will have a good run. SingularityDTV is also a good one, I forgot how about that one and didn't buy any at the ICO, I think it's now already out in exchanges, not on Polo I think, its on bittrex.

^ With McGregor's case he won't be ending up working in Mc Donald's. He'll have a movie career or something, or at least an MMA talent agency where he can train and promote fighters. He's not just your regular UFC fighter. He's a brilliant businessman as well who has a knack in marketing.
I don't mean in the future, I think both Mayweather and McGregor are rich for life now, unless they do something insanely stupid, they are cashcows and they will never be in need of money (specially Mayweather lol) But what I meant was, when McGregor was young, if his career never started before he got big, I wonder if she would still be with him for so long.

We thought Zcash was going to go way lower than 1 BTC, but right now it's sitting at 3+ BTC after 230%+ gains.
This means anyone that bought during the stable price during the last days of october has made 230%+ gains (and who knows how high this pump will go)
I admit I don't have the balls to get in.. who knows if this is a dead cat bounce-

I use Services to find work usually, But lately it is becoming a pain to navigate or find anything due to the amount of signature campaigns.
Signature Campaign is not a service, its selling ads for small money.
Signature campaign is still work, even tho the pay is low, and it's a service that someone is requesting from people in order to spread their websites, so technically there is no difference from hiring some guy to post in order to get your website out there and get some traffic going to hiring some guy to engineer a super complex software for thousands of dollars... In any case, it may be a good idea to separate signature campaigns from the rest anyway, since a lot of people is only interested in the signature campaigns which is a nice way to get your first bitcoins and learn how the software works by sending real transactions, without having to resort to the depressingly low amount that faucets pay. Maybe it would be interesting, but I don't think it's very important, because we already have this thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=615953.0And on this thread we have all the important necessary informations about all currently running campaigns. I just think some informations about open campaigns aren't right, because when we look at it the campaign isn't accepting new members on that moment... I am aware of Mitchell's "signature overview" thread, he is doing a tremendous job but he is human after all, and it's not like he has a team of people looking for new signature campaign opportunities 24/7. What I mean by this is, sometimes there are hours, maybe days until a new signature campaign gets added on that list, or certain changes like rates, new spots etc happen, it takes time to update, so you can miss good opportunities to get in early in new campaigns with decent rates. Fortunately I am very happy with betcoin.ag so I have not been paying attention to any other campaigns. If we have a dedicated subforum it would be easier to keep track of new signature campaign threads.

IIRC Theymos verifies the releases himself before he updates the news, i.e. he checks the code, runs a gitian build, and checks the hashes with the released ones. However, given that the forum is currently under a DDoS attack, it is likely that Theymos has not updated the news yet as he is still dealing with the DDoS.
Edit: The new version is posted now on the news section.
Yeah I saw it. Reddit also takes a lot of extra time to update the "latest version" on the right of the page. The forum is now working great, theymos also fixed it. I wonder who is against all those DDoS attacks. Maybe bitcoin.com? im sure those guys are jealous that this is the biggest bitcoin forum on the internet.
