Ah thank you for clarifying that. I have not sent any or made any bitcoins yet so will find out about private key whenever that happens.
I am on Primedice now (thanks for posting that, seems like a nice simple site) but i do not see the free 0.00000100 BTC that you get when starting. It just says me balance is 0.00000000, i appreciated the posts for such noob questions and troubleshooting. Ill keep at it until i figure it out :p

It's on the left hand side next to where it sasy Provably Fair. Click the FREE BTC, fill in a captcha, then it will credit you with your free coins.

Anyone else freezing where they are?

Yup. Where you at? 3°C here in my city in the UK. Seems colder though.

So does anybody want to make me an offer on this? Otherwise I’ll have to reluctantly put it on ebay. I'll just be buying some coins with the money any way.

I'm willing to use escrow or can add it to the Feathercoin marketplace: https://market.feathercoin.com/index.php
19006  Other / Off-topic / Re: How does TUBE websites make money? on: December 17, 2013, 04:18:02 PM
They make money from selling adverts and premium accounts. The more hits their website gets the more they can charge.
19007  Other / Meta / How do I change my avatar? on: December 17, 2013, 04:11:42 PM
Just kidding Grin. I see some redtext has now been added to the profile section: Changing avatars is currently not possible.

Now lets see how many threads we get.

I understand fighting spam, but the 360 second period you have to wait to post anything after login as a Jr.Member is just excruciating.

I wouldn't call it 'excruciating', but it is a minor annoyance, but it's there for a reason. You only have to bare it for a little while any way as it soon drops down. I'm on about 45 seconds now, I think.
19010  Other / Off-topic / Re: 2014 FIFA World Cup Draw on: December 17, 2013, 03:39:56 PM
My prediction:

Group A: Brazil, Croatia
Group B: Spain, Netherlands
Group C: Japan, Greece
Group D: Uruguay, Italy (I think Uruguay will kick out England)
Group E: Switzerland, Ecuador (sorry. No France this time).
Group F: Argentina, Nigeria
Group G: Germany, Portugal
Group H: Belgium, Russia (tough fight between Russia and South Korea)

Mine are very similar to yours.

My predictions:

Group A: Brazil, Cameroon, Mexico, Croatia
Group B: Spain, Chile, Australia, Netherlands
Group C: Colombia, Ivory Coast, Japan, Greece
Group D: Uruguay, Italy, Costa Rica, England
Group E: Switzerland, Ecuador, Honduras, France
Group F: Argentina, Nigeria, Iran, Bosnia-Herzegovina
Group G: Germany, Ghana, United States, Portugal
Group H: Belgium, Algeria, Korea Republic, Russia

Maybe a bit of wishful thinking with England, but I think it'll be close with Uruguay.

Haha. Have you got any 3D pictures, or is Miley just like a cardboard cutout?

Image is tiny. Still can't make out whether she's 3D or not.

Hey im a complete noob to this, spent last 30 mins browsing the forums for an answer and followed a forum topic saying how to get free bitcoins. But still have not managed to find my answer.

Also the wallet address is totally unique to me right? Like i could give it to someone else and they cant do anything with it that might compromise my account?

Yes, just be sure to only give out your public key and not your private one.

Have you checked out some faucets to get some free BTC and to try test your wallet? Try PrimeDice's: https://primedice.com/

You have to gamble with it before you can cash out but is easy to do.

Iv tried a few faucets but they said i need to accumulate a certain amount before withdrawing. I dont have any BTC yet so cant gamble to test it.

I only have the 1 address, i can create more but i dont see where it says i can set them to Public or Private.

Private used for receiving coins between my own accounts? And public ones to send to websites/people to receive money?

Check out PrimeDice's faucet. It gives you a free 0.00000100 btc to gamble with.

The addresses you are generating are public ones. Your private key is what you use to spend or store your coins: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Private_key

Send me all your bitcoins, I'm reliable!  Grin

By the way, since it is impossible to enforce I just picked neutral.

It's not impossible to enforce, but to enforce fully it is, but that doesn't mean we should let it happen or remain neutral. It's impossible to enforce fully the sale of child porn and weapons but I don't think that means we should take a neutral stance on it.

19015  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Few Questions on: December 17, 2013, 02:54:52 PM
I have few questions and i will try to write all of them here without spamming too much.

1) Why company as Google or Amazon dont create their own coin ?
2) Wich alternative coin would u mine atm.
3) On wich existing coin would u invest beside BTC and why

1) Some company probably will. Megaupload have their own one. I think it'll only be a matter of time before some big corporation or bank makes their own.
2) I don't mine, so can't say.
3) Feathercoin. It's got a great community and forward-thinking development/publicity team behind it and is currently really cheap at 0.30 cents. It's also one of the only coins to have it's own free-to-use ebay style marketplace, which I think is a real plus and easy way to get some coins: https://market.feathercoin.com/index.php
19016  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Bitcoin is anonymous" --- According to every avg. Joe, but is it really? on: December 17, 2013, 02:50:33 PM
If you understand the steps required to keep it anonymous then it can be perfectly anonymous. It requires the creation of new wallets, and the tumbling of coins to insure they cannot be traced. Look up guides on the forums if you are worried about having your transactions traceable, and purchase coins locally using services that do not track your IP address (TOR, internet cafe, etc)

No it can't be anonymous. Perhaps you did not understand my prior post. Mixers (tumblers, zerocoin, etc) do not obscure your IP address. Tor is vulnerable to timing analysis. Internet cafes have cameras. Etc..

And the main point you missed is that if most are not anonymous, then anonymity becomes useless for everyone. Go re-read my post and try to wrap your slow brain around it.

What would be an example of something that is truly anonymous to you, if it even exists?
19017  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Next few months are CRITICAL for Crypto Currencies on: December 17, 2013, 02:20:03 PM
@hilariousandco this is what I am saying, more people need to be educated about value, whatever that is. "Just Do It" is not working. As a trader, speculator, or investor it only makes common sense to have the consumers on our side. How do we do this? We inform them of stuff (Goods and Services) they can get.

We, who invest and trade the currencies need the consumer more than they need us. It only makes sense to push hard to the consumer that they "need" this, they want this, that they can fulfill their wants and needs. This is psych 101; get someone to point B so your point A goal is reached.

We win if they use, and by default we all win.

Tell people/merchants about the advantages of Bitcoin. For merchants they have to deal with costly credit card fees and they don't get the actual money paid to them for some time, and there's no chance of any chargebacks. There's also all the libertarian aspects of BTC about taking power away from corrupt governments and bankers etc and giving the power back to us, the people.
19018  Other / Meta / Re: (PETITION) The act of BUYING/SELLING Bitcointalk.org Accounts (Poll) on: December 17, 2013, 02:16:05 PM
It has to stop. What we are doing is making it easy for scammers, they get a 6-10 months old account and the one's who deal with them subconsciously get an idea that, "Hey, that's an old chap, must be reliable!"

I think it''s best to look for evidence of reliability by checking out there trades history and recent activity. Just because somebody has been here 6-10 months doesn’t make them reliable. Most decent traders will have plenty of evidence of trades they can link you to, and/or have a rep thread.

19020  Economy / Economics / Re: Worst bitcoin decision you've ever made? on: December 17, 2013, 02:01:19 PM
My worst Bitcoin decision I ever made was not buying any when I first heard about them. My second mistake was not buying more at £70.
