1921  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Happy Birthday Bitcoin on: November 01, 2015, 01:59:07 PM
Well why it has been choosen to be the same day as Halloween?
Maybe it has a hidden meaning for use Tongue
Well to celebrate maybe it is early but in the future the celebration maybe should be to giveaway some bitcoins for users Smiley
1922  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will BTC reach $350 during november? on: November 01, 2015, 01:56:19 PM
500 by Christmas.
I think 500 in christmas will not happen. Cheesy
Because I sure bitcoin price will remain among the 300 - 400 until next year. Tongue

if we manage to stay around $350 this year, then i am already happy. we can't expect the price to go to $500 as we haven't even have a decent support level at $300.

Well for this year i think that yes it will reach $350
But i think sooner than the end of the year, probably by this month.
$500 is really hard for this year but never say never.
1923  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is coming back, stronger than ever! on: November 01, 2015, 01:54:16 PM
About the increasing number of users,
I think that most of them are for spamming.
And we see how many users are brand new and the purpose is for spam, but they get banned/deleted quickly.
Maybe another thing is that many people get infected by a virus and the hacked asked for bitcoin.
1924  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's your biggest problem with Bitcoin on: November 01, 2015, 01:45:05 PM
only the problem i have bitcoin is that sometime it gets confirmation late. I know its not a fault of miners too but its annoying to sit back and wait for the confirmation to come.

The confirmation can take even longer than 1 hour sometimes.
When there are some stress test or simple attacks, it may take up to 2 days.
By this the funds are sent back to the sender and you should make again the tranasctions.
1.5hours is the longest I have waited. As long as you pay 0.1MBTC/KB fee, you will be fine with most stress test. It is expensive to execute higher fees ones. The transaction simply gets dropped out of the mempool and you can craft another transaction.

Well yes i have waited around 2 hours too,
But i simple do not care about the transaction fee.
Because i use coinbase for daily transaction and they cover the fees.
1925  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC is about to be $5K-$8K ++ on: November 01, 2015, 01:42:14 PM
It isn't impossible, but I think it would require loads of time before we get there: with massive adaption and full support from the merchants and consumers too. For now, let's focus on the realistic goals such as $320 and somewhere near it. Wink

I think that the OP speculated price is possible.
But maybe after few years when bitcoin become more popular.
For now it is a lot about 1500% change but there aren't much coins available.

it probably needs 10 years before we see a price anywhere near the $5000 to $8000. patience is the key to profit. i will definitely hold for plenty of years.

I think that it really depends on the technology trends.
About competition i don't think that any other currency will compete bitcoin.
And another one is advertisement from big companies, but min. 10 years of course until 5-8k
1926  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bank or Bitcoin Wallet? on: November 01, 2015, 01:40:30 PM
I prefer to have both. Bitcoin for investment because bitcoin price is currently going up. And bank accounts for my everyday normal needs. Though I will not keep my money sleeping in the bank because I will loose it in inflation. I just maintain enough money to cover emergency needs.
you can try bitcoin for everyday purposes, now there is a bitcoin debit card,
I have not tried it, but it sounds interesting
Bitcoin debit card allows users to load it into the service for the user to use. I don't particularly like this idea though. By loading it, you are giving your Bitcoins to the service which isn't secure. They can run away or the debit card service can stop supporting them due to their local regulations.

Well this is the only way to use these bitcoin debit cards.
Some services allows you to not convert immediately the bitcoin into fiat to use after.
But simple you leave bitcoin as it is and then if you withdraw from ATM at that moment the exchange rate is taken.
You are still going to pay high fees for that. Taking Bitx as an example, activation alone costs $9 assuming you are not going to pay $99 for a named white card and the ATM fees is ridiculously high too. If you don't reside in a non restricted country or want an anonymous card, POS fees and there would be much lower limits.

Withdrawing from an exchange to your bank account is a much better idea.

Well the fees are really high for these debit cards,
The two ones that i regularly check are xapo and bit-x and seems the fees are a bit high.
Also another fee is the exchange fee when you want to withdraw money from ATM or making online purchasing.
1927  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ransomware, the best thing that has happened to Bitcoin on: November 01, 2015, 01:38:12 PM

..
The OP's comments are a tad confusing still. He/she implies that the rise of bitcoin price and adoption is due to ransomware existing...which obviously wouldn't be true.

...

Are you so sure about that? According to the FBI 1% of ransomware victims pay it. So, if there are 10 million victims, then there would be 100,000 new bitcoin users. That is quite a lot of buying activity. According to the FBI they have received ransomware complaints totaling $18 million dollars. One estimate of how much the hackers are making is as much as $300 million. That is $300 million in bitcoin purchases.

Well that's really bad for these people, they had no other choices.
But kaspersky is offering their free service to scan and decrypt these files.
About the price maybe it can be increased but after these people buy bitcoin they will never get back to use bitcoin.
1928  Economy / Economics / Re: Forgoten Greece on: November 01, 2015, 01:33:48 PM
i think this is good for btc
many greek moving to more stable currency, bitcoin, even though bitcoin is still very risky !! better than greek money !

Well good and bad at the same time,
Because to move to bitcoin they should have money which generally take from banks.
And banks has frozen/limited their clients in greece, but in general it is good if they really started moving to bitcoin.
1929  Economy / Economics / Re: Rising Numbers on: November 01, 2015, 01:32:35 PM
Well to reach 1,000 USD it needs lots of time (normally)
At least after few halving periods which affect the price directly.
Another things which can affect the price are the chinese people which can pump the price to the moon.
1930  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Someone selling stole private keys on: November 01, 2015, 01:05:38 PM
Yes if he has indeed private keys, then he could get the bitcoin for hisself, that would make sense, but selling them don't make sense so this is a pure scam attempt. I think he need to be IP banned.

And ban all Change**Bags Usernames created today. He is/was constantly switching them.

There is a bot i think from Mitchell which do a job.
This detect new created users and report them as far as i know.
I don't know why people wants to spam a lot, really low to zero chances to scam others.
1931  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will BTC reach $350 during november? on: November 01, 2015, 01:03:45 PM
500 by Christmas.

It's hard to believe but it's almost 2 months far from now.
The price should be increased more than 3$ every day to reach 500.
Maybe you meant the christmas next year or this year Tongue
1932  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC is about to be $5K-$8K ++ on: November 01, 2015, 12:59:05 PM

1933  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN IS BETTER THAN WESTERN UNION ? on: November 01, 2015, 12:55:35 PM
You still don't get it.  Dollars also have zero transaction fees.

Painting bitcoin as a competitor to western union is misdirection at best.

Public coin allows you to hold a verifiable fraction of the world's supply in your hand.
Fiat coin does not allow you to hold a verifiable fraction of the world's supply in your hand.

Get it?

Soon you will be using western union to send bitcoin, then perhaps you will understand.

Well cash to cash has no transaction fees.
The topic is about western union, so basically sending money costs you money.
So it is a huge difference between western union fees and bitcoin tx fees.
1934  Economy / Economics / Re: Google Ad Revenue on: November 01, 2015, 12:53:12 PM
You could, but you should still supply it with written content. Adsense is now very strict for websites, not unlike in the early days where you can easily get an account even with 2 to 3 articles on a Blogger blog.

Try filling your site with > 10k words with lots of pages, that'll get you approved.

Maybe i should hire someone to make all this work.
But basically how much should i spent to be accepted.
Then does it worth paying someone to write and post content? Then paying for advertisement.
1935  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Someone selling stole private keys on: November 01, 2015, 12:49:24 PM
I think this is another one who is creating brand new accounts.
And want to spam the forum, i also saw a thread and it got deleted.
If he has the private keys then why selling them for bitcoin, it makes no sense?
1936  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's stopping people from using bitcoin? on: November 01, 2015, 12:47:51 PM

The security is never 100% because every day hackers hack something somewhere.
Well i have seen bitcoin ATM only in youtube and never in my country.
Do they require identity verification like most of online exchages.

I can only speak for the ATM @ Toronto, and that didn't require any ID verification.

My guess is that most of them exchange without ID-Check.

Well good at least that you have one near you Smiley
I understand the point but at least they a camera there.
So if they want to check something they have the "real ID" in front of them in 3D Tongue
1937  Economy / Economics / Re: The $1 Million Dollar Bitcoin on: November 01, 2015, 12:46:07 PM
I think that it can be possible but maybe after 10s years.
More big e-commerce shops should implement (maybe all of them)
And bitcoin can cost $1 Million dollar if it starts replacing fiat cash.
1938  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Spending VERY Large Amounts of Bitcoin? on: November 01, 2015, 12:40:56 PM
Well since there are not much available i think that it affects the price.
And maybe a large dump because there arent much buy orders for $1M
Going to many exchanges would be a good idea but maybe not enough.
1939  Economy / Speculation / Re: to buy or not to buy on: November 01, 2015, 12:34:17 PM
I think that today was a good day to buy.
The price was down and suddenly the price increased.
I think that it is not late if you really want to buy, but it's a good time.
1940  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ransomware, the best thing that has happened to Bitcoin on: November 01, 2015, 12:33:12 PM
In my opinion ramsonware is very bad for bitcoin, it could increse price of bitcoin if lot of people want to restore its documents, but these users will not see bitcoin as a good payment system. We need good news related with bitcoins, not bad publicity like hackers stoling your money.

Another bad thing for these people is that if they want to buy bitcoins.
If they start/want to buy bitcoin they will look for an exchange then they are required to submit government documents.
And i think that this makes people more afraid to purchase bitcoin, but yeah the price normally should increase but not to much.
